Then I saw on Nextdoor that Amanda Daniels was in danger of closing via GoFundMe. Instead of donating I decided to go in and make a purchase, as she carries a brand we use for our cat. The store has a nice variety of brands, and if she does not carry something, she can most likely order it. She is a very hardworking, approachable and knowledgeable owner and animal lover, but is at times overwhelmed with responsibilities. Her strength is apparently grooming dogs, as she always seems to be doing it when I arrive! I can't speak to her work there, but it must be awesome if she is always busy doing it. There is no clerk/cashier on duty, she does it all herself. This has led to some' misadventures' but she is very quick to rectify a problem with utter graciousness. Hopefully she can hire someone soon. If you are in the Bronzeville area, definitely stop in to check out the variety of food and supplies, if your pet is adventurous, but also if you have a dog that needs grooming!

Instead, he received a call that a pitbull had broken loose from its kennel and jumped into Marshy's kennel and attacked him. My dog sustained a neck wound and had to be rushed to the emergency veterinarian for treatment. After an emergency vet visit, tears, and a lot of shock, I brought my dog hurt, with a hole in his neck ungroomed. He sat in a kennel for 1 hr and 30 min before being attacked. Now he is recovering, but the hole in his neck keeps breaking open. I should not have to be dealing with this! No pet owner should have to go through this after leaving their dog somewhere they believed was safe. I'm heartbroken, shaken, and honestly very angry! I didn't get a call from the store manager to check on my dog. They didn't give a damn. PetSmart covered the initial vet bill, I have not been given a clear explanation of how this incident occurred. The store manager stated that there were scratches on the divider but could not explain how one dog was able to access another kennel. This raises serious concerns about facility safety and supervision. Don't take your dog to this shit hole or any petsmart for that matter.

Both have been trained as Service Dogs. They check my blood-sugar level by smell - I am diabetic. Ferris was booked into this location at 613 W. Roosevelt Road, Chicago on July 9, 2025. There was some delay in staff arriving at this location at the booked time of 8:00am, but someone finally arrived and took my dog. He was returned to me at about 11:30am. He looked fine. Subsequently, he has developed a large patch of black hair on what is a light gray to white dog. This was due to some kind of injury being done to him during the grooming session at your facility that damaged the hair in these locations. Perhaps a burn. The abrupt change in color is a known result of skin injury, often during grooming by a careless or inexperienced groomer. This is well-documented including by the AKC. I've also attached a photo showing the injury area. I've owned a Bedlington Terrier for over 16 years and this is the first experience of groomer injury to my dogs. I'm hopeful that there isn't any longterm damage to Ferris Bueller from this grooming. Reports directly to Petco are ignored.

This facility (62 S Wabash) is an intake location. If have questions about animals they are willing to help. So, if you find a lost animal or you can't simply take care of your pet due to a variety of reasons.... You can simply drop the animal to this location and they will try to reunite the lost animal; network with the various animal organizations and/or contact the veterinarian for it's well being.. The staff are very nice, friendly to me and the animals inside. This location has a unique history dealing with a variety of animals. Since this location looks old from the outside, however it's what goes on in the inside that counts. If I had extra money on the side, I would love to give the building a face lift (rehab) because it really needs it. The animals will be temporarily given shelter, food, water, treats, walks, etc. Until the next step (reuniting with their owners, being transferred to an animal location and/or shelter). It smells a little bit and I don't think the smell will ever go away due to it's long-life-legacy of giving care for the animals.
