It has ample amount of parking spaces available as it is located in the complex with several other places. It has limited amount of seating options available, but decor is minimal and nice. Love the huge teddy bear just hanging out on the bench. Person helping us was nice, friendly and gave us couple recommendations as well. We self ordered at the kiosk by the registrar and made the payment there as well which made the whole process quick and easy. We were able to get our drinks in less than 10 minutes. Feng Cha has always been one of the boba places that had a good amount of hype around it. I believe it's specifically for their crème brûlée boba drink. I've been to this location a couple of times and have either gotten a tea with a cheese foam top or one of their popular strawberry and taro breezes. I thought the strawberry/taro drinks were just okay. It tasted like a regular strawberry/tarp blended smoothie. They're not really the type of drink that I gravitate towards, but I wanted to try something new that's on their popular menu. I'm more partial to their teas with cheese foams. I've tried a few combinations, and maybe I haven't had the perfect cheese top tea combo, but they were fairly solid. The boba in all the drinks were consistently chewy and delicious. Overall, I think this place has drinks geared towards different taste buds than what I typically like. My first time coming to the Newark location of this boba establishment, and it was a good experience! The interiors are super cute, with decor that reminds me of the cafes I would frequent in Asia. I was the only customer there while I went, but as more people hear about this branch I can imagine it becoming pretty crowded. For now though, it's nice to be able to order and sit at my own leisure, without worrying about crowds and noise. I think this would make a good hangout and first date spot :) The drink selection is standard with some of the more traditionally popular options available, along with drinks I don't see very often elsewhere (like dragonfruit). Sizes are pretty big, though I will note that the prices are on the higher end - most drinks cost $6.50 without additions. (Maybe you're also paying for the relaxing and kawaii atmosphere.) As preferred, you can customize your sugar and ice level and I enjoyed my 50% sugar 30% ice dragonfruit tea on an especially hot day. Ya know, we come here all the time. I usually love it and love my dirty boba add green tea matcha, it looks and tastes beautiful. Today I was like this doesn't look right, I see no green.... Gentleman one looks clueless and askes gentleman 2, (did you add the green tea?" Gentleman two say s of course. Gentleman 1 then says "just taste it and see if you like it". Like seriously, you can tell the drink is wrong just by looking at it as I get it at least once a week. My sister asked for the agar boba instead of regular boba. The drink itself came with crema and the top was torched like a creme brûlée. Minus a couple of stars from my previous review for cheapskate ownership! Wherever I go, I always order NO ICE mostly because I don't drink the entire thing in one sitting, so I don't want it to get watered down. Every single place has no qualms about this (besides Tea Society and Little Sweet), but now I can add a third place to this list. I've been coming here to Feng Cha for months, and it has been my go-to laptop camping spot close to home. The bobaristas have never mentioned anything about not being able to accommodate. They always willingly oblige to my simple request. Lo and behold, I happened to drop by on Christmas Eve, and I suppose it was the owner manning the front cashier. He mentioned that they don't do "no ice," and have never done it. After I told him I get it all the time, he said in that case, he would have to give me LESS TEA. Less tea? This was my first visit and since I was the only one in line, the person who was responsible for making the drinks was super helpful. I think the cashier didn't know as much. She even gave me a sample of the crystal boba since I wasn't familiar with it. They were testing out the self service kiosk for orders, so we ordered on there. Our drinks came out shortly after. I ordered a Matcha Breeze with Boba. My cousins got a Mango Fantasy with Boba and a Milk Foam Tea (which is not a milk tea, its tea with foam on top). I enjoyed my Matcha Breeze! It's a matcha slushie with foam on top. The boba was a little on the harder side (I like a firm boba anyways but this was a little too firm). The matcha flavor was great and the foam was sooo tasty. I would recommend mixing the drink a little because I drank a majority of the foam after I had drank the matcha slush. Although I have been trying to go down from 75% sweetness to 50%, I kept the sweetness level for this at Regular and had no complaints. My cousin reallllyyy enjoyed her Mango Fantasy. okay, so I've been to the fengcha in berkeley before and had the SAME issue with ice. i like their drinks but the amount of ice they put in is just insane. I asked for less ice and one oft drinks had so much ice. the tea itself is okay. the jasmine milk tea didn't really have a strong jasmine flavor (i got it at 50% sweet). the taro milk tea tasted like artificial taro and wasn't really that sweet (also got it at 50% sweet). we got the sea salt pearl dessert. i probably would have preferred another flavor since i felt like the sea salt was a little overpowering since they added so much. read more

I love this place so much! I'm so glad they relocated bc now they are closer to me! Located in a plaza with any other food places with plenty of parking! They offer so many different drinks! This is the only place I can switch up my drinks and be satisfied! We love bringing our family and friends here bc it never disappoints! They have a bunch of other locations around the Bay Area and they are always so consistent. The iPad is a self serve option but the card reader is always down! They encourage you to order there when it's busy but it doesn't even matter but I never been successful completing a transaction on it. It always tells me that the iPad needs a restart after I spend so much time entering so many different drinks. The cashier ended up taking payment to complete my order. There's also not an option to remove cheese foam on a drink. Otherwise, great service, great drinks, great experience! Drinks are good, but the self-order machine is not working very well. I thought I have ordered successfully and waiting for 15mins and turned out my order was not placed, and have to re-order again. For self-order, you put your name, but the staff won't call your name instead it call for an order number, which you may not know what number you are after the order was placed (at least, it's not clear after I placed the order). It leads to confusing when you are taking the drinks. I mis-taken other people's drinks as we have very similar order. I love this store a lot in the past, but I feel like the store is lacking of good management in the last couple years. The drinks are 4.5 stars, but the management is only 2 stars. read more

I've been here on numerous occasions across the past year and a half, I feel I have gone enough times to give this Feng Cha a good rating overall. A big factor is convenience as you're able to order in advance and pick up your order. The customization of your drinks is also user friendly which is a standard at most teahouses. They have quite a range of drinks options (milk teas, fruit teas, blended drinks) and they have desserts as well. I usually get their fruit teas which always are refreshing. The strawberry overload is a crowd favorite which I've gotten on numerous occasions with lychee. I will say the topping options can feel limited if you're more familiar with places that have a lot of topping options. But the boba is usually fresh. One miss for me and I've observed this lately is they've changed their lids to be the seal lids for their fruit teas. Generally as someone who cares about eco-friendly supply options this would be a win moving away from the hard plastic tops they use for other drinks. However, what has happened twice now is they fill the cups to the brim and then seal the cups. So once you're ready to enjoy your drink and puncture the top seal it can cause your cup to overflow and spill. It could just be my clumsiness but it basically causes a big mess. I appreciate that they give generous portions but maybe leaving room so this doesn't happen would be helpful. Could just be me though. The interior is quiet cozy and would be a great spot to meet someone for boba. I will say it was unusually cold the last time I went in like the AC was blasting, but that may not bother other folks. You can also order from a tablet and customize your drinks and pay with your card to wait for your order. I often felt it took a bit to get our orders this way and that's why I do recommend ordering online if you're in a rush. They do a great job packaging your drinks for when you need to be mobile or transport your drinks in your car. Bottom line, definitely worth a visit especially if you're already in the plaza enjoying an outing at one of the other restaurants. read more

The ordering system is on a kiosk (a trend I'm seeing with most boba places these days) so ordering is pretty simple! Strawberry Breeze - Tastes like a strawberries and cream icee/smoothie!! I added lychee jelly and it made it sweeter but definitely an overall refreshing drink!! Mango Breeze - This was my favorite drink Ive gotten from here! Of the 4 drinks, only two were good. I've been to other locations and this one would be last ranked. The dirty boba was good and summer melon had a great refreshing watermelon flavor with fruit bits. What was super disappointing was the bursting dragonfruit and the kiwi basil. Bursting dragonfruit is my favorite and it tasted different. Both drinks had really strong flavors of tea and you couldn't really taste the fruit flavors. It was regular sweetness but it tasted bitter as if I was just drinking just tea. The kiwi basil drink was yellow and there were no kiwi bits or basil seeds. Nothing like the advertised picture. I got this drink at another location and it was completely different. The top section of the drink tasted nice and sweet, really creme brulee-ish. However, the middle portion, the milk tea portion was really bland. I couldn't taste any flavor, or tea leaves, or sweetness, anything of the sort. BUT... the dirty boba was AWESOME! I'd save the dirty boba was the saving grace of the drink. I've never had dirty boba before. So it was an incredibly pleasant surprise biting into one. The boba was nice and soft, not rubbery like some other bobas out there. And once you bite into it, it's incredibly sweet. It's like a soft chew sugar explosion! I feel like I choose the wrong drink. I would come back to try something else. Parking isn't an issue since it is shared with several other stores. Orders: Peach Green Tea w.Boba-we made the mistake of not telling them we wanted Milk Foam so we added it for $1.25. It was a very floral & fragrant brew. A little sweeter than I would like but nonetheless good with fresh boba.
