I also noticed two families with strollers come in comfortably, so it seems like a family-friendly space with enough room to move around. I visited with a group of five, and even though we ordered together, the staff were able to provide separate bills for each of us, which made paying very convenient. The only downside was the wait time for our food. That said, the restaurant became very busy around 2:00 p.m., and it appeared there may have been only one server covering the dining room. Staffing can be challenging for many restaurants, especially during peak hours, so it's understandable. With a few adjustments to service during busy times, the overall experience would be even better. Overall, the food was the highlight of the visit, and I would definitely return. See the food I took some photos of them..

Parking is surprisingly abundant at the back of the establishment. The lady and guy server who attended to us were both pleasant. The food preparation time was also not that long for our order of fish tacos and a holiday special. Food was scrumptious and cooked really well. I also enjoyed the soup that came with our full meal. The restaurant is larger than it seems. Downstairs where the washrooms are, there is ample room which I believe can be used for functions or whatever else. Overall, this place is a gem which I would recommend to anyone visiting downtown Newmarket.

Shrimp Cocktail was a Veracruz style appetizer & pretty good. As a main it was too one dimensional though. Chicken tinga was decent - mostly meat & very peppery. White fish veracruz style was pretty good. Memelas were really big & great. The beef was very nice. The Chorizo was great too. The plantains were a sweet contrast to the other toppings. Tres leches was pretty good - quite big, moist & rich with a lot of cream. The empanadas, tampiquena & picadas are other veracruz dishes. The shrimp cocktail and fish ceviche taste similar.

Located in downtown Newmarket, it's easily accessible by public transit (3-minute walk from a YRT Viva bus station) and there is parking right across the street. The interior is small and cozy. The "Fairweather" (contains Agua Fresca flower sour) has a pretty pinkish / light orange colour, and tastes a bit sour. "Bellwoods" (Mexican lager) has a bit of a honey aftertaste. "Halo" is good if you like pale ale. For those who want to try a bit of everything, they offer craft beer flight of 4 for $12 (good way to mix and match!). There is also Soju Bomb on the menu, for those who want something other than beer. Non-alcholic options include Shirley Temple, oat milk chai latte (cold), juices, and soft drinks. Water is free and self-serve at the back. Food-wise, they offer bar finger foods and snacks such as nachos, chips and dips (with guacamole), gyoza, spring rolls, and edamame. When we went, they had a special South Asian fusion menu (in collaboration with an Indian chef) that wasn't posted online. I believe this was limited time special menu. Selection included samosa chaat, tikki chaat, and masala which could come in a platter (with naan bread, biryani rice, and pico de gallo salad), poutine, or bowl. In both the regular and special South Asian menus, there were vegan and vegetarian options available. Great business overall - very inclusive (with gender-neutral washrooms), cozy and intimate atmosphere, and there are even board games and playing cards at the back (Codenames, UNO, regular deck of cards, etc.).
