Restaurant looked nice from the inside, but the entrance is still a work in progress. The menu is also not fully available, but they still present it; I assume this is to show you the drinks available, but it is still bothersome. The staff are respectful and friendly. The food is where things went wrong. The edamame and sausages were delicious, but that was it. I ordered the fried chicken and it was still raw in the center. The staff were courteous enough to remake it. When I finally tried it, it wasn't seasoned. I was able to order a side of salt and lemon to save it. The hamburger steak was delicious and beautiful. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes which tasted way too thin. Describing mashed potatoes may sound strange, but try it and you may understand. The sauce around the hamburger steak tasted like it came from a sauce packet, but it was a good sauce packet with more sweet flavors. The meat was the best part of the hamburger steak. It was well seasoned, had onions inside, and was well portioned. I don't believe I'd ever eat here again. I do hope that the performance improves as the restaurant continues to open. It shouldn't be too hard to fix. read more

My favorite item from here is the Kalbi quesadillas. Really fun place to come! Delicious pupus without a doubt. Awesome drinks as well. Service is fast even when they're busy, and the place is clean and well-kept which is a bonus. Definitely worth checking out! read more

Great ambience. Food was very good. I think it's just a cool place to chill after a long day. Not sure what it's like after 10:30 pm. Anyway, go here in casual but nice lounge wear. The place is clean. White sofas. Decent size bar. Dim lighting with blue accents. Nice music. Private rooms with karaoke. Decent amount of parking. Staff is hit or miss. Friendly but not attentive. Had to ask for more drinks and condiments for the food. No one asked how we were doing or if we needed anything else...but they weren't horrible or rude. Maybe more training? read more

Aloha, HMB&B is a hip new bar in Moiliili. Pretty decor, fun lighting (see the blue food) you can change-up the music too, nice. There are 2 private karaoke rooms on the side. Nice clean restrooms. Good pupu, great flavors fun drinks. We tasted most of the menu & went back to a few items, nice. What would make this place even better is a "happy hour" for us early birds. It was a little pricey. The DJ comes on at 9pm. Lots of parking after the dinner crowd. Definitely worth a try. They allow parties too. read more

Don't let the outside fool you. Inside is a modern lounge type bar with an amazing sushi chef. The rosemary chicken is amazing with crispy light flaky texture over the hot savory chicken meat. I could see how they could easily get backed up but at pauhana time on a Friday they were still pretty slow and we didn't have to wait to get a drink. read more

I'm very disappointed in my recent service at heartmoon. I love coming here as I enjoy the food, however, recently, my server Nana was being really disrespectful to her ethnic coworker in front of all the customers. It made me very uncomfortable, and I could tell that it made others uncomfortable as well. I come to a bar to enjoy the ambiance and service and I would expect the workers to provide a comfortable space for me. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I don't like bullying, and seeing her bully her co worker all night put me off. Especially when her coworker was doing an amazing job and has always given me 5 star services. I would like to believe that working in this type of industry, you would need to work as a team, no matter the age difference or ethnic group. It's very unfortunate, as Nanas attitude affects the view of your company. This is not the first time I've seen this behavior from her and that is the reason I'm writing this review, something needs to be done. Besides the negative stated above, I do however want to positively acknowledge that the girl with the hair locks that is being bullied, is an amazing bartender. I notice how she has such charisma with all of her customers, as well as her coworkers, and her happy go-lucky attitude is what I expect from a server/bartender. This place is awesome! I had my birthday party there this past weekend. Food: We had fries with a shoyu ketchup and it was so good. We also had ika kaarage, and ahi katsu which was also good. Everything came out hot too. Drinks: The drinks were good and reasonably priced. Staff: I messaged the bar on Instagram to ask if I could reserve tables to seat 20. They were so prompt and polite when returning my message and also messaged me a day before that they were looking forward to my arrival The servers and bartenders were also so friendly. They play old school, 80's, 90's on Saturday nights, its called Throwback Saturdays 808. The DJ is DJ da Judah of Lion. I also messaged him on IG to ask if he could assist with our large party and he was so awesome (his wife is the cutest). He was one of the DJ's at Rumours so you know the music was lit. Went here for my friends birthday and everything was going well til I seen my bill. When they didn't have the type of wine I that I like, our sever was nice enough to suggest a wine but the kicker was that the server didn't tell me how much this 1 glass of wine was. Honestly you can give me the courtesy of letting me know that the ravioli has mushrooms inside but not give me a heads up that 1 glass of wine cost $20 and mind you now I had 2 glasses of wine. I thought the most I would be paying for a glass would be $14 or something. If I'm going to be spending that kind of money on myself then it would be for fine dining. This is Hawaii's hidden gem!! It's the ultimate girls night out spot, date night, or even just an upscale lounge for people who prefer a quieter, relaxing environment vs. a loud and crowded place. They have beautiful rooms to rent for private events or get togethers; equipped with karaoke systems. But honestly the whole place is completely renovated and pristine! Service is awesome and they have a full bar of tons of great whiskeys, bourbons, and Japanese focused drinks. The outside lounge area is super nice, they have darts, high tops and comfortable seating for all group sizes. This is the ultimate example of don't judge a book by its cover because honestly from the outside you'd never expect what you'd get once you open their doors! I wish I took pictures of the rooms but I only got a shot of the bar, which the bartender told me is made out of monkeypod wood and is super nice! They told me they just opened in July but honestly I don't know why this place isn't crazy busy! If you're looking for an upscale place to entertain friends or a place to pau hana and relax, this is it! Very pretty but we got there when it opened at 8 excited at the inventive-looking menu POSTED OUTSIDE THE DOOR & -- no food. The bartender said they might have someone on the staff coming in at around an hour who maybe makes...tacos. [Which I dont think were on the menu.] What kind of tacos? What is the name of that dish? What's in it? Foodies want to feel as if it was made special in some way. Uh, the official menu has stuff like charcuterie which should not be hard to take out of the fridge and plate, even tho you might not know how to cook. If you were managing, wouldnt you offer to bring that out, then call the worker who can cook and make sure she comes in earlier? I was actually ready to try the cheese plate, honestly, but had been so taken aback by the lack of food at a place that calls itself Bistro, that we apologized and left. Not good to make customers not feel like home when that is the vibe to which one aspires. We were also given quite posh-looking drink menus, which would be good ... if we did alcohol. They seemed well designed, trendy, and inventive. Oh well, it must have been in the air, b/c our next impromptu S. King street food explorations were also busts (not open, not open). In the place where we ended up, Anyplace Cocktail Lounge, we spent $100 which is probably nothing to a fancy "event" venue like this--but that restaurant has outlasted at least 3 of its food-and-drink-serving neighbors in the years we have lived here. They were pretty busy on a Tuesday night and getting busier when we left at 9:30. You do that by showing up and serving what you say you will serve. Take notice. The place is gorgeously designed including upscale bathrooms, glowy wood tables, and clean and hip karaoke rooms, and we would come back for the trendy blue light, except guys please: IF YOU ARE ADVERTISING "BISTRO" & A BISTRO MENU, then for gods sake BRING IT. This bar and bistro place was nice...! Went there for the first time for a high school reunion event and the layout of the place was simple and had some down to earth toned lounges. Drinks and food were pretty good. One area of the bar had a place where you can take pictures with the wings in the background. This place is bomb! The bartenders ryana and mariah were very on their game. Even though it was crowded they checked on me and my wife numerous times. This place deserves 1000000000000000 stars.
