The salsa wasn't thick but it was tasty with a little heat. I ordered the $9.99 combo of a taco, beef tostada and bean chalupa. Hubby got Burritos Tipicos which came with rice & refried beans. Good to come back, and even better to add that extra star! We had a happy dinner and glad to see the staff's smiling faces. We shared the shrimp cocktail. This baby is off the charts! You get a giant Margarita glass chock full of big plump shrimp, chunks of avocado, chopped onion, cilantro and all swimming in a fragrant citrusy broth. Incredible, totally satisfying app for two, or a full meal for one. Highly recommended. We sat in the bar area which was festive. Margarita was great too! If I could give no stars I would. Went in at lunch for takeout. Got steak tacos which were cooked so tough it was unchewable. The taco shells bland and tasteless, gave me a little cup of cilantro and giant serving of refried canned beans and that was all I got for steak tacos. Overcooked frozen bagged meat, tasteless tortillas and a cup of cilantro with beans. This is by far the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever ate at. It was HORRIBLE, never again this place is just overpriced frozen bagged food and far from legit! They will be out of business soon especially with this food. read more

Been here many times and will be there again soon. The service is fast and the food is always food and good. FYI....somedays the salsa is a little hotter than other days. Sample with the first chip before scooping out a chip full. The Frozen Daquiris are good but could use a little more alcohol. Love the chimichangas with steak, the chicken and beef are also good. Agree with all the reviews that say this place is slipping both in service and food. Been going here since it opened 15 years ago? The service was always fast and friendly then and the food was served hot and never an issue. Last couple years it seems like they just don't care as much. Not sure what happened. We definitely don't go as much as we used to. We rarely go actually. If we want good Mexican food we go to lulus in Richmond, and there are a couple other good mom and pop Mexican places over there. This is the second time here in 2 weeks and the service is so slow that it's not excusable. Not overly busy. 10 minutes in and still waiting on a drink order last time here it was 20 minutes and we didn't have a drink order we finally left. This is a well run establishment with fast friendly service and some of the best food you have ever had. Been there a couple times now and each time o have ordered something different. I got a chicken enchilada to go (because they messed up my order originally and they never got the correct order to me in time to actually eat it with who I was there eating with. When I opened the bag it looked like someone's leftovers... it literally looked like it had a bite taken out of it. When I complained the manager told me it was my fault... after further argument (which mainly consisted of listening to her give excuses) I finally got my money back.. very unprofessional. read more

I love Mexican food, esp when it's spicy, and living in Cali for several years I was definitely spoiled. So I was looking forward to trying this based on other yelpers recommendations saying it was authentic, but the meal was way too salty. Even the beans (which I love usually and use as a gauge on how good a place is) were too salty. The fact it was not crowded at all at lunch time should have been a hint, and still the service was pretty slow. I'd love to give it another chance but I'm rarely in Eaton. read more

I had heard good things before eating at Fiesta Charra. Unfortunately, I did not have a very good experience here. I ordered enchiladas... they were pretty bland. The edges were burned onto the plate. The side of rice was completely dry and hard to swallow. My boyfriend ordered beef tacos and wound up getting sick later. The service was slow. Took about 10-15 minutes for someone to even come take a drink order... and the place was not crowded. It was unbearably hot inside. So me, my husband,and my cousin just left there maybe 55 minutes ago and don't get me wrong the food is alright but as soon as me and my husband got back to where we were parked at i got sick which where we are at is maybe 5 minutes away from the restaurant. My wife ordered some non-descript entree which was not particularly good and the sides were pretty poor. I ordered a hamburger because the other selections I've made weren't very good. It arrived, the bun was totally saturated with grease and someone decided to slap some thousand island dressing on it, and oddly, it wasn't hot so...I thought I'd just skip it but they tried again, using the same burger, which was at this point, dry and kinda burned, I just decided to take it home. I've never cared much for the food here but in Eaton we're limited. The margaritas are ok but over priced. The tacos, burritos, etc., that use ground beef are unseasoned and the ground beef doesn't taste all that great. Overall, this place isn't all that great. Service is usually good and they try it's just that the quality of the raw ingredients is pretty poor. The flan we finished the meal with was dumped on a saucer and was kind of rubbery as if it had been born a while ago. All in all, the only reason we ever go here is because it's in Eaton. It'd be nice to have an Elsa's here. read more

One of our favorite places in town to eat. The menu offers lots to choose from. Some of the best homemade chips and salsa anywhere! The Texas Fajitas, the Burrito Charo and Nachos Al Carbon are some of our favorites! The restaurant is always clean, the staff is always hospitable and attentive. I've eaten there several times because an organization I belong to chooses it for a meeting place. The first time, about 4 years ago, the food was great. But since then, the food has gone sadly downhill, and worse with each visit. The chips and salsa are good and the banana desert was great. But everything in between was pretty bad. Steer clear of the seafood dishes. Food tastes like they use frozen ingredients. Maybe I'm hard to please, but when can honestly say I would have rather eaten a McDonald's fish sandwich....you have to believe I didn't like this place. When I went there years ago it was WAY better! Went there a few months ago and got a tostada, which is what I got the first time I ate there and was amazing! The first time it was made properly with beans on the bottom then meat then the COLD stuff like lettuce, cheese and tomato on top. Last time I ordered them they were GROSS! For some weird reason they heated them up? They were covered in a white cheese that had melted them to the plate so I couldn't even pick them up to eat them as the bottom of the plate was covered in grease, the shells were completely soggy, it had some flavorless hamburger on it with some lettuce thrown on top....that is NOT a tostada lol. Idk what that was but it was nasty. The only thing hot on a tostada should be the meat and re fried beans, the cheese should not be melted and the lettuce etc should be COLD not hot, why on earth would you put a tostada under the broiler to melt the cheese making everything hot and soggy, it's supposed to be a flat taco! When I lived in TX they had the BEST tostada's ever I usually got the Pork Leg. This does not taste like the amazing Mexican food they make in TX that is authentic and made by little old lady's lol. Also don't bother getting take out cause it will all be ruined by the time you get it home, nothing but a cold soggy nasty greasy mess. read more
