My car failed to pass on its first attempt. The tech told me to take it out and drive it about 200 miles to reset the catalytic converters. Did that but still a failure the next two attempts. They continued to tell me to drive it and retest. Finally this morning, a passed smog certificate. My car is my beloved Porsche 911. Why anyone would go elsewhere for smog tests is beyond me. So I needed a smog for my BMW, I take my car to this place. As the guy opens my hood you can clearly see my RED INTAKE BOOT in my engine bay (completely forgot I had it there). The guy still has the nerve to continue the test after viewing my RED INTAKE BOOT, and runs my vehicle through his system which took about 15 minutes. At the end, the guy tells me.. "yeah it didn't pass due to the RED INTAKE BOOT", he charges me $50-$60 for the service, and another $40 to do a retest. Do NOT take your diesel truck here unless it is 100% stock. Had to prove him wrong about a Banks tuner that is CARB compliant, but he stated was the incorrect sticker. I went directly to CARB and pulled the E.O. for him, he then said he was not going to do it as there was "too much going on". I asked what that meant he stated there was too many wires. My truck is built for off road racing and has a utility bed with a ton of lights, radios, etc so I have some extra wires in the engine compartment. None of these wires even come close to the engine let alone control it. Unless your truck is 100% stock dont waste your time. Obviously clueless as to how emissions actually work. read more

Meant to post this a few weeks ago. I realized upon getting to AAA to pay my registration that I needed to get a smog test. My registration renewal was due the next day. I checked my phone for any star smog test place near LaVerne AAA and this place popped up. Not only was the gentleman there (I'm so sorry, I'm writing this without the paper on which I wrote your name!) really nice and courteous, but he got me in asap! He chatted with me while the test was going and laughed with me at my error in not fully reading the paper. The whole process was quick, painless, actually pleasant! I highly recommend! Don't be confused by it's location, it is at the opposite end of the Brake Masters Entrance, in the same building as Brake Masters. Germán was the one who helped me and he was super friendly, plus their equipment is updated and he passed my car within less than 10 minutes. The last guy I went to took at a Smog place in Azusa ended up taking over an hour and a half to run a smog on my car. Went to get a smog check today. I was told $60 for my minivan. The price seemed high, but I agreed. I was there for less than five minutes and was told that my vehicle was unable to be assessed due to the new battery. The business said this is a failure and charged me $45 and said I would need to drive around for 100 miles and come back for a retest and pay another $30. This seems very unethical to me. A respectable business would not charge extra if the service was " not ready" for the inspection. Your greed has lost you a customer who lives within walking distance and owns 5 cars. Charge a fair price and have some ethics. read more
