They put the Trip Milage in the Smog Report instead of the Odometer reading and that caused trouble with a new buyer, AutoTrader and the state down the line and then refused to assist in correcting the issue. And of course, no refund. On the other hand, they discovered that a bunny had hidden in the engine compartment and they gently and humanely removed the rabbit and set if free. So, not all bad. Highly recommended! Quick. 10 mins if no one is there. The report gets sent to the DMV. Don't forget your DMV smog check request. Not much to it. Give your keys, papers and payment. So I've never had to do a smog check. Yes. I've been that privileged to have newer cars. But then I got smart and got a used car. Do not take your Pre-Def diesel here as they do not know the correct testing standards. My 2005 duramax was failed due to smoke yet is an all stock engine and emissions I tried explaining there was nothing that could be done to fix the small puff of smoke that was emitted that lingered for less than 3 seconds (more on that later) during the snap test. He told me that he has been doing this for 20 years and to take it to a mechanic and they can fix it, that it probably needed glow plugs. If after 20 years of experience you think glow plugs and spark plugs do the same things, maybe you need more experience. The most frustrating part is being told that ANY smoke from the tailpipe during a snap test is a fail, as it turns out that is completely incorrect. The proper smoke observation testing is below. Hopefully they will educate themselves and not waste anyone else's time or money. Ensure the engine is at operating temperature Observe tail pipe for 10 seconds for any indication of smoke Observe the engine from under the hood for 10 seconds to verify no smoke is being emitted from crankcase Perform snap test. A snap test requires the smog technician to quickly snap the throttle to an RPM between 2,000 and 3,000 RPM. Then allowing the engine to return to idle. Perform a second snap test. The smog technician watches for visible smoke during the 2nd Snap Test Perform a third snap test. Visible smoke must be noted on the 3rd snap test, as well The pass/fail criteria for the snap test is no smoke at idle or from the crankcase. If during the second or third snap test a visible smoke plume that lingers is present between 5-15 feet of the tail pipe the diesel engine vehicle will fail the smoke test. If the smoke dissipates within 3-5 seconds the vehicle will pass the smoke test portion of the diesel smog check. read more

This place lists their hours as open at 830 on Google maps, but when you arrive they have a sign posted that they open at 9AM. Silly me so I wait for them to open while hearing them inside when I knock on the door. Funny thing happens when 9 AM rolls around, they not only continue to stay open, but don't answer their phone.
