This is some place we've gone to off and on for years. We'd drop in for an appetizer and a small pitcher of margaritas. We thought that was going to be it again, but boy did they surprise us! We saw fireworks coming from behind us and when our small pitcher ($19.99) came, so did it come with fireworks! Then we opted for their guacamole, it's always good, and they rolled up a Guacamole Cart and made our dish ($10.99) right at the table. Then our steak, shrimp and chicken fajitas (21.99) came flaming. The steak and shrimp were excellent. It was such a nice and unexpected treat. And a shout out to their new head chef Marcos. I take it this wonderful change is his doing. He's so attentive, personable, and just plain nice. The whole staff is really. We will be back soon! read more

UPDATE: During the early months of the pandemic we didn't go out to eat; when we returned to our favorite restaurant all the staff who had been there for years were gone. We knew all the old waiters and they knew us- our orders, drink orders, even our favorite table! We loved going there and always had a great time. Now, February 2022, more changes have left me very disappointed. The menu has been revised and my favorite dish removed- and the waitress just laughed and said "no" when I asked if they could still make it. The table salsa had a sweet taste that was never there before. I requested their hotter salsa but never received it (used to get it every visit). The two waitresses who came to our table barely were there long enough to get our order; they are not personable like the former guys were. I hate to say it, but I'm going to give that place across town a try. read more

I haven't been here in a couple of years. This visit reminded me why I haven't been here in a while. Stay away!!! Today's visit, April 18, 2024, I placed a phone order for carryout. I ordered the chicken enchiladas suizas and the carnitas dinner. The chicken was dry, like it's been in the slowcooker all day, and they never added any water. My wife needed a couple of drinks just to wash it down. My carnitas dinner was okay. It would have been nice if they had packed my tortillas with it! My meal was supposed to come with tortillas, you idiots! There was only 1 other car in the parking lot, so I don't know how they could have forgotten the flour tortillas! My only regret was tipping them $4 on a carryout order because whoever put my order together did not do their job of ensuring everything was there. Been experimenting with Different Mexican Foods in the Dayton area and found this Restaurant is fast and flavorful ! The alcohol was served cold and the Salsa may be the Best in the area. The Steak & Chicken fajitas are the best I've tasted in months ! The rice & Beans come out Hot and they serve the Best guacamole in the entire area! I highly recommend this Restaurant !! read more

I've been here several times and they always have good food but I get nickel and dimed by greed. Spent $40 on fajitas then had to pay an additional $2 for 2 empty taco shells so I could actually eat the fajitas. Then another $2 for two more. What is this microtransaction bull? If I went to a steakhouse and spent $40 on a steak, they'd be laughed out of town for charging a $2 for a fork fee, a $2 for a knife fee, a $2 for a plate fee. What makes this acceptable? Ate here again recently and wasn't crazy about it. Too expensive for sure. The waitress was very nice but she was a bit disgusted because she had to clean a table that a couple trashed and I came blame her. My service was great and she was friendly. While this was our first visit, we left slightly disappointed. The dining area was clean and well lit. Service was friendly and attentive. The food, however, was the disappointment. I ordered the Chimichanga Special for $13.99 that included one ground beef Chimichanga and refried beans. The portions were small and hamburger grease was visible on the plate. My wife ordered the ground beef taco salad that was delivered to the table with hamburger grease covering the plate around the salad shell. While the food was edible, the quality was lacking as well as the portion sizes for the price. read more

There are too many GREAT Mexican (Tex/Ohio Mex!!) food options here to settle for (overpriced) mediocre, which is what we did the other night at Las Piramides in Huber Heights. This is not a bad place, but it gives off a sort of tired, "past its prime" feel, which would be ok IF their food were more standout, which it's not. The well-intentioned waiters push pretty hard for you to add on an appetizer and/or drinks, but the chips and salsa were fine. Almost all their ho-hum entrees are at least $3-$5 more than other places, at equal or higher quality. And my own (personal) pet peeve? Why is it that (most) Mexican places around here seem to think that we "gringos" want EVERYTHING covered in (mystery) white cheeeeeeeeeeeese sauce??!? They even push a bowl of it as its own separate appetizer... No, gracias!! All in all, not a bad place, and you can certainly find something for just about everyone here from meat to fish to veggie, but they do it just as well, if not better, not too far away... No sooner sat down and had chips and salsa. Awesome side guacamole. Wife had Chicken Enchilada. Great fast service on all requests. Had 3 taco special, chicken and beef hard shell. Also Tostada. The Monday combinations are refined and better than many places in the Dayton area. The salsa is spicy enough to make me order another house frozen margaritas which are very good for a house recipe. My credit card was charged more than I approved. When I brought my receipt and statement to the restaurant to dispute the charge, the server who assisted me was rude and condescending. After she refunded the difference she walked away muttering under her breath. This was the second time in a row that this happened at this restaurant. How doesn't this place have more reviews?! My wife and I just had a superb meal here - last minute idea for my birthday. I've eaten at a lot of Mexican joints, and this one is as worthy of a trip as any other. The decor - it's very Mexican cantina as you'd expect, comfortable, bright and colorful, but totally informal and with a few signs of the building's previous life as a fast food outlet. The staff are very friendly, the two guys we got were quiet but funny and pleasant. Being my birthday they donned me in a sombrero before singing happy birthday to me, which was a nice surprise! So, on to the important part - the food and drinks. My wife ordered the frozen margarita which was great - good and strong. I stuck to my beloved Dos Equis Amber. Great selection of other Mexican beers there too I might add. For our meals I had the special burrito with steak. Highly recommended. The beef was flavorful and tender - not just chewy old cheap cuts hidden amongst some rice. Great balance of flavor with the onions and spices. Quite mild, but ultra savory and especially more-ish with the queso sauce. My wife had the enchilada supreme which was just lovely. So full of flavor. For dessert I had the xangos (chan'gos) which were lovely, if a little overwhelmed by the sickly sweet syrups. Well worth $5 of anyone's money though. My wife had the fried ice cream which she thoroughly enjoyed. All that, plus a couple of beers and a 24oz frozen margarita for $50 makes this little gem the bargain of the century. I've yet to try any of the other Mexican restaurants in huber, or Dayton for that matter, but I'm confident when I do las piramidas will remain amongst my favorites. We are not from the area and it was fairly late when we were looking for a place to dine. Many places were closing at 9pm and it was a little after 8 so we found Las Piramides and since it didn't close until 10 we gave it a shot. We were a party of 5 and when we arrived there were no other diners. We were seated and our drink order was taken. Everyone ordered and I ordered a Coke. A Pepsi was brought and I was disappointed because I do not care for Pepsi. So I told the server that I did not want it and would just have water. The manager came and asked me what the problem was and I told him. I showed him the menu where it said Coke but they are serving Pepsi. I thought that was going to be the beginning of a horrible experience. However, it was quite the opposite. We ordered our food which included a guacamole appetizer. While we waited for the appetizer the manager brought me a Coke in a glass bottle. He told me he searched the cooler because he thought there was one. And sure enough he found one. It was quite kind of him! The guacamole is made in house and tastes delicious. Burritos, enchiladas, and tamales were ordered. The food was plentiful and everyone loved it. The service was excellent and if we are ever in the area again we definitely would return! read more

I've been here multiple times and every time I leave I ask myself "Why did we go there again?" Unfortunately the answer is always because it's the closest Mexican restaurant to our house. We consistently receive lackluster service here -- last time our waiter put down our food on a different table so that he could answer the phone & then had a five minute phone conversation while our food was sitting a few tables away from us. I checked this place out yesterday as one of my friends had a coupon for buy one get one free lunch! I had low expectations to start, but was pleasantly surprised. I had the lunch taco plate. It was YUMMY! The flavors of the beef and the cheese were great! The service was also excellent. Our waitress was awesome and very attentive.
