It's been a while since I last had bubble tea as well as Kung Fu tea. I got the almond bubble tea while hubby got a regular boba tea instead of his taro. So good! We both don't drink sugared drinks due to health and doctors orders. Even though I ordered from too good to go (never got a chance yet) and so close to home it was freshly made and he allowed us to pick our drinks. Don't know if that's usually the case. It's a small place so I just went for the grab and go. There is one or two seats at the window counter but that's it. There seemed to more counter seating further down the store but it wasn't available when I was there. Besides that Ku Fu Tea is great. They have all types of options, milk, smoothies, juices etc. You can boba or jelly or a few more things if like as well. They were nice and then teas always come sealed which is nice. I tried this spot with $2 off from t mobile tuesdays. It was great to get the discount! This location is also conveniently right by the Forest Hills Target. I ordered to go and appreciated how they put a cover on the tea that can't spill which is great and they put it in a convenient to go bag. The pumpkin tea was good quality and I appreciated being able to pick how much ice and sugar I wanted. I hated the bubbles though. They are supposed to be tapioca but tasted flavorless to me and I ended up throwing them out. Definitely not worth the upcharge for them IMHO. This location is always busy. Came here on a Saturday afternoon. The employee taking the order is efficient though not friendly since it's non-stop ordering and calling drink orders. It also helps when your party knows what they want and speaks up which 1 person didn't though that comes with learning to order and takes practice. I'm on a hunt , for the best TEA. Unfortunately this location fell very short . I visited today around 1pm, for my pickup order . It was slow , I was the only person there and received my pick up order right away . The location is small with a few seats indoors if you want to have your tea inside. The location is GREAT next to Martha's Bakery, target , chipotle and a lot of other businesses. The customer service was also very good, and I appreciated the amount of tapioca, and red beans they gave me in my drink (reason for 3 instead of 2 stars). However the tea lacked flavor and quality. It seemed way to sweet which overpowered whatever the tea was supposed to taste like . It was also very watery to me as well. They also gave me a 75 cents discount on a topping being it was my very first order in app. Saying that to say I will not try out this establishment again , nor any of their other locations. Great Kung Fu Tea spot here in Forest Hills. Kung Fu Tea is a popular chain here in NYC, with a wide variety of drinks, including a Wow milk line which is made with Lactaid. This location is pretty fast and COVID compliant. Only 3 customers are allowed in the store at a time and there's a huge plastic barrier between you and the workers. There's also tons of hand sanitizer available. Today, I got the classic KF milk tea with pearls. The pearls were a bit hard but the drink itself was very refreshing. The drink has a light tea flavor and is definitely more milky than some of the other milk teas that I've tried. I also tried some of the oolong milk tea. There was a strong taste that didn't taste like oolong. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I personally wasn't a huge fan. Finally, I tried the strawberry milk slush. This is amazing and a great summer drink in my opinion. It does have a strong artificial strawberry flavor though. It's very sweet and just an overall great energizing pick me up. read more

We visited Kung Fu Tea location on Austin street at least once a week since it's the closest bubble tea in my neighborhood. The space is narrow with only 10-12 seats but there is a gender neutral restroom, which is great. The staff is cool, reluctant and rude sometimes. Our favorite is their Kung Fu Milk Tea with bubble, half sugar and less ice. Their bubble is braised with honey, chewy and sweet. Its not the best that I've tried. I've been here twice now and I'm a huge milk tea fan. This place just leaves a very artificial taste in my mouth. Can't really taste the tea aspect at all. Sugar, no sugar, less sweet, etc. Then upon execution of the classic Passion Fruit Green Tea, which as you'll see, is my go to favorite at any location, this one underwhelmed. It was not sweet and too much ice. There was plenty of passion fruit flavor but the green tea was too mild and not fragrant enough. I was disappointed, especially knowing what a popular chain this place is. There are standards that were not met here. Too bad... It's location is ideal, on Austin Street. I've been to this location and the one in the K-Town market. I've ordered the mango snow with the mango popping bubbles and it's been so yummy both times. I do think their app sucks and I've never gotten my free drink :( I rarely go because it's $8 for a pretty basic drink. However, they do have specials. Of all the bubble tea spots I've tried I would have to say that Kung Fu Tea is probably my least favorite. I'm not a big fan of the way their teas taste. I always get an artificial flavor that I just can't pin point and not really willing to try more to do so. I should have also know better because when I stopped it on a recent Saturday the place smelled like someone was overcooking some spicy food - perhaps it was from preparation of some kind of tea drink or maybe one of the workers brought in a funky lunch, but it was a bit of a turn off. Also there were stacks of boxes underneath the right side counter making the small space feel even smaller. It's cool that Forest Hills has been getting more variety in its food and drink options in recent years unfortunately I wish, in the case of Kung Fu, it was of better quality. read more

Great addition to Austin Street. They have a nice assortment of flavors of bubble teas like matcha, chai tea, or Oreo. The bubbles are usually fresh and a little sweet. You can customize how you want it like less sugar or more. Certain drinks can be ordered hot for a cold day. The service is good and they take credit card. read more

UPDATE THE APP!!!! This has happened to me THREE TIMES NOW where I order a drink ahead with milk cap on the app only to get there and have them tell me that there's no more milk cap AFTER I PAID FOR IT!! After the first two times I got kind of annoyed because I walk all the way there just for them not to have something even though I'm able to order it on their app. The only reason I'm generous with the rating is because the staff is nice about the issue and offer to make me any drink I like regardless of the price. However, it's still annoying because sometimes I only really want the milk cap drinks. In terms of the drinks, I really do enjoy the milk cap (it's so creamy, sweet, and salty!) with a classic black tea. The mango slush is also so yummy and perfect for warm days. I came back here today since it is the only bubble tea place within a reasonable walking distance from my home, and was sad to hear there weren't any more bubbles for the red bean wow milk... but I ended up trying the honey milk green tea with bubbles and 50% sugar. They might have finally changed the weird tasting bubbles, or maybe it's just the honey, but it tastes better now than several months ago. The honey milk green tea was just right, not too sweet or too bitter at 50%. I didn't change the ice level today and it ended up being just the right amount of ice (within 1/2 inch from the bottom by the time it was finished). Ordered their taro milktea (it's powered) and you don't really taste the taro... just the powder, like not even powder-taro taste, just regular powder.... Good place to satisfy your bubble tea cravings in the Forest Hills area. Pretty typical milk tea coming from a chain. There are tables in the back if you want to enjoy your drink sitting down. Also a bathroom which is a rarity for a bubble tea store. Take your drink next door to Target if you can't stand the no AC environment. A small, narrow space on Austin Street, you can easily miss this spot. They offer a variety of hot & cold drinks, which you can customize with different toppings for a small additional price. My favorite drink series is their green tea, more specifically the winter melon GT. Their cold drinks are refreshing and sweet to have during the summer especially. But they have so many to try out any time of the year. You can also order through their app, which is easy to do and efficient because they also tell you when the order will be ready by. Quick tip though: always verify your order if you do order via the app. I ordered 4 drinks and they gave me someone else's order because all they said was "4 drinks" (not likely someone would order 4 drinks thru the app, or so I thought) and I didnt notice it was the wrong order until I was halfway down Queens Blvd & had to turn around. Clerks were confused with my questions for clarification on ingredients in drinks. I needed one of my orders to be made with lactose free or dairy-free milk, and the Coconut Milk Tea item was listed on the menu as being made with dairy-free milk. However, they couldn't quite confirm if it was or wasn't ("I don't think it was a good ingredient so... we use regular milk ingredient now.") and when I asked about alternatives like lactose-free milk/Lactaid (since I saw it was listed with other menu items) they said that wasn't possible... and looked even more confused. We're talking about allergies here! Why is there not more care about this topic in a beverage-centric business?? Maybe they should mention that these supposedly dairy-free items have had their dairy-free ingredients subbed with dairy-ful ingredients instead?! Also their phone was not working, so I couldn't place orders to be ready for pick up before I arrived. Annoying because I have so many other options that do let me place orders ahead to save time. And my taro drink for 50% less sugar was definitely *NOT* made with less sugar! This basically rendered the drink undrinkable for me. :( Isn't the whole premise suppose to be about making it to the customer's liking? Another annoying bit... Before I even finished receiving my order the clerks were back to watching whatever it was they were watching on their laptop, sipping away on their own bubble teas. I've always liked bubble tea but recently I started to branch out. I've been trying places all over the city and so far nothing has compared to Kung Fu. They seem to have a formula down that no matter the location my drink is always the same and always good. I recently went somewhere where the taro milk tea was gritty and gross. I love bubbles! Bubbles in my milk tea make me very very happy! I was so excited when I saw the grand opening sign for Kung Fu tea on Austin street. I love that more and more bubble tea locations are popping up in queens, no longer is flushing the only place to get these sweet treats. As for this locations, it's small it's not such seating but that's fine by me! The guys working here are friendly and as for any new location, it's super clean. The speed of the workers can't be compared to coco fresh in flushing which is lighting fast but I'm sure that with more practice the service will be just as speedy. I usually love the bubbles at Kung fu tea and this place is no exception, they're fresh and soft but I like them a bit on the chewier side, that's just me though. I ordered the passionfruit green tea with bubbles the last time I was here and the bubbles were a bit too soft for me but I still enjoyed it.
