The broth that the seafood stew came in was so flavorful and perfect for dipping the warm crusty bread in. Would definitely come back. This place still has quite a few kinks to work out. The food was subpar and overpriced. The atmosphere is stylish but bring a warm coat or jacket, the AC was blasting! Our appetizers were served without napkins or cutlery, soup was served without spoons. As a party of four, no one was impressed by the appetizers (twelve hour onion dip and the special that evening; "bruschetta" with mozzarella, prosciutto, and arugula pesto) nor the entrees- burger, scallops, hanger steak and angry trout. Everything was bland. I had to ask that they remove the head of the trout (with fish tail in its mouth?) as it was totally unappetizing. And unnecessary. The only saving grace was the cocktail: I do recommend the Secret Garden. Tasted very fresh. However, the wine list needs work too. I hope they can make the necessary improvements soon. Plenty of better places in town, especially Urban Kitchen right across the street. read more

This is the place to eat in Bozeman. My wife and I have eaten here 4 times already during our stay at the Armory and the food and service have been amazing. I suggest the 12 hour onion dip to start your meal and any of the mains on the menu. My Armory Burger was cooked to perfection just as I was requested and was delicious. The scallops were prepared perfectly and so good. Both Kayla and Courtney were very friendly and helpful. The deserts are all delicious and you cannot go wrong. A few weeks in advance I booked a 7:15 reservation for dinner. We arrived at 7:09 and were placed right next to the chefs. Typically this is a great seat but in this case it was quite unpleasant. Expo manager and cooking staff were arguing, chef was cussing and constantly upset by other staff members, servers were annoyed and displeased as well. They had ran out of two of their main dishes and we were urged to order the second most expensive menu item, the Delmonico. The server gave raving review of the taste and assured we would love it. She heavily upsold us on every little thing and it felt like we couldn't truly explore the menu. It took an hour and 20 minutes to get our food and I was so saddened by what we received. The steaks were cold and partially undercooked, the potatoes had an off taste, and it was missing all of this "flavor" she had preached about. We also ordered a side of brocolini which came out severely burnt. The waitress said they make everything fresh in house yet I saw them unwrapping our precooked cornbread and heating it up, so is this truly made in house? For the $200 bill we walked away with I was extremely disappointed. Many tables who arrived after us were served before us and I felt like making a reservation meant nothing. I was so excited to try this place out but I sadly do not think I will be returning or recommending it to anyone. read more

Great service. Mediocre food. The restaurant is very nice, the decor is sort of a god father theme, very pleasant. We ordered the charcuterie plate to start. They had a good selection of cheese and cuts. My husband ordered the herb-roasted chicken and I ordered the super club 16oz ribeye. I tried the chicken and it was good, flavors were great and it was cooked the way chicken needs to be cooked. My steak, although the flavors were there, I have come to terms with myself that I will never order steak from any restaurant every again. I mean I honestly don't get it. Montana is known for locally bought and fresh everything, yet what I ate was tough and chewy. It's sad, that you pay so much for meat and it's nothing more then disappointing. I asked for RARE, I got a medium well. Pathetic. This was the second steak of the week and I will assume that no one here knows how to cook a rare steak. So sad. Anyways, ya. I have good news and bad news about Fielding's restaurant in The Kimpton Armory Hotel in Bozeman. First the good news, they were open for breakfast on the 4th of July. I tried Jam, Nova Cafe and The Western Cafe. All were closed. People are allowed to enjoy their holiday as much as the next person. The bad news is, the service was, well the best way to describe it would be, terrible. They weren't busy at all. A few other tables. One table of probably 10 to 12 people, including the children that wouldn't stay in their seat and waisted their food completely. The waitstaff literally were bringing items to that table piecemeal. Sometimes one plate others two at a time. Not just moments apart, 5 and 6 minutes apart. Don't bring the food out like that, all at once or at least only moments apart. We just had the most basic breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. It took about an hour, I think egg McMuffins next time. And I haven't had any fast food like that in over a year. We tipped 25%, it wasn't her fault except getting coffee, I asked the hostess twice while going by, we also had to request flatware and napkins. The food was only not anything too different than iHop, but much more expensive. I can't think of any reason to try them again, fool me once......., you know. read more

Covid safe and delicious! Very happy to see that everyone here - from the hostess, to waitstaff, to chefs were all wearing masks. We've been a few other places where they wore them, but down past their noses. Not helpful. I felt safe here in comparison. We had a few cocktails and all were great. Delightful little restaurant! We sat in a cozy booth, the staff was very friendly. For starters we enjoyed the Mac n Cheese, and the 12 hour dip. Delicious! The Mac n Cheese was creamy, with yummy small chunks of flavorful ham. Topped with a crunchy lightly seasoned breading. I would order again in a heartbeat! The 12 hour Onion dip was very good- accompanied by fresh carrot & Celery sticks, kettle chips, sliced red bell peppers and radishes. Mains: Flank Steak and Scallops. Flank Steak came in perfectly cooked pieces, along with some great French fries. Scallops were fabulous, accompanied by a delicate light sauce and a few bits of corn. Both entrees were excellent. Desserts: Vanilla Creme Brûlée was a lovely custard with perfectly caramelized topping. A little "shortbread bridge" spanned the brûlée, topped with small pieces of fruit. Beautifully presented. Brown Pound cake was moist and sweet with a side of salted caramel ice cream- yum! Presentation here was lovely as well- tiny dollops of fresh cream & pineapple triangles topped out this dessert. All pros- the only con was that it felt like an absolute iceberg in there. Way too cold for the guests. Bring a warm cardigan! read more

Very fun, buzzy , cheery place. We had a fabulous meal here - pork belly pot roast, swordfish, arugula caesar, polenta cakes, steaks - all were delicious! Very attentive service from Tracy and the manager was checking up on things in a very nice way to be sure we were taken care of. Had the lemon tart and fried ice cream for dessert - both delicious! Loved the atmosphere - some families with older kids, other couples, small groups, everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves. Best thing I noticed, we were seated near the open air kitchen and the chefs all looked as though they were happy and having fun cooking for us - good to see!!! Went for brunch on Christmas morning and was very pleased. Ordered two eggs, sausage, toast, potatoes and was very pleased. The toast was sourdough with confit garlic, amazing. Apricot jam was delicious on top. Eggs were over medium as I asked and sausage was superb. Don't forget to get the bottomless mimosas it's 5$ more and worth it. read more

Our evening began in the rooftop bar of the Armory Hotel; where the drinks and service were great, offering a favorable first impression. The service and drinks continued to be top notch, upon our arrival at Fielding's, but this is where the positive experience ended. The menu wasn't that interesting, to begin with, but the food really disappointed when it arrived to the table. The textures and temperatures, of every dish, were off. All that we sampled lacked basic seasoning (except the burrata's pesto, which was inedibly salty): Overcooked salmon, tepid collard greens and creamed leeks, over dressed salad, undercooked bacon and lardons. It seems like the cooks and chefs have already given up at this recently opened establishment. If the hope was to add a cosmopolitan facet to Bozeman's dining scene, go back to where you came from, relearn the basics, and return with a little more finesse. We came to celebrate a special occasion, and were sorry that we did. read more

What a waste of time. I was a hotel guest (paying 500+/night in a premium room) and came down for an early dinner. Yes early on a Friday night which was before 6pm. I didn't have a reservation and there were a ton of open tables. The host/manager said it would be about 10 minutes for a table so I mentioned I would be grabbing a drink at the bar. Over the course of 2 drinks I noticed all of the good tables being seating leaving 2-2 tops isolated in the middle of the restaurant still vacant. The bartenders were great and very attentive. It's a good thing because I was at the bar for about 25 minutes and after a glare at the host/manager he came over and asked if I was being taken care of. Then mentioned that my table would be right up. 10 minutes went by and yes, you guessed it, I was awarded one of the lonely 2 tops. I asked why I sat for over 30 minutes as a hotel guest to get the same table that was available when I walked in. Apparently, there was a cancellation so I was 'lucky.' I paid my drink bill, thanked the bartenders and could not wait to get out of there. I had a great experience at the whiskey bar in the basement. Thankfully they saved the day. read more

The menu was simple and made it easy to decide but at the same time have a great variety of breakfast options. I think more restaurants should do this. The pricing was a little more pricy but the quality of the food was amazing! I didn't expect it to be as good as it was since it was in a hotel but I was ultimately impressed! River was our server and was so welcoming and accommodated to everything we would ever expect out of a restaurant. Overpriced "fancy" food. Side salads were $11-13 dollars and had just a trace of dressing and Arugula lettuce for the Caesar. Very small salads. No embellishments to them at all. No bread served. The angry trout was so smokey that my friend couldn't eat more than a few bites. Drinks weren't great. Ordered Moscow Mules and they came in glasses. Not very good. Desserts were good. Small but good. Hanger steak was delicious but felt they could do better than French fries as a side. Staff is awesome and very accommodating. read more

The waiter even got my husband to take a whiskey shot from the bone after we ate the bone marrow - that's a first!! It was really fun/funny.
