Came here today for the first time with my mom, we had a Groupon so we decided to try it out. The ambience is cool, it has the whole retros 50's diner feel, the service was very good, food came fast, it was really fresh and was quite tasty. The portions look small but I was stuffed and even took leftovers home! This place is a bit pricey for burgers and I most likely wouldn't have come without a Groupon but other than that we were quite satisfied, a little difficult to find parking here though, you may have to fight with other drivers for a spot. :P xx read more

I ordered a chocolate shake, expecting it to be nice and chocolatey, after having a nice one at the Broadway location. However, the shake I had here was anything but chocolatey. I was flavorless, rather like a Mickey D's shake. The fries were a bit over done. Not much else to say. I'd eat here again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I got a monster burger with avocado spread and fries. I split the strawberry shake with my buddy, after after the burger, all diet rules went out the window. It's the ultimate cheat day. I came here with a Groupon deal and at full price I'd buy a Fatburger anytime. Closest Canadian burger experience I've had to In and Out in California. Fresh vegetables, customer choice of garnish, and cheap add ons ie. bacon, cheese, etc. $1.99 for 2 add-ons. I had a regular fatburger with side bacon and mushrooms. It was a great burger, cooked well and piled high the garnish. The skinny fries were hot, long, and tasty without a ton of salt on them. Decor for dining in is a diner feel, this location is on the small side with 3 TV's but they were small and unless you were close to them hard to view a sports event. You can grab a caesar or beer here which I didn't know as well as a co-branded Buffalo wings franchise in the same location? Definitely a place to go for burgers. read more

Location is accessible with easy parking. I tried the classic fatburger with curly fries and it was filling! Hard to find good curly fries at burger joints now a days. The wings were cooked perfectly and with a good kick of flavour...loved the hot wings! This place has options if you're craving a meaty burger or veggie burger. Clean and tidy restaurant with a diner vibe. The customer service was great and they would bring your order to your table and clean up after you like any other sit down restaurant would do. The manager even came by shortly afterwards to ask how the food was. Definitely paying slightly more than most usual burger places but it's still worth it to come here to satisfy your cravings. A OK. a decent burger, cooked to order, with whatever you'd like on it (even an egg, Aussie-style). The burgers are decent, the buns are flufffy, but it's not my favorite place in the city. Hit the spot for a quick lunch on a sunday afternoon and saved me from IKEA food. I'm ok with that. Not everything has to be the *most* *amazing* burger* *ever*. Here comes of the case of "The Stinky Beef." I was here for some burgers because I was hearing it was a popular place. So I got in and ordered a triple Kingburger because I was really hungry along with the fries and the coke. Man, this sounds like a death sentence. The burgers were very fresh for sure. Burgers were loaded with a slice of cheese. It came with the classic condiments which included lettuce, tomato, raw onions, pickles, mustard, relish, mayo. I decided to load up everything which included jalapenos, grilled onions and also onion rings. The meat was so juicy that it felt like a explosion of meat juice squirting out of the burger. You can say this like a egg because it has that capacity to handle up to 7x the amount of oil before it can explode. This is basically what the burger feels like. The fries were thick and salty which most people would like. My tongue personally thought it was so salty I would drink Angel Falls and I would still not be done with the amount of salt they put in. Overall, it is a very good experience at Fatburger. I would not say it is one of those things to eat every day, but once a month should be okay. Fatburger is a chain of fast food restaurants that serves, you guessed it, burgers. What sets them apart from all the other burger joints is, well, we're still trying to figure that out. Similar to Five Guy's, there is a selection of F-R-E-E toppings you can choose to spice up your burger. But of course, with all good things, there must be a bad to balance things out. Every restaurant needs equilibrium, right? Homeostasis? No? Okay, we'll cut the cheese. (Pun intended.) The bad that we're referring to are the add-ons. What makes it so bad is that they are not free, although, they are very cheap (not to mention, super delicious) and are a must. However, if this is your first time at Fatburger, we suggest you try the burger as is, just to taste the originality of it. They have a plethora of items for you to choose from, which would make this moment probably the most difficult few minutes of your entire day. Which burger do you want? Or did you want a sandwich? Shake or fountain pop with your meal? Fries or onion rings? Decisions, decisions. Sometimes, too many options could be a bad thing. .. Which, isn't necessarily a bad thing, per se. .. It's just that when everything looks SO delicious, you're forced to choose. This North Burnaby location is a bit awkward as you won't be able to turn in into the lot (stupid island in the way), you'd have to turn at the intersection and make a few turns before you get into their ridiculously small parking lot. Or you could always turn at the intersection before Fatburger and also loop a few turns before you make it in. Speaking of their parking lot - it consists of maybe 10 spots (give or take), and the plaza is shared with a few other businesses. The restaurant itself is quite homey and you will have no troubles finding a spot if you were looking to eat in - which is highly recommended. A soggy burger = no es bueno. Original Fatburger (7/7) This burger is as original as it gets - bun, patty, lettuce, tomato, mustard, relish, onion, pickles. Delicious as it is (minus any add ons, toppings, sauces). Add an egg to it, however, and it will be the most mind blowing (plain/original) burger you have ever tasted. Guaranteed. There's something about their bacon that makes it so amazing, though. It's slightly smokey yet there's a hint of sweetness to it. It may sound unappetizing, but trust us, it's THAT good. For all you chili lovers out there, adding chili to an already full burger is not recommended. Unless you like to eat like a slob and get chili all over yourself, then be our guest. Why ruin two beautiful things by combining it together? We're talking about burgers and chili here. May we remind you you're eating a burger, not a sloppy joe. Their fries are just okay. They taste like any other fries. In conclusion, if you want to eat with your hands and fingers, this is the place to be. It's clean, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the burgers, well, I'll let this post speak for itself. While Fatburger is not a revelation or a huge leap over Red Robin, it was a pretty good visit. My original fatburger came free with a large variety of toppings (including onion rings and banana peppers). They have specialty burgers too (with more exotic choices like avocado). The burger patties still look like fast food patties and not home made patties (I think it's the machine process vs hand-pressing them that makes the difference), but tasted good. read more

And sheesz, lower the prices! Two orders of the original fatburger combo shouldn't come to to $26.50. Burger: Patty was very dry. Meaning, that it tasted like super, extra-lean ground beef cooked 10 minutes too long with no salt and pepper added. Then, the wrapper was turned inside out, with the shiny part around the burger. When I got home 5 minutes later, the top bun was soggy from it's own condensation! Fries: Tasty and okay. Not overcooked. So, I wouldn't come here again because of the actual burger. Get Together Dinner Review Firstly... I need to put this out there that I did not expect to be in a FatBurgers for a reunion with a group of old university friends; however, during the time, we were all struggling to find a place to go and Fatburger seemed like a restaurant that not many of us had tried. Fatburger has been open for a couple years now I believe, When they first launched, they wanted to bring the good old fashion burger joint back to the city.. you know.. the burgers that are meat heavy and packed with everything you can imagine... the ones that require you to unhinge your jaw before you could fit anything in your mouth. Currently, the last part of the statement still holds true... but at the cost of one thing..health. They currently serve extremely oily burgers, but I guess that's why they're called Fatburger. It's been a while since the last time i set foot into fatburger, the first time I had an interesting story because I had a burger craving at the time and they were willing to let me load up with all the options they had, giving me a $35 burger. This time I just wanted something to snack on while catching up with old friends, but to my surprise, my burger was dripping with oil, making it extremely difficult to have any decent conversation without grabbing more napkins or looking like a slob. Aside from that, Fatburgers is still the same ol place I remember it to be. slightly above average priced burgers, questionable cocktails (unless you just want hard liquor straight), and a fascinating menu that caters to everyone. As for the staff and decor, everything was pretty nice. Loved the diner feel and that it was quite enough for us to have a good get together. Finally went to Fatburger in Burnaby and it was expensive! Two cheese burger combo totaled to 25.00 cdn. I dont remember Fatburger being this expensive when I lived in Los Angeles. Though I do applaud the cleanliness and the friendly customer service. Maybe Fido can learn from Fatburger in Burnaby proper customer service. I can go without the flash, the shiny stainless steel open kitchen, the comfy booths, the art works, and just simply give me a good burger for a good price. Oh yes, Fatburger is the ultimate in meaty goodness. I usually get the California burger which is packed full of flavour by way of avocado, zesty sauce, and a hot juicy burger between a soft and chewy bun. Perfect. I ordered take out from here for the first time today, however when I bit into my hot crispy Buffalo chicken burger it was raw! Not the light pink kind of cooked raw, there was a piece of totally uncooked raw chicken breast! I phoned the restaurant and was offered a free meal or my money back....but I highly doubt I'd ever eat there again! This is disgusting and dangerous, people can become very ill from eating ill prepared food, especially chicken! I don't care about the free meal or the $14 I just hope more effort is put into making their food to prevent any incidents in the future! read more

I disagree with other reviewers in terms of the price of the food. There are some values in the menu. 5.99 for a 6 oz cooked to order burger with lots of trimmings does not seem unreasonable served to your table in a clean and modern atmosphere. Having said that just remember burgers are a basic commodity and you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a $10-15 hand ground and formed medium rare burger this is not your place. read more

I've been to this Fatburger location on many occasions, and have yet to be disappointed. The restaurant is clean, the staff is very friendly, and the food is a definite step up from your typical fast food fare. It's not a gourmet meal, but for something quick, and greasy, it's satisfying. They also have the cheapest beer on tap I've found anywhere in the Lower Mainland. Granted, their selection is really limited (I believe they had a Whistler Brewing pale ale, can't remember if there was anything else), but at less than $3 a sleeve, I won't complain. read more

Thought we would give Fatburger a go after a long day out. The staff are lovely and friendly, but unfortunately that is not enough and the food is horrible. I had the Hawaiian cheeseburger with guacamole and my other half had the large fatburger with no mustard or relish. Both were VERY greasy, sloppy and fell apart as you unwrapped the packet. The worst fatburger service ever. The downtown one is the one I'm familiar with. Everybody is nice, always acknowledge a fat tip when you tip them but this place?? I tipped and they said nothing. I wasn't serious so i joked "aren't you supposed to say fat tip?" And the girl responded with "you serious??" And then she did a head shake laugh like I was being ridiculous. I wasn't serious but after her rude head shake laugh, now I was mad. And now I'm writing this review to the snarky staff. Don't laugh and act like I'm out of my mind. Really regret tipping them. I have been to this fatburger location a few times. I usually get the bacon cheeseburger. Beef is always well done and made just how I like it. Worth every penny! You will get great service and freshly made, hot to your table burgers and sides of high quality. The staff actually seems to care about your dining experience and I have always had an excellent dining experience here.
