As one of several boba spots in New World Mall, Gong Cha has the distinction of being one of the longest surviving businesses in the entire court, while also remaining consistent in serving very average drinks. I've come here more often than other places and often come back with the same, decent but not mind blowing result. Located in the far north corner to the left of the stairs (#1), the Gong Cha stand is so easy to miss that most people do. It almost looks like a hallway corridor that just so happens to serve milk tea. Seating is in the rest of the food hall and the service is not slow but certainly not fast. I've had a number of drinks here, ranging from oolong milk tea to a taro smoothie to my recent matcha strawberry milk tea. The latter was very sweet and not in a good way. The milk foam green tea was their best seller for awhile and the lychee oolong was another favorite. Having had both, I can't say if they were necessarily worth it, but they made for a solid thirst quencher. Unlike other boba joints, they take credit cards. While I always recommend having cash anyway, this, along with their rewards stamp card, are two more reasons to give them a thumbs up overall. ____________ (#1) When heading down into the food court.
Great tea with great taste and delicious assortments of add ons! I had the wintermelon tea with light ice and 50% sweetness, with red beans added on. It was a great choice and so much better than many of the other tea houses in the area. The price was pretty reasonable, and the service was very fast. The store was very clean and had lots of space, and if it wasn't for COVID-19, my friend and I would have stayed longer. Definitely would come again. By the way, 贡茶 is such as clever name, I love it :D
We decided to try Gong Cha Tea since we heard that it was supposed to be good and noticed that it was much more busy than the other popular tea places nearby such as Kung Fu Tea. We ordered a Passionfruit Green Tea and a Lychee Oolong Tea and were fairly disappointed. Both were a bit too sweet for our tastes, but overall expected better flavor from both. The PF Green Tea was ok but wouldn't recommend the Lychee Oolong Tea. The good thing is that they use real tea (not powder). However, they don't use any real strawberries because they use flavoring for that. Probably won't be coming back as there are many other options for tea nearby.
This Gong Cha is located in the New World Mall food court. I had the lemon wintermelon with basil seed drink which is in their top 10. I mistakenly thought it said watermelon instead of wintermelon, but I enjoyed the drink. It was refreshing and unique with the right amount of sweetness. The employees were a bit rude and looked like they didn't want to be there though.
Excellent tea options here and undoubtedly popular. Lines move fast to order but they move pretty quickly to pump drinks out. Been here twice (this specific locale) and each time, I've tried two different teas. First visit, the classic Passion Fruit Green Tea. And this most recent visit, the Sparkling Lychee. (Side comment, only thing missing is some Elderflower or Vodka to make it more excellent. Too bad these places don't have liquor licenses too). Ha ha This sparkling lychee by the way, was customizable which surprised need more. I thought I was buying it the way it was made. So I opted for less sugar (50%) and less ice. Cool! Who knew?! Anyway, love the variety and love the service. Has not disappointed yet. Customizable features make this place a stand out.

Gong Cha is supposed to be known for its quality teas but there is no distinct flavor of tea in their drinks whether it is oolong, black, or green tea. The service is great and the menu has a good selection of drinks but the taste of the drinks is off.
Tea was ok, but the bubbles were only partially cooked, the inside was grainy. They do no ice and 50% sugar, though, so that's nice. The speed was ok; they were changing out the drink sealing machine at the time so that delayed a touch.
It's hidden inside an interesting shopping mall in the food court. Staff are friendly and I just miss their bubble tea, one of my favorite tea shops! Tried the strawberry bubble tea with the strawberry pearl( it's gummy bear texture). Loved it

There's also a Bill Murray movie about Gong Cha. It's called "What About Boba?" WHAT TO GET: Their classic milk tea with Boba WHAT ELSE: To get here, go down to the basement in the New World Mall and scoot across to the far North East corner (behind the escalators) IS THAT ALL: Sort of, yes. I had another thought, but it's gong now. I asked if I could buy an arm wrestle, but they redirected me to "Strong Cha." One of the greatest Bubble Tea franchises in the world. ShareTea and Coco are really the only chains that can compare to how delicious the milk tea is from Gong Cha. I haven't explored their fruit options much because I'm so addicted to the taste of their Milk Tea. If you've never had it from Gong Cha, you have to try it. Lots of locations in Manhattan and a few in Queens, and all of them serving milk tea perfection for under five dollars. I asked if they sold drug paraphernalia (for a friend), but they redirected me to "Bong Cha." They are pretty friendly, but wouldn't serve me close to closing time the first and third times I came here. The other times, there was no issue. For customer service (depending on who you get) it can be a 1/5 or a 5/5 but for the milk tea it's off-the-charts. I asked if they had Kowloon-style Bubble Tea, but they redirected me to "Hong Kong Cha." Don't forget to also try Coco out on Main St at the corner of Roosevelt (it's a walk up window). They're both perfect and comparable but slightly different. You really need to try both. I asked if they had any Hawaiian skirts but they redirected me to "Sarong Cha." People who say Bubble Tea all tastes the same, either don't know bubble tea, or are snobs. Just as different beers are better or worse, and all a little different, Bubble Tea can either be good or bad, and as far as the international chains go, it doesn't get better than Gong Cha. I asked if they had Karaoke, but they redirected me to "Song Cha." I had another joke to add but it was just... wrong, cha.
Quick service and easy to order. I like that they ask you for how much sugar and ice you want becuase some places won't unless you mention it. Got classic milk tea with milk foam as my free topping for checking in on yelp! Its an interesting concept for sure. But the milk foam is so hard to slurp up! I think its better to just mix it with the drink. There are notes of saltiness in the sweetness of the milk tea.
My husband and I decided to get some bubble tea for dessert after a lunch date. Service was decent but location was a pain because of how many levels were in this mall and we weren't very impressed with their drinks either. I got the foam milk green tea with 30% sugar+less ice and he got the taro milk tea with 100% sugar+less ice. The green tea had no flavor, tasted like diluted tea and the foam milk was weak (even with extra), the whole drink was tasteless. The salted cheese green tea from Happy Lemon is way better. According to my husband, his taro milk tea was sweet but it tasted normal at best. It was smooth with no chunks at all but it just didn't wow his taste buds. This place definitely didn't live up to the hype and we will not be returning again.
Gong Cha is NOT your regular bubble tea store. They have an impressive and creative menu that even veteran bubble tea stores can learn a thing or two! I enjoyed the Earl Grey Milk Tea with 3 J's. It was sweet yet so tasty! I loved the Earl Grey aroma throughout my drink. The 3 J's - tapioca, pudding, and grass jelly went very well with it too! I would request a bit less milk. A highly recommend! Lychee Oolong Tea is also a must-try! Lychee and Oolong combination were made for each other! I actually love the way they made it. You taste the lychee and you smell the pleasant oolong tea leaves. Make sure you shake it a bit longer so that it will fuse better! Like a lot of trendy bubble tea places these days, they cater to customers' taste in sugar level and ice level. Take your pick! Overall, a very innovative and strong competitor in the bubble tea business! I will be back to try everything on their menu!
I was visiting New World Mall. I decided to stick to this place for tea as this is a familiar place. They provided top 10 items there, which made selection easier. I went with Earl Grey milk tea with 3/ J's. It was very good. Earl grey tea was good, and it had chewy tapioca pearls. In addition there was pudding and herbal jelly (which was like pudding in consistency). All those things put together made it a pleasure to sip this tea.

This Gong Cha is located inside New World Mall's Food Court on the lower level. Take the escalator to the lower floor to the food court. Do not walk up and down Roosevelt Avenue in Flushing as this Gong Cha location is not a stand-alone storefront brick and mortar. It is in competition with Select by Kung Fu Tea in plain sight. I obtained my default drink. Peach green tea, medium $6.25 Gong Cha has my favorite topping grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 which refers as "herbal jelly." Toppings are extortionately priced $1.00. My grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉/ herbal jelly fix was fulfilled with enrichment satisfaction. The quantity for grass jelly was minimal. My drink was chilled, but not cold where the ice was sweating for condensation. It is a cloudy, raining yet very humid Saturday June afternoon. I needed ice. I did requested 30% sugar to reduce my sugar intake as suggested whom Former NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg would be proud of my sugar intake level. I highly despise extreme sweet drinks for the high sugar content volume and agree with former NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg's limiting sugar level initiatives consumption of sugary drinks. I drank it while waiting for family member who had a medical appointment. Customer service is average. I did obtained my sales receipt. I did obtained my drink label. I felt refreshed with needed antioxidants gained for my green tea fix. read more
I was enjoying my meal in this massive Asian food court & wanted to complete the meal with a boba milk tea. At Gong Cha I ordered a tarot milk tea with mango pearls. The worker was very nice & my order came out quickly. The drink though tasted very watery & thin. So the tarot flavor was good, but extremely weak. I was a bit disappointed. read more

Get the lemon ai yu with 50 percent sugar and less ice. Trust me, I usually drink 100 percent sugar and I think 50 percent is already too sweet. For the mustache series, get the milk foam green tea. I usually get 70 percent sugar and less ice for this one. But try whatever you like. You can either drink the milk foam from the cup so you get a taste of the foam, drink it from a straw on the bottom and then to the top to get the foam or mix the foam and tea together. read more

Quick service, and I like how they ask for your preference for sugar and ice levels. Some places forget to ask nowadays... The milk tea with herbal jelly was perfect for a hot and humid summer day and I liked how it was not too diluted with too much milk. read more

The new Lava Chocolate is definitely my new favorite. It tastes just perfect to me and I love the texture. If you wanna snap a drink on your story, this Lava series is a good choice. read more

I love coming here to get bubble tea. They have such a HUGE selection, but I always go to my two all-time favorites: the lychee oolong green tea and the passion fruit green tea with lychee jelly. I prefer the taste of the bubble tea here, compared to the other bubble tea places nearby. The teas here taste a lot more fresh, especially the lychee oolong tea. For this particular food stall, you can see them making your drinks from start to finish. None of their drinks are made from powder so there will never be the weird residue left over. I asked an employee, and he told me that all their teas are made from tea leaves. My mother even likes the drinks here, that's how you know it's good since my mom rarely drinks anything other than water. The price of the drinks are also reasonable as you get quite a big for the large. read more
Pretty much your standard bubble tea chain store. I ordered the Earl grey milk tea with three J's (boba, pudding, herbal jelly) and added less ice and 50% sugar. In hindsight, I should've asked for 25% sugar because it was still pretty sweet. The boba was pretty good - chewy but and not under or overcooked. I prefer this place over Kung Fu tea because there is more of an actual tea flavor. Bonus: they accept credit cards without a minimum fee - pretty much the only stall in the food court to do so. Also, check in on yelp for a free milk foam cap. read more

I have stop drinking Bubble Tea due to the recent reports on the tapioca balls which make up the 'bubbles' in bubble tea, may include cancer causing chemicals! Oh Hell No ... But dammit the bubble tea here was worth the risk ... The spot is located in the lower level of the New World Mall in a corner stall. If you can't find the spot, just look for the stall with the longest line. Sticking to the basics today, Large Pearl Milk Tea Please :). It was perfect in every way, from the Tea perfectly sweetened to the last tasty Bubble! Shout out to my man Anderson C., for putting me on to this spot ... If BOBA could be the only thing that I could drink for the rest of my life and not die, I would totally do it, and GONG CHA WOULD DEFINITELY be one of the places I would frequent all the time. This place is just everything you hope a boba place to be...efficient, clean, and soo many UNIQUEEEEEEE OPTIONS mixed with the classics. I really dig the herbal jelly and egg pudding here, so try the: EARL GREY MILK TEA with 3J'S- if you like a little extra something something in your boba! The toppings in this drink make it so good, paired with earl grey tea it's perfection. For a Summery drink get the "Lemon Juice with white pearls and ai-yu" it's LEMONY and refreshing. I like the little lemon zest that they put in it. I always ask for 30% sweet, because I like my drinks not as sugary. Everything here is fresh, doesn't taste chemical-y, high quality, fun combinations to try, can't wait to come back, depressed to think I can't have this for a while!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OFFICIALLY OBSESSED WITH MILK FOAM TEA!!!! I got milk foam tea four months ago in Manhattan location and was blown away. For some weird reason I forgot about it and now I'm back to try it. It's actually because I tried happy lemon's cheese drink series that reminded me of this. TBH happy lemons salted cheese drink is just also milk foam tea drink as well, except the name is different and you can taste more cheesiness. The milk foam series in gong cha is AMAZING but I think happy lemons is a bit better. They are probably bunch of fat and calories though. Anyways if you come here you have to get milk foam! There are so many choices for bubble tea in Flushing that you really don't have to Yelp to find one. But if you do have to Yelp and you want to know where the best bubble teas are, this place Gong Cha would be on that list. I am as much a bubble tea snob as I am with beer. So when I tell you that this place is on point, you know you are getting quality. What is quality bubble tea? The bubbles has to have an even consistency every time you order. That A la Dente that you expect from spaghetti at a fine Italian restaurant. The even balance of firm and chew is crucial. This place serves those bubbles with that consistency each and every time I've ordered from here. Their bubbles is slightly smaller than I would have liked but it is not enough to irk even the bubble fan in you. They have a pretty wide array of selections. They proudly display their top 10 for easy ordering. My favorite go to orders include... 1) QQ Passion Fruit Green Tea - Strong passion fruit flavor with each sip. Nice citric-y flavors that goes well with the tea and sweetness from the bubbles. 2) Earl Grey Milk Tea with 3 J's - the J's stand for the different types of jellies included in this drink. You can order simply with bubbles and skip the 3 J's if you like. This drink is flavorful to the max. Good stuff. The one drink that I have tried that I DIDN'T like was the Lychee Oolong Tea with Bubbles. The flavor was too mild on the Oolong and Lychee flavor was non-existence. I should dock a point for never having their loyalty card in stock. But they do stamp your receipt so that when they do have the cards in stock they can note it on your loyalty card. Still, it is getting a wee bit inconvenient having to keep all my order receipts. I'm willing to let it slide for 1 or 2 more trips but after that the star gets docked. Overall, I am such a fan of this place. read more
