When this place was about to open up, we got a menu through the mail. Looked like something different so I was excited to try it out. The type of food is more like something you'd be craving for with the munchies or just something random. However, they do it right. It actually tastes pretty good and fairly good prices for the food, especially during lunch. My favorite Sandwich so far is the Fat Jersey, but without a doubt the burgers are the best. They taste like a great backyard bbq burger with some good fries. Some of the deep fried stuff, like the deep fried oreos are pretty killer! Classic case of the midnight munchies! A few of us ordered mozz sticks, buffalo fingers and jalapeño poppers for delivery. They sent us honey mustard instead of the bleu cheese we asked for, but that was mostly ok because I know they gave us more chicken fingers than we had ordered so it definitely wasn't a big deal. Overall, this all satisfied the insatiable midnight "I need fried cheese in my mouth now" mood we've all experienced. Generally speaking, ok in terms of flavor profile. The fingers could've used a little more sauce to fully coat the chicken. The poppers are good but heavily fried if you're into that. The mozz sticks were everything I needed in the moment. The food tastes pretty good, but it is the dirtiest restaurant I've ever been in. Their floors have a whole layer of grease sloshed over them. No joke. The floor is like a skating rink; it's pretty disgusting. That's the only complaint I have over this place. But it's so bad, I have to give it 2 stars. The wings really aren't good. I'm speaking specifically of the wings themselves. Honestly, the sauce on them was great. But the wings are terrible because they come with some sort of light breading on them. What happens when you put sauce on breaded wings like that? They IMMEDIATELY become soggy, and the outside is like chewing on wet cardboard. Wings are supposed to come out of a fryer CRISPY, and adding sauce to them shouldn't make them soggy. The reason the breading is added to the wings is because it helps hold sauce to the wing, which is a crappy excuse. A lot of the breading on the wings falls off in the fryer. That means it becomes attached to literally everything else they cook in the fryers. The french fries were covered with it. It didn't ruin them or anything, since the fries aren't slathered with sauce, but it's worth noting. We ate all the wings, which were ridiculously expensive, but the lack of crisp from the skin due to the breading, ruined it for us. I certainly would never buy their wings again, which is funny because I said to my wife, "Look, half price wings on Sundays. Sweet!" That was before we got the wings. Looks like they've got other stuff that's hard to screw up, but the wings was the real draw for us. Disappointing. read more

I was looking for something different, (delivery would be great)...I came upon the Fat Shack on Yelp, I've lived in the north area for 4 years and didn't know they existed. I ordered and had it delivered 3 nights ago and liked it. My husband wasn't home and I wanted him to experience the good food... We had this order delivered, as well... Well, it's true, lightning doesn't strike twice...except for the fries and the mozzarella sticks, everything else was burnt. We ordered the Philly Cheesesteaks, the meat was burned, as if it had been left on the flat top for too long. (Non-edible) We also ordered the Deep-fried Oreos, (3 nights ago they were great, color was a golden brown-yummy) Not tonight...the color was a dark caramel brown. This tells me the oil in the fryer is old. (Non-edible] The last item we ordered were the Deep-fried Rice Krispy Treats...same issue here...dirty old oil. (Non-edible) We bagged the entire order up and my husband took it to Fat Shack. Where for our trouble they gave us large sandwiches instead of regulars?? When he returned the sandwiches were not burnt, that was great! But...the Oreos were freshly made in the dirty old oil . I absolutely love this place! The food is delicious and fresh. I've had takeout from here about three times. They have the best chicken tenders tossed in buffalo wing sauce I've ever had. Their fries are delicious and crispy and not overly salty. I also tried their burgers for the first time this past weekend. The burger was great but they do include a lot of onions on the burgers. If you're not a fan you'll want to request they go light on the onion or none at all. Their sandwiches look pretty amazing as well. That's next on the menu for me to sample. First time here and the place is pretty small, maybe 10-15 people can sit inside. The decor is pretty funny and unique. Like some of the previous reviews state, the floors are a little greasy or wet so watch your step but this is a fry joint so it's to be expected especially since they walk the food out to you. Ordered a Fat Chance, mozzarella sticks, and a soda. It took about 30 minutes to come out, but there were a couple orders ahead of me so that wasn't a huge deal. However, I never got my cup for my soda so that was obnoxious since I paid for it. As for the food, it was actually pretty good! Will definitely have to try some of the other sandwiches. read more

I placed an order a couple hours ago and paid through pay pal. I have called 3 times each time they said it has just left. one guy said yes I know exactly where you are at be there in a minute. now each time I'm calling sounds like a whole bunch of kids in the background playing. so on the 3rd time I call I ask to speak to manager. the kid on the phone said he was and now nobody has seen my order. I told him I already paid for it and have the print out he then tells me I need to pay for it again and they will make it. The strawberry shake was okay but small, the two sandwiches were not bad but the fried pickles were absolutely awful. I've never had worse in my life. They looked like hell and I could only force feed myself a couple before giving up. SO I guess you just have to ask yourself is a small shake, 2 mediocre sandwiches and the worse fried pickles ever worth 42$? Fat Shack needs to remove delivery service from there options. Placed an order at 1:30 and at 3:00am I am told it is canceled due to not having a delivery driver. Then told that the Delivery Driver was sent home at 2:00am. To be this out of sink on staffing is crazy to me. For the record, I dislike Yelp. I feel people need to express themselves to a manager instead of complaining on the Internet because a lot of people work very hard to make a resturant operate. Now, I did call a manager and express my discomfort, but for the first time I feel that guest/customers need to know about how poor this service was and the complete incompetence of managing staffing levels. Let's talk about awful service and communication. Ordered our dinner through Uber Eats from here. Menu said our choices came with fries. For $40 it should. Get our dinner and there's just burgers and drinks. Call the restaurant and they insist it doesn't come with fries. We literally read the description to him where it says "with a side of fries" (see photo) and he still refuses to make any sort of take care of your customer offer. After the use of some inappropriate and very unprofessional language we're hung up on. If you're going to offer services through another company maybe you should make sure your menu is right. My first exposure to this restaurant was driving by, seeing the name THE FAT SHACK all in red letters, and thinking to myself "I've gotta go there". I did my research and looked at their menu online, and got both disgusted and hungry at the same exact time. Like this place is a heart attack in sandwich form, and they don't stray away from that at all. But that's all part of the appeal. I ended up getting myself just their Fat Doobie. Oh my god this thing was so solid and heavy and delicious. I could only manage to eat half of it before deciding that my arteries couldn't handle any more. Like, how can you go wrong with french fries and chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks in a sandwich? Other than it sorta turning into a soggy mess eventually, it tasted exactly how I imagined it to be. It's cheap, the employees are very chill, and it's open pretty late. That's a combo that you can't really go wrong with. So do yourself a favor, tell your diet to bugger off for awhile, and treat yourself to some Fat Shack. Do yourself and come to this place on an empty stomach and then get something non-traditional from their menu (I.e. Skip the standard burger/fries/hot wings and get something off their sandwich selection). The sandwich combinations are pretty wild, but they are really good. I never thought a 9" sandwich that had a mixture of jalapeño poppers, chicken tenders, French fries, shredded beef, and honey-jalapeño mustard sauce would taste so crazy awesome. My kids ordered some traditional stuff (burger, mac & cheese) and they said their meals were good too. I believe this place - not sure if it was this franchise in particular - was featured on the Travel Channel, and I can see why. It's a small venue and seating is limited, so you may want to plan on take out, but if your group is small you may be able to squeeze into their limited seating. I understand that I called on a busy night and I knew the food was going to be awhile. But the man over the phone was so rude. He first questioned me if I want to basically order from there and not in a nice tone. Then I heard him huff and puff.
