Keith is the owner and wow...what a throwback to when service was job #1. I called him to explain…read morethe issues I was having with two notebooks. He said bring 'em right over and he'd have a diagnosis by the next day. And get this...NO CHARGE for that evaluation! Turns out both machines had a board level issue and weren't worth repairing. Since he had the machines apart, he offered to just pull the memory and hard drives from them so I could access the data later. Again, NO CHARGE for this service. I greatly appreciate that decency as he said "he didn't fix anything so he couldn't justify charging me anything." I ended up letting him keep the rest of the machines so he can use parts from them or the power supplies. Definitely helped me keep from throwing good money away on non-fixable machines. I can now use that $50 or so towards a new machine. I can tell you for a fact that other local places DO charge a diagnostic fee even when you advise them of very specific issues or conditions the machine is exhibiting. And they generally are very backed up with other machines so you won't get a diagnosis for three days or more. HIGHLY recommended for turnaround time and integrity. If I ever have a future issue with a new machine, I won't hesitate to give Keith a call. Oh...his company name is not on building. But just look for blue building across from Duke O'Brien's and he's in there.

They called me back the following day and had me drop off the computer around 1:00 p.m.. Luckily, they were able to clean it and get it working the following morning. I was really surprised they could get it back to me so quickly. They even took pictures of the coffee on the motherboard, under the keyboard...it was really gross! I felt bad for having them clean up my mess, but it was certainly easier, faster and more economical to fix what I already had.

WavTek Computer service in Crystal Lake. They have very sophisticated equipment to diagnose and retrieve data. Long story short, they recovered everything. They saved everything to a external drive. She has her photos again. To say my wife was ecstatic is an understatement. Emotional tears of joy. Understand they are not a retail store, they are service and network professionals. WavTek saved the day and I highly recommend them.
