Our first night in to Chattanooga was a Thursday, so food options in the hotel were limited, so we used UberEats and ordered in. We always prefer to get something from a place that's local and that we can't get back home and also that our kiddo could eat beans and rice and queso for every meal. My husband got the Burrito Fiesta-he liked how balanced the cheese sauce was with the fajita steak, and he said it was really easy to cut up to eat. Flavor was great. I had the Camarones con Arroz., and it had such a unique and delicious flavor in the sauce. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. We decided our taste buds were craving Mexican cuisine and headed out to Fiesta Mexicana. We did not indulge in happy hour margaritas this trip, but as a side note they are quite tasty! We ordered a small queso to accompany our complimentary chips and salsa. You can request a spicy salsa if you need more kick. Chips are standard. For our mains, I ordered the Carne Asada and my son ordered the Fiesta Especial Fajitas. I ordered my steak medium rare, but the slices are so thin, by the time it arrived to the table it was medium. Still tasty, but if I order it again, I'll order the steak rare. I was pleased the plate had a grilled whole jalapeno and pickled ones, nice variety of extras on the plate. Note I asked for no lettuce, so if you like the leafy veg mixed in, it does come with it.. but...why? The fajitas had every meat, including ribs and shrimp. Huge plate! Both dishes had your expected flavors. The warm corn tortillas were really nice. We had so much food, to go boxes were in order. My husband and I are newly arrived in Chattanooga and were a bit worried that quality Mexican food would be left behind when we left Southern California. Well, we were WRONG! We have eaten at several Mexican Restaurants around Chatt and eaten multiple times at Fiesta Mexicana. We have had both delivery and dine-in at Fiesta and the food has been great. Carnitas, rolled tacos, carne asada, veggie fajitas have all been great quality, good size portions (we always have enough to take home) and very tasty. Service at lunch time is really fast and their delivery to our vacation rental arrived HOT. Servers are friendly and fast on their feet. I usually wait till I've visited a restaurant a few times before I review but our dining last night was so on point! Fiesta Mexicana was some of the best Mexican food we've had in Chattanooga. Ingredients we're fresh and our food came to the table hot. I had the Pina de la Feista which is a half pineapple filled with grilled steak, chicken and shrimp. It also had peppers, onion, pineapple and was covered in Mexican cheese. I ate it alone and with the warm tortillas and sides it came with. Also their guacamole was yummy and house made! We also had margaritas. They were ok and did the trick but I have had better tasting. Staff was friendly and attentive. Ordered online from a food delivery app. The quality of food was extremely low. I was not impressed, I do not recommend eating here. The chicken pieces were not uniform (bagged chicken?) and were quite soggy. The marinade on the fajita vegetables and meat was sweet as well as poor flavor. The carne asada was tough. Pork, with onions, peppers, cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole, oh my. The pork was super tender and full of flavor. It was really good. The description on the delivery menu doesn't do it justice. The grilled onions and peppers, almost like a fajita mix, just added to the dish. Grilled onions can really take a dish up a level. Plus, the smell is divine. My BF and I both got one and he loved his too! They gave us lots of chips and salsa that I'll be munching on for days! Awful service! Thieves at the cash register! Never eat there!! Friday evening, our children met us at Fiesta for happy hour and dinner. We had the world's worst waitress! We had chips and salsa 15 minutes before a waitress came to take our drink orders. Another 20 minutes elapsed before we had drinks. I ordered Fiesta Guacamole for the table. When it came, we had no chips. I had to find another server to help. When our food arrived, I had been out of anything to drink and again had to locate another server. The meal ended without receiving a check. I stood in line pay, the cashier took an average of 10 minutes per customer. The server brought our checks to the cashier and they were all incorrect. My wife was charged for 2 drinks she didn't order or recieve. The cashier said she would get he manager to fix the check. 30 minutes later the manager handed me the original incorrect check. She made a minor adjustment but still charged us for bar drinks we didn't get! After waiting for 40 minutes on the manager to make corrections, I gave up. My time is worth more than the $12-13 dollar overcharge. read more

We recently moved here after many decades in California's Central Valley. We have eaten in many Mexican restaurants. We had heard that we would not find any good Mexican food in Chattanooga. Thankfully, that is not the case. We have eaten lunch at Fiesta Mexicana three times and have had consistently great food and service. It is every bit as good as anything we had in California. Worst experience we've ever encountered at a restaurant. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! My family and I was so excited to eat at fiesta Mexicana as we always are. We ordered the molcajete and as the server put it on the table, our daughter noticed multiple things moving on the knife that was stuck in the middle of our food. We looked closer at the moving objects and I kid you not, they were BABY COCKROACHES!!!! The server then took it off the table and literally within 5 min or less, the manager was bringing out a new one and we got up and left. If anyone knows anything about the molcajete, it's the largest and one of the most expensive items on the menu. There is no way iT can take 5 min to make. Not a fresh one that is. We will never return to this restaurant ever again. The food is still great, but half the fun is having a good margarita with our meal. The margaritas here were so good and now they are sour and low in the tequila department. Yuck! A good margarita has tequila, triple sec, agave syrup and lime. No fake sweet and sour mix. The margarita I got tonight was cheap tequila and sweet and sour. Ugh! A more expensive mango margarita was mostly mango syrup and very little tequila. The food gets 5 stars and the margaritas get one star. I'm giving Fiesta 5 stars for many reasons, even though I wouldn't called them authentic Mexican food. They certainly are americanized. That said, they have some of the best waiters in town. St. John's, Alleia... move over these guys have the most attentive wait staff in town. Other reasons Fiesta gets 5 stars... Their Molcajete and Fried Mojara are amazing. I'm obsessed with their Jumbo Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita! They are a good place to go with a lot of people, they can accommodate large parties. And lastly I always enjoy myself when I'm there.
