It's like Mexican food from Temu. Looks good but tastes horrible. Salsa was like ketchup.

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. I have yet to have enchiladas as good as the ones served here. But their other dishes are all fantastic too. And the portions are very generous. If you're ever in Oxford, then you definitely need to stop here for a great bite to eat and a relaxing environment to eat it in. read more

Basically just a student bar with lots of long tables and TVs food was bland mediocre lacked seasoning. Waiter was pleasant service and food was quick but it was the middle of the afternoon. Food used to be better and decor used to reflect Mexican. read more

Definitely not good Mexican food. We only visited due to an extremely crowded weekend and our thought was "it'll probably be quick"... and it delivered somewhat on that at least. The good: decent drinks and they come around frequently to check if you're ready for another. Lots of bottled hot sauces if you want to add more spice or flavor. The bad: chips were somehow stale, salsa was horrible. Food wasn't that bad, but compared to our favorite places it just wasn't very good either. I'll never have interest in going back. read more

This was the worst food I've ever had in my life. I truly do not recall any time that I have ever had to spit out food into a napkin. The ground beef tacos tasted moldy and rotten. The nachos tasted like they were made of meat that had been cooked weeks earlier and then left in the fridge and then heated up in the microwave. The food is becoming just okay. The service started out great and then grinned to a halt later in the meal. My wife ordered Pablona Salad and received a chicken salad. I came here with my son for dinner. He ordered the fajita burrito and I had the enchilada combo with rice and black beans. While waiting for the food, we had the Chios and salsa they give everyone. The chips were warm and the salsa, with the addition if the habanero sauce made it a good start. The burrito and enchiladas were good. The service was prompt and food comes out very quickly. Came back on a visit 8 years past graduation and all the wonderful memories of Fiesta came flooding back! I'm also happy to report that the food is good as ever, the Margs just as strong, and the people just as hospitable and friendly. After being out of a college town for quite some time, I was also blown away at just how reasonable the prices were as well! really not a fan of this place. the waiters i've had, both male, were rude and condescending. i speak spanish fluently and i've heard the waiters speaking poorly of some of the customers, which i just think is unacceptable. i'm sure some of the waiters or waitresses are very nice, but my experiences say otherwise. The food here has gotten me sick twice. i love mexican food and i usually don't have problems with it. however, i had the enchiladas and cheese quesadilla once and both were cold and undercooked. the rice came cold as well and tasted strange. it also took so long when there were only about 6 people in the entire restaurant...overall service and food quality is extremely subpar. read more

Fiesta Charra has lost its magic! The salsa was different today. Not the "wow" one we had in the past. The service was ok. I ordered a margarita so I could get the little magic shot at the end of our meal. They no longer give you a little magic shot. We returned to this restaurant because of its charm and being in love with all of it! WHEN YOU CHANGE ITS LOST ITS CHARM. I was told I could buy that little tiny shot for $8! I won't be returning! Unfortunately our service was disrespectful and horrible. We waited 2 hours. And we did complain to the manger. He did not do anything. On my way out the door, the manager GRABBED my arm, my PAID receipt and my CREDIT CARD while accusing me of not paying. He looked and the receipt of my payment and returned it and my credit card. Mmmm... Fiesta Charra brings back so many good college memories... including the moment I fell in love with enchiladas! This place is great. As other reviewers have stated, it's not going to live up to Texas or California Mexican food probably, but it is damn good. My husband is a salsa connoisseur and he LOVES the salsa here (as do I!). The service is fast and friendly, and the food is outstanding! I still long for Fiesta Charra all these years later! And for what it's worth... We went here for a "birthday" dinner (in parenthesis because my wife makes amazing homemade Italian for my real b-day dinner, but this was on my actual birthday so we'll count it). We went in not expecting too much. My in-laws are in TX and when it comes to my wife, you're working against many many years of consuming south-Texas Mexican food. It didn't take me long to hop on that bandwagon, either. That said, Fiesta Charra is good. Not great, but come on! You have to know what you're getting yourself in to when going out for Mexican in Ohio. As one of the other reviews noted, the shrimp here is surprisingly tasty. I had a quesedilla. My wife had bean and cheese enchiladas (I think, anyway - that's what she always gets). We were full and satisfied. Best part - I got one of the giant 46oz margaritas (it WAS my birthday, after all). Ok. My family likes this place, but I have to say that yesterday I had one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. I had the hot and spicy lunch burrito and my wife had a duo of chicken burritos. My burrito was not hot at all. The veges that were in my burrito were not uniform size. Some were huge and the others were finely chopped. Kind of a cardinal sin in the cooking world. The rice was runny and bland. The shredded chicken was dry, but palatable. The cheese that they put on it was hard and no salty cheese flavor. The fact that I got the hot and spicy burrito and it wasn't as spicy as the chorizo and queso I got for an appetizer was kind of weird. A few more things I could talk about but the point is that the food was not that good. And I could never convince my wife to go back to this place again. Sad. read more

On a normal day I would've given this a 4. Food and drinks were good. Average service and speed. Decently crowded because of location and it being Friday night. But it was a friend's birthday and one of our friends told the waiter while we were ordering. Towards the end of our meal the staff surprised our table with a sudden celebration and cheering, sang happy birthday while putting a sombrero on my friend's head, and set a shot on the table and lit the surface of it on fire. My friend drank it through a straw. After the shot when it seemed they were done, one of them came behind my friend and put a whipped cream covered napkin into the lower half of her face. I stopped in while visiting Oxford and loved the atmosphere! The walls and decor were fantastic! The food was wonderful as well: came out hot, was inexpensive, great variety on the menu, and generous portions. And the leftovers were still good hours later. I think sometimes college towns have the best Mexican restaurants. Free chips and salsa is always a must, and this was no different. Overrated to be sure IMHO. This place is a cash cow, and a "safe" place for locals, students, and their parents to try "exotic" food. I'm not sure it'd be as popular w/o a liquor license lol. Chips passable, but most of the food is not to my liking and all kind of tastes the same. But like the other Mexican restaurants in the area, it's geared for a midwestern palate. Great Fun! Happy atmosphere, great food. I had the taco salad with chicken it was the perfect size. It had refried beans and warm sautéed onions and peppers topped with salad tomatoes and sour cream. The salsa is very tasty. We will def be back! read more
