Great pizza with an amazing happy hour deal. All the pizza is exceptional but if you are a ranch lover make sure to get that on the side because it's homemade and incredible. I've come here a few times with friends and I'm always impressed. Extremely tiny inside but they have a few tables outside. Check this place out! read more

Not a bad late night pizza spot. Got the margherita and the home run. Between the two I'd lean pizzas with more topping at this place, just because I wasn't impressed with the mozzarella flavor or the red sauce, both were weak and bleh. read more

They don't honor the prices printed in their menu or online, they add a "takeout service charge" when you come pick up your pizza on your own and take it out, and they put so little sausage on your pizza that you paid for that you wonder if your pizza is actually just a cheese pizza that a couple of sausages accidentally fell on. I showed them the price on their menu, and their retort was simply, "Oh yeah, the manager has not changed the prices on the menu on online yet." I was really hoping to like this place to have a go-to downtown pizza place, but their idea that you can simply charge whatever you want regardless of what you do or don't advertise is just wrong and shows a complete lack of integrity and customer service. read more

The best. Dangerously good. Can't think of what to eat? Pizza from Favorite Pizza is an easy go-to. Downtown? On W. 6th? Favorite Pizza is a no-brainer. Don't want to spend an arm and a leg at nearby restaurants? Favorite Pizza is your spot. Best pizza in Austin (beside Via 313, but they're totally different styles). read more

I'm eating a slice after my team lost on Sunday. Honestly, this does cheer me up. Really crispy crust, light cheese (but enough), good classic pepperoni pizza flavor (NY style). It's not perfect, but for the price + speed + location it's well worth it. read more

Favorite pizza is legit. Yes, I too bemoan the loss of Frank and Angie's and their legendary pizza and spaghetti specials that helped college students eat well on a budget. Also the classic red sauce and tables were throwbacks to times before my own. But there's a new contender in town and it's Favorite Pizza. Some of the other posts talk about dropping $100 bills for a pizza meal out which I originally scoffed at, but it's all true. This place can get expensive. Quickly. That being said, when looking at the breakdown, you'll see that the prices can be actually pretty okay depending on what you're ordering and the quality is very good. First. That Cesar Salad is amazing. It's built with baby romaine leaves, well dressed and topped with a mild chili crisp which is out of this world. Is it $14 good? Yes. The slices were all good as well. So, shame on us for getting 5 slices from the case at ~$5 each instead of a whole pizza for ~$20-25 but we wanted to try different things. Wine was definitely pricey at $14 a glass. The food is super tasty. They have a cute little urban patio on the side which around sundown is a little bit blinding but I was glad to sit there. The inside is like a tiny diner setup. All-in-all, thumbs up on Favorite Pizza. Do they dethrone "Via 313" for me? No, but that's like comparing Fujis to Honeycrisp apples. Are they a competitor to Homeslice? Definitely. Bottom line, if you're downtown on West 5th, and looking for pizza, check out favorite pizza. And bring your read more

Had the chance to try this place when in the area - this was a small spot and while we were walking around we got hungry and ended up dropping in on this spot to try some good food! This place reminds me of a small old school pizza bar and it was absolutely the cutest. I forgot the name of the pizza I got but it was with sausage mushroom olives and more! Basically a supreme pizza - and this was delicious! Would recommend if in the area. read more

One of the top slices in ATX! Offering salad on top white pizza as an option is genius. Slices were reheated until crispy on bottom and gooey on top the way they should be. I called Favorite Pizza with a last-minute LARGE order for the Austin High Cross Country team and booster club. Bobby, the manager, was momentarily overwhelmed because this is a VERY small pizza place. Then he said, "I want to make this happen for you, let's see what we can do!". Minutes later, he called back and we determined how much pizza to order (96 slices!). They busted their butts to make sure all 12 pizzas were ready right on time (5 fewer pizzas than I originally intended to order). Athletes and adults were very pleased with these tasty (HUGE) pizzas, and there was plenty leftover to take home. Thank you Bobby and Favorite Pizza! read more

Favorite Pizza - Classic Pepperoni Slice - Pizza Near Me - Austin, Texas

This place serves tradition NY style pizza (thin crust, large slices). They have a variety of classic toppings and different cheeses and sauces. I went with the classic pomodoro (tomato) sauce with pepperoni and mushroom. The pizza was great. Had a nice crust with some wood fire charring that adds to the flavor and crispness yet keeps it chewy. I also got a Caesar salad. The salad had a perfect subtle hint of anchovy oil and lemon, the dressing was excellent. I almost liked the salad more than the pizza! My only complaint is that the pizza has too much cheese for the ratio to crust. My recommendation is to request "light on the cheese" and it'll be a perfect pie. read more

The staff was super friendly, helpful and patient. The restaurant is very clean and the pizza is good. I ordered 1/2 meatball & basil 1/2 pepperoni. The pizza is great straight from the oven... meaning, it's not good left over pizza. It does reheat well, for some reason. They also have these tasty frozen drinks that you can also get to go, a frozen Midori sour and a frozen Aperol Spritz. They pour them straight from the machine and canned them. It's pretty cool. 1 last thing ... wait for it.... ... BEST CAESAR SALAD EVER!!! Don't pass on the salad. Mic drop read more

Horrible customer service and honestly subpar product. Never coming back here - and frankly side eyeing all my fave MML restaurants - after this traumatizing experience tonight. Someone at Favorite Pizza listed the restaurant on the app TooGoodToGo, a social impact tech-enabled b-corp fighting a major issue in developed countries - food waste. On the app, Favorite Pizza advertises a surprise bag for $5.99 that's supposed to be worth an $18 value. Story time: when I approached the order window, the red-headed young cashier was helping a group of 4 before me and kindly said that I would be next. After that group ordered and paid, another man approached and quickly ordered and paid before the cashier turned her attention back to me despite saying I was next. Fine, no big deal. Then things really went downhill from there. I explained that I was picking up a TooGoodToGo order and proceeded to show her my prepaid order on the app. She had no idea what this was so she brought over the bar manager Mike Brennan. He also had no idea what this was so I explained the app's premise, the amount I paid, and again showed that I was well within the pickup time stated. Mike started to get unnecessarily defensive and patronizing asking if I was looking for a food donation and that they don't have items for $6. I knew this was false so I asked how much a slice of cheese was - about $4 he responded. So perplexed as to why he was trying to act like this is a fine dining establishment and didn't have anything for $6 lol. His responses were so condescending- saying he could get me a slice with a side of ranch. Like sir, I can afford the meal but you're not grasping the fun/altruistic point of the app... I wasn't sure why Mike would rather argue with me over some cheap pizza I still did pay $6 for but he did. He ended up compromising by wrapping up 2 slices but with a sneer and patronizing laugh. Not the $18 value they advertise on the app but at this point I truly didn't care what I was getting. It makes me sad that he thinks treating paying customers -or anyone- like a begging, inconveniencing thief is an acceptable human response. After this whole conundrum I suggested he try getting the restaurant off the app to avoid a repeat of this situation. Again, Mike condescendingly replied that he didn't know how to because he doesn't use it. Okay - I was well aware of that by this point - but escalating to the GM later would probably be a good place to start?! Ignorance/incompetence is not a good excuse and reeks of poor attitude. But I walked away not wanting to press any further. Anyway onto the pizza - the marg slice was edible because it's pizza, but being from NJ/NYC it just didn't hit. I'm constantly on the hunt for the best of Austin and I'd rank Little Deli, Home Slice, and Pedrosos muchhh higher for a NY style slice. read more

Working in the area, wanted to try this place out. I ordered something simple, A slice of pepperoni pizza - $4.70 something Dr. Pepper - $3 Now with that being said that Dr. Pepper is a 12 OZ can, $3 is a little excessive. Almost as much of the slice of pizza. The pizza was alright, the cheese is pretty normal nothing out of this world. The size of the slice is not that big as well. I've had bigger slices for around the same price elsewhere. Over all I would say this place is mainly for people with a few beers in bar hopping down 6th St. Not coming back again. read more

This is my favorite NY style pizza place in Austin. Love everything I tried: Margherita and the one with peppers. Yummmm.

The place is cute and the service is fast, but overall I find it hard to spend $7-something on one slice with a side of ranch. As a standard benchmark, I always order the standard pepperoni slice. Verdict: did not crack the top-5 pizza-slices in Austin. That said, their "Hey Butter Butter" pizza (butternut squash) was a banger. The crust was crispy (yay!) but bland in flavor (boo!) and the ranch was not quite up to par with other in-house dressings. read more

So I won't come back. Why? Because guess how much a CAN OF DR PEPPER is? Three friggin dollars. That's ridiculous. One slice and a can of soda for $7.75.. The pizza was good, but the audacity to charge three dollars for something that they probably pay less than $.50 for... That's too much to make me return. read more

The pizza had a nice crisp but barely any sauce on it. That made the pepperoni too salty. The Caesar salad was great, a little too oily for my liking but still was a classic. I had the westsider to drink, it was too lemony/sour but after it was watered down I was able to enjoy it. The service was great though! Super friendly staff. They had a small inside area to sit and also a small patio. I was able to find seating even though it was packed so that was not a big deal. read more

Favorite looks like they somehow got all of the furniture from a 90s New Jersey pizza joint shipped to Texas, which is cool, and gave me some serious nostalgia. The pizza is decent, kind of pricey at almost $5 a slice, but the outdoor patio is nice and they have a mister fan to keep you cool and block out the sound of traffic. The habanero margarita was really good - strong, tasted like fresh lime juice and a little spicy, but also around $12. Favorite definitely is an enormous leap up from Roppollo's if you're out drinking, but it's too expensive for me to come regularly. read more

Pizza was good. Waitress was not kind. Dirty blond lady with a pony tail, was super rude. We placed an order and then my husband. Was in a good mood and was chatting, and she responded, " I just need your order", but we gave it to her, but she her response to being rude was that she didn't hear us. Ok, Karen. So we didn't leave a tip, and wrote on the receipt she was not kind...so on her way off her shift she made another rude comment on her way out. If you don't like food service, then don't do it. She did not represent this restaurant well. Bummer. Hire wait staff that can be kind at 7:45pm on a Saturday. Unfortunate. The two stars are for the pizza. Very tasty. read more

Safe to say it was not my "Favorite Pizza"... Not a whole lot to unpack here, cause it's pretty straightforward. The pizza looked really good when we opened it. Tasted fine, but not great. Nothing special about it to be honest. Parking/pickup was also a bit of a clusterf*ck. Pricing is also pretty high... $20 for a medium pepperoni pizza and another $20 for a sandwich? I can see wanting to go here if you live downtown or are already happen to be nearby, but it's not worth going out of your way for. read more

Not bad, but not great. This place is just not for us and serves a better purpose for people who are wasted on 6th and just want to grab a slice. We were expecting a bit more since we had a nice time at Sammie's last spring, but Favorite Pizza is operating at a lower level. First thing: the place is dirty. Crumbs everywhere and there is no garbage can inside (only outside). Counters were not wiped down and if you're a party larger than two people, then get your butts outside or you're sitting on the stools. If you sit outside, the fans and mist are going and every table was wet, which meant that your food would also be getting wet, so not the best design. The pizzas in the case looked like they had been sitting out for a while, so we opted to get a whole pie, the #4, "the Piazza." It was good, but certainly no different than what you would find at Home Slice or the like. The chopped salad (which is basically Nancy Silverton's Mozza recipe) was fine and we did like the meatballs too. Actually, no complaints about the food, but the price point was higher than other places in the same category--probably to justify the downtown rent. We do want to shout out the "favorite slush," which is one of the few times that we've had a frozen drink that delivers on flavor, consistency, and booziness. They also have our beloved Genny Cream Ale on tap, so nice job on that. The guys working were nice, but nobody was hustling and they were standing around when the place could have obviously used some elbow grease. Like we said, the food isn't bad, but considering the prices and layout, we have no plans to come back. read more

I travel alot...IMO, the New York pizza here is better than any pizza in NYC...crust was crispy not soggy and excellent toppings.

Got a couple pizzas for takeout. It took about an hour for the pizzas to be ready. I thought the pizzas were really good, not too greasy, good flavor, crust held well. We ended up finishing both pizzas. I also ordered a salad unfortunately I didn't get to try it however it did look really good. I would've given this place five stars, however I ordered 4 sides of ranch, that were two dollars each, and they did not give me my ranch. So I spent eight dollars for some thing I never got. Contrary to a previous review, it IS New York style pizza. About as close as one can get to the New York classic pizzerias such as Joe's and John's Bleeker Street. Credentials...lived in NYC for many years and love pizza. And Favorite Pizza is excellent. A tad pricy but worth it; gotta pay to play. It's a very small place with counter service and stools, along with some outdoor seating, so don't expect a "Home Slice" type of atmosphere. Someone said they would rather go to Sammie's.
