You have to go in knowing this is not a traditional Mexican food place, and you're going to get a tasty fusion of Asian inspired flavors with your burrito or bowl. FAT indeed. The portions here are huge! I got a small Sweet Chilli Thai Chicken (available in baked or fried chicken) in a bowl and my bf got a big Baked Chicken in a bowl. Service was prompt, but nothing special. Food & taste was good, however I wished the chicken was tender and marinated because the only difference between my sweet chilli Thai and the baked chicken was the sauce. The baked chicken itself was quite bland. For base you were able to choose between rice, noodle (strange but it was a nice touch), and beans or all of the above. Toppings included lettuce, cheddar, cilantro, green onion, jalapeño, green pepper, pico, salsa, tortilla chips (for extra crunch and surprisingly goes really well) and guacamole (yes, free guac is included!) Sauce options were sour cream, hot sauce, and burrito sauce (get all 3 for some delicious burrito/bowl!!). Can't wait to come back here again! read more

Wasn't quite sure what my bud and I was doing but I know we were hungry. We were making our way to a place and then I remembered that Fat Bastard opened up a while ago off Beaver Creek Suddenly, wanting a mid-east wrap became wanting a Mex-Wrap or a Burrito. Dropped in and picked up a couple of items. I opted for the small jerk chicken one and my bud went large with this lime chicken thing. There was one size even larger. If you saw what the small looked like and then the large one, you would think the next size up would be called "Hell No!" The Burritos are well stuffed and then grilled before enjoying and ask for the heat...it's better that way. What is a burrito without heat? A wrap from Pita Pit....LOL! The establishment was a bit weird when we stepped in. No greetings from the guy, just a stare. I thought for a moment, we walked into a place that was closing - or Toppings Pizza and Burger (you have to read my review on them to understand my comment). Once we got past the unexpected unpleasantness, we got to order the food. The place was a bit messy - maybe because it was end of day and final clean up wasn't happening yet. Dunno. I guess we're here to get food and not enjoy the scenery. I ended up taking a series of pictures and posted about 4 of them. My napkin pictures shows up as their company photo. If you have an iphone, it shows that my photo was put up by the business. If you use any other device, it drops to other pictures and eventually shows that it was my picture. Not sure what is going on. Had a conversation with the owner and it's not his fault but I'm a little miffed at this bug in the system. Oh well. A repeat place? Yes. 3.5? I'm confused about this rating...I'm not a huge fan of the name of this place but was with friends and they really wanted to try it so I said why not. The store is clean with minimal seating. Went for a weekday lunch and got a spot with no problem. I wanted to get something light in calories...is that even possible for a burrito place? Looked at the quesadilla and it seemed to be a good option. You get to choose your toppings and type of quesadilla or burrito - so I like the customizability of the menu. Opted for a Veggie quesadilla...but they made me a burrito instead? I was too hungry and the line was too long then for me to go back and say my order was wrong. I also ended up paying more than the cost of a burrito but whatever. The burrito was huuuuuge, and quite tasty - hence why I feel the rating is close to a 4. I really liked the flavours and it is quite filling. I've never had a burrito like this. In my opinion it's comparable to chipotle and possibly even better. I'll probably go back at some point. A date of mine recommended this place to try their burrito where you can opt to get fried chicken and crispy noodles in it! Alas, I did not end up ordering this as I have trouble eating in front of people I don't know well. I vow to return to get exactly what he recommend though! I did end up ordering something small to snack on because otherwise, I would have ended up staring at my date for the next two hours while he ate a burrito. That would have been truly awkward for both of us and likely even the other people including other customers and the workers of the restaurant! [Chips & Guac] $4.99 - I mean, this is exactly what it sounds like! The only plus was that they ended up giving me chips, guac AND salsa :O Upon noticing this, I pointed out to my date that I think they may have accidentally given me the salsa as well since I noticed that you could have purchased just Chips & Salsa at $3.99. My date assured me that they knew what they were doing when they handed me both containers so I happily munched on. The guac was really delicious, as was the salsa. They were both extremely flavorful and unique in their own regards! The chips had a lot of seasoning as well so I highly recommend ordering this if you like eating chips with salsa + guac normally! The staff were really nice as well and personable. At one point, one of the cooks cheered really loudly for something and I shot him a whimsical look. He responded by apologizing because he thought perhaps he was too loud but honestly, if you're that excited about something, you should definitely let the whole world know! I can never say no to a FULLY LOADED burrito! Their burritos are actually HUGE! They have 18 different toppings to choose from and you can stuff your burrito with as many toppings as you want. They have interesting toppings too like noodles and crunchy nacho chips. Even guacamole is free with no extra cost. This burrito is so filling too! I ordered the Classic Ground Beef Burrito and loaded it with toppings of beans, rice, lettuce, cheese, pico de gallo, crunchies, guacamole, & sour cream. This place is great! Everything is fresh and made right in front of you the way you like it. What I like about this place is that they have the organic tofu for vegetarians as well as vegans. There is also the option of just a cheese burrito or a sautéed vegetables burrito. I have tried both and they are both amazing. The burrito comes in three different sizes: lil, big, and huge. The quesadillas are good as well for vegetarians there's only the cheese option. In the burritos as means you can put rice, beans, and/or noodles. The hot sauce is really spicy but so good! I was in town on business, staying at a nearby hotel. I was craving good, simple Mexican food. I sought this place out. Wasn't interest in any of the busy loud chatty restaurants that are across the parking lot. Fat Bastard did the trick! Quiet when I walked in at 7pm, no customers and only 2 employees present were prepping fresh lettuce and other ingredients. I like seeing that! I ordered the 3 tequila lime chicken tacos. I was handed a box stuffed with deliciousness! Needed a fork to eat some of the chicken before I could even attempt to pick up a taco. Love the little plastic taco rack in the box so they stand up too!! (Restaurants don't do that in the US. Nice touch!). Wish I had remembered to ask to guac. Oh well next time. Place was super clean. The staff are really friendly, the food is consistent with other locations BUT the portions are very generous here and the staff tries to accommodate you as best they can. Fat bastard burrito was , in my opinion a relatively pleasant experience given the circumstances we are currently living in. The food was better then I expected and the the service was borderline excellent. The main course portions were fair and worth the money once again in my opinion. I gave a very strong three stars with the loss of a forth due to two things that offended me personally. As in made me angry. First. The shrimp bowl was excellent but they were really skimpy on the shrimp. For ten bucks I want to eat that delicious salad with more then 8 fucking prices of shrimp. Big it up. Second. FOOD: I always love a hella yummy burrito and fat Bastard was so-so. We got the deep fried fish with all the toppings and I wasn't particularly impressed. Fried fish was a little over battered. They offer free guacamole and they crunch up nachos in the burritos which is nice. AMBIENCE: huge lineup at lunch time but nothing out of the ordinary for a burrito place. SERVICE: for fast food, no complaints. PRICE: surprisingly expensive. They don't differentiate between vegetarian burritos which means they charge the same (high amount) for not so protein filled burritos. Not really worth. This place is good. It tastes great and the menu is fun. Staff are great. I ate here twice and my only complaint was the first day my burrito was cold in the middle. There wasn't a crowd or anything...I think the guy that cooled it just didn't leave it on the grill long enough? Regardless, the precise is fair and I still enjoyed my meal...and I came back the following day and brought friends. That was the curry chicken. The following day I ordered the Pad Thai chicken burrito. It was way better only because it was cooked well and probably because it was a different t staff? Regardless...I wasn't disappointed! Came here again and got a Sweet Potato (yam) burrito bow. It was delicious!! Though I'd say portions are not that big compared to the actual burrito (comparing both Lil's). But maybe it's just a visual thing? Either way, it's delicious. The sweet potato was sliced (a bit like tempura yam without the coating). I feel like it is easier to eat a burrito evenly, as the bowl's ingredients were kind of spread out everywhere, and you have to find the different buried components. Ones I've tried: Buffalo chicken: I tasted no buffalo sauce at all, just a whole lot of bland baked chicken (not getting that again) Pulled pork: Tasted kind of dry... needs more sauce Steak: Good in a bowl, but super dry in a burrito. Tofu: Delicious! And I'm not even vegetarian/vegan. I think this is my current fave. Ground beef: Tastes like the beef you'd get in a lasagna or meatballs. It throws me off because you've got your Mexican burrito, but then this Italian beef... sort of a weird dynamic, even though they promote fusion. Anyways, the portions are huge and I get a little burrito every time: No need for anything larger. The level of spiciness always varies... I used to come here because they were good, but they started to get cheap and charging for every little thing like sauce. I can't get the regular sauce they offer because it is egg based, without any other options, I have to get the special sauces, but they suddenly started charging me $1 for it. $1 for a small line of tequila lime sauce? Are you kidding me? I just ordered 2 huge size burritos and each one gets charged $1 because they gave me no other options. This is the last time I come here. Lost a regular weekly customer.
