We have been visiting ElSombrero for over 20 years. Its has been a "GOTO" for my family and always a special place. They have the ability to accommodate large parties for get togethers, or intimate "Date Night" with small table or the round cubby built in booth with privacy. The Salsa is amazing and always prepared fresh. This is the best hand made salsa of any restaurant I have ever had, HANDS DOWN! I have never had a meal here I did not like I've had everything on the menu at least twice. My favorite is off the menu, grilled chicken nachos, with black refried beans. The chicken Taquitos are great, and one of my new favorites is the Chipotle Chicken, extra spicy with tortillas. The house made Sangrias and margaritas are always on point! The service here is like family. Everyone is so nice! Easily the best Authentic Mexican Restaurant in Miami county and I'd go as far as saying the state of Ohio. It is that good!

22 of us met to celebrate a friends birthday. Even though that was a big group, the restaurant took very good care of us. They can handle large groups! Chips & salsa were out first. Crisp chips and a very nice house made salsa. I had a two burritos, a spinach and mushroom and a chicken burrito. They came covered with a nice sauce and cheese. Black beans were my side. It was all too salty but tasted good. All the others had a variety of things and everyone seemed pleased. Portion size on most if not all was large. Beer selection is not great but they did have Negro Mondelo beer which I enjoy.

This is a little gem. The food is amazing and well-priced. Portions (even for lunch) are quite large. The staff are attentive and super friendly. I will be back, again and again. Clean cantina and quick service.

    The best salsa hands down.

This restaurant has been a staple in Miami County for over 20 years. It's my favorite place to chow down on some chips and epic salsa. Pro tip ask for the hot salsa and mix it with the mild. Some of my favorite dishes are: Pollo ala crema, flautas, burrito el grande (try with picadillo and whole beans), and the enchiladas. (cheese and onion oh my). My husband also has tried and enjoys the chorizo con huevos.

    Tacos Al Carbone! AMAZING!!!!

I was told there's an arcade. (But I didn't see it). I was welcomed immediately upon entering, and the young man had on the coolest shirt. I had a few laughs, it made a Klondike reference, he wore the shirt but had no clue, you had to experience it to get the pun. ( they sell them). I chose to sit at the bar. Then there I met the barmaid..... who was so bubbly and pretty and no I didn't say that because her shirt said that.(LOL) She showed me the special of the day both food and drink. I tried the spicy tequila shot made by the house with jalapeños...meh.. it wasn't hot enough for me but it was still ok. BUT the vegan taco that I had was soooo good. Who knew theres VEGAN TACOS! YES PKEASE!!! There was cauliflower instead of chicken inside but you could not tell the difference. IT was amazing. I had my friend take a bite and I got a 2 thumbs up(lol. Some interesting "new" Mexican choices on their menu, and that, along with quick, attentive service, reasonable prices, and a cozy, though spacious atmosphere, made for a MUY BUENA choice here in Troy!! They've got some tempting cocktails, but the Mr. went for a XX draft and I had agua (que aburrida!!) He ordered choripollo, which was a HUGE chicken breast w/plenty of chorizo and cheese, and I ordered a MASSIVE bowl of their crema de elote (cream of corn) soup, which was ok, but kind of watery and a bit bland. I spruce the leftovers up the next day, and made a hotter, creamier soup that was still two portions!!) and two chiles rellenos off of the a la carte menu. Yum!! We were last here YEARS ago, when this spot was home to the 55 Grill, and were happy to see it "hopping" again, with a reasonable, covid-sized crowd, nice decorations, good music, and definitely something for everyone... Looking forward to coming back in warmer weather to try their two open air patio spaces!!
