My issue is not with the service provided as they do a good job, however concerns are not handled in a nice manner. If you don't have concerns or questions on anything other than a nice cut without any extra integrity for your animal please disregard this review. I was very disappointed when I arrived today and the AC was not working. It was hot inside and very uncomfortable. I asked to see the room my let had to be in for 2 hours on a hot Saturday. I took her in at opening so it was not concerning that it was hot as they just opened and getting set up. 2 hours later at pick up there was a mild odor and it was hot . I simply asked to see the room my pet was in for 2 hours in the heat to make sure it was OK. Because the owner was very rude about me presenting this concern, I said I will be calling animal control for a welfare check out of concern for humane integrity. Why wouldn't they disclose that their AC is not working so people can make a decision whether or not they want to leave their pet there? The owner is very rude responding to simple concerns. I was shaking when I got out of there and called Katie at Anchored Paws to make all my future appointments only there. From the beginning I never had any questions on integrity of care for my dogs, and never had to ask questions of concern dealing with humane conditions. I learned my lesson and I am not taking my pups anywhere else. I was reassured when she said they had to close for some days when their AC was broken out of consideration for the humane treatment of animals. I want to be confident that my animal not only gets a nice cut but also that they are in acceptable conditions at all times. Andys always left my Yorkie and Yorkie Poo looking great but the owners approach to well being concerns is horrible. Needless to say I will not be going back. Will rather pay more somewhere else and not have any well being concerns then be disrespected about it. When stating I will call for a welfare check the owner told me I am putting the business at risk and "Whats your problem?" Why did you put my animal at risk today? I asked if the AC was working last week when the city was in a severe heat warning. I was told "We are working on it" The least you could have done is reassured me she was in a safe environment by showing me the space she was in instead of treating me like I was intruding. I brought my precious, 5 year old rescue Schnoodle, Bullet, to Canine Choppers for the first time…read morelast week @11:00 a m. . I told them I wanted a puppy cut with Schnauzer face and fluffy tail. The last time he was groomed was just before I moved to the Beverly area about 10 weeks ago. I told them I brushed Bullet every night, he had some matting and those crusties around his eyes. While waiting to pick him up, I could hear Bullet whining terribly. I questioned it, and was told he was just a bit anxious because it was his first grooming there. A groomer brought a little black dog out, and I thought, "Aw, cute dog but really skinny." I didn't know it was my Bullet, until he jumped up on my lap. I was horrified, day the least. When I asked what happened, I was to,d he was matted all over, he didn't like being cut, and they had to shave him!!! The groomer said his face fur came off in one piece as she shaved him. What the hell. I'm attaching "before and after" pictures of Bullet so you can understand why I've given such a poor rating and why I will NEVER bring Bullet anywhere near that place again. Not only does he look like a hairless cat, my sweet, cuddly baby who loves people and other dogs, is now skittish and scratches himself almost non-stop.
