I'm in general a big fan of Irish bars, but sadly, this is my least favorite of the ones in Honolulu. On the plus side. the bar has great ambiance. It has a really nice interior with a classic bar, and great placement for stopping by and watching a game. Unlike the Waikiki Irish bars, there are no people smoking, which is a big plus. On the down side are service and price. Even when the bar is on the slow side, service is awful. The few times I've been there, I've sat at the bar, looking thirsty, trying to get the attention of a bartender, who probably are not being distracted by the 3 other people at the bar holding their drinks. Both the drinks and pupus are very expensive compared to surrounding places. This place would be ok to meet some one for a single drink to sit over, but for a quick after work libation, I would skip this place in favor of others with better pricing and service. read more

Now I'm new to the world of whiskey but Ferguson's is my recommendation for those new to whiskey and those who love it. A nice cozy bar with the furnishings of an old European pub. Went in the afternoon and was surprised how nice and airy the place was. Felt really comfortable. Talking to the owners, they were friendly and knowledgeable of their menu! I hope to be back for more. :) Recommend: Grilled sandwiches, ask for the beef and bleu cheese! Meat lovers and mac and cheese are also in the table. read more

Wow! So impressed! They remodeled it and I have to say, it ROCKS! Great service, beers on tap awesome, vino list... Awesome! Well done Irish pub! Kudos! We will be back! read more

This place is pretty small, but I kind of love it.The woodwork in this place, as others mentioned, is very nice. It makes for a cool atmosphere. I have tried the baked brie, which comes with pieces of kiwi and nuts on top. It is pretty good and definitely a little bit different from the norm. I have also tried the quesadilla, and I would get it again. The food menu is not gigantic, as the place doesn't look like it has a full kitchen, so we usually only order a few things and enjoy a couple of beers. They have a few nice TVs behind the bar so you can catch a sports game while enjoying a cool one. read more

Love this place! Cozy and the cleanest bar I've ever been too. The staff is top notch and you can't get better drinks in Downtown (consistency and quality). They play all the big games on four screens. Cheers! read more

Hopefully I'll go back again soon! My class had just finished a presentation across the street, and we had a lunch/dinner break so I asked if they could cook something up because I had to get back to class. They suggested a grilled cheese sandwich, not my regular order, but this was no regular grilled cheese! It was more like a pizza in GC clothing! In a few minutes they had me ready to go, and when I got back to class and started munching, I found out how really good it was! Like I said I gotta get back and try other menu Items, the service was quick and friendly and it was a really great experience! read more

Sat at the bar and got great service from the bartender who was very friendly, attentive and intuitive (pouring my water just before I asked for it, catching my eye just as I'm about to order another round...love that!) Ordered the cheese platter which was great. Kind of a disconnect having paper plates with the classy, hotel bar feel, but I got over it. Great wine, great wine glasses! read more

St. Patrick's day, how glad I am you only come around once a year! Great bartenders, smiles all around, and nice cozy atmosphere. The size of this place is deceptive because the have outdoor seating in the front and the back in the courtyard. Really great for meeting friends, knocking back a few, and just enjoying a laid back atmosphere. Parking can be a challenge if there isn't street parking out front. Paid parking available in several buildings surrounding including the Pacific Guardian and Topa towers. read more

This place is great. We found it more or less by accident. We were looking for parking on a busy Friday night. Finally found a meter which happened to be right in front of Freguson's door. We decided to give the place a try and it was fantastic. The atmosphere is amazing. Freshly renovated with nice wooden fixtures. The bar itself is a collaboration between the owners of Murphys and JJ Dolans so the beverage selection was nice. If you're looking for a properly poured guinness identical to that of Murphys (including the clover leaf drawn in the foam) this is the place for you. It wasn't that crowded when we went and the bartender informed us that they usually got the pau hana crowd and that their busiest times are from 4pm-6pm. We went around 8pm and there were only a few couples enjoying their beverages and conversing. Great place! Planning on returning soon. read more

This is the bae and I's usual spot for drinks and stuff. They have a lot of good drinks from beer to cocktails to wine. The bartenders there are really cool and they have pretty good customer service. We came here during all phases of the day and the busiest is probably Fridays. We came on a Friday late primetime Friday afternoon and it was pretty packed. The bar and all of the tables were packed. As far as the drinks go, if you are going to get wine get their red wines because they are the bomb. For beer, sometimes they have some specials going on so I would try those. For cocktails, I would go with their modern ones like the refresher and cosmopolitan. For food, their grilled cheese sandwiches are the bomb as well as their quesadilla! The prices for everything are all pretty decent averaging about 7 to 10 bucks per drink. As far as location goes, it is on Bishop St. almost at the edge of Ala Moana Blvd. fronting the Aloha Tower. Parking is sometimes a challenge especially since it is in the heart of the downtown area but usually the metered street parking is the way to go. Early afternoon and late night times are usually the chill times to go. The vibe and atmosphere is truly like a pub. It is old style and modern at the same time. They have TVs surrounding the pub and play all kinds of things from sports to special events. Great place just to chill for drinks! Oh yeah if you want to get food go in the late afternoon time at the latest! They stop serving food at night time and only have drinks lol read more

See all

It's 6:35 on a Saturday night and this joint is closed (supposed to be open till 10pm). Thanks for making me waste the money on coming down.

Went here for lunch. The waitress was friendly, well versed in what they offered, and pleasant. She gets 5 stars. It was not crowded, but it looked nice inside. 4 stars parking? LOL one star, but that's not fair, all of this area is 1star parking. Now to the food. Baked brie- HUGE disappointment. Its not even baked brie. Shouldn't even be called that. Should be called melted piece of brie with stuff on it. It was garbage. One, it was not a good piece of brie. Costco's brie would have been better. Two, the rind was still on...all at the bottom, a big piece, and not a good rind. THREE, it did not have dough or any kind of wrapping! Then, the final insult, there was DIRED FRUIT and walnuts thrown on top. For $10? Get out of here. GO HOME, FERGUSON'S, YOU'RE DRUNK!! My husband enjoyed his pastrami sandwich. I got the meat overs grilled cheese. It was OK. Nothing to write home about. The bread was right, the cheese was right, and it had all the meat (ALL THE MEAT)... but I was just disappointed, since they were FAMOUS grilled cheese. Come on now. our sandwiches were both $10. Maybe it is a better bar. read more

This place is located in the Dillingham Transportation Building street level. Can't miss it, usually you'll see some drunk white ppl standing outside looking all sketchy. My co-workers & i decided to go to this pub to have a drink after work in memory of the owner whom just recently passed away (John). The place is literally the size of a closet!! Like any other irish bar...it's dark. Kind of makes you paranoid that its dark, small enclosed space, & drunk ppl. I would give this place 1 star...but their customer service is alright. THEY DO NOT SELL FOOD, AT ALL -- straight liquer. I ordered KAHLUA with MILK only -- & got BAILEY'S with MILK. idk how that happened? I mean they have Kahlua. LOLS read more

Ferguson is a brilliant looking hole in the wall bar. Despite being small and cozy it is classy and well kept. Some hole in the wall bars honestly reek and are in need of maintenancen, Ferguson is far from those places. While it has a decent amount of beer and some good premium choices the star is the food and whiskey. They have a strong selection of whiskey and scotch. Their modest kitchen is the dream of those who love grilled cheese. The pizza style grilled cheese is fantastic and those who like bleu cheese will love their roast beef bleu cheese special. Staff is very friendly. While there is no happy hour and buying the higher end whiskeys will cost. You get what you pay for and the staff and owners can recommend things that fit your price point. If you love whiskey you will love Ferguson's. read more

I've been working downtown for a while now and it's strange that it's taken so long for me to come to this place for happy hour. Stopped by on a Friday night and sat outside. Despite the occasional loud car, it was nice being outside on a breezy evening to have a few drinks. I ordered some wine and we had some pupus. BAKED BREE - warm and creamy and served with little crostinis. Since we were there for a while and needed more to soak up the wine, we also ordered the charcuterie platter which had the usual cheese and meat offerings - bonus for the soft cheeses and crackers and mustard. Delicious. Great warm up before heading out for some dinner. I'll be back to enjoy the outdoors after being at my computer screen all day. read more

Wanted to try it out for lunch so we decided to stop by. Sat at the bar for about for about 10 minutes and the bartender never came over even though he looked right at me. The had only about 15 people inside with 5 at the bar. We eventually left and went somewhere else for lunch. Very disappointing. read more

Apparently our "waitress" was married to the owner- All the more reason for her to know not to take drinks without replacing them (where did my water go?? Bueller??) and not to take food orders from half of the table without asking if anyone else would like anything. You could have sold a lot more if I had not decided to leave due to this ridiculous behavior. Also- a toaster oven is not a kitchen. Get it together. I would give zero stars if that were an option. Having worked in the service industry, I can tell you that the "service" here is a joke. Unless you like being hungry and thirsty- then this place is for you. read more

Today was my first time at Ferguson's, so I never saw it before the remodel. I had such a great time! The remodel looks great, it's really classy pub, with a great drink selection. Our bartender was really nice and friendly and he made some fantastic bloody marys. It's in a good downtown location, far away enough from the gross Chinatown area. I would definitely come back here after work or for a nightcap. read more

What an upgrade from the old Ferguson's. Murphy and Dolan took over when Fergie passed and they do credit to his name. Nicely appointed with dark wood and raised ceiling. Nice selection of dark liquor, TVs for sports and modest amount but good choices for draft beer. They have a very serviceable abridged number of comestibles to go with your drink should you want a bite. Staff is attentively professional. read more

Just like the Cheers bar, where everyone knows your name :) Awesome staff here and special shout out to Reid the bartender. Hidden secret for lunch. What a great find. When looking for a change in pace for the downtown lunch scene we were pleasantly surprised when we tried Fergusons. A small dark pub, that was clean and had excellent service along with tvs, great ac and friendly service will have me coming back to order the smashed meatball sandwich. The service was impeccable, friendly and we werent bothered or pushed out to leave during a recent business lunch. Nothing fancy but sometimes a simple tasty sandwich is all one needs. read more

Nice quality and Quaint spot to have an after work pau Hana cocktail! Would love to see live music in the corner

The lunch menu is completely embarrassing. $10 Italian sub that is probably the equivalent of a 6 inch subway sub. The quality was less than subway and subway in my opinion is not quality (2 star quality). Also, the ice cubes in my drink tasted funky, as if the ice coolers have not been cleaned in a while or something spilled in the cooler and was not properly drained. The bar has a nicely finished bar, but a one star is necessary because the food was not good and frankly this establishment does not deserve a 4 star average. read more

This tiny pub is a very nice place to have lunch or just hang out. The pastrami sandwich was tasty and the wedge salad a blend of blue cheese and large chunks of bacon. Owner Murphy was working and hanging out with customers. The service was excellent and it's a place where everybody knows your name. read more

Ferguson's Pub - The Wedge Salad is so simple but so good! - Pubs Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Ferguson's Pub was a terrible disappointment. They have an attractive website with a good beverage selection, sandwiches and creative appetizers. So we arrived for lunch full of anticipation. My wife ordered a glass of Conundrum white wine. No, said the server, we don't have that. But it's on your website. Oh, the website is out of date. What about the food? Their only menu was a single page with a half dozen sandwiches. Oh, the website is out of date on the food as well. Apparently Ferguson's has changed owners, or greatly scaled back its goals, but hasn't bothered to make the website match. False advertising? More likely, laziness or weird management. Oh, and we did have lunch. My wife pronounced the Evolution Chardonnay OK and we each got grilled sandwiches. They were served on paper plates, with a plastic knife to apply the mustard. Not even metal cutlery! My first bite of the pastrami sandwich was all gristle, but the rest of it was tasty enough. I believe we will try Murphy's pub the next time we want lunch in the downtown Honolulu area. At least, it doesn't oversell itself online. read more

Charming little spot! The vibe is clean and inviting . Defiantly will be back . Great pour ;)

Under new management. However not much has changed from where I'm concerned and that is the bar/drink side of things. Service is good if slow on a busy days. Great hangout for the after work crowd and we generally sit outside in the courtyard. The indoor space has a great colonial look and feel with high ceiling and abundance of wood; feels like you are siting in one of the bars at Raffles Hotel in Singapore - you know the feeling if you've been there! Food is where there is ample room for improvement - go there only for drinks and you'll have a fun evening. read more

Totally fun place, that's comfortable! A great place to chill out after work. Ferguson's Irish Pub is cozy pub with a comfortable twist. Beautiful, rich dark wood panels, high ceilings that bring in light and comfortable seating with hooks under the bar for bags. Ferguson's is a cross between a sports bar and a nice after work place to hang. It's very reminiscent of bars in downtown San Francisco or Boston. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The pupu menu provides delicious treats, especially the tacos. It's amazing what the staff is able to do with the limited space and almost non-existent kitchen. There's a good array of mixed drinks, choices of wines by the glass or bottle and craft beers. They also have a wide selection of Irish whiskey's to choose from. This place is a hidden gem in downtown Honolulu. It doesn't feel or look tired. There's a lot of great energy and the vibe in the place is totally cool. read more

What can I say I have a soft spot for Ferguson's. It's a great pau hana option downtown with a nice friendly atmosphere. Definitely a bit of a slightly older professional crowd, but love it for what it is and you'll be happy. If it's crowded inside they have a nice big open outdoor space out back now. The beer is always cold and good and the bartenders are always on their game. Don't go there for the food as the kitchen is absolutely tiny, but if you get hungry they make the most of what they have and it's pretty decent. read more

Love the lunch opportunity especially sitting outside. Sandwiches are great and drinks will get you through the day.
