We were last here YEARS ago, when this spot was home to the 55 Grill, and were happy to see it "hopping" again, with a reasonable, covid-sized crowd, nice decorations, good music, and definitely something for everyone... Looking forward to coming back in warmer weather to try their two open air patio spaces!!

The chimichanga was on specials and it was beautifully presented, almost reminding me of a giant dumpling! You can choose from a variety of different options for protein, so I chose steak. It had a creamy sauce surrounding it, and also came with salad and rice. The rice was flavorful and the salad had some guac on it, so it was creamy and good. The Al pastor torta was more like a flat bread/ pita sandwich, and was filled with diced Al pastor, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. We ordered a side of grilled onions and peppers, which were spicy and went well with the torta. We ordered jalapeños but we were served Serranos, which were even spicier! El Bueno Taco - Fairfield Commons Mall A 90s Mall Food Court…read moreThrowback... but make it delicious Walking into the Fairfield Commons food court felt like stepping straight back into a 90s mall montage--bright colors, neon vibes, and that classic food‑court energy we all secretly miss. And right there, tucked across from Bath & Body Works, is a small, non‑chain gem that absolutely deserves your attention: El Bueno Taco. Before you roll your eyes at "mall food," hear me out. This place is the real deal. The Food We ordered three Al Pastor tacos and a chorizo & steak sopes, and let me tell you--this is where El Bueno Taco shows off. Al Pastor Tacos Perfectly seasoned, slightly smoky pork with that signature hint of sweetness from the pineapple. The meat is tender, juicy, and packed with flavor in every bite. It's the kind of taco that makes you pause mid‑chew and go, "Oh... okay, they're not playing." Chorizo & Steak Sopes The sopes come out thick, warm, and beautifully crisp on the edges. The steak is tender and well‑seasoned, the chorizo brings that bold, savory kick, and the whole thing is layered with fresh toppings that make it feel hearty without being heavy. It's comfort food with personality. The Vibe Typical mall parking--well‑lit, plenty of space, easy in and out. The food court is on the second floor, and El Bueno Taco is easy to spot thanks to the fun, colorful décor that gives the whole area a cheerful, welcoming feel. Final Thoughts If you're craving tacos that taste like they came from a street‑side taquería rather than a mall, this is your spot.
