If you read about a great breakfast, that's old data. Apr '26: coffee, teabags, croissants, Costco quality. yam packets, no butter.

If you read about a great breakfast, that's old data...Farmhouse Paso USED to have great pastries. Their site does not mention much about breakfast. In April '26 it was coffee, teabags, croissants that in our opinion were the quality of Costco. yam packets, no butter. Several guests popped in and did not bother. Was super disappointing for us since from previous visit we expected the top quality pastries we had had. Otherwise the place has high quality finishes, good bed, sheets, planting, fire pits through out.

This was such a cute cozy stay. My room had a king bed. Bathroom was small but nice. TV was a smart tv. My room was in the edge, was able to park close to my room. Breakfast is a croissant and coffee, not much. There is afternoon wine. Overall an amazing stay and I 100% would be back

We had a lovely visit to Famhouse Motel. They have completely transformed this property in every way. The stylish details and incredibly comfortable beds were a huge hit with us. Both Bella and Ashley were great help answering all our questions. Love this place!

Stop the car. Leave the luggage. Start the vacation. That's exactly what ran through my head the moment we laid eyes on the neon beacon that is the Farmhouse Motel sign. A glowing homage to Americana, lit like it was pulled straight from a 1947 postcard and dipped in Paso cool. This isn't your average stay. It's a boutique time machine with the heart of a motor lodge and the soul of a design magazine. And it all starts on that charming little front porch. Room 22 greeted us with Mediterranean tile underfoot, a quaint café table, and bistro chairs that all but whispered, "sip something cold and people-watch like a local." Naturally, my wife claimed the chair while I stood there soaking it all in like a man realizing he's made the right choice for once. Inside, the bed hit the Goldilocks zone: not too soft, not too firm, just the right amount of "cancel our plans, I'm staying horizontal." Pillows stacked like artisan clouds. Linens crisp and bright. The headboard gave a subtle wink to Southwestern style while the accent pillow provided a riot of color that said this place had flair. And the air conditioning? Let me be clear, I'm from Texas. Cool air isn't a luxury. It's law. That unit didn't whimper. It roared. I slept like a man who didn't have to sweat his bourbon off. Now, about that bathroom. Small? Yes. Functional? Definitely. Charming? Absolutely. Terracotta tiles met thick glass and a mirror that looked like it belonged in an art gallery. Add in boutique soaps, good water pressure, and you've got a retro-modern oasis. But let's get to the crown jewel: the mini bar. Rod & Hammer's bourbon. Madre Mezcal. Real barware. I'm talking heavyweight cocktail glasses, a full golden toolkit, and a bar cart that made me consider upgrading my entire home. I haven't seen this level of minibar ambition since I wandered into a speakeasy in Fort Worth where the bartender had a PhD in garnish. Here, I was the bartender, the patron, and the legend, all in one. The property itself is soaked in charm. The lobby is part curated shop, part cozy coffee nook, and fully irresistible. It's where my wife wanted to buy a lemon-printed pillow and I pretended to know the difference between oat milk and almond. The outdoor lounge area is strung with grapevines and filled with mid-century chairs just waiting for long conversations and short pours. There's a fountain, too. It's gorgeous. It's not a pool. Don't even think about it. And the wife? She took one long look around, held her coffee like it was spun from gold, and said, "This place is romantic." That's all I needed to hear. Romantic means we'll be back. Probably often. Definitely always to Room 22. Final Take: The Farmhouse Motel is not a stopover. It's a destination. A love letter to classic California road trips, soaked in wine country charm and updated with just enough modern indulgence to make you wonder why anyone bothers with big-box hotels anymore. We won't stay anywhere else in Paso Robles. See the pictures. Book the room. Raid the minibar. And if you need me, I'll be on that porch with a bourbon in hand, living the dream.

Such a great spot if you're visiting Paso! A quaint and charming spot with top-notch hospitality. You feel like you're in your own condo. Rooms are cozy with everything you need. The porch is adorable and fire pits at night cozy. Breakfast starts at 7am in the lobby each morning. Enjoy fresh croissants, coffee, tea and fresh fruits! My family will be back.

Sheesh! I was definitely surprised with this charming and stylish little gems on our wine country travels. Farmhouse does not seem like a motel on the inside but a hip and generously stylized pad. Each room is uniquely decorated and I easily noticed every single detail. The choice of feel good color, the choice of art, the easy dim light switches, the placement of a slightly hidden handbag speaker, a trio of fresh stacked reads, full premium bar and nibbles, and gold plated mixing utensils. Even the selection of soap, creams and hair wash/conditioner, Marvin mint toothpaste and embossed toilet paper. I smiled each time I saw another new product.... Each cluster of rooms paired together with their personal fire pit for 4 and a darling waiting area right outside your door. Evening local wine in the fresh lobby area and (of course local) coffee and croissants the next morning. You're close enough to all the (quiet) Paso action. Staff was super attentive and sweet. Very kind to our fur kids. A must. Such a great find. We will be back!

This was my second trip to Paso Robles this year and the Farmhouse was a good option based on location for our getaway. I love the updates they've made to this property to make it comfortable and fun. We specifically booked our stay at the farmhouse for its location as it is walking distance to the main square/ town center. There are high end options in paso, this is not one but it served the purpose of the trip. You can walk and enjoy the various wine tasting rooms, restaurants and shops without needing your car. After a full day of enjoying the downtown area, we sat and enjoyed the music and fireplace outside of our room before heading in to watch a movie. The rooms are outfitted with Nespresso coffee makers as well as a selection of tea, and in addition, guests are invited to enjoy freshly brewed locally sourced coffee in the lobby's lounge/ dining area or patio which I took advantage of as I was checking out. While this is not a luxury experience, I did appreciate the charm and history of this property. Since the windows are not double pane and much of the structure is original with updates, you will hear road noise and the shower stalls a bit tight, but it adds to the charm. If you're looking for a place to stay, close to downtown, this is a good option.

I call this place a dream that came true!! Details, details, details! I can definitely smell the female artistic touch in every corner! We didnt know but found out there, that they have same owner as Granada in SLO! Women owned and managed business! This place is dog friendly have multiple fire pit for late night wine tasting. There is a cute shared area for breakfast which they serve fresh fruits and local baked croissant The rooms are very big and well designed. Overall i ll give them 10 out of 5

it started as a great first night of our 4-night getaway at this cute motel. after getting home from a very nice dinner in town, we were looking forward to relaxing w/a movie. after 1-1/2 hrs of trying to get their TV to work, we were very frustrated and got nowhere. front desk said to reboot but that didn't work. wasted the evening on trying to boot up their tv.

I'm almost afraid to tell anyone about the Farmhouse Paso, because I want to keep it for ourselves! Oh my gosh, we absolutely love love love it here!!! A converted roadside motel into an unpretentious, cozy, charming, beautiful, peaceful oasis! My kids have a ranch nearby but it was occupied so for the first time ever I stayed in town (and sans kids!) and we couldn't have stayed in a lovelier place. Beautiful, cozy, private, quiet (we had a room away from the road...I could see how those rooms would be noisier), bright, peaceful, airy. We could have almost just stayed here the whole weekend (if not for the amazing wineries and restaurants in Paso!). The bed and pillows were so comfortable, the bar beautifully stocked. There was a Nespresso coffee maker, but I opted to stroll through the charming garden to the lobby for freshly brewed coffee in the morning. The fridge the perfect size for drinks and leftovers from gigantic dinners. (Heated up the next morning in the lobby.) The bathroom well stocked with wonderful toiletries and cinnamon toothpaste and plenty of fresh towels. The only downside is the impossibly tiniest shower in the world. Like, I'm small and this was positively claustrophobic. I counted by tiles and eyeballed less than 32x32" with the shower door being curved cutting off even more room. I understand the design space constrictions but I think they could have done without the in room closet to make the bath size bigger, then adding a small wardrobe for clothing would have been one huge improvement. I understand there were a couple rooms with larger showers on premises but those rooms appeared closer to the street. It's okay, it's not like we spent much time in the shower! The staff were all top notch. I received a text every evening asking if there was anything we needed before they left for the night. It was tasteful and friendly and not annoying at all. Shout out to Alicia who was super friendly and amazingly helpful booking our reservation and offering recommendations. She made sure the lights were on and chilled wine and wine glasses were available for our very late night arrival. I'm just sorry we never got to meet in person as I always went to the lobby for freshly brewed coffee (with chilled oat milk available!) in the mornings. Next time Alicia!! We will definitely stay here again.

What an amazing cozy place. This place made us feel like family, great atmosphere, fire pits are such a great touch and really made our weekend. Don't miss out on this amazing place to stay.

We normally bring our travel trailer to Paso Robles and camp for the weekend, but this time, we decided to stay in a hotel for the weekend. I love small, quaint properties, and this one looked like it would fit the bill. Also, they are dog friendly and woman owned. I think this place deserves 4.5 stars and I would recommend to my friends and family. The room was lovely - we were in room 5, which was tucked in a corner near one of the many fire pits. They have really thought of all the items you might want in your room, as there is a ton of snacks and drinks for you to purchase. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped, but it is small and I imagine a larger person might find it too small. The property is fantastic - they have done an amazing job with the landscaping, fire pits and lobby/breakfast room. We also walked to dinner both nights and while it takes 10 minutes, it was a great way to end the evenings and walk off some of the naughty choices we made at our meals. The only reason I docked this place by one star is the breakfast. While super cute and well laid out, the choices are very limited and not very healthy. You have granola, yogurt, pastries, coffee and juices. The only fruit is full pieces and very limited - I think they had whole orange or bananas. Don't get me wrong, the croissants were decadent and lovely (and huge) but I was surprised there wasn't more variety.

    Classic, classy and comfortable

You can tell they have invested in the property and the staff make you feel welcome. Website is so very well done with info needed for your stay, and very pup friendly!! An easy walk to the downtown with shopping, restaurants and tasting rooms. We enjoyed the breakfast nosh and outside firepits as a social gathering place. We will tell friends and others, go!

In the evening the fireplaces are burning with hardwood every night and they offer fresh made s'mores to hotel guests. There's actually a s'mores menu. The whole environment is almost like something from a movie. They've also got a wonderful library that is tastefully appointed with many wonderful and interesting different books to read. It definitely invites you to sit down and snuggle by the fire with a good book. Such a cozy feeling! You can also select some candy for a snack. The rooms themselves are also beautiful and the bedding looks nice. Though I will say for me personally the pillows were really uncomfortable, and they had a rough spun duvet which smelled musty on the inside like it hadn't been washed in quite awhile. It looked and smelled like they were washing the sheets and the blanket but not the duvet itself. They also offer breakfast in the morning, but it's a little bit later than some other places so if you have to get an early start, then you probably won't be able to catch it. Overall I really enjoyed the stay and would say this experience is really good for the boutique traveler that is looking for a peaceful, unhurried trip.

I don't know why, but I always thought that Paso Robles or "Paso" as it's referred to, was some Podunk town that just wasn't worth stopping for. Yeah, I've passed it so many times while traveling North on "THE 101" or simply "101" as they refer to it in NorCal.... ;) (IYKYK) And all those times I've passed through, I've never once thought about pulling off the freeway to see what Paso was all about. Well, just like Julia Robert's character said in Pretty Woman while shopping on Rodeo Drive.... "Big Mistake. Big. HUGE!" Yeah, just like that sales clerk in Pretty Woman I too made a HUGE mistake! Plot Twist: I am the Good Looking Not Quite the Silver Fox Richard Gere of this story. =) ----So let's break down Paso & The Ava Hotel---- For my wife's Birthday Weekend, we made reservations at... The Ava Hotel Paso Robles. Mind you, we left mid-day from our home and by the time we arrived to Paso and pulled into the Hotel parking lot, it was already dark, but right away I could tell that the Hotel my wife booked us was Top Notch. First Impression: Sheesh, my wife sure knows how to spoil herself for HER Birthday weekend. Haha. Once parked, I had my wife and 3 girls head into the lobby out of the cold while I lugged what felt like 12 suitcases... We were only there for three nights; do you really need a suit case just for your change of shoes?? Gotta love Girls... Plot twist: The suitcase with the extra shoes.... WAS MINE!!!!!! Jk, maybe, not really, I'll never tell... =) Upon checking in, I immediately noticed how Great the staff was; Kind, Welcoming and from the looks of the place, even at night, I just knew we were going to enjoy our weekend stay here. ----The Room---- Everything you'd expect, but More! We had 2 comfy Queens, a large screen TV, a mini fridge, a clean bathroom and a Great standalone shower! Being that this hotel is Brand New, everything was clean and felt nearly unused which really made for an enjoyable stay. The next morning, my wife's actual Birthday, we got dressed, headed downstairs and celebrated with a Birthday Mimosa from their Lobby Bar. It was the perfect start to our day and to my wife's Special Day From there we headed out to explore Downtown Paso Robles which BTW, The Ava Hotel is what I would call the start of the Downtown area so it's literally the PERFECT place to stay if you, yourself come to Paso Robles one day. And to those still with us, Remember earlier when I said I made a "Big Mistake. Big. Huge!" By simply thinking that Paso Robles was some Podunk, no-nothin town that wasn't worth exiting the freeway for?? Well, I'll be the 1st to admit. I was wrong!!! Paso is one of my new favorite Central Coast towns that I can't wait to come back to. The fun little shops, the great eateries, Wine, more Wine, Did I mention there's Wine? Yeah, loads and loads of world-renowned wineries specializing in French Reds, but they've got whites too so don't stress. Not a wine person? More of a beer drinker? Paso's Got You!! Come check out Firestone Walker Brewing Co., home of the "805" beer; the regions Phone Area Code. Yeah, drink local baby!! So after enjoying breakfast at the Cowgirl Cafe (Epic Review coming soon), we went to the downtown park at let our kids play with the locals. We then hit several of the eclectic shops, including a local bookstore where my wife was like a kid in a candy store and The Spice of Life Tea Shop which I fell in love with (reviews of everywhere we went NEXT, so stay tuned) and finally made our way back to The Ava to take a break and rest our pups (our feet). Upon walking back to The Ava Hotel, I couldn't help but be in Awe of this well manicured, architecturally forward, beautifully designed building. To be honest, It looks and it feels more like a Resort and I felt so spoiled to be apart of its beginning days and I'm proud to give it the 5 stars it deserves. So... What have we learned?? Step 1: Book a room at the Ava Hotel. Step 2: Put your wife's name on the luggage tag of your suitcase for the extra shoes you really brought. Step 3: Bring one empty suitcase for all the Romantasy books your wife's gonna buy at Spare Time Books! To Paso.... To The Ava Hotel... I can't wait to come back!

They have a seating area near check in that's super cute and perfect for photos. We booked a 2 queen room. It was perfect. Loved the couch they had in the room. It fit so well with the theme of the hotel. The bathroom was so spacious 2 of us were able to get ready at the same time. The only thing we found odd was that it seemed that the bathroom door wasn't closing all the way which we were okay with it. They have afternoon drinks where guest get a complimentary drink everyday during your stay. We had plans so we didn't partake the days we were there. They also have complimentary breakfast which was really nice. It was so unique, but love that the kitchen was open to the seating area. We primarily went for an event, which the hotel offered complimentary shuttle to go and pickup. It was an amazing perk. Overall, loved the hotel. It was in a good spot near downtown. We did walk a couple of times which was nice. I would come back next time I have a Paso Robles trip.

Paso Robles Inn is a nice hotel in an historic building right on the downtown square. It's hard…read moreto beat the location in walking distance to many shops, restaurants and tasting rooms. While the building is historic it's been recently renovated and the rooms are modern and well equipped. We chose a Garden King Room. It's a good-sized room with a fireplace and a nice balcony overlooking the beautiful courtyard. The bathroom is spacious with a walk-in shower and a large double vanity. There is a Nespresso type coffee maker in the room and a tea kettle. Also, a couple bottles of drinking water per day are provided. Connected to the hotel is the wonderful Cattlemen's Bar which is beautifully renovated and has a nice local wine list and makes creative cocktails. There's also a breakfast restaurant which I went to for take-out coffee (the coffee maker in the room made weak coffee). Also, a steakhouse which we did not visit but is also recently renovated and looks nice. Service at the hotel was professional and friendly. The only downside of the hotel is that we were so busy with activities that we did not get to take full advantage of the hotel offerings.

The instructions posted on the wall do not match the buttons on the remote. We ended up doing a web search for the unit's instruction manual. That's pretty sad. These things should be more intuitive. We liked having a fridge and microwave in the room. The downside to our room was that it was on the 2nd floor and we had to carry our things up the stairs since there was no elevator. Do ask for a ground floor if you want to avoid walking up stairs. I became more mindful of these details in recent years when husband suffered from shortness of breath and had a challenging time doing stairs. The property looks nice with several different buildings surrounding a center common grassy lawn area with curved walkways & mini bridge next to their herb garden and koi pond. There are little fish and some ginormous ones in their koi pond. There is also a pool at the rear of the property. It was easy to find parking near our room. The grounds look lovely from your room or from a distance. But we noticed dog poop on the grass when we wanted to walk over to one of the sofas in the grassy area. BE CAREFUL when walking on the grassy parts. People who bring pets here are not mindful about cleaning up after their pets. This is in stark contrast to our stay at Cambria Shores Inn during the previous days (a pet friendly hotel with lots of little dogs staying and no dog poop messes in the outdoor common areas). I guess the pet owners who stay at Cambria Shores Inn are more respectful than the ones who stay here at Paso Robles Inn. Another thing about the outdoor seating is that they look great from a distance, but their uncleanliness can be seen once you walk closer. They were dirty and there was even one set of sofas that had poop on them. It's as if the hotel staff does not go around and wipe the cushions down each day (which I have seen hotel staff do at other hotels and it truly makes a difference). It looks like a nice place to sit & relax outside, but doesn't really work out that way in practice. Hotel is conveniently located near shops & restaurants. The one challenge is crossing Spring St. which is way busier than I ever imagined it to be before booking a room here. LOL The downtown area is pleasant, and you don't need to drive anywhere unless you're visiting a nearby winery.

Stumbled into Allegretto on a whim: was visiting Paso Robles and booked a wine tour. Within 30…read moreminutes of arriving, knew I had to stay. The vision behind this place is truly inspiring and heartwarming. Built from the ground up around sustainability, human energy, and the balance between light and dark: allegretto, as a name, captures it perfectly. There are structures and masterpieces from six continents woven throughout the grounds, and as you walk through, you feel transported: one moment you're in Europe, the next in India, the next rooted right here in the American West. Astrology, art, intention, and the practice of living in the present moment are threaded through every corner. The wine selection has something for every palate. The tasting room mostly outdoors and so relaxing + beautiful, and the club membership is def worth it! What truly sold me were my wine tour hosts, Rosemary and Ryan. From the moment I walked in, they were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about this place. The spa was great too! Jackie and Denise were warm and I got an amazing facial. Started the morning with yoga in the chapel, which was serene and restorative in the best possible way. The restaurant, Cello, is also excellent. Renee and Devyn were kind & welcoming. Lisa and Ava at the front desk were gracious and warm every time I crossed their path. Also found the most thoughtful, reasonably priced gifts for my family at the wine tasting room: a rare bonus. Heard they're building a second pool that will include both a family pool and an adults-only pool too. A few small notes I'm sharing in the spirit of the brand itself: not as complaints, but as easy wins for mgmt. For a resort so deeply rooted in sustainability, plastic cups at the water stations felt out of place. Switching to paper would be a simple change with a meaningful impact. Similarly, the mats in the chapel were the Amazon brand, which didn't feel aligned with the intentionality of everything else here. And one logistical thing worth noting: a portion of the grounds was blocked off for a wedding the morning after I checked in (pic included) Had planned to wander early and would have really appreciated a heads up at booking so I could plan accordingly. None of this changes my overall experience or my enthusiasm for this place. Allegretto is one of those rare destinations that if the above aligns with what you enjoy, you will be transported. Highest possible recommendation.

Allegretto is an eclectic place, to say the least. All kinds of quasi-religious(?) objects maybe…read moresomehow involving Zodiac signs? I dunno, but it gets you out of your room to explore. At least it got me out of my room... which isn't easy to do. There is a maze and a spot with animals to visit with and feed and way, way more. My favorite is a small chapel(?) with more religious artifacts. I saw it late at night and went to look, expecting it to be locked... but the door opened... and music started playing! As a hotel, it's massive, with huge grounds, all spa services, wine tasting, sitting rooms, courtyard with fire pits, pool etc. And it is immaculately clean throughout. And every staff person we encountered was professional, friendly and competent. Our room was very cozy, with king size bed, comfortable appointments, and nice bathroom with huge shower. We will absolutely stay here again the next time we are in Paso Robles.
