This was the 3rd restaurant we tried during our stay at Casino del Sol. We had the Breakfast buffet. It was OK. Your standard breakfast fare was available.....Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Omelet station, etc. The line for the Omelet station was long. My recommendation is that you place your Omelet order first, then go around to the other stations to fill up your plate. By the time you're done, your Omelet will be done and you'll have a nice, hot Omelet to go with your plate. There was no line the morning we went, which was a Saturday. The service was pretty good. We usually go for the Thursday night seafood/crab leg night and recently we were surprised because they raised the price $5 per person, putting it at $35 per person, this can quickly add up if you got a part of 4 or more. I understand normal inflation but that is quite a bit of a jump. Overall the food is good and crab legs are good, you have your choice of hot or cold crab legs along with a variety of other Mexican and Asian dishes along with your pork and prime rib meats. We typically save up to come here every other month but now it is costing us an extra $20 per visit. Come here if you want crab legs and good food but expect to pay for it. read more

Before I walked into Festa, I had to remind myself to keep an open mind. This buffet is not meant to be compared to a grand Las Vegas buffet. On the bright side, I didn't have to drive too far away and only paid half of what I normally pay for at a MGM resort buffet. I was pleasantly surprised that there were no traces of smoke inside the dining area which ruins any buffet's appeal. Festa advertises as an international buffet with a Japanese, Chinese, Italian, and a carving station. There were approximately 3-4 different dishes from each kind of cuisine. Additionally there was a salad bar, a cold cut tray, 2 soups, a pizza station, and a nicely sized dessert area with one shelf full of sugarless desserts. The dessert was the highlight of my experience. The flan, coconut/pineapple panna cotta, and mixed fruit pie were all excellent. None of the entrees truly stood out to me, but I did enjoy the variety that was offered. The grilled steak was cooked perfectly (between medium rare and medium), and I would guess it was about 135° inside. However, the cut of meat was probably chuck, a low grade cut of meat. I had to drown it with A1 to cover up the gamey, cheaper taste. The sushi rice tasted like plain, sticky rice that was not fresh and refrigerated for too long. Moreover, the pork loin was very dry, and I suspect it was sitting out too long. The entrees I fancied the most were the mushroom ravioli and seafood pasta. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat too much because it was filled with carbs and rich sauce. But if I plan to be out in that area of town again, I would definitely stop by Festa. The service was outstanding and better than many Vegas buffets. Ultimately the delightful service, desserts, value, and variety would bring me back. read more

It was Christmas, and we didn't have many options - so we stumbled upon Festa. It's pretty expensive. We paid 32$ a person for dinner - and I can tell you that when I found that out, I expected it to be comparable to a Vegas buffet, or even a nicer AC buffet. I was very wrong. The food definitely wasn't good - not many options, especially if you are not a meat eater or don't eat a ton of carbs. Even the mac and cheese had bacon in it. Not many healthy choices - the "salad bar" is pretty sad looking. My husband really wanted crab legs, but they were extremely slow with the turnaround and he got tired of waiting. The dessert choices were OK, but for the price, you are definitely not getting your money's worth. Yes, I might be wrong by comparing it to Harrah's at AC or a Vegas buffet, but this just isn't worth the money. Try another restaurant in the casino. read more

The food options are limited for the price of the buffet. For $15 I had salad, Mac and cheese, and a piece of cheesecake. Not worth the price. The food looks dried out and old. They do change out the options frequently, so it may be that the food is just over cooked. The staff is friendly, they are super strict on paying first and waiting to be seated. I have tried Festa three times since it opened in November 2011. I think I now have a fair assessment. What I like, in summary: 1. The butcher cuts of pork and sausage have been nice; steaks can be, at times, dry. 2. The desserts look absolutely lovely (not sure about the taste; I do not like desserts). 3. Though it is a buffet, it feels more like a restaurant. 4. Waiter service is pretty reliable. 5. Wine offerings are decent. Love that Festa has wine specials and that it serves B.R. Cohn (one of my favorite vineyards). 6. The salad bar is wonderful! I love that they offer boiled eggs. What I dislike, in summary: 1. Seafood night on Thursdays is a bit insane. The line, and competition for seating, is not worth the stress. 2. Glad to see sushi offerings, but they tend to be lacking in both variety and flavor. 3. I love the idea for the meat and cheese platter, but the cheese can get somewhat dry from sitting out. I will certainly go again. I cannot imagine I would go during Festa's seafood night, but it is worth another visit. read more

This buffet has gone way and I mean way down hill! The food looks and tastes like school cafeteria slop! The dishes are poorly prepared and with the exception of salt, flavorless! The selection is poor as well! This is just bad food served badly! The food looks old even when they have just opened, and most of it is inedible! The salad bar is a joke, and the so called pizza is just a sad sad excuse of a limp soggy mess! Don't even get me started on the Chinese Selections which are just horrible! The carved meats are decent but are over cooked, and slightly dry! The Sushi is not horrible but certainly not good either! Can't speak for the deserts as I don't eat desert, but they at least look appealing! And this buffet doesn't even have that staple of staples good old fried chicken! C'mon Man! I only eat here because every month I get a 2-4-1 coupon, and I always regret it afterwards! I have had seafood night and it was passable but nothing mind blowing! I loved that their were no hands dipping in the food. No one touching my plate. I love the cleanliness of it all. The servers were marvelous. All the staff I did a great job. Congratulations. Have been here a handful of times and each time I keep hoping for a change but no luck. First off breakfast buffet NEEDS a breakfast staple in which they never have.... Oatmeal!! If anybody who matters at the casino reads this, perhaps an oatmeal bar with berries, fruits, nuts, milks, Brown sugar instead of that really gross pot of what they call menudo. Oh and please tell the omelet bar cook to back off on the grease! Seriously BACK OFF ! My heathy spinach mushroom omelet was anything but!! Eggs Benedict should NEVER be precooked and sitting under a heat lamp EVER, especially with the hollandaise sauce on top of it. Omg have u ever heard of salmonella? Overall it was a decent experience. Casino Del Sol offered a promotion where if you signed up for Club Sol you'd get a free dinner buffer (a $19 value). The food wasn't bad but it could've been better in my opinion. Their salads, pizzas, meat (steak) and pastas were pretty good. So, the first time we came here it was just ok. Good steak but horrible service. Luckily the manager was very nice & made things right. This time we come here & the service is a lot better but the quality of the steaks has gone drastically down!! Really paper thin cuts of ribeye & no T-Bones. My friends and I were excited to hear the Sunday brunch was back open. We arrived and saw they had raised the price of the buffet to $30. Well we were excited to have crab legs again! Well to our disappointment and many other guests there was no crab legs! We asked and were then told "oh they brought them out but people took them all quickly ". Well this was a complete lie. They didn't even have them. We walked around looking at the buffet and the quality just is not there. The sushi selection was horrible. They put a potato bar where the beautiful cheeses, olives and vegetables were. Another guest said they called prior to the drive out there and were told they had crab legs! They are lying to people just to get you in the door and take your money. The $30 price is not at all justifiable for the poor quality of this buffet. Very disappointed in Casino del Sol. This is our first time eating here. Both my husband and I were very surprised and did enjoy the variety with this buffet. One side was a Chinese Buffet, then a small sushi option, miso soup and steamed rice. The other side were several hot dishes such as chili, Italian pastas, Short ribs, baked chicken and all sorts of sides and steamed veggies. The carving station included sausages and pork loin, with some roasted spicy whole Serrano peppers. The desserts were hot bread pudding and peach cobblers, pies, Cheescake, cookies, flan and brownies. I'm not mentioning ALL the food, but just an idea of what is here. There was also a full salad bar and an olive/cheese/deli meat section. None of the meats were over cooked or dry. The sushi was not great but they did have nigiri sushi rolls which was great. The total price with coupon for Two for One Tuesday's was $15.75. You can get a coupon every week when you become a member at the Casino...which is free. The dining area was spacious and not crowded, clean and the decor was appealing. We will definitely come back to eat here when we are in the mood for a buffet. We are now tempted to try the Sunday Seafood Champagne Brunch. Even though it seems to be a bit pricier on Sunday the price seems to fit the menu and atmosphere now that we've been here and seen the dining area and tasted the food ourselves. After trying their Thursday night Seafood buffet, their Sunday Surf and Turf, and the Italian buffet Wednesday, I can give this buffet a solid 4. The crab legs and shrimp are decent... not succulent, but decent. The prime rib on the other hand is not good... It's a sloppy, ugly, gristly cut, a far cry from juicy and buttery like one might expect. The Italian event, with caneloni, lasagna, eggplant parmesan and artichoke ravioli was better than Olive Garden. That's pretty much the skinny on the specialties. Now, at each of these different versions I went to, they all featured various salads, pastas, soups, a sushi bar, an antipasto bar, and a Chinese food option of 3 or 4 entrees. The sushi is above average, the pasta salads and ambrosia were average and the Chinese food is ok. For desserts, everything from opera cakes to flan, Bananas foster to cheesecake and cannoli. Pedestrian flavors but wide variety. As clean, overall, as you can expect a buffet to be, and nice ambience. Service runs slow for refills but they are pleasant. Kids prices are unbeatable, as cheap as $7, though adults run as high as $30 per head. Overall assessment: great variety, better than average flavors, slow but sweet service, clean, just a touch on the high side of prices. read more

If you're looking for All You Can Eat Crab legs, Thursday night here is the place to be. For only $30 you can help yourself to endless mountain fulls of snow crab legs! This is what lured me in! Make sure to wait for a fresh batch as sometimes one's that are left out longer will look more stale. However afar from that, the rest of the food wasn't too great, which is why I wasn't able to give this more than a 3 star. The prime rib cut was a bit bland with no flavor. It would need a steak sauce or Au Jus to atleast give it some taste. The ribs were a bit dry and hard to eat. One of my friends also found hair in his food. In conclusion, if I was to return here, it would be just for the snow crab legs. As for the other food, I would eat at your own risk. read more

I love this buffet for Sunday Brunch. If you are a crab lover you will quickly understand why this is a 5 Star review. We are talking KING CRAB LEGS and CLAWS. I cannot find any buffet, anywhere, that serves King Crab Legs. Don't misunderstand, I am not confusing snow crab with these. The Crab legs here are premium legs that you might see at the grocery store for $25+ per pound. Sunday brunch is served from 9am to 4pm and the current price is $23.00 per person. If unlimited crab is not enough, champagne is also included at no extra charge, as well as jumbo shrimp, oysters on the half shell, sushi, prime rib, made to order omelets and the list goes on. Festa is absolute the best buffet I have ever been to, hands down! I had their Sunday Brunch yesterday and I was in shock. The selection and quality were outstanding. I had everything from pre-cut King Crab Legs And Claws to Prime Rib with Bacon and Mushroom Au Jus. Never has a food establishment chosen a better name. Festa (feast) is exactly what this place is. The service was also fantastic. Between the server (Maria) and the manager (Martin), my family and I felt like royalty. These guys really rolled out the red carpet! Even the chefs came out to introduce themselves. The whole experience was unbelievable. Even though this place is a buffet, I can easily call it the best restaurant in Tucson. Thank You Festa!! 3, 4 and 5 stars huh? I am kind of surprised to be perfectly honest. We have tried this joint two times. The first was better than the second but not by much. You know there is a problem with the buffet when your favorite part is the sliced deli meat tray and salad bar. Everything else was "meh" at best. Most of the food looked (and tasted) like it had been sitting out for awhile. The meats were bland and could have used some seasoning. The sushi rice was so dried out it was almost crunchy. The pizza was hardly warm. The best part of the whole thing (other than the deli meat) was the bread pudding. For the price you pay, it just isn't worth it. The Tequila Factory or even Moby's in the casino is WAY better and MUCH more affordable. They have tried REALLY hard to be like Vegas (Rio World Buffet anyone?) and have fallen short at every point. Even our waitress, although sweet, was bland. She also didn't even know what a steak knife was. The only thing we will go back to try is their breakfast buffet which sounds great! My first time here and we went on a Sunday, so we were able to have a mimosa brunch :) Overall it was a great experience but a little pricey. Unless you are planning on drinking your moneys worth of mimosas, plan to go any other day of the week. I also didn't like the fact that they don't have a kids rate so somehow paying $25 for a nine year old just felt wrong. The quality of food seemed to be above average from other buffets that I've been to and they had a great variety of foods from build your own omelettes, a pasta bar, chinese food, mexican food, seafood section including crab legs, oh and they even have menudo! Couldn't tell you the next time I plan to revisit since I'm not a big fan of buffets and there wasn't anything "to die for", but I'd recommend to a friend. Went for seafood night. A lot has changed since my last seafood visit here. The king crab legs are gone having been replaced by snow crab legs. I understand economics, but this is crazy. Price went up from $35 to $45 for a lesser product. The corn on the cob was flavorless. I'll probably go to Safeway and pickup some crab there next time. read more

Good place for Tucson. The food is good and they have a better variety compared to the other casino buffets. Closer to a Vegas buffet. Sunday's is brunch buffet, yay mimosas included. It is very pricey especially Sunday's brunch for Tucson. I hate that they don't have a kids price. Paying about 19 to 25.00 for kids is crazy when I don't even eat my moneys worth how could they. This place has impressed me twice. The buffet is one of those all you can eat places that offers it all. As a big sushi fan I'm really glad they offer 4 different kinds of great tasting varieties. But its the awesome choose your own past bar that a real catch. Tell the chef what ingredients you want and expediently you get a great dish. The salad bar its impressive as well with potato salad offered next to thick filled pastas, like ravioli with a creamy sauce. The bread and cheese selection directly across is also great. The deserts are really cute in that they are small and mostly hand formed little things that look cute as well as being calorie portioned. I mean you can eat 5 or more if you like but the richness gets to me, in a good way. Nice area and great options make this a great place to dine. This place has seriously gone downhill since the last time I was here a few years ago. My husband and I used to come here a few times a year, and the food and service was great! The best little desserts ever and quality, tasty food. Not anymore. When we first arrived and paid for our Sunday brunch ($28 per person), we were waiting to be seated for a full two minutes...at 5:30pm in a nearly empty dining room. Four servers stared at us from the sides, standing and doing nothing, and there was no hostess in sight. I don't see any reason why one of them couldn't seat us. Finally, the cashier herself sat us. The entrees we tried were dry (sitting too long) and some were over and under seasoned. For example, the lo mein *looked* good, but there was absolutely no flavor. There was a breakfast "quiche" that in no way (other than it was pie shaped) resembled quiche. It wasn't even like a frittata, which might have redeemed it. It tasted like someone made hard-boiled egg pie. And it was gross. The desserts used to be the highlight of the buffet. The desserts today were hit and miss. The chocolate cupcake was moist and delicious but the frosting too sugary. The ice cream cones were stale and chewy. Something masquerading as a sopapilla was dried and stale. The cherry cobbler was great (though I'm not a fan of walnuts in a cobbler crumble). The selection has diminished as well. We will not be returning. I'm wishing I had my $56 back. read more

I love this buffet. Mainly for their seafood Thursday nights where if you love crab this is the place you can go for all you can eat. For $30 you cannot beat this price and it doesn't get so overcrowded where you are constantly waiting for more crab legs. I've been to many places where you have to wait and twice as much. You also get all you can eat prime rib. So you get two extremely expensive things for just $30 and it's all you can eat. Pinch me now because you have to be dreaming. The other selection of foods is very good as well. There is also a dessert bar and fruit selection. I had a mixed experience at this buffet - specifically, the food was very good (for a buffet) and the service was awful. Right off the bat, however, I want to recommend that if you decide to eat here, to try to take advantage for the 2-for-1 pricing after 8 p.m. Regular (non-special menu) prices are around $20, so half off means you get to fill up on $10 per person. That being said, do not expect good service here. The wait staff are grumpy, unpleasant, and do not make you feel at all welcome. The bad service started from the cashier (as with most buffets, you pay prior to being seated), to the waiter seating us, and the our personal waiter who largely ignored us. I understand that this is a buffet, so the wait staff aren't going to be fawning over us in anticipation of a large tip, but the staff were clearly apathetic and this did a lot to sour an otherwise very good dining option at Del Sol. The bright point to the Festa Buffet is the food - it is a cut above almost every other Casino buffet in AZ (yes that includes Phoenix). The closest I have had to this quality is how Talking Stick's buffet used to be (it has gone down quite a bit in quality). Most buffets, I have to be picky and try to avoid the obviously dried out, over cooked, over sauced, and otherwise non-palatable items and focus on the few items that are of decent quality. At Festa, almost all items are at least reasonably well prepared, and some items are exceptional. I personally loved the braised short ribs in black bean sauce, the candied yams, and the bananas Foster. On certain nights they have a seafood menu (extra charge), but we did not have the opportunity to try it out. The spread was average for a mid-size establishment like Del Sol, but don't go expecting a range like you might find in Vegas. The thing is this - if you want a quick, cheap, and reasonable quality meal that is guaranteed to fill you, this is the best and only option in the vicinity. The other ala-carte joints nearby do not fill Festa's niche, so if you want a buffet for under $10, I would recommend going and just dealing with the sometimes rude service. read more

Our party of four absolutely loved the Saturday breakfast buffet (7am-11am). Plenty of serve-yourself dishes, made-to-order omelets, pastries and desserts, for about what you'd pay at a diner for one breakfast combo and coffee. The servers were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I tried their brand new bloody mary bar and it was wonderful! For $7, you get a mason jar with a shot of vodka and some ice, then you get to top it with your own selections from the bar which provides an array of delicious tomato juices and tons of toppings/mix-ins. I went to the Thursday seafood buffet and honestly the food is a 2 Star at best. The crab legs had so little meat in them and some were even empty after cracking them open. The muscles and oysters were dried out. The seafood pastas were terrible and overpowered with bad sauce. The fried shrimp and peel and eat shrimp were pretty good though.
