Wine menu 3/26

Located in a strip mall on Griffin Road just west of University Dr, this spot serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner which seems to be hard to come by nowadays. I have been for breakfast and lunch but haven't made it out for dinner...yet. The first visit a while ago, the food was good but service was a little off. My recent visit however was spot on for both!! I was told they take reservations for Friday for breakfast but not on Saturday or Sunday. We went around 9:30 just to be safe as they mentioned it gets super busy around 11-1 on weekends. It was nice and chill vibe, no fancy or frill, just a good, cute, solid neighborhood spot. Coffee is good and strong and plentiful. I got the huevos rancheros which were constructed a little different than normal but it worked. The egg yolks were cooked a runny perfection. My friends both got the veggie omelet and said it was one of the best they ever had. What I can vouch for is there potato wedges are next level potato perfection. Don't sleep on these. Looking forward to visiting for dinner.

Fat Stork Egg Sandwich

We were in the neighborhood, I've been meaning to try it for a while. When we arrived around noon they were serving brunch. We were sat very quickly and given menus and drinks ordered. Service is very nice and quick. My wife opted for the Cesar salad with grilled chicken and I had the Fat Stork egg sandwich. The salad was very fresh and plentiful with lots of grilled chicken. My sandwich was very large, eggs were fluffy and cheesy, it had bacon and avocado on a brioche bun with potato wedges and a garlic aioli for dipping. We finished with 2 espressos. Highly recommended and we will return.

Thank you Yelp! I never would have found Fat Stork without you. And I love it. I honestly don't know how to describe the type of food. My wife and I split the kabob dinner, which was perfectly cooked. Tender meat and delicious delicate flavor. But, they also have great looking tacos and the table next to us had incredible looking Alfredo pasta. And, the breakfast menu looks incredible. So, how do you categorize it? Simple. It is delicious food in large portions at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and helpful. (We were in a hurry and were were guided to the right dishes.) A lot of fun and quirky signs inside. But a standard strip mall outside. You would never find it without your favorite map app. Looks plain outside. Tastes delicious inside. Don't miss this place. Just go.

I came here on a weekday when they first opened, so it was just me. They place is nice on the inside. You wouldn't be able to tell from the outside. But nonetheless I placed a to go order. Which included the veggie omelette and a side of grits. The omelette was cooked to perfection, and the grits were super creamy just the way I like them. These had to be made with milk. It was so good that I came back during the weekend and got the same thing. The omelette was a little different but the grits were still fire. I would come back in the future for dinner options.

Literally can not think of ANYTHING bad to say about this place and this is after multiple visits! The staff here is impeccable and the food is always been one that is a swing and a homerun. The location is easy to find and there is a nice amount of seating in the place as well as it being spaced out so I don't feel like I am on top of other parties that are eating here at the same time as I am. I have gotten different burgers each time that I am here and the burgers have been amazing and cooked perfectly each time I order them. The best burger I have had from them was the mushroom burger which has bacon, cheese, chipotle mayo, grilled onions and hot pepper bacon jam. The flavors all blended beautifully and the bacon jam had a amazing consistency to it. The burger is insanely huge and so filling that I had to take some home for leftovers! Their fries are also seasoned with something that is out of this world and has an amazing dipping sauce! The prices are reasonable, the burger being about $18 dollars. Yes a little pricey but the burger is massive and great quality and you get a side of fries with it as well! Their chips for the appetizer are also wonderful and have the perfect crunch and seasoning to them as well!

Been here twice -- it's midway between my gallery and my friend's office, in an out of the way strip mall next to a Chana's. But it makes a great meeting point. It's a nice spot for lunch with friends and classic comfort food. Apps, tacos, salads, burgers, kebabs, pastas -- plus a kids' and lunch menu. The décor is Route 66 chic: plastic vines on one wall facing faux brick on the other, little LED lights along the walls and drop ceiling, industrial aluminum seating, and black pleather booths. The music has been an '80s playlist each time I've come. Service is good, the vibe is friendly, and the food is plenty, good -- and tasty.

This place is 100% hidden gem status! Let me tell you the decor here is awesome! The waiter was very helpful, friendly and engaging! I don't know who was in the back cooking but they need to be on food network because the flavor profile of the food was out of this world. First of the aioli sauce was on point. The shrimp was fried to perfection! The seasoning on the shrimp was delicious. The sub roll was soft and toasted or grilled on the inside! I've been to new orleans and had the po' boy there. This one here, is absolutely just as good! Will definitely be back here to try more! I even heard they might have a secret menu! So looking forward to finding out! A+ FAT STORK! *Chef Kiss*

On a cold Florida morning we were looking for a local place to have brunch. We used Yelp and came to Fat Stork. The place is nice and the food was good. Cappuccino could be better. The team were very concerned as the kitchen was backed up and the tables could not be cleared. They were very kind. There is a lot of space to expand the counter area so tables can be cleared. Great sign the place was packed.

We decided to try Fat Stork after reading some reviews. When we walked in, the restaurant was dimly lit, which gave a calming effect, but it was uncomfortably hot inside. We mentioned it to an employee and were told the air conditioning was out, with only portable air conditioning and fans running. Unfortunately, it made dining there unpleasant. At one point, all I wanted to do was go home and go to sleep. We were given a breakfast/brunch menu ( it was after 2 in the afternoon) but noticed other tables ordering short ribs after we had already placed our order. Service was another miss--our server brought both drinks as sweetened iced tea when one was supposed to be unsweetened. I didn't care for the tea, so I asked for a bottle of mineral water, and later realized we were charged for both. When we brought it up, the employee brushed it off and casually offered to return the money in cash, but by then my husband had already paid by card and just let it go. The food itself was fine--I had a nova bagel sandwich and my husband had a BLT - good but nothing special. Overall, the experience fell short due to the uncomfortable temperature, service missteps, and attitude in general. The ambiance and attitude didn't match the quality you'd expect, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, not a hit but a miss.

My Spicy Thai Salad with big chunks of undercooked chicken.

I'd been wanting to try The Fat Stork for a while, so I was happy when my cousins suggested it for dinner. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite meet expectations. We were told the AC was out but that portable units were in place. Still, it was pretty warm inside. We started with chips and guac, but the portion was mostly chips and a very small scoop of guacamole. When we asked about it, the server said the chef wouldn't adjust it, which was disappointing. My salad was decent, but the chicken was undercooked. Overall, I'm glad I gave it a try, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return.

Steak Tacos

This restaurant is not the biggest in terms of size but it definitely excels when it comes to great service & delicious food. My experience was nothing but good from the minute I walked in. I was promptly seated & had my order taken quickly. The appetizer came out fast & food for a group of 5 was served in a super reasonable time. Everything the table ordered came out correctly. The burgers & steak were cooked perfectly. My tacos were piping hot & absolutely loaded with steak. These are far from a traditional taco but they absolutely nailed what they were going for. The cabbage slaw, pickled onions & pico de gallo all come together to make a really flavorful dish. The flour tortillas were grilled to a nice char. The jalapeño mashed potatoes were also really good; the French fries were crunchy & delicious. There's a good variety to their menu so I was already eyeballing some things for my next visit. When you find a local spot with great service & even better food you can't beat it. I strongly suggest giving this place a visit if you've already been thinking about it or never heard of it before. You will not be disappointed!

The food is great! I had a nice BLT sandwich with a lot of cheese and my husband the Stork sandwich with plenty of avocado. Very casual place with great service Jose our server was very nice! Thanks

I don't know why it took me so long to get here when I'd been hearing such great things about it but now that I've been here I'll be a regular for sure! It has very cute interior and they had some great music in the background that wasn't so loud that you couldn't talk to others at your table. My husband decided on the bleu cheese burger with fries as his side and I opted for the churrasco steak with homemade mashed potatoes as my side. All I can say is wow! The food was so delicious! The burger was so huge and took a lot of skill and maneuvering to figure out how to eat it and the fries were amazing. They had some sort of seasoning on them and were served with a delicious aioli sauce on the side. My churrasco was one of the best I've ever eaten and the chimichurri sauce served with it added the perfect touch. The potatoes were creamy, buttery and so, so good. We were both too full to even split a dessert but there were many delicious sounding options. Service was great and all in all a perfect dinner spot although they also serve breakfast/brunch on the weekends and lunch all week. I highly suggest you checking this place out, you won't be disappointed! !

Not only was he very apologetic, he seemed like he actually cared about making the situation right. After inquiring a bit more about the service that night he graciously invited me back for another meal. I understand mistakes happens so it's truly about how they're taken care of after the fact. In this case, it was handled well. I decided to come for brunch this time & overall, it was a really good meal. They weren't super busy but service was good. Our appetizers, drinks & meals all came out in a timely manner. For the most part, everything was right but one of the hash brown sides came out cold (it was quickly swapped for fresh ones). My chicken & waffles were delicious. I especially liked how freshly breaded/fried the chicken was. There was a misunderstanding when it came to ordering our drinks, however. I ordered one that should've came iced but got the other coffee beverage which is served warm. When I brought it up to the waiter he was adamant that it's what I ordered & how it's served. After I questioned it once more, he stuck to that, so I kept the drink. Thankfully, it tasted really good & was poured well but it wasn't what I ordered. It was just a bit off putting that he said it was. He said he'd take the drinks off but this was after we went back & forth about it. This isn't a make or break situation for me but he was set in his ways. As a server, you need to be as adaptive as possible, even if you believe you're right. I'm super thankful to have been invited back because it was a nice meal, as I expected. I'm glad I can now tell people to try them out in good conscience. If you're looking for some delicious food, tasty drinks & good service then you should stop by. They have something for everyone & their staff does a solid job.

As for ambiance, there is plenty seating outside, if inside gets full. They're often busy during lunch and dinner times (understandable), but it's because they're directly across from NSU's campus, and those are peak times (stating the obvious). We came after a busy morning at the beach and I was craving something fresh. After a quick search on Yelp, I found Naked Farmer and was reminded that we were super close to it. It's fairly close to Sawgrass Mills mall and is in a plaza with a good amount of parking. Although the outside seems small, the space inside is pretty long and has a good amount of seating. The servining is "chipotle-style" where you order your food and customize it how you want it and pay at the register at the end. I shared a bowl with my partner and we got half rice and half greens, some toppings, and the chicken thigh. This was a good amount for us to share and it was delicious! We also tried their date cake and my partner was a huge fan of it. I loved how clean the inside was and how nice all the staff was. They had water cups for self service and it was cold even without ice, which I loved! When you're done with your food, you put them away in a cabinet which is constantly cleaned out by staff which helped give the space a clean aesthetic. Like "let's take pictures before we eat because this patio belongs in a lifestyle magazine" gorgeous. Las Olas energy at its finest. The outdoor seating is fantastic, the atmosphere feels upscale without being stuffy, and honestly, the food was outstanding. Which is why this hurts. We came for Mother's Day brunch and intentionally avoided rushing over for happy hour pricing because we wanted a relaxed meal. Adult decision. Responsible. Mature. Mistake number one apparently. Started with the charred corn and avocado dip and I need whoever created that dish to be recognized with some sort of civic award. Ridiculously good. One of those appetizers where you immediately start calculating whether licking the bowl in public is socially acceptable. Then came the steak and eggs discussion. My wife and I were both looking at the steak and eggs listed on the menu for $26.75. Our waiter explained that the standard steak was only four ounces and casually suggested upgrading to a six ounce or eight ounce cut instead. Now listen carefully because this is where the plot twists into a financial thriller. At no point during this conversation was pricing for the upgrade mentioned. And shame on me for not asking. That part is absolutely on me. But the suggestion was delivered with the same casual energy as "would you like fries with that?" So I upgraded to the eight ounce. My wife went with the six ounce. She also had a margarita she loved. We skipped dessert because we were stuffed and, as it turns out, accidentally entering a luxury cattle futures market. Then the handheld payment machine arrived. $175. I stared at that screen like it had just informed me my mortgage was due immediately. Turns out those extra six ounces of sirloin between the two plates carried an upcharge that could finance a small fishing boat. Roughly ten dollars an ounce for the upgrade. Somewhere, a Wagyu cow laughed at me from a distance. And look, before anybody jumps in, yes... I should have asked. Lesson learned. But restaurants also know exactly what they're doing when upgrade pricing gets floated around casually without numbers attached. There's a difference between upselling and a sneak attack. Which makes this review frustrating because I genuinely loved almost everything else. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was fantastic. Service was friendly. But nothing tanks the ending of a brunch quite like feeling blindsided by steak math. Pro tip for future diners: If they suggest the upgraded steak, ask the price immediately. Ask twice. Possibly get it notarized. Three stars because I really do want to come back someday. But right now I still feel like I got hit with a reverse happy hour.
