I will say this time there was some damage on some of the wheels of a clothing rack but it was in a pretty fragile state to begin with so it isn't a big deal at all. I rattled off a list of items that would be moved and estimated a number of boxes. My estimate of boxes was terrible. It was a one bedroom apartment and frankly, I haven't moved that many times so I was way off and that's totally on me. But somehow, all the furniture items I listed on the phone didn't make it to the work order so when the movers showed up on moving day, they were not prepared for the items to be moved. I want to state clearly that the two moving guys were amazing. I think the lead guy was named Manuel and he couldn't have been easier to deal with and he really wanted things to go well. Polite, efficient and everything I could ask for but they brought what was basically a Ford pick-up truck pulling a trailer based on what they thought they were hauling. But because they were amazing, they got more into the trailer than it originally looked like but not everything in the apartment. When we got to the new house, they were great at moving everything in. At that time, I got a call from the office wanting to settle the bill before everything was off the truck I guess. I was fearing a tense conversation but they were civil (and so was I) and we got it worked out. I was going to talk to them about another trip to get the remaining items but at the last minute decided the logistics of getting to the old apartment to meet the truck were too complicated for us and my son rented a U-Haul and picked up the remaining items the next day. So to sum up, I would use them again but: -I would want to see the work order in advance to make sure we were aligned on the items to be moved. In fact, I wish I would have written down what I had and emailed it to them. If you use them, ask to see the work order in advance. -Since I'm not a professional mover and have no idea how many boxes a move takes (we had the quoting conversation a couple of weeks before the move), I would hope that if I throw out a ridiculously low number (which I did) that they would question it based on their experience. If those two items had been handled differently by me and them, it would have easily been a 5 star experience for me and it could be for you.

Two members of the moving team, Chris and Tyler, came for half a day and packed up our garage. That may not sound like much, but if you saw our garage, you would see what a huge project it was in itself. They were personable, polite and professional. Moving day arrived, bright and early, at 6am. They were very careful to pad doors so they didn't get dinged at either home, as they carried out heavy furniture. They worked non-stop to complete our move. By 7:30pm everything was in its place and they still had to drive 2 hours back to their starting point. After requesting information from four local moving companies through the Yelp app, I went with Brewer because the owner contacted me quickly, was very understanding of my situation, and gave me a decent estimate for about five hours worth of work. One mover did not contact me at all, one said he would but didn't, and the other was higher priced with less information about how the breakdown was determined. I felt that Brewer understood the job and made fair decisions in the math. The two men who came to my house were careful with my items, treated me respectfully, and worked more quickly than I had expected. When their own supplies were used, I was charged cost rather than the higher price some movers charge.
