The first time I tried Farotto's was last year during one of my friends rehearsal dinner. When we went this time we sat at the patio area which were great views all around. The service was great and our server, Blake, was timely and really knowledable on the menu. As soon as we ordered, I felt as if we received our food within minutes. My wife and I split the Large House Salad which had plenty of cheese and wasn't overly dressed in their dressing. She ordered the Tortellini and I ordered the Pasta Farotto. Farotto's has always been a mainstay for me, and I always enjoy it. A business associate was in town so I suggested we meet at Farotto's for some local STL fare. Our server, Kaelyn (sp?) was so attentive and did a great job recommending specialties to the out-of-towner. Had an OK experience at Farotto's earlier in 2022, so decided to try them again on a Friday night not long ago. Won't be back. From the moment we arrived, everyone -- the hostess, our server and even the manager-type lady -- consistently acted as if we had ruined their day/week/life. Each went of their way to remind us they close on Fridays and Saturdays in time for their whole staff to be home and showered up in time for the 10:00 news. Although I have never actually been there, I'm pretty sure Chuck E Cheese's stays open later. The food is fine...a solid B or B- depending on what you order. They have a neat patio that protects you from the weather...and a great flatscreen behind the bar to watch MNF, the Blues or the Redbirds. Just remember: Be prepared to leave at halftime or around the 5th inning, because your wine glass has to be empty by 8:58 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights -- 8:28 p.m. during the rest of the week. Farotto's is a nice little place in Rockhill that had a descent menu and great bar. We were served by Devon who had a great attitude and pleasant method of selling us a great starter appetizer of STL style of cheese sticks that were good. The Caprizzi salad was good with what was good mozzarella cheese. I had the meatball pepperdella that had a good mild but noticeable kick that paired well with the Sangiovese wine. Hostess could be a little more situationally aware and put us closer to where us seasoned folks could converse than at a two-top with only one seat. How do you miss that when your seating AARP aged people. Be obvious and treat them well so they spend mo money and drink up. Easy algorithm. Will return again with friends. After meal prepping, who wants to cook???? Lol. I had seen Farottos while traveling up and down Manchester for a few weeks now. The outside Patio is what caught my eye. We decided to stop and check it out. Instead of waiting for a table we opted to sit and eat at the bar. Full menu available. Plus we could see the TV. We were recommended the House Salad and Toasted Ravioli (they are known for them). The Salad was good. The House Dressing was an Italian but not sweet. It is more on the vinegar side. Which I like. The Toasted Ravs were good. They are more on the the mini size. But still good. We also had the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle. This dish lacked flavor. It looked amazing but it was missing salt or something. The pasta was very bland. (Salt your pasta water) I added Table salt.. I will go back and try something different. The outdoor patio and amount of people drew us here to eat as it looked like an awesome spot! However, we were pretty underwhelmed with the food. I have had a lot of chicken sandwiches in my life, but this one was one of the chewiest, toughest sandwich I have ever had! The flavor was good, but the toughness of the meat made it hard to get through. The pizza was meh. Nothing much too it. The house Parmesan fries were great- I highly recommend these if you come! I hadn't been to Farotto's in awhile and we have always loved their thin crust pizza so we decided to go in and give it another try. The service was friendly and good. We started out with toasted ravioli and chicken wings for appetizers. The toasted ravs were fantastic thin and crispy with a nice savory and tender meat mix on the inside sprinkled with parm. Comparable to any toasted ravs I have had on the Hill. The wings were thick and juicy on the inside and the house spicy sauce on them were delicious but they needed to be a bit more crispy on the outside but not bad. The pasta Foroto was fantastic, grilled chicken with pesto cream sauce, mushrooms, mozzarella, penne, baby spinach and stewed tomatoes. The pasta con broccoli was also great, it had a delicious creamy sauce, fresh, crisp cuts of broccoli (crunchy not soggy) and I used the bread to soak up the delicious sauce after I finished the pasta. The pizza was fantastic as usual, thin, crispy crust. (St.louis) style with provel cheese. I have yet to hear a legitimate reason not to love this style pizza (for the many STL style pizza haters). Been lax on posting this....mynephew, his fiancé (cute little thing!!) and I went there for a late lunch earlier this fall. Toasted ravs to start...just get em if you're there...and pizzas for me...the kids had sandwiches and everything was way over par (sort of like my golf scores)!!! Pizza was excellent....it personifies STL style.....there is some decent and very decent STL pies out there but what I like about Farottos is the bold taste...the sauce is a bit more sweet n tangy which gives the pizza a punch of flavor whereas other STL styles have more muted flavors...also this pizza leaves a little heat on your tongue which may be the pepperoni talking. Always a favorite of ours but went recently and meal was just so so. First of all, there were 5 of us and no one got pizza. Bad on us as I've never had a bad pizza here. Two out of five had risotto and it was not good. The other three meals were solid. Kind of thought they might offer a break on the check since neither were touched. Been wanting to try this place for a while. Saw mixed reviews, but really glad we went. The place is pretty cool, the restaurant is kind of chopped up with the way the building is laid out. Really impressive outdoor covered patio, but it was way too cold to dine out there on the night we went. I thought the food was above average on everything we had, nothing that knocked your socks off or made you feel like you couldn't wait to come back, but just an all around good experience.
