Zytek is my go-to for any computer issues. They've recovered really important items when my computer crashed, transferred everything to a new computer for me, and resuscitated my old laptop with a new battery. And the prices are very reasonable! Highly recommend. read more

I was installing an SSD drive on a motherboard and needed a small screw. I called Zytek Services, and the man I talked to said he would give me one. When I got there, he already had a set of screws of the appropriate size in a small bag which he gave to me. I highly recommend this company. read more

This place rocks! If you need your computer fixed, take it here! I have a Toshiba laptop that I basically live in. I make my living as a writer and online entrepreneur, and so I spend all day with it. It started overheating and shutting down, so I knew it needed maintenance. I kept putting it off until one night it overheated, I went to bed, and I found when I woke up that it hadn't properly shut down. It was still hot and running, the fan cycling on and off. I freaked out. No time for online research, I grabbed the yellow pages and found computer repair and called the place with the biggest ad. Turned out this place was a family operation, with 3 generations working the business. The two currently active folks were a father and son, both named Rudy. My initial contact was with Rudy Jr. He was a personable, friendly and helpful guy. I left my baby there at the shop and waited for the call with the diagnosis. Turned out that dust was the culprit, and they went ahead and did their magic. When I got my computer back, it was like new. The overheating problem was completely gone. They had also installed some free software that got rid of close to a thousand bugs and viruses and trojan horses and all that other crap that is floating around online. I thought I had done a pretty fair job at keeping my computer software clean, but it was only pretty fair. They upgraded it to excellent, and now I have the tools to keep it clean too. The one weird thing that happened was that they had changed my desktop around; this was unexpected. I ended up bring the computer back to them and Rudy senior worked patiently with me to explain why the changes were made (more efficiency) and to help me bring back some stuff I couldn't restore myself. Altogether, I had a great experience with these guys. They were both very cool and fun to work with, they did a great job on my computer, their price was very fair, and they were very kind on payment terms. Highly recommended! http://www.zytekservices.com/ read more

I found the shop a while back when I had a computer problem I couldn't fix. Sometimes I can do my own computer stuff but I I'm not a computer guy. That's okay because Paul at Zytec definitely takes good care of my PC and laptop need. His evaluation is free and if he deems your PC it's not worth repairing he will tell you straight out. They're in it for the long run and that's why he's not trying to retire on every repair. That's why I'm giving him a five star rating. read more

Wonderful company and customer service. Paul has helped us multiple times with upgrading my sons gaming computer and other computer issues we have run into. He always provides great advice and recommendations. I always can trust him to assist with decisions as I know very little about these things and for that I will be a customer for life! Highly recommend. read more

They provide great service and are helpful with many options for you're laptop. Don't hesitate but I would recommend trying out this place.

So I accidentally knocked over a cup that had a little tea leftover (may be a teaspoon or less) and it got onto the top row of my laptop's keyboard causing multiple keys on my keyboard to malfunction to a point where I couldn't even use the on-screen touch enabled keyboard to login to my Windows. I tried to clean up whatever I could from getting in to the keyboard, but obviously it didn't work. This is a 1 yr old laptop (warranty just ended in October) I use for business purposes so I was VERY concerned. I like to think I'm pretty tech savvy and I take very good care of all my electronics. But taking apart a laptop was something I was not comfortable doing on my own. I found Zytek on Yelp and I was able to take it in to Paul who was able to not only put my mind at ease, but took very good care of my laptop and got it fixed within 24 hours without having to order any new parts/keyboard, saving me money there. Can't say how grateful I am for Paul's help. Very honest, reliable business. Like Arthur mentioned below, your pc/laptop is in very good hands here! read more

The hinge on my laptop lid broke, and Best Buy wanted to charge me $300 to fix it. Zytek did it for $75, and I had my laptop back in less than 24 hours. Honest, friendly service with a handshake and no mansplaining or lecturing. Would definitely recommend this company and use again in the future! read more

I was not satisfied. They kept my computer two weeks, and changed everything around, and had been playing games, which they left on the computer. I paid and when I got home, the computer did not work, so I took it back and got a refund. Another friend had it up and running. I felt they did not care, and I would never go there again. I found all the stuff, that they had put on, after a friend fixed my computer. read more

Okay, first impression is the most important, I have an urgent problem with my PC, hours are from 9 till 5, I got here at 9, wait there for 20 min and they didn't open their store! read more

It is so good to find a small business right in your own neighborhood with such great service. I sent a message while they were closed and on vacation. The owner was gracious enough to respond to let me know that. I went to see them the day they came back and met his son. Although I didn't get a whole lot of work done. Within 2-3 days I got my laptop fixed and the price was very reasonable. I will be back for the repairs of my PC. Thanks for being around! Alicia read more

Received a fatal error on my Windows 10 laptop. Took it in one day and they gave me a quote the same day. New hard drive needed. Quote was reasonable and repairs were made quickly. Had my laptop back within 2 days. Greatly appreciated their quick turnaround. read more

These are the best human beings alive and I love them! My daughter poured bubble solution into my Macbook and fried it.... dead! No lights would come on, nothing from the screen, no sounds, nothing. I took it to the authorized dealer/repair at UMass, and other than pulling data off the hardrive, they weren't able or willing to do anything. I was handed back my computer with the harddrive in a separate bag, and that's how it stayed for the next couple of months. We have since moved to IL, and my husband found these guys, so we dropped the computer off to them. They phoned me after a couple of days saying they had it up and running. I couldn't believe it, I really thought it was dead forever. They said they wanted to keep it for a couple more days, because when liquid has been in a machine they like to ensure that it *keeps* working. I picked it up today, and I am writing the review on it now! Other than the fact that it is a lot cleaner than I usually keep it, I would never know anything had happened to it. I don't know what they did to get it working again, I assume magic was involved, but I am so grateful; I can't afford a new macbook. Oh, and as a bonus, it cost less than the UMass data retrieval. read more

I have used Zytek for many years. I am a Sr. that loves the computer but have no idea what to do when something goes wrong. Paul, Rudy and their staff have always been there for me. From suggesting software to upgrading y system when I need to and solving my issues. Thank God we still have small businesses like Zytek that have customer service as a priority. Even now that I live in Wisconsin I still come back and use them because I know it will be done right . Keep up the good work Boys !! read more

Have used the guys at Zytek for years. They've always been straight shooters with me, letting me know when something needs repair and, perhaps more important, when something didn't. It's a far drive for me to get to Gurnee, but worth it with these guys. Love to support a small, local biz, too. read more
