Today I was in the mood for Mexican food. Of course Mexico Lindo came to mind, since it was a consistent place to order home delivery during the lockdown. They're known for their Mexican Street Tacos, of which you get 5 per order! It comes with Salsa & Limes. They have 4 different types of Tacos. Tacos de Birria (Braised Beef | Cheese | Cilantro Onions| Consomme). Tacos al Pastor (Marinated Pork | Cilantro | Onions | Pineapple). Tacos de Carne Asada (Marinated Steak | Cilantro | Onions). Tacos de Cochinita Pibil (Achiote Pulled Pork | Pickled Habanero). This order at Mexico Lindo was going to be different for a change. Something other than tacos and it was good as ever. The staff were personable and polite. The order process was simple and straightforward - Chicken Chimichanga and some Enchiladas. Chimichanga consisted of a deep fried Burrito, stuffed with Cheese & your choice of Protein (mine was chicken). Paired with Salsa & Sour Cream with Rice, Beans and Salad. All Enchiladas come with Rice, Beans and Salad. You get 2 corn tortillas with your choice of protein (I got Pork* & Chicken ones) & salsa, it's topped with Cheese & Sour Cream. Sauce choices are Green Tomatillo*, Mild Ranchero*, Spicy Diablo and Mole Poblano. It's good to see them last all through lockdown and thrive again.
To be fair, I've given 3 stars instead of 2 because I had the food delivered. Which may have taken away from the taste a little bit. The food was packaged perfectly, and arrived in 1 piece, and it did look like the pics I saw online. I was expecting it to be packed with flavor, however everything was very bland even with the sauces that came with them. While the meat was very tender, it didn't seem to have any flavor or spices. I ordered: 1. Chips and Salsa 2. Tacos de Birria 3. Tacos de Carne Asada 4. Birria Quiles 1. The chips were not salted and bland, the salsa tasted like watered down tomato sauce. It had no substance, no cilantro, and was just like water. 2&3. I ate 1 of each type of taco as is, and with the sauces. Then added some 'slap ya momma' Cajun spice to the meat on a couple others and ate the meat only. No flavor and lots of fat. 4. This would probably be better is eaten at the location, because the chips are soaked in a sauce of choice which made them soggy and a pile of clumped together mush by the time they arrived. The sour cream was dry and in a clump as if it were frozen. The braised beef and avocado topping were edible and all I could eat. $100 wasted, but mostly I'm disappointed that the food didn't taste as good as it looked. The tortilla's were dry and flavorless.
I rate this place 5 stars. Ive lived 5 minutes away from here my whole life and I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner. Wednesday is buy one get one 50% off They also have 10% off for cash which is combinable with the Wednesday offer. I Love their chimichangas and birria taco. Will definitely be back. Such a good portion of food for a super great price. Service was also so nice and you can tell this place is authentic. This place has one table with 4 chairs for dine in if you want to eat in but it's more of a take out spot which is fine by me.
Super friendly service. We ordered the Birria tacos. You get five of them in the order. Size wise they seemed a bit small. This was also my first time trying them so I don't really have a reference point to compare them to. However, the meat was very tender and the flavours worked well together. They were very yummy. I will return. I've enjoyed everything I've tried off the menu.
I'm not sure if there used to be dine-in available, but currently it's a takeout only restaurant. They were quite busy with takeout and delivery food app orders when we arrived. We ordered tacos de birria, a horchata, three tacos (one chicken and two steak), and a Diet Coke. There's a choice of pulled pork, chorizo, ground beef, chicken, or vegetable fillings for the tacos. Also, for an extra $3, there's steak, shrimp, or fish as well. To be clear, you cannot mix and match protein fillings for the extra $3. It has to be one type of protein for all three tacos. We were told that it'd be about fifteen minutes and that we could pay when the food was ready. We wandered around the plaza for a while before checking to see if our food was ready. When we got home, we were disappointed to find that instead of getting one chicken and two steak tacos, we got two chicken and one steak. We found that the chicken was on the dry side and the steak cooked a bit too long. We doused the tacos in salsa verde. The birria tacos were really filling, and even though there was a lot of cilantro, which I'm not a fan of, the flavour wasn't overpowering. The horchata didn't taste like the ones I've had in LA, and that was a bit sad. We were too stuffed to even attempt eating any of the rice, beans, or salad. That will have to be for another day.
Did a takeout order for their birria tacos and shrimp tacos. Everything was packaged really well, and I didn't realize that they'd send a side salad, beans, and rice with our order. The shrimp tacos were pretty good, the guac was fresh, and I actually really enjoyed the side dishes. My partner had the birria and he enjoyed it but said he likes the birria from other local spots (sorry, but Mexitaco) better. I'll still be back!
In the quaintest plaza you'll ever find- but a gem nonetheless. Definitely worth the stop. I found this cuz I was craving tacos and this place was highly rated. RIGHTFULLY SO. I walked in and starting chatting with the owner right away. They really went above and beyond! The al pastor was just okay, though im not the biggest pork fan. The birria tacos were so good and the consumé was even better. Even better than this is the PRICE! $16 for 5 tacos is better than you can get anywhere, for authentic tacos too.
Needed to find a quick takeout place as it was getting late and we decided to come here. This place is a neighbourhood gem, has been around for at least 10-15 years, give it take. Anyhow, we got here and we had to decide on where to go grab food. And we were sold on the menu. We placed our order and literally, less than 15 mins our food was ready. We brought our food home and it was still quite warm. We went with a chorizo enchilada meal and chicken quesadilla. The flavours were amazing!!! And there's a lot of food! You can see the pictures. This place is a great takeout place. And yeah we are coming back.
We got a chimichanga with chorizo and the Tabasco combo ( (a beef burrito with spicy red sauce and a chicken enchilada with green tomatillo). Both comes with a side of salad, rice and refried beans My favourite was the chimichanga and I would definitely get it again! Crispy and flavourful. It was good even without the sour cream and salsas. The Tabasco was good but because it was covered in cheese and sauces, there wasn't really a distinguishing difference between the chicken enchilada and beef burrito. It could also use more of a kick to it. For sides, I liked the refried beans and salad. However the rice didn't have much flavour but paired nicely with the refried beans and salsas. Overall, the meal was satisfying, they give large portions (look at the sides!) with very affordable prices
Rating 3.5/5 Price: $20.28 tax included Pros: -freshness - surprisingly, the portion is enough to satisfy you. Though can always have more tho. -on par with tacos in Mexico -friendly service Compare to Mexico where I had tacos from 2 places, I would say this is authentic and taste a bit better. CONS: However, it is still lacking in the flavour/taste/seasoning side, such as but not limited to salt. The flavour comes from adding the salsa on your taco, or dipping into the birria. The birria l is also on the flavourless/light side as well. Maybe I just like Americanized tacos alot more? -they don't give your enough salsa. Need 2 minimum. -place is small, take out is preferred. - somewhat expensive, need to add another taco or decrease the price a bit. Overall, I will come back and try other items like the enchiladas. UPDATE: i enjoyed the flavour of the Enchiladas ($14.95 before tax) more. The Horchata was ok. for $5 (before tax), they give you alot.
They added some new menu items, which did not disappoint. 1) birria tacos - meat was so tender and tasty. So good, I had it twice this week! 2) tacos al pastor- plenty of filling and the green sauce they give on the side has a nice spice. We also had it twice this week. Will keep coming back again and again for these :) Keep in mind that the birria tacos take longer to make, so be prepared to wait at least 20+ minutes . But they're worth the wait!
Restaurant claims its HALAL. They state all their meat is halal including the birria. They claim that they get their Halal meats from Costco. Though they do also cook and serve Pork. They state they don't cook one meat in the same pan after preciously cooking pork in it But I don't know to which extent they ensure there is no intermingling of the meats or fats or residue, so use your discretion or ask them to prepare your dishes with freshly washed pans and cooking utensils and spoons etc. I had the birria. For about $17 I got 5 soft tacos. One was enough to fill my tum-tum to be honest. So you can totally share this order with someone else. The birria was pretty fly (tasty). I also had the tres leches cake slice for $6. It was quite big. Could be shared between 2-3 people. There is a lot of variety in the menu with authentic cooking from a Mexican family. I look forward to returning. I recommend this restaurant.
I have driven by this plaza several times, yet I never noticed this small Mexican restaurant until a friend suggested it. There are only a handful of tables and I noticed they do a lot of take-out orders. The menus are on chalkboards so it is very easy to read. We ordered at the cash register, and then found a seat. We were given complimentary tortilla chips and homemade salsa, which was a nice start. We ordered two of the Mexican Combos, which consists of one beef chimichanga, one chicken enchilada, rice, salad and beans. The food was very authentic and fresh. I thought the beef would have been chunks rather than ground beef though. My bad for not asking. The real star of the meal for me was the horchata. I have not had once since our vacation in Mexico. The drink was refreshing, delicious, and very creamy, with the right balance of rice, almonds, various milks and cinnamon. It is very filling though! I would definitely order it again. I was beyond full, but being a dessert lover, I had to try the caramel flan. I should have taken it to go, but it looked so delicious. Mexico Lindo's version is quite different. The flan is very firm, not jiggly wiggly, and big on flavor! My husband had only one bite, which is just as well. I managed to finish it all by myself. Looking for some good Mexican food with no fuss. Something quick and easy but yummy. Great service too. Mexico Lindo express is a neighbourhood staple. If you know you know. First time for me dining in and the plating is so cute!! I was really impressed. You need to come and try if you are in the area. You won't be disappointed. I'm not even a huge fan for this cuisine BUT this place has made me like it more! I keep coming back for their food especially their Birria Tacos! Good prices and deals on some days during the week so it's worth it! Highly recommend read more

Man, what a hidden gem! Worth the drive, if you don't live close by, for the BEST birria tacos in the GTA. I've also tried Comal y Canela, and I love these ones even more. They even have a special on Wednesdays and Fridays: buy one set of tacos and get the second 50% off. Bring cash as you get an extra 5% off! Food: Birria Tacos - 5/5 - I never give anything this rating. I don't know if I was just really hungry, but these were the best tacos I've had in the GTA. Truly delicious and the birria sauce just hits the spot. Carne Tacos - 3.8/5 - Still also really good and authentic, but compared to the Birria, probably wouldn't get this again and just stick to the Birria. Rice and beans - 4/5 - Tasty and authentic; it is what it is! Service: 5/5 - The friendliest, cultural staff, with a smile on their face and happy to serve. Ambiance - 5/5 - Reminded me of Mexico City... brought me back in time, really hit a sense of Nostalgia from one of my favourite places in the world. An unassuming little spot in a strip mall known for some great food, and this Mexician restaurant is right at home with its neighbors. We had the chorizo burrito, pulled pork chimichanga, and a horacha to wash it all down. The burrito came wrapped simply but was toasted to perfection and carried the perfect balance of meat, rice, beans and veggies. It was absolutely delicious and we wolfed it down even before the second dish showed up. I bit into the pulled pork chimichanga and wondered what was so impossibly creamy..... and I turned out to be the melt in the mouth pulled pork. So delicious. Excellent service and friendly staff. They found it amusing that I was so happy to get my goblet of horchata and promptly got us everything we needed to enjoy our meal. A lovely neighbourhood gem. read more
TLDR: Unassuming joint that's surprisingly flavourful!! Will definitely visit again for the fresh flavours, friendly staff, and affordable food. Let me start off with saying that my knowledge of Mexican food is Fat Bastards Burritos and Taco Bell, so it's not the most all-encompassing! Price (4/5): To start off, the value is amazing! For less than $15 I got a pulled-pork enchilada, and a side of rice, beans, and salad. Food (4/5): I got my pulled-pork enchilada with the green, which is medium spicy, and it had a nice, fresh zing and a kick to it (though not what I would consider very spicy). The rice, salad, and beans side was also very yummy. The rice was lightly seasoned with a good texture, the salad was obviously very fresh, with a tart salad dressing, and the beans were hearty (though more like bean paste). All together, it was a dynamic combo with different flavours highlighted with each bite! From the savoury to the fresh, and also the incredibly soft pulled-pork, it was quite an experience :) read more
Burritos vs Chimichanga vs Enchiladas To make it short and simple, great flavorful food at reasonable prices and portions. You will see and taste the difference. No corners are cut when it comes to take-out packaging. The food is neatly sorted out even after a 15-minute drive, everything was still intact and good to eat. I normally go for the Mexican Combo - chicken chimichanga - chicken enchiladas - rice - refried beans - salad - sauces on the side Es bueno. I am pleased that whole chicken chunks are stuffed instead of shredded or minced meat. Recently tried their Tres leches cake, which the staff explained is kind of like a Mexican cheesecake. Despite the size, it can feed 2 or three people comfortably. Rich taste, but heavy. Overall have been and still am pleased with Mexico Lindo, whether it's in Scarborough or Durham. Have to try the burrito on the next visit. Would recommend and would go again. read more
This place has been bookmarked for awhile and I finally had the chance to try out this local restaurant located in Scarborough. This is a takeout and dine in restaurant - very casual. After ordering at the counter, they offer complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was so thin and watered down - no flavour whatsoever. I would have rather opted to not have it at all. I ordered the Chorizo Quesadilla which comes with beans, rice and salad. There are two sauces on dish but both were bland and lacking any taste. My sister ordered the Chicken Burrito which comes with the same sides, again it was bland and quite disappointing. I'm flabbergasted as to how this place has 4/5 stars when there are other places that taste so much better. Maybe it was an off day but this is not my first time having Mexican food. Sure the price is on point and portion is decent but quality and taste needs improvement. I'm sorry but I will not be returning. read more

OVERALL: 5/5 SERVICE: 5/5 FOOD: 5/5 this was incredible!! my first time having mexican food not from a franchise. the portions were huuuge lol, i could probably order one meal for two people. & it tastes wonderful. i was worried everything would be too salty, but it wasn't! yay! at this time (covid-19), they are offering takeout or delivery. i placed my order through ubereats. CHIMICHANGA: this was my favourite thing i ordered from them. fried to perfection. i ordered it vegetarian, and it had corn, peppers, zucchini, i don't remember the rest lol. but wow! & it comes with three sauces, i loved it paired with sour cream QUESADILLA: a bit on the salty side, but that is as expected with the cheese haha. again, ordered it as a veggie, i think same toppings as the chimichanga SIDES (BEANS, SALAD, RICE): each order came with a all three sides! my favourite side was definitely the salad. it was soooo good haha CHURROS: oh these were fried to perfection, coated evenly, and the sauces were great!! great sweet to finish off the meal read more

Close to home and family run mexican restaurant that's serving the classics, empanadas, taquitos, chinichangas and more. The place isn't fancy but the food is definitely pure comfort. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly I've had their chalice of Horchata a refreshing almond based cinnamon, nutmeg drink that's my go to. Passing by this plaza so many times and finally decided to dropped by. I heard about this authentic Mexican food from my friends. Oh yes! The food is amazing, the serving is huge that u can't finish the combo chicken Ensenada and beef chimichanga with rice, beans and salad. I loved the homemade drinks. The guacamole is for life. I was getting Chris Jerk which so happened to be in the same plaza as Mexicano Lindo. I've heard about this place before and decided to grab something quick from here too! I ordered tacos and churros. The taco meal came with 3 tacos and a side of salad, beans and rice ($12.95). You also get to choose between flour or corn tortillas! When you order the churros it comes with 3 of them plus a chocolate, strawberry and caramel sauce on the side ($6.95)! The tacos were definitely very filling but a little bit dry ): I loved the churros though. They were a great size and loved the fact that it came with the different sauces on the side. read more

Mexico Lindo is run by a family that is actually from Mexico: son takes the orders (he's a little slow), sweet daughter is at the register and mama runs the kitchen. Everything is cooked up fresh so there's a bit of a wait; the regulars know this so they call in their orders ahead of time. Wouldn't recommend eating in when it's cold because the dining room is drafty, best to stand next to their rotating heater (see pic) while you wait for your take out order. Tried one each of all the tacos with everything on it. There was ground beef, chicken, chorizo, shrimp, fish and steak (they charge extra for the last three); my favorites were definitely the shrimp and the fish. Orders come with complimentary tortilla chips made fresh in house delish! If you are lucky enough to come on a day they make their caramel flan, grab it!!! The flan is dense, rich and utterly sinful. Definitely coming back to try their mole sauce, guacamole, calamari, nopales (cactus), pozole sizzling fajitas, deep fried ice cream and sopapillas. Still on the hunt though for some authentic carne asada, carnitas, lengua (tongue), cabeza (head) and some home made tamales. If you know of any places hit me up! This place is a really small and cozy Mexican restaurant. Although, it may look like a take out place, you can definitely dine in as well. The place was fairly busy as we sat down to have dinner. There was only one server so it took some time to order and be served. We ordered the fish tacos and the chorizo enchiladas suiza. We also ordered a drink, a horchata, which was a rice pudding drink with cinnamon. It tasted like a churro but in a drink form! I really liked this and it looked really fancy in the large glass they used to serve it in. I thought the fish tacos were a bit dry with little toppings but it came with 3 sides (beans, salad and rice). The chorizo enchiladas was yummy, there was a nice kick of spice and lots of flavor! It also came with the 3 sides. It was a very filling meal and I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I would definitely recommend it - it's a nice gem in Scarborough if you are looking to satisfy your cravings for Mexican food. read more
Just checked out this place last week as my girlfriend was craving some Mexican food. We ordered fish tacos and chorizo enchiladas suiza and also a horchata to share (a rice based drink with milk, sugar and cinnamon that I actually really liked). The fish in the tacos were quite tasty, but were kind of dry. I was a bigger fan of the enchiladas suiza. And a huge fan of the horchata. Price is around $10-15/meal. Will probably return to give some of their other items a try! read more
Order Quesadillas and Enchiladas during the lockdown. The packing was perfect and the food items were neatly assembled. The dishes also looked great. The quantity is more than enough to make you feel full. However, my only gripe is that the dishes are no way close to authentic Mexican. It feels too "assembled" and the ingredients do not blend well. It's a similar feeling of a burger that has been put together with onion, tomatoes and patty and doesn't taste as good as a well made burger. read more
If your looking for good authentic Mexican food and your in Scarborough you gotta to to Mexico lindo. It's my go to place for Mexican I can finally say I found a legit place in my area to get Mexican food. I have been here many times and not one bad experience at all. If you want to try a little bit of everything I recommend the Mexican combo it comes with chimichanga, enchiladas. I usually get the tacos each order comes with three and we can choose between beef, chicken, chorizo, vegetable and pull pork, you can mix and match. You can also choose hard or soft taco with corn or flour tacos. Everything comes with rice, beans and salad. Very good value. There not much tables so you might need to take out. Very friendly family owned restaurant. You should give it a try! read more
This place is such a hidden gem! I saw it when I discovered Chris jerk. So for girls night we were like "why not!" I'm so glad we did! The man at the counter was so friendly! I think he was the owner perhaps? Anyways onto the food! I ordered the Acapulco combo which is a beef burrito and a chicken enchilada. It came with rice, salad and re-fried beans. I'm not a huge bean fan but these ones were amazing! They added to the dish with there own flavour. Everything was packed with flavour and looked so scrumptious to the eye. Growing up my view of Mexican food was limited by Taco Bell's interpretation of Mexican food...Hard and soft tacos, bean burritos and anything else off the value menu. Yes, I admit it I had a very deprived childhood! Mexico Lindo is located in a great foodie plaza at Birchmount and Hungtingwood. To clarify there's a bunch of other places called Mexico Lindo throughout the GTA but I'm not sure if they are all related in anyway as the set ups all look different. Its a bit of a dive but let's admit it, some of the best food are not found in super expensive places but the most ghetto dives around. Serving authentic and delicious fare from burritos, enchiladas, tacos, etc.. its a great gem of Mexican food in the part of the city where good Latin food is really hard to find. Portions are large and prices are reasonable with prices from $10-$15 per entree and burritos around $8. The place is more of a take out place but there are a few tables for a sit down meal. No need to "run for the border" to get a good Mexican meal especially if Trump gets his way building that darn wall:). A solid 4/5 from me! read more
