It would be considered bad if it was from a grocery store prepared food counter, but from an actual BBQ place and at this price, it was inexcusably bad. The pulled pork was also very dry and not good. Not sure what's going on... hopefully it's just a fluke because I like coming here. Sweet potato fries were great, moist, flavorful. Mac n cheese was a bit bland and needed flavor or something else added. Collard greens were pretty good and flavorful and moist.

Photos litter the walls, including a few of the owner if you know who to look for, of all the hockey greats. Some real salad on display in places. A few famous sticks are enshrined out front, and there's some relics here and there that tie the whole place together. Tables are a mix of booths, high tops, low tops, and bar seating. It's got The Vibe. The brews: wide selection. I'm a cider drinker but they had something for me. Their beer selection is almost all local except for the small handful of "if we didn't, we'd have a fight break out." Served right, in nicely cleaned glass, by someone who gives a damn about pouring it right. The meat: soft, tender ribs that fall off the bone. Brisket that is juicy but just firm enough. Burgers that hit harder than Larry Zeidel. If you have a big appetite you'll be fine. Otherwise, you'll have some left over for tomorrow. The sides: none of this KD quality Mac and cheese, it's home made and loose. Everything is made in house from some old recipe in some grange cookbook and sacre de calisse it's good. The potato salad is chunky like it should be. The beans ... oh the beans... perfection. The sauces: sweet isn't too sweet, hot ain't too hot, tastes like there's some good molasses and a bit of Pepsi in there somewhere. The meats don't come sauced so you get to pick exactly how much you want or how little. The meat might stand on its own, but the sauces are a harmony in the song. The poutine: **fuck me, lord** this is some of the best poutine in the state. My partner spent a hot minute in Quebec and he gushes over it. The gravy is made from drippings, it has to be I swear. You could make a meal out of just some poutine and a bit of meat. Split three ways it's still a powerful appetizer. Smooth gravy, crisp double-set fries, fresh curds... Criss d'ostie de câlisse de tabarnak, I'm in heaven. Oh and the service is amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, on time, attentive, and genuinely kind.

It's a kinda beat-up older building in MLT, with just a bit of parking and the front door cut off the front corner of the building at an angle. You walk in to a divey bar, with old stools and a few tables. They use most of the space here for the kitchen in back. Good q takes a lot of space if you're making much of it at a time. They have big flat screens behind the bar showing the game, and they were playing some cool blues that I didn't recognize. Introducing me to good music and letting me watch college football is a great way to make me feel at home, and to add to that, they had good local kegs on tap. I ordered some delicious pulled pork and one of their house sauces for some loaded tots I made for the Hawks game this morning, and it really came through. Big shout for that habanero mac salad, too. Mac salad gets such a bum rap, but good Hawaiian and BBQ places work magic with it. More savory than sweet, for a change. Not a very big portion, but I'd probably way overdo the carbs if they let me eat as much of it as I want.

So between two places this one won. By the looks they probably have a ton of to go orders or single guys having a beer and bbq at the bar top. She's loves baked beans and they weren't her favorite here. The habanero Mac salad was very well taken by everyone at the table. The plates for 1 they have gives great a pile of meat, fries, hand made and little crispy and Mac n cheese, which was good. We had pork, brisket and ribs at the table. All of which was smoked fairly well. The brisket was good and tender. Pork was a tiny bit dry but the homemade bbq sauces made for it. And the spare ribs were cooked well, they were good for spare ribs but I generally prefer a baby back. Overall the service was stoic, he was spot on with everything but looked as if he was busy with a lot of other stuff throughout the restaurant as well. It's a solid place for bbq, so if you're a bbq fan give it a try. Def a solid lunch spot if you and a couple guys were looking for a place to stop.

They had plenty of seating and we were able to fit our group of 6 into a booth. While they only have one grill per table, when the fire is turned on, it is really high so things cook so quickly! They have a couple of different tiers of options, but my family loves galbi so we opted for the premium tier ($45). The mid tier (I believe $35) you can go serve yourself all of the meat, but the premium meats are brought out. We tried galbi, ribeye and scallops from the premium menu, which were all tasty (the galbi pieces were large and marinated well, ribeye was nice and red, and scallops while small, came in the shell). Most of the sides and meats are self service which is also nice. They have many different side dishes (including cheese corn!), different pickled veggies, garlic, lettuce, sauces, and the meats and some seafood like shrimp and squid were self serve including a nice cold meat refrigerator for the thin slices such as brisket and belly. They even have a hot bar that I didn't try with various fried foods. They also had oranges, and my favorite - a self serve soft serve ice cream station! Yum! There were also yogurt drinks at the end. It is a lovely place that I think it is mom and pop - we had a sweet lady as our server and she was nothing but smiles. Things can get busy so it took some time for our premium meats to come out but no worries as there were plenty of self serve things to eat while we were waiting. Sliced beef is in a fridge and they have a selection for sauces and seasonings for dipping. Not necessarily the highest quality of meat, but it's AYCE so you can definitely fill up and get full. In this day and age, $35 is not a bad deal if you have a good appetite.

They also almost always have great specials when you spend over $80! Must-Orders & Foodie Pro-Tip: * Special Lamb: The absolute star of the menu and a non-negotiable must-have. - i like to ask for additional spicy powder on the side and dip more since it is little blend for my liking * The Cucumber + Cold Noodle Hack: If you're a savory girl like me, order the cucumber salad to start, but save about a quarter of it (and the sauce). When you get cold noodles for dessert, dunk the leftover cucumber and tangy sauce in--it adds the perfect crunch and acidity to balance out the sweetness! Drink Note: They still serve beer, but it's a bit sad that they don't sell original/non-flavored soju anymore. Regardless, the incredible food and lively vibe make every trip 100% worth the drive.

Legend has it that tens of thousands of years ago, our ancestors lived by eating raw meat and…read moredrinking blood. One day, lightning struck a tree, causing a massive forest fire that killed many animals. Our ancestors then discovered that cooked meat tasted much better than raw meat. This is why roast meat has always been regarded as an important part of the human diet. Today I gathered with friends and chose this barbecue restaurant. It's located north of Redmond, with a prominent sign and plenty of parking. Ambiance: The decor is creative, but it feels quite contradictory. Barbecue is inherently a very "Jianghu" (lively, rough-and-tumble) kind of thing, yet the restaurant leans toward an artistic, literary style. When I used to run my own restaurant, I followed a principle: avoid anything unrelated to the core dining experience. Seeing many books on the shelves here, I understand they're trying to bridge Jianghu and artistry -- but it clearly feels out of place. That said, the place is very clean, and the stickers/decorations are festive. Service: My high rating for this restaurant is largely based on the service. After we sat down, we were given free appetizers -- braised peanuts, which tasted great. The staff training is very professional, whether it's taking orders, making recommendations, attending to us during the meal, or checking on tables and refilling water. All excellent. Taste: Jianghu-style cuisine is characterized by boldness, satisfaction, and not sweating the small details. We ordered spicy hot pot (Malatang), spicy hot pot skewers, grilled beef, lamb, chicken gizzards, oysters, and many other items. First, the Malatang and spicy skewers tasted almost identical, so it felt like eating the same thing. The grilled skewers were just average -- neither good nor bad. The oysters were very tasty. However, the shrimp in the spicy skewers were very unfresh, which was disappointing. "By the way, the prices at 'Friendship Skewers' are anything but friendly -- I think it's quite overpriced overall."

It's located at the ACE Hardware store on 5th Ave S with Furi Chinese Restaurant and Pancake Haus. As an aside, this site has hardware & garden stuff and things plus vehicle licensing, mini grocery store, Hometown Smoke N BBQ and a dessert spot for specialty cakes & cupcakes. By the time we arrived around 4pm, the brisket was sold out already. Originally, we were going to get a family style order (Cowboy Carry Out) to sample most of the proteins and sides. Glad we had more restraint and opted for one entree with quarter rack pork ribs (3), double side order of smoked mac & cheese, cornbread w/honey jalepeno butter, and added a bacon wrapped bratwurst. Also, we noticed to the left of the order counter a nice selection of beverages, deli sandwiches, and bulk spices. Bought a sarsaparilla soda. Payment is made at the front registers by the entrance. Made sure you get a hardcopy of your receipt. Shortly, thereafter The Homie was handed the goods, nicely packaged. All around efficient and pleasant customer service. Thankfully, I keep compostable utensils and napkins in the car. Soda - refreshing and a great deal at $1.99. Pork Ribs (3) - dry rub no bark, no sauce, lean, scant smoke ring, fall off bone tender, but kind of dry, not succulent. Bacon wrapped bratwurst (1) - strangely tasted like baked beans, no overt sausage or bacon flavor. There were flecks of cheese in the bratwurst. Double order of smoked mac & cheese as the selected sides - components were obviously there, but very bland. Cornbread w/honey jalepeno butter - rather dry and crumbly. Butter will be used on something else since the cornbread disintegrated in the takeout box. Perhaps would return but to only try the brisket that was sold out during this visit. PS I forgot to use the 20% off discount code via their Instagram post. Major face palm.
