We spotted Fatima's from the road and decided to give it a try. The space was unpretentious but clean and copesetic. I ordered the Ugali with Sukuma and she ordered Hilib Ido. My dish came with three vegetable preparations, leafy green collards, lentils and a kind of potato/pepper stew, reminiscent of Ethiopian cuisine, but with fufu, a mass of white, moist cornbread (where Ethiopian food would have had injera). Hers was a lamb and vegetable sandwich wrapped in a flatbread (which I did not try). All the food was delicious and beautiful. A side of homemade hot sauce added extra heat to mine, which I enjoyed --- but even without it the flavors were both satisfying and complex. You might call this comfort food that might push you out of your comfort zone (unless of course you happen to be East African yourself). And clearly it was home-style cooking, no shortcuts, everything from scratch (and took some time to come for that very good reason) -- it had that kind of freshness and honest presentation. I loved how my simple order was a complete meal, a very ample portion but not too much of any one thing. And I loved how easy it was and will be to eat here as a vegan - the menu simply and naturally has a variety of vegan selections - which carnivore can supplement if they choice. I have had nothing but good experiences at Fatima's. The food is absolutely divine. I lived in east Africa for two years and miss it always, and this food brings me right back and puts a huge smile on my face every time. Everything is amazing. Most recently I had the pilau dinner - huge serving of perfectly spiced rice with various stews served over it. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! The samosas are fragrant and delicious - my partner's and my personal favorite is the spicy lentil samosa. Additionally, the owners are so kind and wonderful. He insisted on giving us some tea when we picked up our food, and when he asked how we liked it we told him to make it however he likes it. Man oh man was it delicious, and I will certainly be adding it to all future orders. They also have a convenient and safe process during covid times for picking up your order at a window. I go to school in Providence, Rhode Island and I am part of the African student association at Brown University. I have asked this restaurant to cater a few events, and I absolutely love them! First, they are extremely nice and are very responsive to both phone calls and emails. I have never had a problem getting a hold of them. Next, they are extremely welcoming and flexible with regards to dates and pickup times! Finally (and most importantly), the food they make is SO DELICIOUS! We alway get positive comments about the food and so I have nothing but positive comments to say about this restaurant. A find! Best samosas we've ever had. Service was terrific. We were given complementary chai and an African donut "to try" and the host, Omar was genuinely interested in pleasing us and excited about his wife, Fatima, the owner/chef's cooking and wanting to share what she made. He promised us there are new offerings daily and to try their breakfast. We will do that. We are vegetarians and our rice and vegetable stew was spiced just right. We bumped in to this place while lost a few years ago and loved it. Honestly forgot the name because this is not a town we come to. Today while driving through town on the way to New Hampshire we decided to see if we could find it again. So thankful we did. The food is outstanding. Generous portions and so nice to be served by someone who is obviously proud of their roots. We get the feeling that everything on the menu is delicious. We ate at Fatima's tonight for the first time. We will definitely be returning! To start with, the service was fantastic. They are friendly, helpful, and absolutely delightful. The food was delicious. We had the platter with additional pieces of Somali anjero. The meet was tender and juicy, with perfect blend of spices. And the vegetables! Delicious, homemade food! And the owners were incredibly welcoming and friendly. We had both the beef and veggie samosas, which were wonderful, with complex and interesting flavors. They came with homemade hot sauce on the side, hot but really good. Then we had the Somalian anjero with goat stew. The bread was spongy and incredibly tasty, and Fatima gave us some lentil and cauliflower stews as well as the goat stew. It was all yummy, and I especially loved the veggie stews. I think of they actually loaded it with tomatoes, onios, cilantro some type of sauce I wouldn't have mind the lack of meat, and perhaps a diffrent cheese. We all have bad days. The cubano sandwich was outstanding.
