This is the Small Chicken Meal. Thigh, 2 sides, roll, $15. Great lunch value.

In short Perrinville has really solid bbq! It's not the hugest place, which means fewer smokers. That means a briefer menu. But the food is good, people are super nice, and prices are great. In long I had some time to kill in the area, and saw the rates for this place being nice and high. You walk past a smoker and a bunch of propane tanks to get to the door. Much as I'd prefer to see stacks of firewood outside a BBQ spot instead of propane, it's all good. Inside, there are a few tables over there, and an order window over here, with a pop cooler next to the window. Checkered tablecloths, some hats for sale, a couple Seahawks signs, casual and laid-back. They mostly focus on ribs, pulled pork, and chicken. You won't find 10-15 different proteins here, like a bigger place farther from town might have. They do have all the usual sides, though. On the table you get rolls of paper towels, a squeeze bottle of dark sauce, and a little pail full of forks. They bring you your food after 10 minutes or so. I checked out the Small Chicken Meal--a thigh, slaw, beans, and a store-bought roll. The sides here are decent, though maybe not special. That's to be expected at almost every BBQ spot in my experience. That thigh was perfect, though--tender, still very moist, really nice sweeter flavor from the sauce. The sauce on the table is a little ketchupy for me but it hits the spot. All this and a pop was barely $20, which is a nice way to price a plate of q. So many places get crazy expensive. That's expected anymore, but finding good q at a good value really is nice. It was empty when I showed up at 4:00, but there was a constant stream of people wandering in after I sat down. So easy to see why.

Overall good! I got the small ribs meal, which came w 3ribs and 2 sides (which is set as baked beans and coleslaw but you can swap out for others) for ~$14 Honestly, finding a place that is this cheap is amazing! I did not get it but there's a pulled pork sandwich for ~$6. For the price alone it is worth trying. The meat is good but nothing outstanding. The sides were not that great though. You honestly can't beat the price! Not only for BBQ is it cheap, but in general this is cheap food. And tasty! Customer service is also great!

I'm conflicted. Do people read my reviews? Does anyone care? If I rate this place the way I really feel will it be taken over by ignorant foodies? Or do I just forego a review hoping that the place forever stays low-key and they never lose their vibe or change their recipes. Bah. Times are hard and I want places like this to thrive. Today is my birthday and I wanted barbecue. We had planned on another local establishment that I had tried before but they ran out of ribs before 5pm. So I did a random search for "barbecue near me" and Fat Pig came up. So glad it did. Their location is not fancy. It is as it should be. As we were pulling in my partner said "This looks like your kind of place." I agreed in stunned silence. Yes it is. Yes it is. We got a rack of ribs, corn, cole slaw, beans and a pulled pork sandwich to go. I wasn't paying (birthday and all) so I don't know how much we paid, but I do know that it was significantly less than the other place that had been sold out. It was, for sure, affordable considering how much food we got. My partner had the pulled pork sandwich, which was less than $7 and said it was 'outstanding.' I asked for samples of their sauces so I got to try the spicy and the regular...both incredibly good. The rack of ribs was cut up- and was...plentiful. So much food. Beans were not your typical pork-n-beans, all over sweetened...they had ground beef in them, as well as pork and were more of a texas style chili bean flavor...not candy sweet. The coleslaw, likewise, was delicious, and not sweeetened, which I've grown tired of. I have found a new *local* barbecue joint- and this has me excited. Please go there and keep the place alive and thriving. I hope they keep it up. Don't sell out Fat Pig. :) So- happy birthday to me, and THANK YOU FAT PIG!

Came here with my buddy seeking, well some BBQ. He found out about it as it's near where he lives. Not having BBQ in some time, I was ready. We strolled in on a Saturday afternoon. I got the full rack of ribs, and he got the Pulled pork BBQ meal which comes with coleslaw, roll and baked beans. It was about a 20-minute wait so which it was being made we went to pick up some pints to enjoy along with the food. We got takeout to take back to his spot. The ribs were solid. Had extra sauce at my request. Tender and meaty but lacked a bit on the smoky smell and flavor. Good overall. The Pulled pork meal was tender and sauced nicely as well. I'd say it's a decent price at $27 for the rack and $15 for his meal. I'd return here for sure as solid BBQ places aren't in abundance that I've seen so far, so thumbs up on this one.

Pulled Pork Sandwich (Double Meat)

My boyfriend and I came in two days ago and LOVED the pulled pork sandwich and full rack of ribs we got, if I could give this place more than five stars I would. The man running the shop was so kind and he had our order ready right when we walked in! Pretty quiet inside the shop but they deserve more business!!

Rack of ribs, coleslaw, baked beans and cornbread.

A friend recommended Fat Pig. I had never heard of it. Im glad i went. They have the best ribs, beans and cornbread! Everything had incredible flavor. The ribs were seasoned and smoked perfectly. I think they out sweet corn in the huge piece of cornbread which is a really nice touch. The baked beans and bacon had really good seasoning too. I was really blown away by it all. I highly recommend the Fat Pig!

Things that this restaurant does well: the ribs, specifically the char on the ribs. I think they excel in chicken/ribs as they are strongest menu items. Portion wise, they are good, and the flavor was well executed. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely meets your barbecue craving. This restaurant can work on a more friendly and clean bathroom, more availability of sauces to share in between tables, and a bit more attention to Customer Service. Nothing was incredibly wrong, but nothing was incredibly impressive.

Large rib plate.

So tender and lightly breaded. At $22 with two generous sides, it's a great meal. My son got the pulled chicken sandwich and loved that as well. Anything on the menu at Brileys is great, Bruce!!!

This is a great space for gathering with family and friends. It's not a huge restaurant, but it has an open floor plan and the east facing outside area has a wonderful view. A great place to sit during the summer on a hot day. The service was also great. Really nice and profressional staff who treated me kindly when I was there. Ok, so what's not so great is the food unfortunatley. The only 2 items that I loved were the Briley's rice and the seasonal zuchinni side dish. I think the best deal here is the Dorfman Platter. You get to pick 2 meats and 2 sides. I had the brisket and ribs with hush puppies and zuchinni. It was alot of food that could easily be split between 2-3 people. Unfortunatly, it was not very good. The hush puppies here are unique. They add pieces of jalapeno so they are sweet and spicy. They were also very dry inside. The ribs weren't memorable, but the brisket was. It looks like Briley's has a brisket problem. My brisket was plentiful, but it was sliced incredibly thin and was very dry. It also lacked the signature smokey flavor and I was not able to see a smoke ring. I was shocked at how bad it was that I looked at other pictures, hoping that I just had a bad batch, but nope. This is how brisket is done here. I don't know who the pit master is, but it's sad to see how this cut of meat is continusly wronged. You can get way better brisket from Met Market on Sundays. The bbq sauces are also terrible. The 3 sauces on the table are not really sauce, but more like a mop sauce. I was shocked at how thin and watery each one was. I squirted it on to my meat and watched it fall off. It did not coat the meat at all. All in all, I haven't been back and wont be, as this stuff ain't cheap, and I'm not going to spend my money on bad bbq. I really don't understand all the 5 star reviews. Nice spot and people, but this is a bbq miss for me.

Their beer selection is almost all local except for the small handful of "if we didn't, we'd have a fight break out." Served right, in nicely cleaned glass, by someone who gives a damn about pouring it right. The meat: soft, tender ribs that fall off the bone. Brisket that is juicy but just firm enough. Burgers that hit harder than Larry Zeidel. If you have a big appetite you'll be fine. Otherwise, you'll have some left over for tomorrow. The sides: none of this KD quality Mac and cheese, it's home made and loose. Everything is made in house from some old recipe in some grange cookbook and sacre de calisse it's good. The potato salad is chunky like it should be. The beans ... oh the beans... perfection. The sauces: sweet isn't too sweet, hot ain't too hot, tastes like there's some good molasses and a bit of Pepsi in there somewhere. The meats don't come sauced so you get to pick exactly how much you want or how little. The meat might stand on its own, but the sauces are a harmony in the song. The poutine: **fuck me, lord** this is some of the best poutine in the state. My partner spent a hot minute in Quebec and he gushes over it. The gravy is made from drippings, it has to be I swear. You could make a meal out of just some poutine and a bit of meat. Split three ways it's still a powerful appetizer. Smooth gravy, crisp double-set fries, fresh curds... It's a kinda beat-up older building in MLT, with just a bit of parking and the front door cut off the front corner of the building at an angle. You walk in to a divey bar, with old stools and a few tables. They use most of the space here for the kitchen in back. Good q takes a lot of space if you're making much of it at a time. They have big flat screens behind the bar showing the game, and they were playing some cool blues that I didn't recognize. Introducing me to good music and letting me watch college football is a great way to make me feel at home, and to add to that, they had good local kegs on tap. I ordered some delicious pulled pork and one of their house sauces for some loaded tots I made for the Hawks game this morning, and it really came through. Big shout for that habanero mac salad, too. Mac salad gets such a bum rap, but good Hawaiian and BBQ places work magic with it. More savory than sweet, for a change. All of which was smoked fairly well. The brisket was good and tender. Pork was a tiny bit dry but the homemade bbq sauces made for it. And the spare ribs were cooked well, they were good for spare ribs but I generally prefer a baby back. Overall the service was stoic, he was spot on with everything but looked as if he was busy with a lot of other stuff throughout the restaurant as well. As an aside, this site has hardware & garden stuff and things plus vehicle licensing, mini grocery store, Hometown Smoke N BBQ and a dessert spot for specialty cakes & cupcakes. By the time we arrived around 4pm, the brisket was sold out already. Originally, we were going to get a family style order (Cowboy Carry Out) to sample most of the proteins and sides. Glad we had more restraint and opted for one entree with quarter rack pork ribs (3), double side order of smoked mac & cheese, cornbread w/honey jalepeno butter, and added a bacon wrapped bratwurst. Also, we noticed to the left of the order counter a nice selection of beverages, deli sandwiches, and bulk spices. Bought a sarsaparilla soda. Payment is made at the front registers by the entrance. Made sure you get a hardcopy of your receipt. Shortly, thereafter The Homie was handed the goods, nicely packaged. All around efficient and pleasant customer service. Thankfully, I keep compostable utensils and napkins in the car. Soda - refreshing and a great deal at $1.99. Pork Ribs (3) - dry rub no bark, no sauce, lean, scant smoke ring, fall off bone tender, but kind of dry, not succulent. Bacon wrapped bratwurst (1) - strangely tasted like baked beans, no overt sausage or bacon flavor. There were flecks of cheese in the bratwurst. Double order of smoked mac & cheese as the selected sides - components were obviously there, but very bland. Cornbread w/honey jalepeno butter - rather dry and crumbly. Butter will be used on something else since the cornbread disintegrated in the takeout box. Perhaps would return but to only try the brisket that was sold out during this visit. We usually give a new establishment a few years before we try it to let the crowds die down a bit. Anywhos, it was a Friday evening and we decided to give it a try since we were around at 530pm. The decor is nice and the space is quite large however that doesn't mean they'll seat every table bc they probably don't have enough servers on hand for that. We tend to gravitate towards ACYE KBBQ, but opted to try this one. The steamed egg was delicious! Can pass on the soybean stew. We ordered a combo meat set which came with beef belly and 2 pork shoulder slices to grill. The beef and pork bulgogi came out already cooked. You have the option to grill yourself or have the server do it. The spam and egg kimbap was plain and basic so skip that. The side dishes were pretty good although the napa kimchi was a little ripe. The dipping sauce was yummy. The service got pretty slow and we had to ask for the same thing multiple times (utensils, beer). Overall, this place is decent.
