We have been going to Fernando's pizza for years . We had the worst pizza given to us, it was so over done it was chewy and dry. We called to see if they could credit us. The response was.. I have only recently "found" Fernando's Pizza but I wanted to give my brief review. Although I am a recent patron, I've since returned multiple times. Fernando's food - I've had pizza, buffalo wings, and salad - is excellent. And their staff/service is similarly great. My order: 1 personal cheese pizza 1 med w/sausage, mushrooms & olives 6 plain wings (lemon pepper sauce on the side) This was perfect for 2 adults & 1 toddler (no left overs) Pizzas were good. Nice crust to sauce & toppings ratio. Toppings were generous but I would have liked to see a little more sausage than olives & mushroom's. Cheese pizza was good according to my toddler, she finished 2 slices of the personal. We didn't add a crust flavor because we wanted to see how the basic crust tasted since it was our first time eating their pizza. I tend to not eat the crust at most pizza joints because it's too thick but this crust was a good size and edible without drying out your mouth. Nice time I'll try the crust flavor. Wings were a good size. Nothing worse than getting your wings and seeing that they're extra tiny! Lemon pepper sauce was good as well. I like to get sauce on the side so I can control how drenched my wings are. I wanted to try the tuna sandwich but because of the big game they were not serving sandwiches today, understandable. I was told the wait was approximately 40-45 minutes which was fine I called in a 2:30 because I knew everywhere would busy today. When we arrived the order was ready on time. I was hoping the pizza would be better, but it had a weird smoky taste that stunk up the car on the drive home. The Hawaiian pizza (minus bacon) tasted like that more than the regular one, so maybe it's the ham? It was a very strange smoky funk. Too bad; we have been searching for great pizza in the South Bay ever since waiting an extra hour for a giant pie at Whispering Pines.
