I've walked by here a number of times over the years, but they've always been crowded. Great outdoor spaces and the interior is big too with bar seats as well. I called up a friend to meet me here since I was going to be in the area. The young woman at the counter was friendly and excited it was my first time in. They sell pizza by the slice, but you can get whole pies too. Thought I'd try their barbeque chicken pizza and the meatball sub. The sandwich came out first. Really good size, tasty sauce, and the roasted red peppers really made a difference. The pizza was next. Good solid crust and the chicken, green onions, and sauce made a delicious pizza. Daveed thought the sauce was a little too sweet, but I thought it was good. The staff is really great! Got a togo box from another worker and the place was starting to get busy. Definitely a great place to come to that is dog friendly. Cako even laid down which means she really likes being here. Cako Approves!

Started my day with a hangover and a group chat text message saying all my friends are meeting up at Surfrider Pizza for an early lunch. Let me tell you, coming from someone who's never been here, I was pleasantly surprised! I had to park a few blocks away, but it's really only a 3 to 7 minute walk wherever you park. Unless you get lucky and get front row parking, which can happen! The staff are extremely friendly and enjoy very much letting you know what pizzas they have available, and they even have these massive cookies that I'm going to try next time I stop by. Unless you order a whole pizza, they have pre-cooked pizzas that they will throw individual slices back into the oven to get nice and toasty and warmed up for your meal. I enjoy this as it adds a nice little extra crisp to the pizza that's a very warm and inviting. Also, the quality of the dough and the toppings you can tell there's a lot of love put into this food and it is absolutely delicious! The garlic knots are also out of this world, I highly recommend getting marinara and ranch on the side. There's inside seating and plenty of outside seating, and it was such a beautiful day. I'm so thankful that we got to eat outside. I became a huge fan just from my first and only visit so far, definitely planning on going back. The price point is a little higher than your average pizza shop, but you're definitely getting quality, flavor, and zero disappointment. Totally worth it!

I believe it was S'mores cookie, idk but it was amazing 9.5/10

Updating review ... in the last year I have returned many times And it's a 4.5 , the wings need a little work but pizza and cookies are oh so good!!! Nice selection of drinks if you're into that. Good amount of seating, chill staff. Mainly go for pizza. Eat fresh if possible for maximum enjoyment. Will be back!

If you love pizza, you need to come here! They have amazing pizza that's New York Style with thin crust and fresh toppings. They have a 2 slice pizza & drink for $11.95 special. Today I had The GOAT & The Spicy meatball. It was delicious . Not crazy about their salads but their garlic knots are awesome. Great family environment, Padre game playing on the screen and lots of seating. The staff are always so nice & friendly.

My husband and I were looking for pizza around the area since we live nearby. And heard about this place through recommendations and decided to try it for the first time last night. Came here 30 minutes before closing and the lady working the register was really kind and patient since it was our first time here. Even though they were closing soon she never rushed us and she had very good customer service super friendly , we regret not asking her for her name. But we ordered 1half and half box togo, ordered LM Deluxe and the goat. Everything tasted fresh from the cheese to the toppings. The slices were huge and the crust was crispy. The garlic knots were my favorite , freshly made and seasoned well. Will definitely come back again to try the other flavors.

Stopped by on a Friday evening around 4:45 PM, and it was pleasantly low-key. There were only a handful of people so I was able to place my order at the counter quickly. They offer great combo deals. You can do a whole pie or grab combos like one slice with a soda, two slices with a soda, or two slices with a beer. Solid value. For under $20, I got two slices of pizza and a craft beer. Their craft beer selection is awesome and definitely a highlight. I ordered two slices: *Surf Rider: Their most popular and classic pizza. The New York-style crust was phenomenal, but for my taste there were way too many chunks of garlic. *Basil Pesto & Ricotta: Again, great New York-style crust. I wish they added pepperoni to this one. The ricotta flavor was pretty subtle so while it was a nice pizza, it didn't really stand out. The space itself is great with indoor seating plus two large outdoor seating areas, complete with TVs for sporting events. Dogs are allowed, which is a nice bonus. They even give out dog treats at the counter. There's only street parking, but I still found a spot just a few minutes away. Overall, this is a cute spot with amazing New York-style crust, which is my favorite. The employees were very friendly, and it took less than five minutes to order and have the slices ready. They even brought them out to me. While the crust was excellent, the overall flavor of the pizzas didn't quite hit for me. Still a solid place, especially if you're big on crust and craft beer.

Nommmssss. Their pizza, so thin and crispy. Haven't had a bad service here. They have trivia Wednesday on Wednesdays at 6-8pm, so fun to hear questions and answers on other side of the building. FYI...Parking kinda sucks on Fridays because of the farmers market. Other than that, my family loves coming here. Btw.... Their garlic knots.... FIREEEE!!!!! (Chefs kiss, lol)

Stopped in after an appointment in the area because I saw they offer pizza by the slice. It was quiet on a Wednesday around 2:30, probably just that lull between lunch and dinner, since I've seen it busy plenty of times before when passing by. I ordered the two slice and fountain drink special. My son went with pepperoni and I tried the G.O.A.T. Pie, which has goat cheese, pepperoni, sun dried tomato, onion jam, Mike's hot honey and arugula. It sounds like a lot going on but the savory, spicy, and slightly sweet flavors create the perfect bite. The crust is thin and crispy enough to hold its shape without being cracker-hard. It's a great option for a quick bite without sacrificing flavor.

This was my first time at Surf Rider Pizza and I really appreciated that this restaurant let you do half/half pizzas! Got to try 4 different types: -Basil Pesto and Ricotta -Mt Helix (similar to a meat lovers) -The G.O.A.T (my favorite, had sundried tomatoes, ricotta) -LM Deluxe (similar to a supreme) I was pleasantly surprised how bomb this pizza was. It was made fresh to order which I took to-go, but there was plenty of indoor and outdoor space to eat if you wanted to dine in. The pizza was New York style, the dough was thin. Each slice was massive so I was pretty full after two. Crowd favorite was the G.O.A.T, which was properly named. It's a blend of sweet, salty, and tart. The sweet comes from the Mike's hot honey, the salty comes from the pepperoni's, and the tart/sour comes from the sun dried tomatoes.

Surfrider has one great bar area it still is growing and the bar itself it gives a great welcome to the many drinks that it serves.

My trip to the city of Lamesa was one that of loomiing at the man5 older locationd and the many of the older locations rhat gave been a request ogf many ofvwhat side of the village is the oldest. The many ciries of SanDiego and the many arwas of Chula you cqn fibd the many historical plaques that describe the many places before. Of the many restaurants there is one place that has the best pizza wirh the light crunch and the garlic nots that have the soft buttery taste. The place has the many names of pizza of pizza al oliol and the mount helix. Pepperoni pizza at Surf Rider is one of the bigger slices big slices you get the saucy slices the slices you can fold like a sandwich.. Arri ing at rhe restaurantvyou xan find at the upper part of the village walking to the front door wi4h the outdoor seating to the side. Coming to thr resteurant thwy ha w seats outside for the evening and the day dinning you can have large group gatherings with heat lamps the many tables for largw groups. Tgey do gave tace table Ervice for the tebles you can pick thrbone you want with free refills. The service at the restaurant is one of the best with the workers taking orders they do check IDs for if your ordering alcohol or wive at thr restaurant. Obr of the msny things that ei catch the eye is an art frame of pizza cutters ocer the years they have a great history of pizzas they have sliced. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer the many pizAs they gave are sone of the many that have great raste wirh italian knotts . The Suefrider closet for the many lunch places you can have inside or outside with your coworkers .

Ask the Community - Surf Rider Pizza

How much are the beers here?

The beer they have different brews and flavors for the Beer prices are from 7.00 to 10.00 dollars good with the pizzq and garl8c knots.

Do they take reservations yet? How about now? Couldn't get a live person on the phone.

Is the pizza sauce sweet or savory?

I see desserts on here, but don't see them offered on Ubereats to order. Why aren't they on Ubereats?

Although they sell desserts, I don't believe that it's a permanent/fixed offering of items. Since the desserts can change at any given time, the suggestion would be to call in advance to confirm their desserts of the day.

Will surfrider be hosting trivia on Wednesday nights!!!?

Yes, Surfrider has been doing trivia Wednesdays - I've gone a few times and have a friend who goes weekly.

Do they sell slices, if so is it only during lunch or all day?

Hi Donovan, Yes Surf Rider does offer by the slice specials all day. You can view our specials here on our website.…

    Is there happy hour?

Hi Alexandra, Yes, happy hour is Monday through Friday 4-6 pm and includes cocktail and beer…

    Do they have vegan cheese?

They don't, but I dream of they day they do! Their spicy veggie is my favorite pizza in San Diego. I will 'cheat' for it. I've ordered with no cheese, but I believe their crust still has cheese in it.

Are there gluten free pizzas to order?

    Nope, unfortunately.

    Are there any vegan options?

There are salads but not quite sure of the extent of the menu.

    Is the patio dog friendly?

    Yes it is!!!

The flat bread was surprisingly good and came whole for restaurant week. For entrees we got the skirt steak and salmon. The steak was actually pretty good and the little bit of broccolini and carrot that came with it paired with the sauce was pretty good. They never asked for a steak temperature so I assumed it was all premade and ready to be warmed up and served. Honestly it was medium and really good and tender! My salmon came with potatoes and my husband loved it. For dessert they let us know they ran out of crème brûlée but we got cheesecake and tiramisu and they were all delicious. Definitely going back as a regular!

The appetizers and meals are truly a dream. My absolute favorite is the prawns with fava garlic beans, so good that I honestly think they could turn it into a full entree. On the other hand, the calamari appetizer fell short for me--too heavily breaded, lacking flavor, and the pieces were really small, more like mini nuggets. For entrees, the salmon was excellent--perfectly cooked and flavorful. We also tried the beet salad, which was fresh but a bit bland for my taste. What really stood out was our server; attentive, kind, and genuinely skilled at making recommendations. He clearly takes pride in creating a welcoming dining experience. Going here is always a treat for my palate and one of my favorite places to break bread with friends. Highly recommend, just skip the calamari.

They were running two back-to-school sandwich specials with one for $10.99 and another for $16.99. Personally, almost $17-$20 for a sandwich didn't really feel like much of a special. The service was definitely the highlight of my visit. The cashier was incredibly friendly, offered great recommendations, and the woman working behind the deli counter was just as welcoming. I ordered the: *Jerk Turkey Sandwich: you can choose from white, wheat, sourdough, a roll, or an onion roll for an additional $3. I went with white bread. I was expecting more of a deli-style hoagie or Subway-style sandwich, but it ended up being served on two slices of sandwich bread. It tasted good, but it honestly reminded me of something I could easily make at home. There just wasn't much of a wow factor. The sandwich came with pickle spears and your choice of macaroni salad, potato salad, or another deli side. The side portion was fairly small, a couple of bites worth, but the macaroni salad was great. My total came to nearly $15, which felt pretty expensive for a sandwich on sliced bread and a small side. While I really appreciated the friendly service and enjoyed the food, I didn't think it offered enough value for the price. Overall, it was a decent lunch, but not memorable enough to make me want to return.
