Street parking in front of hotel
Cyn L.

This was a nice newer hotel in Paso Robles. It was convenient to the town and we enjoyed walking and browsing nearby shops during our visit. Self-parking was available in their private lot for a fee, but we found unlimited street parking right in front of the hotel every day. We felt safe since the police department was across the street. The lobby was spacious with many modern seating areas. Breakfast and lunch could be ordered via their walk-up counter. We reserved a room with a king bed and it was pretty small. There were only 2 drawers for clothing in a tiny closet. Bathroom had a single sink and a large shower. One positive was the very comfortable mattress. A shallow salt-water pool and fitness center were located on the second floor. Bicycles were available on the ground floor too. Overall, we enjoyed staying at this hotel and would return again.

Beautiful, clean, new. This was the perfect spot for us for a long weekend of wine tasting. Our room was spacious for the two of us and I liked the aesthetic. The pool looked great but I wish that they had a hot tub. This hotel was also perfectly located near town and walking distance to all the restaurants. Perfect stay.

4 stars for location, 3.5 stars for the actual hotel Well appointed newish hotel very close to the town square. Currently best overall choice unless you're choosing a VRBO. Rooms themselves are on the small side but you're probably not in your room much. The bed is comfortable with solid products in the bathroom. Points for a steamer instead of an iron. Small complaints: * the bathroom is quite small. Almost impossible to have two people in there at the same time * the lighting is poor -- shaving and makeup is challenging * the doors slam easily; we heard several in the early morning hours * it's a dog friendly hotel so don't be surprised if you hear barking There are several nice spaces throughout the hotel including a outdoor terrace on the second floor (oddly called the rooftop) We've found all the workers to be very friendly.

The Ava Hotel is a new boutique Hilton-branded hotel that recently opened in the heart of downtown Paso Robles. It opened in August 2025 and is minutes away from the downtown city park and all that Paso Robles has to offer. You can either do self parking for $20/night or valet parking for $30. There is also free street parking if you can find a spot. There is no EV parking although there are many within a short distance from the hotel. Our room was on the top floor (4th) and the interior was unsurprisingly modern and new; it was cozy and comforting. One thing is that the Amtrak train runs right by the hotel so you might hear it if your room faces that side; however during the night we didn't hear it. The hotel has two upscale restaurants (EMRE and Esperanza), a rooftop pool and bar/lounge, and a hotel bar on the lobby that also doubles as a coffee shop during the day (Pine Street Bistro). The hotel also has a fitness center, meeting spaces, and pet-friendly rooms. The day that we checked in there was live music in the lobby as well as complimentary wine tasting. I'm not sure if it's because the hotel has opened recently but we received a $10 credit per night that could be used at the coffee shop or the restaurant which was a nice bonus. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and really liked that it was so conveniently located.

Overall a great hotel. Check-in was easy and the rooms were very clean, modern, and accommodating. We had two connecting rooms, one with a king and the other with two queens. Breakfast was decent yet the options appeared limited. The burgers on the second floor rooftop bar area were excellent. Self-parking was very convenient and close to the front lobby. The staff were very polite and attentive.

Beautiful hotel and conveniently located by the town green! We love the walking distance to the town center. We loved our stay here; well kept facility. The staff were approachable and friendly. Sean, was a nice welcome after a long drive. He was polite and friendly; he greeted all guests equally and was eager to help. We love how he remained jovial despite seeing that there was a sudden influx of guests. When we asked him about the parking situation, especially with the limited disabled spots, he gladly walked with us instead of just barking out instructions. He entertained our small talk while he was checking us in; he gave us nice little info about Paso and gave us great suggestions for couples and for families with kids. Moreover, my husband and I love to stay in any of Hilton's Curio and Tapestry collections. We love how they design every hotel with its own unique feel based on the local characteristics and history of where they're located; and The Ava did not disappoint. Every space and corner was well thought of, from the moment you enter in their beautiful lobby up to our room. Also, we love their bar and lounge areas. My husband and I like to check out our hotel's bar to finish off our night. We enjoy taking our time sitting there enjoying the fireplace and mingling with other hotel guests who are also enjoying their night cap. Overall, We really enjoyed our stay here and we will be coming back when we're in town.

We stayed at this hotel for just one night to celebrate our honeymoon, and it was such a lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcomed. The woman at the front desk who checked us in (I believe her name was Annabelle, hope I'm remembering it correctly) was incredibly kind and warm. She congratulated us on our honeymoon and even surprised us with a room upgrade, which truly made our stay feel special. The hotel itself was beautiful: clean, stylish, and very well maintained. Even though our stay was short, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and comfort. We checked in on January 11 around 4 PM, and everything about the experience was smooth and pleasant. Thank you for making our honeymoon night memorable -- we would absolutely love to come back!

Just a piece of the entrance from the main drag.

From the outside, it's rather unassuming, but once you go in the front doors, the inner real beauty of this location is revealed. The courtyard is simply amazing, and like a bubble in space and time that offers a refuge from the outside world. In the evening the fireplaces are burning with hardwood every night and they offer fresh made s'mores to hotel guests. There's actually a s'mores menu. The whole environment is almost like something from a movie. They've also got a wonderful library that is tastefully appointed with many wonderful and interesting different books to read. It definitely invites you to sit down and snuggle by the fire with a good book. Such a cozy feeling! You can also select some candy for a snack. The rooms themselves are also beautiful and the bedding looks nice. Though I will say for me personally the pillows were really uncomfortable, and they had a rough spun duvet which smelled musty on the inside like it hadn't been washed in quite awhile. It looked and smelled like they were washing the sheets and the blanket but not the duvet itself. They also offer breakfast in the morning, but it's a little bit later than some other places so if you have to get an early start, then you probably won't be able to catch it. Overall I really enjoyed the stay and would say this experience is really good for the boutique traveler that is looking for a peaceful, unhurried trip.

While the word motel has certain perceptions attached to it, farmhouse is in actuality a bright, modern, and very aesthetically pleasing hotel with wonderful amenities. We got the standard king bed room. Each room has its own little patio, and a shared fire pit nearby. The room was spacious, clean, and the color palate is a dream. The bathroom amenities were standard. It's a room you wouldn't mind doing a staycation in. The service is wonderful. Such a fun and cute place to stay!…read more For reference, I'm usually not a motel girlie. I've done Hampton Inns and similar but prefer the Four Seasons and Ritz Carltons. Having said that, I've had better customer service at some 3 star places than some 5 stars. I had read great things about this place and it looked so fun, I couldn't pass it up! Guest services here are stellar. I called the day before to see if we could store our luggage in the lobby, realizing we had a tasting before checkin. Not only was that fine, but they said we could get into our room a little early to avoid that. And, they left us a sweet note and gift for our anniversary! If we needed anything, they were quick to reply and help throughout the stay. (For example, hubby forgot his toothbrush. I texted you see if they had any - they did in their gift shop and offered to run one to our room!) The room itself was compact but comfortable and well appointed. And, it was so nice to walk into a cool room on such a hot day. (Don't take that for granted - I've had less than great on that front.) Storage is a little limited, but we used our luggage as a dresser drawer. The bed was firm and cozy, and the sheets were lovely. We slept great! The toilet paper and tissues were a little rough - almost office supply quality - which was disappointing. Huge TV with lots of options. They serve croissants and coffee/tea in the lobby/lounge area in the morning. The croissants were big, buttery, and beautiful! Yummy! The coffee was meh at best. The location is great - just a few blocks to the town park and restaurants. We didn't have an opportunity to use the fire pit, but they looked cozy. The property itself is pretty with lots of flowers. The drive/walkway was steep in some places. Parking seemed a little tricky - we saw people taking a few attempts to make it work - but doable. You only get 1 key per room. We were doing things together the entire time, so that wasn't an issue. I would have liked to have seen an extra security lock on the door, but that's me. All in all it was a great stay and I would be happy to return! (Hint, hint in case hubby sees this!) Huge thanks to all there for making our anniversary getaway a romantic, relaxing treat!

The instructions posted on the wall do not match the buttons on the remote. We ended up doing a web search for the unit's instruction manual. That's pretty sad. These things should be more intuitive. We liked having a fridge and microwave in the room. The downside to our room was that it was on the 2nd floor and we had to carry our things up the stairs since there was no elevator. Do ask for a ground floor if you want to avoid walking up stairs. I became more mindful of these details in recent years when husband suffered from shortness of breath and had a challenging time doing stairs. The property looks nice with several different buildings surrounding a center common grassy lawn area with curved walkways & mini bridge next to their herb garden and koi pond. There are little fish and some ginormous ones in their koi pond. There is also a pool at the rear of the property. It was easy to find parking near our room. The grounds look lovely from your room or from a distance. But we noticed dog poop on the grass when we wanted to walk over to one of the sofas in the grassy area. BE CAREFUL when walking on the grassy parts. People who bring pets here are not mindful about cleaning up after their pets. This is in stark contrast to our stay at Cambria Shores Inn during the previous days (a pet friendly hotel with lots of little dogs staying and no dog poop messes in the outdoor common areas). I guess the pet owners who stay at Cambria Shores Inn are more respectful than the ones who stay here at Paso Robles Inn. Another thing about the outdoor seating is that they look great from a distance, but their uncleanliness can be seen once you walk closer. They were dirty and there was even one set of sofas that had poop on them. It's as if the hotel staff does not go around and wipe the cushions down each day (which I have seen hotel staff do at other hotels and it truly makes a difference). It looks like a nice place to sit & relax outside, but doesn't really work out that way in practice. Hotel is conveniently located near shops & restaurants. The one challenge is crossing Spring St. which is way busier than I ever imagined it to be before booking a room here. LOL The downtown area is pleasant, and you don't need to drive anywhere unless you're visiting a nearby winery.

The vision behind this place is truly inspiring and heartwarming. Built from the ground up around sustainability, human energy, and the balance between light and dark: allegretto, as a name, captures it perfectly. There are structures and masterpieces from six continents woven throughout the grounds, and as you walk through, you feel transported: one moment you're in Europe, the next in India, the next rooted right here in the American West. Astrology, art, intention, and the practice of living in the present moment are threaded through every corner. The wine selection has something for every palate. The tasting room mostly outdoors and so relaxing + beautiful, and the club membership is def worth it! What truly sold me were my wine tour hosts, Rosemary and Ryan. From the moment I walked in, they were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about this place. The spa was great too! Jackie and Denise were warm and I got an amazing facial. Started the morning with yoga in the chapel, which was serene and restorative in the best possible way. The restaurant, Cello, is also excellent. Renee and Devyn were kind & welcoming. Lisa and Ava at the front desk were gracious and warm every time I crossed their path. Also found the most thoughtful, reasonably priced gifts for my family at the wine tasting room: a rare bonus. Heard they're building a second pool that will include both a family pool and an adults-only pool too. A few small notes I'm sharing in the spirit of the brand itself: not as complaints, but as easy wins for mgmt. For a resort so deeply rooted in sustainability, plastic cups at the water stations felt out of place. Switching to paper would be a simple change with a meaningful impact. Similarly, the mats in the chapel were the Amazon brand, which didn't feel aligned with the intentionality of everything else here. And one logistical thing worth noting: a portion of the grounds was blocked off for a wedding the morning after I checked in (pic included) Had planned to wander early and would have really appreciated a heads up at booking so I could plan accordingly. None of this changes my overall experience or my enthusiasm for this place. Allegretto is one of those rare destinations that if the above aligns with what you enjoy, you will be transported. Highest possible recommendation.
