We were heading home and mom mentioned a Dairy Queen was up the road. What? They didn't have the French Onion Soup at the restaurant that we left and now I want a Peanut Butter Parfait. We turn in the drive and this is not a Dairy Queen. Do they have Peanut Butter Parfaits? I confused the cashier and asked if they could make a Dairy Queen Peanut Butter Parfait. She said she didn't think so, but could make a parfait with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, and Spanish Peanuts. My, dear...it is the same thing. It soothed my craving. I love this place. They offer all your ice cream needs. I love their fried mushrooms and hamburger. The prices are phenomenal. I dined in one time. I was surprised how busy they were. They take a lot of drive thru and takeout orders. But the staff looks like they're all friends and have a smooth choreography to keep things moving. I love seeing happy employees. Food was good. We got the bacon cheese burger. Frozen not fresh but the price was right, it was well prepared, and the flavor-texture was good. The Mac and cheese bites were delicious. The mozz sticks had an odd flavor picked up in the oil, but they were good. The ice cream was very good, as long as you don't add the chem flavors. Great pricing. They have a food trailer, which we found at Carillon Park. The basics, soft serve, shakes, etc. I think a few hot food items. We got a kid's vanilla, cheap and small, good on a hot day. And a bottle of water, kinda pricey, but necessary on that hot day. Quick service. Glad they were handy. read more

Fent's is good ice cream. It has a new location. Just next to the old one. It looks like a barn. This is quite an improvement. It looks like it's a barn. It's much bigger than the old location. You can even see it next to it. It has modern facilities in it. There's bathrooms, conveniently when you cramp up after eating ice cream, that sucks. I had an orange slushie. This is about $1.80 for a medium size. Good service. It's pretty fast. They also have s drive thru. read more

Service is slow and the order wasn't even right. There were 3 cars ahead of me to order. Took about 5 minutes until I was able to order. After that it went down hill. Took 15 minutes to get to the first window to pay. While still at the first window, I was given our ice cream. Were still waiting on hot dogs and onion petals. Had to eat the ice cream as it took another 10 minutes before we could pull up to the food window. They brought 3 different orders to us that were not ours. At this point, ice cream is gone. Finally get on order and head on our way. Took a bite of the "onion petal" and it was a macaroni and cheese bite...yuck!!!! Went to Fent's order chili dog with cheese and deluxe cheeseburger, milkshake and Diet Pepsi. Waited over 20 minutes in drive thru for food. Given the wrong sack of food, had to park car and walk food inside. The manger acknowledged my receipt and went to find my order. I received my food walked back to my car and my food was cold. The hot dog was cold like it had sat on the counter for the last 20 minutes. The cheeseburger was barely warm. I understand rush time and working with kids. But this is my last trip to Fent's for food items. read more

Just left Fents, and my family was served moldy bread. I saw an employee take a half used bag of hotdog buns to the manager point something out in the bag. Per the employee the manager told her to remove the moldy hotdog bun from the bag and serve the rest of them apparently the employee did not inspect the rest of the hotdog buns because they were covered in mold. My family stopped eating the remainder of our food and asked for a refund the manager only refunded the money for the mold found on the food and expected my family to continue eating the rest of our food that quite possibly we had already consumed the mold on. As I was trying to figure out the tax on The known molded food items I told the manager I saw the employee come up and ask her about the moldy buns earlier this made her very angry, and that the employee was new and miss understood her and she said she wanted me to leave and she was calling the police. I was getting my sons chicken to leave as there was no moldy bread associated with it and the manager started putting our chairs back around the table and placed one on my foot, on video. Some of the managers responses to me was "she is a new employee" "you have never gotten moldy food from a restaurant?" "we have had issues with Klosterman our bread supplier" i'm sure Klosman's will be ecstatic to hear that, Fents is throwing them under the bus saying klaustermans delivered moldy bread not that Fents is trying to save $.25 and serving moldy bread to their customers Most of this was recorded with my phone unfortunately I can't upload it here the rest assured it will be uploaded elsewhere. To say the least I will never be back and I suggest everybody else thinks about if they want Moldy buns as well, and as I sit here right now I do have a bit of an upset stomach probably from the food that I've already eaten. read more

I love ice cream. While one might think that could cause a bias on the side of "too nice", it's actually the opposite. I'm going to be extremely picky about my ice cream, because I take it seriously (as everyone should). Fent's takes their ice cream seriously, too! They're the only place I've been to who has a birthday cake dip (and yes, it is delicious and lives up to its name). Their cyclones are an outstanding deal and the flavor combinations are endless (the seasonal pumpkin pie is to die for-fully loaded!!!). I have yet to try the food here, but I certainly will! The staff is always super friendly, even when it's busy, and I've never had to wait long at all for service. Personally, I would love to try everything on the menu! read more

I will start by saying I should have taken a picture. Since moving to their new building the quality has really went down hill. We continue to say we won't be back. As we ordered through the drive thru we ordered a cyclone, quart of ice cream and 2 hot fudge sundaes why would you make the hot fudge sundaes first as hot and cold really are not a mix but there is nothing better then a hot fudge sundae. By the time we received the cyclone and the quart of ice cream my daughter already had her sundae completely gone as we finally received the two other items we leave drive home which is 2 minutes away. I must say by the time I got my sundae it was a bowl of melted cream with hot fudge not sure where the ice part disappeared to! Such a disappointment. This is a taught process use some smarts and make and hand out the longest to make item first then the simple easy melting sundaes last.. read more

What a cute little ice cream barn! If you happen upon it, you should definitely stop. All sorts of tasty ice cream treats await you. I really like the cake batter dipped ice cream cones. Food quality is excellent made with fresh produce. I like that it's not greasy and tastes amazing. The choices in cyclone/shakes/etc are endless and all sound delicious and hard to choose just one. I've had their pumpkin pie cyclone in the past and it was phenomenal. Had a bacon cheddar and aloha cyclone today and was well pleased. I live right around the corner and come for ice cream often. The problem is the speed of service. While they commonly have five or more employees in the store, there's often a wait of 20 minutes or more. I went through the drive through this evening and there were four cars in front of me and a few more in the parking lot. I waited every bit of 30 minutes for one ice cream cone, and this is not uncommon. I'd like to rate you better. I appreciate the quirky small town charm. The food and ice cream are familiar and on par with what you would expect from a small town dairy bar. The staff is friendly, often mostly high school kids. You expanded the business, but I really think you've reached the level where you need to have someone come in and help you streamline the kitchen processes. I know you don't have to, people will keep coming because there's nothing else nearby. But I hope you will. read more
