Excellent service from Sam on completing our Smog Certification on a Ford Fusion. We purchased a…read morenew battery for the car just prior to having a smog check. This required a special drive sequence to allow the cars computer to activate to allow for the test to be made. We couldn't get accurate details on what the drive cycle process would be to complete the test from another smog station over a month earlier that had declared the car had failed to pass testing. Even the Ford dealer told us to just drive the car for a few more days and it would automatically re-set. It wasn't nearly that simple on this Ford. Sam was very helpful, pleasant, and enjoyable to talk to. He spent time with me on the phone the day before we visited his shop explaining the very likely reason the drive- cycle wasn't completed, and what it would take to resolve the issue. With his help the next day at his shop the car was cleared to test and the smog certificate issued, all within a couple of hours. His quote for work was very fair for the testing and certificate, and he honored the quote provided on the phone the day before. The work was completed exactly when promised. Arrow Smog definitely has a new and permanent customer. We had a lot of anxious moments the past month thinking there was something seriously wrong with the Fusion where a few simple steps needed to be followed to correct the issue and get the car's new license plate tags for this year. Thank you again for all of your help.

I was a returning customer here based on solid past service, but my recent visit was alarming. I…read morebrought in a higher-mileage vehicle to re-check after addressing issues from a previous failed smog test. Instead of using standard diagnostic procedures, the technician told me to turn the car on and literally put the "pedal to the metal," demonstrating with hand motions to floor the accelerator to check the exhaust for visible smoke. Despite my clear hesitation, he insisted that was his method. I followed his instructions in the lot, only for him to reverse course, claim I did it wrong, and say I should have only revved it to 2,000-3,000 RPM. He then smirked and remarked, "I thought you were going to blow your engine." Treating a customer's vehicle with reckless disregard--and then joking about causing catastrophic engine failure--is unacceptable from an automotive professional. If you drive an older or high-mileage vehicle, take it elsewhere. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
