Got there a little after 8am on a Saturday I am disabled and the fuse for my wheelchair wasn't working to lower my powerchair I told him that it may be my fuse next to the Battery under my hood he located and pulled the fuse out a 40 amp I usually have a couple but not today he told me that he may have on and walked to the back of his shop and came out with a new fuse put it on and I was able to pull my chair down he helped me with that also then he offered me a soda or water or a snack told him thank you I was ok .Then he smogged tested my truck and said that it had passed I paid him and he helped me with loading my chair back on my lift. I thanked him and asked his name Lupe he told me thanked him again for all his help he didn't even charge for for the new fuse to me that is 5 star treatment of customers Thank You Lupe you are a wonderful person and I will recommened you to all my friends. read more

Been going here for years. They used to be located on the corner of Foothill and San Antonio Bing search still uses an old photo from that location. A couple of times they went above and beyond. Once to help diagnose a trouble code that the nearby Ford dealer couldn't. They also provided a copy of an invoice from a couple of years earlier to show my insurance company that I was driving less miles than they were charging me for. The fee is $51.20 including the $10.00 discount which they give to everyone whether you have a coupon or not. read more

Don't bother going to this place. One individual who works there is abrupt on the phone when you call with a question. Then I went in person to the shop. When I asked for a general estimate on how long it would take he was rude, disinterested & initially didn't want to give an estimate. When I asked again he said an hour then went back to scrolling on his phone. I left and went across the street to another star certified smog station where the individual was polite, helpful & was able to service my car quickly. No difference in price. I called to get a smog price, for my car. I was asked if I had AAA. When I said that I did, he quoted me $51.20. Great! While getting my car smogged, a friend asked me to check the price for her car and again, $51.20 (he did not ask about AAA.) When I left, he handed me (2) $10 off coupons. I gave one to my friend and she took her car in the next day. When she handed him the coupon he said, "Oh, you have a coupon, that'll be $51.20." What??? My friend doesn't like to complain, so she said nothing, paid and he handed her (2) more 'coupons!!' I went back today, thinking that I would be getting her $10. When I told him that he didn't credit her coupon he said, "That coupon is for $10 off the REGULAR price of $61.20." ($61.20 wasn't mentioned on the phone, nor when he told me how much my friend's car would be!) I just looked at him and said, "Really?" and laughed. He then told me that those were the 'rules' and that he just works there. Soooo, so much for 'genuinely honest' (as another yelper described him.) First time, last time for me. read more

We have been bringing all of our cars here for years and after today we will not be back. The man who I believe is the owner has always been extremely helpful and friendly. We have even referred friends here. Not anymore. I'm not sure who the guy was working today but I waited for at least 10 minutes without him even acknowledging I was there. I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he was working on another car. When I finally (and politely) asked him how long he thought it would be he angrily responded "probably another 10 or 15 minutes. It takes as long as it takes just like it will with your car". This is the only smog place I will ever go to. They are amazingly friendly and attentive. They will offer you a water or soda. If you decline, they'll offer again in a few minutes. First of all, they have moved to 1775 W. Foothill Blvd. They are now located in one of the bays behind Route 66 Auto Repair, which is near the In-n-Out and about 4 buildings away from the Lowe's. Now to the review... Let's face it, having to get your car smogged is not high on the list of fun ways to spend your time. It's just one of those things we do because we have to every two years, so you might as well go some place where you will be treated well and where your patronage is appreciated! I have been taking my vehicles to Advance Auto Smog Check for many years. The guys are always courteous and professional. They know what they are doing and they won't try to rip you off. They're also very quick! The smog check takes about 10 minutes and, of course, they will transmit your results to the DMV electronically. Each time that I have had occasion to visited, I am always greeted promptly, given an expected wait time (if there are other cars ahead of me) and offered a seat and a beverage. What great service! I come here for smog check every year. The shop was moved from couple blocks away. I like to come here for several reasons. The technicians are very friendly. They always offer me free soda or bottled water. The wait is about 10 mins. Since I am a AAA member they always give me a $10 discount.
