I love love LOVE this cute little vintage shop. I found a caftan that is so one of a kind for under $50. I think they have a great handpicked selection, and the staff is super nice. Feathers is a small vintage boutique with some fun/cool stuff. I was initially expecting it to be bigger because I had heard of so many people talking about all their great finds here, so I just thought it would be a huge place with tons of stuff. It's not huge but they have some great things. I looked through all the clothes, shoes and purses and didn't really find anything for me that day but then I went for the jewelery and found some great stuff including one of my favorite necklaces that I now wear all the time. If I lived in Austin I'd def be a regular here. read more

This place had a little bit of something for everybody and we all loved it!! They had more genuinely cool vintage goods and less crappy should-be thrift store crap that nobody wanted so it ended up there. We found some really awesome stuff here and I can't wait to go back and see what they have in the future. read more

This little gem is one I return to whenever I can...there's alway something unique I can't leave without. I like their taste in color, textured interesting fabrics and great accessories. The vintage buyer for this store has a great eye for vintage. I was impressed by the jewelry selection, the vintage boots and accessories. I thought it was reasonably priced and a well done space. I am an out-of-state purchaser. I have purchased by way of Feather's instagram account 4 times. The 2 clothes items I purchased arrived with damage to them that was not disclosed in the listing. One of these was a tear in the fabric--not at the seam--of a silk dress. This was an expensive repair that made my purchase definitely not a good deal. Most recently, after having sworn off buying clothes from them, since they do not vet them properly nor do they disclose the condition of their clothes, I purchased a pair of Guess shoe boots. I called to ask that they invoice me via PayPal. As they've done each time I've called to request this, they tried to persuade me to pay by credit card on the phone. This was not convenient for me but the salesperson intimated the shoes would not be counted as "sold" until paid for, as though they would sell them out from under me if someone gave them their credit card first. So, OK, I agreed to give them my cc#. Annoyingly further, they had no record of me in their system though I had purchased 3 times before by phone and 1 time in store. I gave them my details and was asked for the shipping address. I was not asked by what method I'd like them shipped. So fast forward 2 weeks later, I call to ask about my order thinking I could get a tracking number or something. I was thinking perhaps they had been sent back to the store but I didn't know since I hadn't received an "attempted delivery" notice. The saleswoman couldn't find my name on their system--again. I gave her my number and she said she'd call me back when she found my order. She called back later very peppy, as though with good news to report, "they were delivered May 16!" This was 2 weeks before and I do not have the boots. We did not receive the box. This person emailed me the "tracking". It unhelpfully stated, "your item was delivered at the front door or porch". I don't know how it is where you live, but in Brooklyn, NY, it is unwise to leave mail items or anything of value on one's porch. So--that's it. Feather's did their job, they say, by handing it off to the U.S. Post. The U.S. Post says they did their job by leaving it on my front porch. I, the customer, am SOL. They've lost my business and I will do what I can to damage their reputation. read more

The owners, Emily and Masha, both come from several years' experience of buying vintage and resale clothing, so they have an eye for quality and style (no broken zippers here!). They search ebay, travel across Texas and New York digging through thriftstore racks, and consign from some of the most fashionable folks in town to create a substantial collection of unique finds. On my last trip in, I tried on outrageous 5 inch Vivienne Westwood heels, a red and white polka dotted sundress, and a kelly green diane von furstenburg blouse. I left with a rust colored 60's mod style handbag. The selection of items always makes me smile, even though I might not wear them (lace Hammer pants? someone wear these to the beauty bar please). Feathers is perfect for those willing to spend a little more to have the selection narrowed down to the best items. read more

I have never had so much luck in one place. I wanted to get something quirky to wear to my college graduation and this was the place. I ended up looking like Barbara Stanwick at her ranch house in the '40s, complete with dress and boots. It was seriously a dream come true, all for under $100! Feathers is decently priced, has a variety of sizes, and a great little collection. read more

I wanted to give a better review, but I wasn't impressed when I came and visited last week. The prices are much more expensive than other vintage stores, and I'll pay a lot for a great used/vintage dress, but I saw a lot of brands that are not vintage. Mudd (that's a Kohl's brand, most of the dresses might cost $30, but I saw them here for $55) and Byer, Too. It's worth a visit, but don't expect authentic vintage. read more

During my shopping today, Feathers was my unlucky day's one lucky moment. Out of the three pieces of clothing I bought today, two were from Feathers. I tried on several awesome things that I loved but didn't fit me. The staff was friendly and not overbearing, and the prices were reasonable. This store is the best vintage store I have been to in Austin. I had to park a couple of blocks away, but it was worth the walk. read more

FEATHERS. My vintage heaven. I love it. The prices are great and the selection is fabulous. I went in recently and bought the greatest pair of old aviator clear lens glasses ever, I cannot seem to take them off. The clothes are amazing. Whether I want a fun romper or a dress from any decade, you seriously cannot go wrong. The girls are really attentive and great when you need a second opinion. I also adore the shoes and accessories, the belts are one of a kind and can make any outfit. read more

This store has some amazing stuff. Beautiful vintage and handmade items. If stevie nicks is your fashion icon or youre a sexy moon mama this is the place for you. It's not cheap but the price is right for investing in statement pieces. Anyway. I was shopping with my three year old which is no easy feat. We had to leave to go potty. When we came back the two shop girls looked like they were kicking around a dead mouse or cockroach. They had t rex arms like you get when something scares you. Then one of them looked up and said "I think we found your sock". Sure enough my kids sock had fallen out of my bag and here these grown women were kicking it around like a dead bug. I reached down and picked it up and they promptly continued their conversation about soup. In retail your main job is customer service. I'm a stickler for it. Please don't make me feel like an alien. Ask me if I need help or if I'm looking for something specific... I'll go back someday when I'm in dire need of a $150 hand dyed gypsy robe. That's not sarcasm. I will be. read more

If you're like me and not so into mining for gold at garage sales and thrift stores, but you're still into finding vintage, unique pieces, then this is the place for you. Of course, the downside is that you're going to have to pay a bit more. This store is snakeskin and paisley heaven. I bought a snakeskin clutch a while back, and I've never received so many compliments on anything in my life. 70's trapeze dresses, '80s prom dresses, early '90s party dresses (reminiscent of Lisa from "Saved by the Bell"), they've got them. The selection is excellent, but my favorites are the purses and belts (I bought an '80s purple snakeskin belt with a very rad belt buckle recently). The staff is helpful and wonderful, too. This is a great store! There is fantastic selection of vintage- some clothes look like they are right out of the 70s or 80s and other that looks like more modern vintage. They have clothes, shoes, purses and jewelry at a reasonable price. I bought a heavy, long winter coat with a fox fur collar for $70 which is a good deal by my standards. Parking is a pain as usual on south congress, but it is worth the trip! read more
