Very disappointed! I've been going to Fay Da for years the forest hills location and the west 4th location. I think west 4th is the best one, even forest hills and definitely this location the coffee tea was sad. It was all coffee ground taste and no tea taste. The chocolate walnut bun wasn't as sweet, less condensed milk on top and less raisins. I hope the other things are good but if this is a chain the whole $10 minimum on card is also getting tiring.

Delicious quick pastries and baked goods. Not a place I would have normally tried. Thankfully a friend introduced me. Huge variety of both sweet and savory pastries, sandwiches and sweets. Quick service and great prices! There is a small seating area as well.

This is what I got for $19.50 Still a bargain. Even though prices went up.

You are very fortunate if you live in proximity to a Fay Da Bakery. Not to worry. Interesting to note that all of the Fay Da Bakery that I have been to are accessible for they are near a subway station or not too far from one. This Fay Da Bakery is right by the 74th Street Subway Station. You can see the bakery shop from across the bus depot. Folks near Elmhurst Hospital just walk up two block on Broadway heading towards 74th Street. Bakery is clean. Once you walk in grab a plate and a tong. Just open the handle and pull out . Display cases really nice and visible with items described. Decisions on what to get. They all are fun to try out. My favorite is the egg tarts, and check out the steamed stuff by the cash register. Staff will get items for you and put in wax bag. My friend had the chicken sandwich for breakfast and it was fresh and with nice chunk of meat. This is a heavy traffic bakery. Long lines will move fast. Most people grab and go towards the subway station. Enjoy.

Hmmm Pro: many locations near by the subway. Cons: their bread is not as soft as Rainbow bakery. Not that fluffy and not that yummy! The filling is less compared to rainbow. Also the milk tea is a big no...

Came in for a quick treat before going grocery shopping accross the street. The place was very clean and had a good variety of sweet and savory treats. I got a beef curry puff and it was well flavored with a subtle spicyness. I wil be back for me!

Fay Da isn't primarily a bubble tea shop, but it's my go-to when I'm craving a milk tea with boba. They have a few other flavors as well, like matcha. A big draw is how affordable the price of bubble tea is here, compared to many newer spots that have opened up.

Love their ice coffee! So creamy, rich, strong! You can stay up a whole day! I am not big fan of their bread but their chicken puff is pretty good. Usually I visit this bakery for coffee ,other bread and sweets are below average. If you want try strong coffee without flavors of caramel or mocha or vanilla, then try it!

Bad boba so old and hard but the matcha latte was good .... So disappointed

Soooo ugh bad old boba. That really sucks when you are in the mood for boba I wanted to give them a shot but, failed me. I'm giving two stars simply because the matcha latte itself is good but not my boba I so sad !!!!! And that is huge to me so....never again for boba.

Fay Da is one of the bakeries I frequent when I go to NYC. Prices are very reasonable and everything tastes good. Generally I take out enough for the next couple of days. This particular fay da is not crowded. The one in Manhattan Chinatown is very crowded. That is a big plus here. Taro puff was heavier than I thought. Pork bun and pork floss bun were all good. Beef curry puff is one of their signature items. Sesame ball is something you should not miss. It was nicely fried crispy.

Brand new little bakery. It's pretty big and right off the train station. So you can quickly grab some treats and go on your way. They have a seating area past the register, which I didn't notice (till I walked out.) Everything here is dirt cheap. I paid $3 for 2 slices of chocolate cake. Now I'm going to have to keep some cash on me whenever I'm in the area. Cash only is annoying but they have a huge selection of sweets. It's really big and cozy inside. Be sure to stop by for sweet treats.

Every Fay Da Bakery is worth it. They're all really consistent. This is one of my favorites though just because it's a little bigger than the rest. Of course, the best thing about Fay Da Bakery is that they don't overcharge you for pork buns, like most places in New York. My favorite thing to get is the Chicken Puff. I also love bubble tea with red bean on top.

After a day of teaching, this was an indulgent random treat for myself. I would go into the bakery to buy a hot tea with milk (lai cha) with sugar and milk. Then to accompany my beverage, I would also order a pastry. Some of my favorites from here would be the almond twist, the egg tarts, the coconut cream bun. I also like the hot items inside the metal warmer with glass display filled with chicken or chinese sausage. It's a great treat! They also have leaf wrapped chicken and tasty bbq pork inside a fluffy white bun (bao). I love walking in to get a coffee before work also, since they open really early like 7 am.

This bakery is right across from the metro station, which makes it ideal for a quick grab and go breakfast/snack. I like to stock up on these pastries and breads when in the area! The prices can't be beat.

Rude and talk shit about customers in Chinsese all the time. Today a Chinese lady just tossed coins to me. Very typical rude Chinese.

I decided to try their Coconut Pandan cake which was enjoyable except for the jelly they had in the middle. The cake itself was pretty moist and the cream had a nice Pandan flavor. The Portuguese egg tart is what you would expect from one of these bakery's, very basic but it was nice and flaky. The milk tea was also okay, we asked for less sugar so it was not too sweet. We also got the sesame mochi to go and this was delicious! Definitely the best thing I bought from this bakery. The sesame paste was nice and strong but not too gritty and the mochi was super soft. I have to go back to grab another when I get the chance!

There was a tray of Tee-Doy decided not to buy any of them because they were all hard. Got 2 of the fish sandwiches and 2 of the chicken sandwiches. The prices for both sandwiches and bun have jumped up since January. I stopped here to get items for family and relatives/friends. Not impressed with their chicken sandwiches for they were hard and there is tendon in one other chicken sandwich has area that was not edible. The quality definitely not what it use to be here. There were lots of seats and tables for patrons to sit. Notice less foot traffic at this store.

We came by the day before Mother's Day, so they had pre decorated Mother's Day cakes. You can also place an order. Service is quick and friendly. We initially planned on getting a Strawberry Shortcake, as that seemed to be the cake to get. However, we opted for the Cheesecake, because we were able to add fresh strawberries (and whipped cream) on top! I'm not a fan of whipped cream, so I avoided that, but everyone seemed to enjoy. It had a good creamy texture and was not too sweet. The strawberries were indeed fresh. The pound cake was soft and airy. The vanilla flavor comes through. I will have to try the Marbled version next time! Note: Cash Only! A regular customer ordered the tiramisu cake; said it was the best cake ever, so will have to try that next time!

The tiramisu cake was absolutely delicious, honestly one of the best I've ever had. I didn't even know you could customize a tiramisu cake since it's usually served the traditional way, but they made it exactly how I wanted. As someone who loves tiramisu, this really stood out. I also ordered a strawberry shortcake, and it was just as impressive. The buttercream was so good , light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Everyone loved it, and there wasn't a single slice left. The owner's son (I believe) was super helpful, he really takes the time to understand what you want and brings it to life perfectly. I've also tried their croissants, which are huge and delicious, and the hero bread is excellent too. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash.I'll definitely be ordering all my cakes from here moving forward!

Their hot milk tea is a cozy, comforting drink that warms the soul. Fay Da's milk tea may still hold the title for my favorite, but Yi Mei's version is a very close contender. The sponge cake? A pleasant surprise. Despite some folks claiming the bread isn't fresh, I've never really had a negative experience with them. But then again, I only get the sponge cake and I can't differentiate fresh vs not fresh between them (I'll just assume that if it's NOT fresh, I would have been able to tell). For ethnic places like Yi Mei, I don't put much weight on service standards. Comparing them to American restaurants would be like comparing apples to oranges. What truly matters is the authenticity and the food quality, and Yi Mei nails both. So, if you find yourself in the area with a rumbling stomach, swing by Yi Mei Bakery.
