After calling Paul over at K&D, he drove to my home the next morning to pick it up and provide a free diagnostic to figure out what was wrong. By the next day, he found the issue and gave me a very fair quote for replacement parts and repairs and got the laptop back to me by the next week (told him this wasn't a rush job, otherwise I'm sure I would have gotten it back sooner). He took the laptop and two days later it was BETTER than when it was new! He configured it with my wi-fi and printer and even made a few changes that I asked for him to do. He was great! After hearing of my problem with my laptop, Paul met me at my office within 90 minutes. 30 minutes later, the problem was solved! He quickly determined that it was not a hardware problem, but a Windows update glitch. Was able to roll back Windows to a restore point, and everything was fine! For instance, say, amid a search for something totally and completely appropriate, you inadvertently click something that you ABSOLUTELY HAD NO PLACE CLICKING.... (because hackers these days make it soooo convenient to do so) Paul can rescue your PC from its (now that you've clicked the bait) certain demise. He's got his own arsenal of remedies that are akin to an exorcism (as far as I'm concerned) to obliterate whatever demons you've (inadvertently) downloaded. Best part, he's efficient and manages to pass no judgement on my tech-trespasses. Guilt free, cost effective malware obliteration. When there is something wrong with my computer, I reboot it. If that doesn't work, I unplug it for about a minute and try again. When that inevitably fails, I call K & D. We have used their services numerous times over the years. Paul has set up our wifi network, cleaned up computers that had slowed down, upgraded operating systems, installed memory, set up printers, etc. He always leaves our hardware and software in much better shape, explains things in layman's terms, and understands that the biggest weakness with my Macs is the user. This guy is amazing - he has figured out problems for me that my own IT department at work couldn't solve! And then they wanted to know how he did it! What an awesome company to work with! I use my personal computer for work, and travel 4 days a week. After having difficulties installing updates, I found that I need to have my Operating System reinstalled. The process would have taken more time than I had available, and I'm certainly no expert, so I checked Yelp for recommendations. I first called another company in the area with a very good reviews, but they told me that it couldn't be done in the time allotted (it was Friday late morning, and I needed my laptop returned before Sunday evening). They didn't ask any questions about my problem, and didn't leave me with a comfortable feeling. Then I called K&D and spoke with Paul. After spending 15 minutes or more with me discussing nearly detail of my issue, and my laptop, he determined that he could do me one better than what I thought I needed. He picked up (Yes! he picked up and dropped off my laptop - no charge!) on Saturday morning, and it was returned by 5:30 the same day. It works better than it has in years, and I would have paid twice as much to have the work done as quickly as he did it. I highly recommend Paul and K&D.
