I'm a Napa Valley local, and I brought my cousin from out of town here for some wine tasting. This is a very new winery and requires reservations in advance. A bit of a walk uphill from parking, get some cardio in before drinking wine! The Victorian house is absolutely beautiful inside and out. You are free to wander the house and look outside. The wine tasting takes place outside on the patio. It is such a beautiful view of the Napa Valley and the highway. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Oh, and the wine was delicious, I guess that's important They provided something snacks, and I was pleased to find they had gluten free option! (Veggie chips, cheese dip, and nuts). I hadn't even told them of my gluten allergy. I recommend this winery and want to come here again! read more

As a local this is one of my absolute favorite places to visit and bring guests to. The wine, service, location, and overall vibe of the place is a truly unique find in the best way. The tasting is totally worth it with a set of fantastic wines alongside a stylish picnic of small bites. Faust was so much fun- a newer winery, but tied to the interesting Faust fables (labels named after the fables- selling your soul to the devil) beautiful atmosphere, fun attentive staff, and awesome snack boxes to enjoy with the tasting. Obviously you are visiting Faust for their amazing wines. A not to be missed is The Pact 2018 Cab. But, have you been to their new Faust Haus tasting room yet? It's a gorgeous fully renovated Victorian home. Lots of great spaces downstairs where it's dark and cozy with fascinating murals, pictures and other artifacts. Upstairs (if you're lucky enough to go up there) it's gleaming bright white - like night and day! When I was there, we tasted on their beautiful multi tiered terrace. It's easy to forget that you are just off 29 when you are sitting up there, perched with a delicious glass of Coombsville's finest. Oh, and let's not forget the delicious treat box that comes with your tasting! It looks like a gift box, and there are so many yummies inside, your stomach will say "thank you!" read more

I'm honestly tempted not to write this review because I'm afraid it's going to get even more popular and I secretly really want to keep it to myself! First off- their wine is very good. I hadn't realized it was so popular, and hadn't tried it until our first visit, but I was really impressed. I'm not usually a huge fan of Cabernet but I truly enjoy theirs (the others I tasted here with ARE huge full-bodied varietal fans and equally loved the wine so it really is a good crowd pleaser) That being said, the review I'm leaving is really for the overall tasting experience. We live locally and come to Napa Valley often but it's been a long time since I've had such an experience like we did at Faust. My husband is in the wine industry and we rarely become members at other wineries but we joined here immediately after our first trip because we had such an incredible time here. We knew we wanted to be able to attend their events/parties (we just missed one hosted by a photographer and coffee-table book author where they taught you how to take better photos- how cool is that?), and we know any friends we bring along will love it here too. The grounds are beautiful, the decor and styling inside is impeccably styled- very modern/minimalist mixed with eclectic, and the views are gorgeous. You can't go wrong whether you choose an indoor or an outdoor setting here. What they are really doing right are the small details and unexpected extras like the black box they bring filled with gourmet treats (their rosemary shortbread is heavenly- I dream about it) and the ultra-luxe black and gold menus fastened together with an engraved money clip, plus the incredible art featured inside and on bottles. Lastly the phenomenal staff here are also incredibly cool and helpful without ever seeming pretentious or pushy. We've already been a couple times now and I'm still so excited to go back again. read more

Overall, a very sub-par experience but giving two stars ... one for the general ambience and another one for their service, as they were flexible in accommodating our group, even when we ran late for our appointment. Very poor value for money, as the host barely poured 3-4 wines for tasting. Not only most other places offer more wines as part of tasting, unlike our experience at most other nice properties, our host didn't even bother to ask if anyone in the group wanted to try another pour from any of the 3-4 wines we got to taste at Faust. It was the last place we visited during that trip to Napa and, based on the underwhelming experience, we started using the phrase "don't get 'Fausted'." read more

Caution when purchasing ANYTHING FROM THIS WINERY!!!! I went to this winery with a friend who is a member. I purchased ONE bottle of wine. 5 months later I get a $500 Charge on my card!!!! $500!!! Wait what?! Why do they have my card info on file?! I had NO IDEA. I thought I had Fraudulent charges on my card and had to contest it with my bank and cancel the card and order a whole new card!! Ughhhhh!!!! Then a week later my friend asks if any of us in the group have a card ending in these 4 digits. Yes me!!! Turns out they charged her quarterly shipment to MY CARD!!! Like whey would they even save my card info.?!?! Super sketchy!!! So be careful. read more

You get small bites to pare with the wines and they complimented well. Can't wait to come back and bring other people to try! The tasting experience here was not good at all. The quality of the wines do not even come close to matching the price. Faust is Quintessa's second label and certainly doesn't deserve its own tasting room. If you're looking for nothing more than a nice view and a repainted old house, this might be your place. Good Wine Story With an Unhappy Ending Faust has, arguably, some very well crafted wines. They also have a nice play on the origin of their brand name. If you love Faust wine you would be better off buying a bottle at your local wine store and skipping the tasting room experience. We, a group of 7 people, were looking very forward to our "elevated tasting experience" which was 1 white, 3 reds, and "a special extra glass" along with a snack plate. After a slightly whimsical, canned standup comedy-like presentation on the concept of the tasting room and brand name, the actual pouring began. I do need to mention that you are given 1 glass for the white wine pour and 1 glass to be shared for the upcoming red pours. The 2 glasses remain throughout. Our server, Troy poured about 2 tablespoons of wine into each glass and left for approx 10 min. We were all stunned at the tiniest pours any of us had experienced in a tasting room. After the 2nd and equally disappointing wine pour we were left for another 15 plus minutes and said something to one of the other servers who placated us with the (out of tasting order) magnum blend. 2 of the people in our group had their red wines poured by the server into their white wine glasses which still had bits of white wine left in them. When they said something about it, instead of repouring, Troy just said "Oh it doesn't matter... if anyone doesn't want theirs just send them down to the end of the table and I'll drink them!" UNBELIVEABLE- Apparently we all took that to mean that Faust crafting of their wines is actually not an art or science because a 1 ounce pour of red mixed with a half ounce of white is "no big deal". At this point we were finished and amazed at the unprofessional and disappointing experience. I would like to add that 3 of us live in the Napa and Sonoma area and that all of us have done many wine tastings and know what is normal and acceptable. Also, for the record, this was our first tasting of the day so we were not clouded in judgement from any earlier drinking influences. **The condensed takeaway: Faust has a good name for wine and unfortunately their tasting room house and their teaching of the staff needs much more attention. The tasting service does a great disservice to the wine itself. With the penny-pinching pours and no offer to revisit any of the wines, it is difficult for even the an experienced wine taster let alone the average wine enthusiast to be sure if they would want to make a purchase. The $90 "elevated tasting experience" price tag is money that should be used, instead, to buy a nice bottle of wine and enjoy it somewhere else. read more

No Lure, No Pact After almost two years of restricted travel, I finally decided to enjoy a short getaway to my favorite place of Napa/ Sonoma wine country. Selecting places to visit is always fun and challenge. This time I decide to include Faust winery in Napa amongst others. I have enjoyed their Cab for many years now so I was anxious to try their good stuff which they don't generally distribute. On our second day, we arrived at this winery with great anticipation. Our host Troy, who jokingly referred to himself as "Good looking Troy" greeted us warmly and ushered us to a room for this VIP tasting experience. He started by giving us a bit of the history lesson about Faust followed by a long and somewhat pretentious description of the charcuterie that was included to elevate our tasting experience. Then came the long awaited first pour. In all my years, I have never seen a pour so short. After a couple of wines, our good looking host disappeared leaving us unattended for quite a while. After some time, I had to ask another person walking by if they were planning to come back soon because twenty drops of wine was not enough to keep me hostage for that long. Well, Troy did come back and he poured the final two wines right into the two used glasses with residue from the previous two but assured us that it does not matter. What can I say? Wines were predictably good. The experience will refrain me from buying Faust for a very long time. read more

I wish I could give Faust more than just 5 stars. I've been to multiple wineries in Napa Valley and this is the place I keep coming back to! It is on the most gorgeous hillside and I am obsessed with the modern take on their old Victorian. It is the first winery I became a member of because it is just THAT GOOD! The servers and sommeliers are absolutely amazing- they are so kind, nonjudgmental, and genuinely want to make sure you have a good time. The first thing to note: this is a Huneeus winery (Quintessa, Flowers), that means full on wine club hard sell, which is tedious, unnecessary and distracts from the tasting experience. That said, part from the hard sell, our servers were friendly and courteous throughout. The wine was reasonably good, but significantly overpriced. This is a second label being marketed at a premium. The food and nibbles were a nice touch, but seem to be there to justify the non-refundable tasting fee. The outside seating area is comfortable and picturesque, but sadly while the noise from the highway isn't deafening, it does spoil what would otherwise be a pleasant setting. read more
