Grabbing a cafecito with the hubby after our breakfast. First time here. Very cute corner coffee shop. Friendly staff & large seating area. Lots of beverage and food options. Lucky me finding the cutest little coffee shop that ever did coffee!! In town for work and just needing a caffeine fix. Loved the retro building. Loved the wood accents. Added such warmth. Loved the seats, so comfy, they're just begging you to stay. And the endless special drink items will keep you there either way. I tried the moco coco. Love chocolate coconut. It was great. Well balanced with just that little hint of spice. The Avo toast was so unique and interesting. So much avocado! The balsamic was so curious. The girls were helpful in answering my questions never having visited. They steered me directly to the right options for me.
The place is cute and it has a lot of space for you to relax. They also have play area for your little one. I really like how they design the space. It's so cute. I didn't take a lot of picture because customers was relaxing and enjoying their drinks. There's a good amount of parking space also. I got the Hawaiian creme brulee. It was good. Not too sweet, but next time I'll add more espresso. I'm just used to strong coffee. Service is good. They are very friendly. It's a really nice place to have coffee and breakfast or snacks.
Solid coffee, large menu, fast and friendly customer service, and very welcoming environment. Stopped in for some seriously needed caffeine and ordered a hammerhead. It took everything in my soul not to get the s'mores latte. The hammerhead was strong and smooth. I asked if they used cold brew or iced coffee and she said I could pick. I prefer cold brew, I think it's smoother and has a better taste. The hammerhead was strong and did the trick. I look forward to going back and trying some of the specialty lattes another time.
Walking in I noticed the cafe is very bright and open. There is definitely a lot of space. No line, but there should be! They took my order and it was ready in less than 5 minutes. I got an Iced White Mocha and it was delicious! Will be coming back to try other flavors as they have a long list of them.
Met a friend for coffee in the morning, there was a few parking spots right in front of the store so it made it super easy to park. Walked in and was warmly greeted by staff, I ordered an americano and added coconut syrup, the coffee was really good they use talitha beans which in my opinion is one of the better coffee suppliers in San Diego. Great place to gather with friends over cup of coffee

Drove by many times finally popped in. They have a wide variety of options for the coffee. Which is why we were here. But I want to come back and try the breakfast options and pastries. They have a definite corner shop coffee shop. They have a few tropical themed drinks which is what we tried. I had the tropical Irishman and wife had the Hawaiian creme brulee. We asked how the barista preferred or what she recommended and said iced. I personally agree iced is better. To each there own. Don't skip on this place.
I met a friend here for a quick breakfast and great conversation. If you're in the Lemon Grove area, and you don't want to wait forever at the Lemon Grove Café a block away, come here. They welcome you in upon arrival. There were 3 female baristas on this gloomy Saturday morning. The place had about 6 customers seated snd enjoying their beverages and food. I ordered: 1 Blueberry Banana Smoothie w/apple juice base, cinnamon sogar bagel with cream cheese heated up (I should have asked for it to be cut in half), and a hot matcha latte with 2 pumps hazelnut syrup. Everything I ordered was made fresh and tasted perfect. They have all the beverage bases for smoothies (apple, orange, oat, whole, almond, etc.), this is great. They also have a great selection of pastries, desserts, fruits, etc. The food menu is pretty good. I recommend this place. It has a cute and quaint style, and my favorite part is the community board and matcha!

I was staying at an Airbnb while visiting in the area, and this coffee shop was (conveniently) walking distance from there. You didn't have to pull my arm to convince me to check it out. It's a quaint little spot on the corner directly across the street from the train station. When you walk in, you find an awesome set of wooden steps set up like risers, in a way, that you could sit on, in addition to tables you can choose to sit at. Staff was pleasant and patient as we took our time perusing their menu; they have such a wide variety of drinks and foods that you're guaranteed to find something to try/love. Additionally, they have their own assortment of pretty awesome merch on the opposite side of the shop. I was pleasantly surprised. Even though I'm not from the area, I look forward to coming back when I am visiting again!
TOO GOOD TO GO CUSTOMERS: BEWARE! I was super excited to find this coffee shop on too good to go, but was extremely shocked when I opened the bag to see two small tomatoes, a bruised banana, and an expired health shot. I spent six dollars for something I could've bought at the grocery store for less than three dollars. It would have been in better condition there. I was actually so hopeful that this would have helped me find a new coffee shop or even a place to pick up pastries but clearly they don't care about enticing new customers.
Parking 5/5 -Good amount of free parking spots in front of the coffee shop. Service 5/5 -Friendly staff and efficient service Drink 5/5 -Medium iced americano, good quality espresso. For $3.25, it's cheaper than Starbucks and I will support a local business like this one any day over big chain coffee shops :-) Ambiance 5/5 -Air conditioned, cool interior design with a lot of seating options. I also like that they have a lot of local events posted, good space for working or studying and community-centered. read more
First time visiting after getting a recommendation. This place is pretty good. If you are in the area looking for coffee and or a small quick bite you should give it a try. 1. The service is friendly. 2. I had a BLT and it was tasty. 3. It was relatively busy for a Saturday morning ( before 9am) yet there was plenty of seating available and the noise levels shifted a little from low to average. 4. My only real negative point comes from the coffee itself. I ordered a hot lavender bliss latte. It was good, I could definitely taste the honey with subtle hints of lavender. I just wish the coffee itself was a bit stronger as well as a more pronounced lavender flavor. I'll stop by again and give the coffee another chance and let you know if my rating changes. That being said I wouldn't pass on it if you are in the area. read more
The café offers a great variety of specialty drinks, including fun seasonal options like the Funnel Cake Latte, Kettlecorn Chai, and Brown Sugar & Cinnamon latte, in addition to the usual coffee, tea, and smoothie selections. The space itself is also a plus--it's bright, airy, spacious, and has plenty of seating. Unfortunately, the overall experience was overshadowed by cleanliness and service issues. Many tables were left covered in crumbs and empty cups, yet employees made no effort to bus or wipe them down. We watched one employee throw away a leftover drink from a table, push the trash can back against the wall, and then return behind the counter to attend to a customer's drink order and then use her phone without washing her hands first. That was concerning from a sanitation standpoint. We ordered the Lavender Bliss Iced Latte with oat milk, which costs an additional $1.00. The drink arrived with barely any milk, so I had to return to ask for a splash more. If customers are paying extra for a milk alternative, the drink should be prepared properly the first time. We also had the Honeycomb Latte, and the latte art was severely lacking. While latte art isn't the most important part of a drink, it's often a reflection of the care and craftsmanship that goes into its preparation. A little more attention to presentation would elevate the overall experience The restroom was also in poor condition. There were visible stains on the toilet seat, toilet paper scattered across the floor, a full trash can, and an unpleasant odor. Regular restroom checks would go a long way toward improving the customer experience. What made the experience especially frustrating was seeing employees on their phones during slower periods instead of taking the opportunity to clean tables, tidy the café, or check the restroom. Those small tasks make a big difference in creating a welcoming environment. When service and basic care are lacking, it also makes it hard to feel comfortable leaving a tip. We did tip, but afterward regretted it. The drink menu and atmosphere have a lot of potential, but the lack of cleanliness and attention to detail made it difficult to enjoy our visit. I hope management addresses these issues, as this café could be a much better experience with stronger housekeeping and customer service. read more

The ambiance was great, super cute Lemon Grove nods with the lemons everywhere! Gotta love the price point here! $4 for an iced coffee with almond milk and a flavor is a great deal! Will be back! The service was super fast and friendly. read more
Tried this new spot today and was not disappointed. I ordered a honeycomb latte, and it was pretty good! Very sweet, so maybe next time I'd ask for extra ice or less sweetener, but all in all very tasty. The shop is very cute and clean and has a "you can sit here with your laptop for a while" kind of vibe-they even have a printer there that you can use! I've never seen that before, so that's cool. I also really liked that they have art and cute little knickknacks for sale! I'll definitely be back :) read more

Stopped by here on a Saturday morning. It was between here and another coffee shop. Great decision was made. Came for some caffinee but ended up getting some great photos, some lovely smiles by other customers, and some early morning vibes as there was live music happening. It was a trio of musicians - one on the sax, on one the drums, and one on another instrument I forgot. I took a look at the menu prior and already had an idea of what I was going to get. It was the Hawaiian Creme Brulee and the Tropical Irishman. Both are off their speciality latte list. The Tropical Irishman had irish cream, mac nut, coconut and the Hawaiian Creme Brulee (HCB for short), had white chocolate, caramel, mac nut. Both are on the sweeter end of things. I was torn between getting it iced or getting it hot. I went with both iced. You can get small, medium, and large. The small is about $5.50 and it goes up a dollar or so per size. I prefered the Irishman more than the HCB. I think the coconut balanced out the bold flavors of the others a bit more whereas the caramel for the HCB made the other more rich. I loved the spot. It was really cute and pretty huge. There are a few high tops and a few low tops. But the star of the show was the built in shelves seating. Not sure even what to call it! It protrudes from the wall and after climbing a few steps you find some lovely pillows on top to lounge. There are also outlets in the steps so you can work and sip and charge. They also sell merch and have posters of other community events happening there and in the area. They also have some food to purchase. I was tempted for some of the banana and zucchini bread but opted not to because I was going out for lunch soon. The thing that stops me from eating it a four star is the staff. Idk. I got a weird feeling from the lady who served me. It felt cold with me but after me, she seemed to treat everyone like they were her bff. Thats the only reason why it doesn't get four stars from me. read more

Visited Lemon Grove Coffee in a San Diego trip, I ordered a Vietnamese coffee extra sweet and it was perfect! I may have been okay either way regular sweet ad well. They're service was great, very welcoming. I received my order fairly quick after ordering! The ambiance was chill and nice, a cute shop with a nice set up they have a an area for kids along with some merch for purchase! Definitely looking forward to visit when I am in town again read more

Yes, I recommend this place over and over. This cafe isn't pretentious--straight forward drink menu even creative ones! I ordered the Hawaiian Creme Brulee w/ Oat Latte. There were many selections of pasteries and they were soft, sweet, and delicious. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They answered all my dying pastry questions. There were plenty of seating on a mid-morning Friday. Free parking too. And I have to mention the menu prices are fantastic! read more

I always order online so that my coffee can be ready when I'm in a rush, it's always ready on time and it tastes delicious. The Hawaiian creme brûlée is my favorite so far, as well as a biscoff latte. I tried the tropical Irish man and I didn't like it as much. read more

Unfortunately I went in to pick up two coffees I placed an online order for. When I finally drank it at the office the coffee was terrible. Basically tasted like warm water. Attempted to call for a refund only to be met with terrible customer service. I was basically hung up on and left to figure out how to get a refund. No apology no attempt to make it right read more
Omg!! Their macadamia nut matcha is to die for. They added a bunch of new stuff for the kids in their kid section and it is amazing! The lady who took my order was nice and answered my questions. There were a lot of people sitting in the cafe studying or just catching up. Really nice and chill vibes. Can't wait to come here with my friends and their kids. read more

Coffee: Great Ambiance: Great Food: Good Prices: Good Service: So, so bad. This place's Vietnamese iced coffee is probably one of the best I've had! Got the LG club sandwich, and at first the look of it didn't excite me, but it was delicious. Sourdough is the perfect choice and it tasted like the turkey was really good quality, great portion size as well! They get their pastries from Split Bakehouse-- I used to work at a vegan restaurant that got our pastries from them as well, and without a doubt they are always amazing. But that's more of a compliment to Split haha One big problem: They let me know one of the pastries in the case was not vegan. I am not vegan myself, but from my experience in the restaurant industry I know that it is incredibly important to store vegan and non-vegan goods away from one another. The non-vegan pastry was sharing the tray with the others, almost touching them. Most vegans (or people with egg/dairy allergies) would have a huge problem with this! Please make this one little change you guys. If not for safety, just do it for a customer's peace of mind. Last thing to mention, the service. My partner and I weren't greeted, even when we were standing at the register with 2 employees standing directly in front of us having their own conversation. We had to get their attention just to have them answer our questions. Felt like the chick taking our order almost had something personal against us even though we had quite literally just walked in, it was super weird. Also when ordering a sandwich, they had to check if they were "making food right now". Half of your menu is food... how often are you guys not making food? Plus there was a guy, we assumed the owner, who absolutely would not stop staring at us. It was weird. I'm sure it wasn't based on race or sexual orientation of my partner and I considering this is San Diego, but dude. Let us eat our pastry lol. Might be back for the vietnamese coffee or to try their really delicious sounding lattes. I don't often visit Lemon Grove despite living close by, and I don't think I'd make a special trip for this place, but if I'm in the area looking for coffee or breakfast I'll be happy to come back-- but maybe I'll take my food to go. read more

Visited this coffee shop on a Sunday morning! We got their hawaiian creme brûlée latte and their honeycomb latte! We absolutely love the sweetness to coffee flavor ratio! There's many tables inside for you to eat, chat with friends, and do work! The service was friendly and the coffee came out really fast! Overall would visit again. read more
First time here since it changed owners. Still a coffee shop but under new ownership. It's got a new name but pretty much same vibe. Same interior design for the most part. It was clean and simple. I had me a smoothie cuz not a big caffeine dude. It was still kinda early and I hadn't had breakfast so went with a healthy smoothie which was delicious. Pretty quiet, the music wasn't blasting and it was still chill even though there were plenty of people there. Everyone was just minding their own business chatting or doing work on their laptops. It's not in my city but pretty close since I'm on the border with Lemon Grove. Lemon Grove is the next up and coming spot. I always try to support local small business and not the large corporate chain coffee shops. I'm not a coffee snob so I can't speak to the coffee, so you will have to come and try it yourself read more
