Our pup waiting **patiently** for his "Chicago dog" cookie!
    Mikayla D.

We love seeing the fido to go truck on our street every Wednesday evening! Miles, our 100lb chocolate lab, practically drags me down the street. The truck has tons of treats, toys, bones, and frozen yogurt. It is often hard to decide! They also have a rewards program and let me tell you... It's the fastest punch card we've ever filled up! If you ever see the yellow truck on a walk with your pup (they post on social media everyday where they will be and when) you must stop by for treats!

Sora's patiently waiting for her sample.

The pups love seeing the truck every Tuesday!...almost as much as they love their ice cream treats.

It's also ridiculously cute seeing all the dogs by the yellow truck, trails wagging excitedly.

It wasn't nearly as busy as I'd thought for right before the concert, but still had plenty of people. Bartender was super attentive and friendly, constantly checking in, chatting with us, and getting us what we needed. I should mention that the seating situation was odd-- we had a party of 2 and the options we were offered were stand at the bar or go upstairs (outside, and it was nearly 100°). We took the standing at the bar option. There were several tables in that area not occupied the entire time we ate there, and to add to the oddness, a party of six came in as we were on our way out the door and they were offered indoor seating with a 20 minute wait. Weird! But food was worth it and would go again if I'm in the wrigleyville area!

For Restaurant Week 2026, you were met with a drink (beer, N/A, or bourbon), one starter 'snack', entree and dessert for $48. In comparison to other participating restaurants this was a steal. I visited without a reservation on Wednesday evening, and there was ample seating. My friends and I enjoyed a sample of foods from the #CRW menu. For the 'snacks' we got the brisket devil eggs, the brisket loaded fries, as well as the chicken wings. All were very tasty however, the loaded fries were the star. Now here is where things got good. For our entree we had the 'Little City Eats' which was brisket, 1/2 rack ribs, chicken legs AND TWO sides (which I got the mac n cheese and the baked beans.) All the food was tasty and for the tasting menu, I was impressed with how much food we were provided. To go containers are needed. For dessert we got the banana pudding, we were scraping the bottom of the jar. Sweet but not overbearing and layered with wafers, and whip cream! Overall the food, was tasty, and the service was attentive and knowledgeable.

Obviously, it's not the best tacos in the world, but they have a really nice patio and it's so convenient before a Cubs game. I got the al pastor taco and the chicken and both were super flavorful and tasted fresh. They also gave us free chips and guacamole because it took a little bit to get the chips. Chips were delicious! Service was great all around. Drinks were pretty strong and I don't know I was pleasantly surprised compared to the wicker park location! I would definitely come again before a game

The Wrigleyville location has a fun, energetic atmosphere that's hard to beat, especially on game day. Being able to enjoy dinner while catching the action from Wrigley Field added a unique touch to the experience and made the meal feel like part of the game-day festivities rather than just another dinner stop. Service was another bright spot. The staff was friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving. Drinks and food came out quickly, and the overall experience felt well organized. The standout for me was the classic margarita. It was well-balanced, refreshing, and tasted like it was made with quality ingredients rather than relying on an overly sweet mix. It paired perfectly with the tacos, and it's honestly the item I'd be most excited to order again on a future visit. For food, I tried the asada tacos, al pastor taco, and a side of beans and rice. Flavor-wise, both tacos were enjoyable. The meats were well-seasoned, juicy. My biggest complaint was the tortillas. They lacked the freshness I was hoping for and had a texture that almost felt a little stale, which kept the tacos from reaching the next level. With better tortillas, I think these would be much more memorable. The beans and rice were just okay. The beans had decent flavor, but the white rice felt pretty plain and didn't have much of the character or seasoning I typically expect from a Mexican side dish. It filled out the meal, but it's not something I'd specifically order again. While everything tasted decent overall, you're definitely paying a premium for the location and atmosphere as it's rather pricy for what you get. Overall, I'd give Big Star 3.5 out of 5 stars. The lively Wrigleyville setting, friendly service, and solid classic margarita make it a fun place to grab a bite before or after a Cubs game. While the tacos have good flavor, fresher tortillas and a more authentic side of rice would have elevated the meal considerably. I'd happily return for another margarita and the game-day atmosphere, but there are other taco spots in the city I'd choose first if my priority was the food alone.

They offer happy hour M-F from 3-5pm and have $6 margaritas, $6 draft beers, & $6 mini tacos. Our group started out with a round of frozen and on-the-rocks classic margaritas. The taste was a bit tart for me but everyone else enjoyed it! For my second drink, I got the Mezcal Margarita which was perfectly balanced as smokey and refreshing. For food, we started with the Chile Con Queso & Elotes. Both were absolutely delicious and easy to share. For mains, most got the BYO Taco Platter where you get to mix and match 3 tacos from the menu. Our server, Gisele, said her favorite taco was the Baja Fish but the Crispy Cauliflower was underrated. For entrees, she recommended the Crispy Chicken Torta or The Molcajete. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals! Everything tasted fresh, made to order, and great flavor! I would certainly come back to enjoy more!

We also shared a guac for the table which was yummy. My only complaint is that with 30 minutes left on our package, we put in an order for mimosas twice. No one came to bring them, we couldn't find our waiter, and now we are past our 2 hour limit but we've put our order in twice before the time was up! It was odd, and we couldn't find our waiter so we had to ask someone else. It wasn't a super busy time of day so not sure what happened but not a big deal. I'd still come back for sure! The breakfast tacos looked very yummy.
