Tacos

An absolute hidden gem in Dayton! Some of the most delicious Mexican food you will find! Even though it's a tiny little place, it's super casual and everyone is fast and friendly and will help you navigate the menu to try new things! You can let go wrong with tacos but I love try new things off of the "Authentic Mexican" section like Tortes and Sopas!

By checking in, I got a 10% discount!! The service was very fast too. I have plenty for eating later in my fridge.

The food here was really good. Unassuming spot close to downtown. The bathrooms are located outside, and you need to ask for a key from the front desk to use. We ordered the cheese dip with the chips, tacos, and tres leche cake for dessert. Only bummer was that we were wanting to redeem the yelp offer but they rang up the check too quickly for us to pull it up, and wouldn't re-ring to honor the code. Would still stop by here again.

SKIP!! I ordered a BYO Burrito and Churro through Uber Eats. The burrito had a lot of lettuce used as filler. The majority of each bite just tasted like lettuce and sour cream. The Al pastor was average. Overall, If I ate here again, I would order tacos because there shouldn't be as much filler like the burrito.

Definitely a hard pass. Just don't do it. The inside is small, parking is a decent size, drive thru window, and quick service. We sat down by the booth near the door which was the only seat available. The booth behind me was just terrible the kids were awful and even got nasty stuff from there fingers in my hair. The inside has approximately 10 tables and the booths are on the smaller side (if you are bigger you will have issue sitting in the booths). With this being said and it was packed 1 guy waiting for take out decided to take a 4 person table to wait on his to go order and the employees didn't ask him to move where people who was dining in could sit. The food was blah, we got taqitos (6) and they were definitely overcooked. The lengua tacos where ok not much flavor and no texture like other restaurants that throws the meat on the grill to crisp it up some. Then I did a check in when we walked in and the owner said they don't except coupons when a 10% off popped up once checked in. The best thing I can say about this place is its cheap but then again you get what you pay for. Go a little further down the street and hit up the amazing food truck on the right side if you are looking for authentic mexican

Very good and spicy enchiladas verde. Chips and salsa were tasty with the salsa having good consistency and flavor. Rice and beans were better than average

Pozole and side condiments, yum!

Wow. I'm always on the lookout searching for some authentic and delicious Mexican food. Most places fall short.. not this place! The chips and salsa are the beginning of a good experience and TM brings out fresh warm chips and great salsa. I tried the menudo and pozole and it has to be some of the best I've tried anywhere.. including Mexico.. I'd say it reminds me of my mom's cooking. We've liked this place for a while but I waited to do a review to see if it was consistent enough. They do not disappoint. As a last note, the staff is very nice and helpful. I'd rather eat here than many of the more fancy places. Food is better, prices are better, and it's overall a down to earth place that'll leave you wanting to come back like it does for us. Hope you enjoy!

This food was absolutely amazing. I think it was the onion that sent it to the top. The jalapeños were just hot enough. Service was quick and it's a hole in the wall which I think makes the food taste 10x better but that's just probably placebo. I will go back for sure since I've been searching Dayton for a good Mexican restaurant.

She noticed that we were looking at the full menu and quickly let us know about the lunch menu on the back. Great suggestion! I had the chicken taco salad. The chicken and beans were really well seasoned and the guacamole on top was great. To top it off, they have Dos Equis Amber on tap. Yum!! I can wait to go back and try dinner sometime!

The salsa is always my first test and they passed. That's always a good sign. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas. We got the Texanas. It was very good and there was a clear presence of alcohol. Another good sign. Everything on the menu was reasonably priced and they had a great selection. Two of us ordered fajitas and the other ordered burritos. The food came out all at the same time and it looked really good. The portions were HUGE. Everything tasted as good as it looked. Another good sign. The service here was excellent. When in the area craving Mexican, this is your place! We walked out of a nearby Mexican place that stunk badly and didn't serve alcohol. It was also empty. Las Margaritas had a good crowd.

PULPO BRASAS v PULPO KORA Our server suggested Brasas because she thought Kora was too spicey for us - bad advice - we recommend Kora. What does octopus taste like? Not chicken, not lobster, not...; octopus taste like octopus, and Sonora Grill offers best octopus in Dayton. Began researching Yelp for special Birthday restaurant - usually goto Flemings, Oceano, and/or similar properties. Travel Tip: do check menu Spanish definitions to avoid order errors. An advantage of residing in the Greater Dayton Metropolitan Area is the fact that there are several dining options and Sonora Grille was not on our radar. Also there seems to be a healthy turnover of restaurant properties, and we do attempt to be aware of our options. Our search: Yelp Best Seafood restaurants Greater Dayton Metropolitan Area. One expects Jays and Oceano to be listed; however, there are a few which we would not list. Reviews and ratings can be subjective, and personal preferences may vary; we have no interest in sports bars or "loud" fried food eateries. We can depend upon Yelp whilst researching: Here are 5 Star Reviews for Sonora. Several of these reviews encouraged us to visit Sonora Grill Seafood Steak Bar & Grill. Phenomenal and authentic food... Best tasting OCTOPUS, in Ohio of all places!! Did not expect a fancy seafood place inside of a latin market! I was looking for the perfect place that serves steak and seafood for my husband's birthday..... This place is a hidden gem.... Best food I have ever had in Ohio, great service as well.... We have studied the menu and our plan: FRITURAS DE MAR 21.99 bring 2 small plates to divide Calamari rings, octopus pieces, and seasoned shrimp coated in crispy flour, served with tartar and chipotle dressing. CALDO BIRRIA -- 20.99 serve in two bowls Caldo birria, also known as birria en caldo, is a rich and flavorful Mexican stew that has gained immense popularity for its tender meat and savory broth. PULPO BRASAS 28.99 Perfectly cooked in a butter marinade with garlic, soy sauce, and chipotle served with rice and salad. Mounted on corn husks. FILETE NAYARIT 24.99 Curvina fillet covered with shrimp, octopus, and garlic bell peppers served with rice and salad. Pasta del Mare Seafood mix cooked in tomato sauce, onion with fettuccine pasta. Churro's We do expect to request take away boxes following dining. Throughout our 60 year relationship, my wife enjoys desert as an appetizer, and today is no exception. The Churro's are delivered in a flash; we discovered this special treat nearly 50 years ago during an expedition to Spain and Portugal. The very best Churro's were prepared by roadside vendors, and our friends, Bill and Ellen Rose agreed. I also requested that CALDO BIRRIA be served prior to the entrees, and this is a delightful dish. As experienced Sunday Diners, we arrive at 11:00am to avoid the "church rush." Church folks have not yet discovered this excellent venue. Venue: a distinct Hispanic dining event; large, well-lighted restaurant with very loud music - we encouraged management to decrease volume. Sophia was our delightful young server; her English was passable; she did not quite understand why my wife wanted churros as an appetizer, but the churros soon came, and my wife observed that these taste like Spain. Sonora Grille reminded us of some fine restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. My dear wife finally elected CAMARONES AL GRILL, and we offer 5 stars to menu and to dining. Overall a Five Star experience; pays to get off the beaten path. Following lunch, my wife suggests an Open House to view Benham Grove venues for an upcoming event. Next she opts for a Sunday Estate Sale....

Wife and I went to Krazy Taco 937 tonight with already high hopes because of its great online…read morereviews. To say we were not disappointed is an understatement; we were stunned at how enjoyable the experience was. Everything.. EVERYTHING about this place is wonderful. Service was very attentive, friendly and helpful (and our waitress had only been working there 1 month.) The overall ambiance was stimulating and captivating. Stimulating because the music Powerhouse 60s hits from Ray Charles, Tom Jones, the Beatles and more was a *perfect* choice to enjoy yet not disrupt quiet conversation. Stimulating because the decor was so unique and interesting. And because just the vibe of everyone in there really enjoying themselves was palpable. What about the food you say? Every ingredient of all 4 different taco choices we made was wonderful; fresh, tasty and well prepared and presented. It's not very close to us but we are already excitedly figuring out when we can get back there - and I'm confident we are going to become regulars. It's a small place so going at peak meal hours might risk waiting. They have about 10 tables as well as another 8 or 10 stools at the bar. We did not drink so cannot review that aspect. We were told the place had come under new management in the last few months. As well as that place seemed to be functioning, we would never have guessed that. PS I didn't know until we ordered that they were giving free tacos to veterans, so that's a really cool mark on their patriotism and sense of community. PS 2 Small warning: The bench seats at the east (entrance) wall cut off circulation in my legs.
