Excellent service from Sam on completing our Smog Certification on a Ford Fusion. We purchased a…read morenew battery for the car just prior to having a smog check. This required a special drive sequence to allow the cars computer to activate to allow for the test to be made. We couldn't get accurate details on what the drive cycle process would be to complete the test from another smog station over a month earlier that had declared the car had failed to pass testing. Even the Ford dealer told us to just drive the car for a few more days and it would automatically re-set. It wasn't nearly that simple on this Ford. Sam was very helpful, pleasant, and enjoyable to talk to. He spent time with me on the phone the day before we visited his shop explaining the very likely reason the drive- cycle wasn't completed, and what it would take to resolve the issue. With his help the next day at his shop the car was cleared to test and the smog certificate issued, all within a couple of hours. His quote for work was very fair for the testing and certificate, and he honored the quote provided on the phone the day before. The work was completed exactly when promised. Arrow Smog definitely has a new and permanent customer. We had a lot of anxious moments the past month thinking there was something seriously wrong with the Fusion where a few simple steps needed to be followed to correct the issue and get the car's new license plate tags for this year. Since his unfortunate passing, I continued to take our cars to Nick who took over. His customer service was great, however the quality of mechanics has dropped off dramatically since most of Steven's guys left. Took my car in for a "simple transmission flush" and drove it out with at 22 warning codes being triggered and no one knowing how to fix it. I drove it in to keep it in maintained in good working condition and had to drive it to another mechanic who says it might be a $1600-2000 fix. I called AA Smog to ask what they did to it and they say it wasn't their fault. I drove it in running great and drove it out with a rough idle, stalling and 20+ warning codes. I have no more trust in the new mechanics and will not be returning.
