This Petco staff helped me so much today. I accidentally dropped my AirPod case and one of the pods fell under a palette of pet supplies. Frank got it out from under there and was really nice about it. (Sorry Frank! Won't happen again!) Maya and Michelle helped me find a product that helps calm cats and talked to me about other products that can help. I'm thankful for this staff and I hope they have a great summer! First time coming to this location (Petco-Diversey) and it will be my last time! I brought my 20 month old doodle in to get groomed by a Ricardo. I brought in my doodle with hair and picked up a hairless dog! My dog has never been shaven this way before, even when he was matted. He was shaven in the face, ears, and I don't understand why. Not only did they completely shave him but I never received a call with them saying "hey change of plans, I know we said this short but turns out he's shorter". I can go on and on about everything that went wrong and what was said. The manager Frank was able to refund me after several days but his customer service skills are not the best. I will never return to this Petco! read more

Unfortunately, my review is long overdue. My experience with the Petco Clinic is similar to the negative reviews shared by previous customers. But I'm focusing my review on only on the Petco Grooming Salon. I just wanted to take time to praise the amazing work of my Dog Groomer Sarah at Petco. She is very professional, has excellent customer service and always has a great smile! Sarah is extremely skilled, patient; has a calming presence and clearly cares about my dog, Parcha. Parcha is a sweet lovely, high energy rescue that Sarah understands very well. At each appointment, I know I'm leaving Parcha in trusting and caring hands. The best part of the Parcha's Spa Day is Sarah's attention to small details that make the grooming experience so special. Parcha always looks great and happy when I pick her up. Not only does Parcha leave with a perfumed shiny coat but a full manicure with her nails done! Thank you Sarah for all your kindness and dedication to the well-being of not only Parcha but all the other pets you care for. New Petco in Logan! This area has a ton of brand new chain-type shops and a bunch of new empty buildings ready for more to come in. This Petco sent me a coupon for their opening so you best believe I took advantage of that. Because it's new, the store is immaculately clean and also really well organized. They have a good selection all well labeled plus a grooming section, doggy bags throughout for messes. I just hope they keep up this lovely clean & organized store and I'll be a regular. It helps that the cashiers are all friendly! read more

Great addition to the Logan Square neighborhood. Finally, a pet store! This place is so nice and shiny and new inside. I love clean pet stores and ones that don't smell like wet dogs. It just makes it so much more appealing to shop, especially when the aisles are nicely organized. I am so into fish now since our aquarium is up and running, and they have a nice selection of them here. If you come on a good day when they get their shipment in, you'll find some nice big fish to add to your aquarium. Cute selection of little rodents such as hamsters, mice, guinea pigs, and ferrets if fishies aren't your thing. They also have baby bearded dragons, snakes, and geckos! Although small, they carry a nice selection of supplies. The staff is also very nice and willing to help you out. Will come back here again! read more

Please if you bring your dog to the pet groomer on Diversey be extremely careful !!!! Brought my dog in for basic grooming picked him up a few hours later and I could sense something was wrong with him. When we got home I noticed blood on his coat only to find out that the groomer had cut him on his side the groomer did not say a word about the incident !!!! Also the grooming area is not kept clean my dog is a total house dog then I was informed by a private salon that he has flea bites and this was the next day my dog NEVER had flea bits until that visit at Petco on Diversey. It appears that the groomers do not care about the animals they are grooming very sad read more

I personally witnessed extreme animal neglect by the employees of this store. They did not clean the ferret enclosure for months. I went to buy dog food and immediately could smell it, and there was a pile of feces in one corner reaching the top of the enclosure. It was approximately 7-8 actual cups, an enormous amount for ferrets taking up a huge space in their cage. This also means there was an equal amount of urine soaked into the wood chips. The ferrets were lethargic and sick. I have no doubt in my mind that it is from being forced to live in their own waste for months. Every single employee of this store walked past these ferrets for over a month and decided to do nothing. I cannot imagine the type of mismanagement that would allow animals to suffer like this. No one seemed to care. I went back a month later solely to check on the situation and the feces had finally been removed, but there was a sign up that said the ferrets were under observation and not for sale. Clearly one of these ferrets died because of the conditions or was extremely sickened from neglect. Absolute cruelty. I would not take my pet to this store for any reason. read more

If I could sue, I would. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. MEGAN, the vetco manager is going to be the cause of anything that happens to my dog and I hope she can live with that. DO NOT schedule an appointment to have your dog seen at this vet. It took me 5 weeks to be seen and when there was a car accident that caused me to be 9 minutes past my appointment time and I warned them an hour early because Google maps saw the accident, she said they have a strict 5 minute policy and nothing she can do. I begged for an exception as a 5 minute strict policy in the city of Chicago is absolutely unacceptable with the kind of traffic we have. All week long I timed out the route for the exact appointment time and it was always supposed to just take 20 minutes. I still left work 2 hours early to give myself 40 minutes instead and never could've imagined I'd still need an extra 9 minutes. Megan then proceeded to LIE to my husband when he called and said "yeah our late policy is 10 minutes. " no the hell it's not! It's a strict 5 minutes! Me and my entire huge family will never aupport another Petco ever again in life just because they ever hired MEGAN! DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE! MEGAN WILL LET IT DIE! read more

I would have loved to give this store a 4 or even 5 star but on one of the busiest days of the year - Black Friday - I hasld to go searching throughout the while store for someone to help me. I ended up at the front register in order to finally get some help! Seriously?! Unacceptable in my eyes, especially on such a busy day! The store only earned a 2 star but was bumped up to a 3 star because of the person that helped me. This place never answers the phones and will leave you're dog in emergency. I come here to get my dog a check up and they always tell me nothings wrong t but I do my own checking and he came with a. I was there today with my 15 year old rescue. he has glaucoma in one eye. the Petco vet has seen him and deemed the eye is ok but provided it doesn't start causing him pain he'll be fine until I can afford to have the surgery to remove it. I schedule an appointment for wash, shed treatment and nails today and after waiting a few minutes for someone to acknowledge I'm at the desk the girl says we can't see your dog because of his eye, mind you the Petco associated vet said ok. this poor dog was rescued last year after it's longtime owner died and surprisingly Smokey enjoyed his visits and the groomers amazingly reported no problems. I'm dumbfounded that a pet store would discriminate and not have any sort of alternative solutions for animals in his condition (simple eye patch) if they are worried or put back by his appearance. As an animal lover and proud papa of 5 critters I'm appalled. Sadly I liked the groomer but will not stand for this sort of blatant disrespect. I've always at checkout added the maximum amount to the Petco animal fund and often refused the "free" gift as I'm normally a silent believer in giving back. I will be filling a complaint with the Illinois Veterinary Licensing and Disciplinary Board and also NEVER will be a Petco shopper again. We left our dog to be groomed for a couple of hours and we were worried at first but when we picked him up he looked exactly the way I imagined it. The groomer was very nice and she also asked about the hair length which I was impressed. She was amazing. Will be going back in a couple of months. read more

I hate that I'm leaving this negative review. Everyone here is so nice, and honestly are doing an amazing job except ALEX. Which happens to be the manager in the morning. For some odd reason he has an ego trip. He thinks his position upholds him to treat people and dogs the way he wants too. I've had two incidents with him, both negative. I'm a loyal customer and take my dogs for a bath every other week. Today he decided to ask me for my rabies vaccination. Which i would understand why, but it should be in the system as i always update at the beginning of each year, and i am a repeating customer every other week and no one had Told me anything. He then proceeded to lie and say that he has never seen me. It was established he was gonna use his "power" to not attend my dog, so therefore i returned to the store with a copy of my current rabies shot. He then started to act as he was a smart person: nothing about Alex is smart. He then stated if i dint like the service i could leave to the nearest Store. Alex is a narcissist idiot who thrives himself on in ego trip because he thinks he's cool riding his bicycle to Work. It doesn't take much to be nice and most important to do your job right. Everyone else does a great job and the store is nice. But Alex is the bad apple and a supervisor i don't understand how he has maintained himself in a respectable position. So future and current customers beware of Alex and his attitude. read more

This place is awful, My puppy was groomed by Ricardo and came back completely traumatized. He came back a total different dog. He wouldn't eat for days, started walking different (as if his tail was pulled or he was hit). It's been a week still isn't himself. Charged 95$!! For my dog to be hurt and not tended to as advertised. This isn't the first time my dog was groomed but it'll be the last time I take him there. 1 star? Yes this place is organized, clean and everything but the thing that really bothered me was that the employees were rude. Me and my brother went to that store a few days ago to buy some fish, we asked the employees for help and they all said they would send someone to help us out: WE WAITED 45 mins to get help. When that finally came some blonde lady comes up to me and says I need to have a fish tank with 1 week of being set up, this really confused me because how in the hell are you gonna know if I have a fish tank. Well I told her I had the tank and she still couldn't sell me the fish because I didn't have a big enough tank. See this kind of this gets me mad because how are they suppose to know if we have it ready or if actually have a tank... I will not be coming back to this store, I waited too long for me not to be able to buy some simple goldfish. Brand new petco within walking distance from my house so that's a plus! I went to use a gift card from my dad and had my two pitties with me, a worker handed me a flyer for pit bulls and American staffy grooming special for the next week. I brought them back for the grooming special and both dogs were clean, nails trimmed nicely and they both smelled nice. They seemed to have been treated well and I picked them up in better conditions than I dropped them off! read more

Called ahead of time to ask if they had healthy looking cat grass in stock and they told me they did. I went to store and felt disappointed at the cat grass they had so i didnt buy anything. I stayed to look around and noticed the store animals are living in poor conditions. For example, i noticed 3 bearded dragons living in the same terrarium. Two beardies were missing the tip of their tails and one beardie had a missing claw. Dragons are known to become violent when living in closed quarters with other beardies. I walked a bit more and felt horrified when i saw a live koi fish feeding off a dead fish in its tank. I immediately looked for an employee to take care of that but it took me a while to find an employee since the store is obviously understaffed. I found someone to help out and he took care of the fish situation right away. I couldn't stick around due to the horror so i left the store feeling traumatized. Dont think I'll go back! read more

Again today i dealt with the situation where Alex the weird groomer denies me service due to the fact that he doesn't like me i had a previous altercation with him where he was corrected by at the time manager of the time contacted me to apologized, following a follow by Jeff the general manager. I was contacted by both of them in the previous matter to apologize about Alex ignorance and his lack of customer service. Well today he decided to re an act the previous altercation by denying me again the right to groom my dog for the second time. It is sad that after a year petco and their management have done nothing to improve their inner structure by addressing issues like these. I was denied services based on a decision that an ignorant person thought was the right choice based on his low judgement of customer service, low level of educational background. Today petco lost a customer, and i have never been this disappointed in my life, nothing was done today and a year later nothing has been done to correct this idiots reality. read more
