What caught my eye while searching for places to stay in Paso Robles was that the Adelaide Inn is family owned and operated. That's more rare these days, and I like to support family businesses whenever possible. That's being said, everything about this place conveniently located off the 101 and close to downtown and local wineries surpassed my expectations. I had called ahead to say we'd arrive late Friday night between 9-10 and they responded that it would be no problem. As soon as we arrived we were greeted warmly and offered a welcoming cookie. The whole place was festively decorated with lights and holiday spirit and the owner assured us that all of Paso Robles was decked out for the Christmas season. Easy parking directly in front of our room. Our cozy room met our needs wonderfully. Plenty of lights, including recessed lighting in the shower and individual reading lights above the bed! Lots of mirrors, including full length one on bathroom door and makeup mirror. Comfortable reclining chair with ottoman I moved from under the makeup counter to elevate my feet. I like the Tarocco bathroom products because of the orange blossom scent and creaminess. I appreciated the dresser which not only had drawers but recessed counter space to put things like my sunglasses and purse. There was ample counter/desk space to stay somewhat organized as well. The bed was adequately firm and I appreciated the extra blanket available in the closet. Mostly quiet at night except when our neighbors were first getting out of their cars and entering their rooms. The sound of the heater was good background noise. Though the weather wasn't conducive to using the swimming pool, it looked clean and inviting. We only stayed for two nights but I could've easily stayed longer! Highly recommend!

We have stayed here twice now - once in the Fall when we visited several of the wineries around Paso Robles and more recently as we were traveling through the area on the way up north. The location of the is near the highway but not far at all from the center of town. There are facilities nearby but it's also a quiet location. The rooms are very clear and the staff friendly. The rooms are appointed with modern conveniences and there is a pool onsite (which we have not used yet). We will happily book a stay here in the future when our travels take us through Paso Robles.

Awesome & friendly innkeepers. Cool housekeeping staff. Quaint room. Good for a quick 1-2 nighter. One Tesla charger and one J-1772 EV charger.

We came here for our friend's 60th birthday and had such an amazing time. I loved all the little touches with all the landscaping and garden decor. On our first day, they had a wine pouring with cheese and crackers at the pool. They provided cookies in the front office daily. They have a little mini golf area in the pool section. That was a lot of fun, of course the turf needs a little bit of updating. They also have a Jacuzzi, which was at the perfect temperature. I also loved how close it was to all of the restaurants and grocery store. Our room was clean and staff was very attentive. We definitely would recommend this place for anyone that wants a small little hotel with a lot of charm and great service.

Love this homey, clean, friendly place! Happy to discover the park and the Koi pond. The fish are amazingly beautiful! The pool, the room, the hot tub, and the office were all very clean. And the homemade snacks were really unexpected and nice.

We got concert tickets to a show at the fair... our first choice was Adelaide Inn, but honestly the prime location I just assumed we were too late because I waited til 2 weeks before to book.. our friends were staying at Hotel Siri, I booked there... the day we are supposed to check in, the a-hole at Hotel Siri calls and tells us he overbooked, basically to get over it and no help. I ended up booking to their sister Cielo Inn, went to make sure we were all good for check in and he's like check ins at 2.. it's 145, you'll have to wait... they weren't nice so frustrated I asked my husband just drive to Adelaide, it's a long shot but maybe they'll help... Once we pulled up I just thought, oh man they are probably going to be rude and laugh at us for thinking we'd get a room... no, they said yes! We have a smoking and non smoking available, SOO KIND! The rates were cheaper and the place was great! Even if they didn't have a room for us, the kind women at the front desk turned our day around... We checked into our very clean room and when unloading our luggage I accidentally dropped a glass bottle, the maintenance woman saw me picking up the glass and said, no need to do that, I'll call someone over... so so nice.. if I would have been at hotel Siri or ceilo inn I probably would have been yelled at!! Thank you Adelaide Inn, for once again, being an amazing hotel! I'll never try to go somewhere else!

First time in Paso Robles stayed here for 3 nights and the check in went smooth, front desk staff was friendly. The area is super close to a lot of stores, food and activities near by which is pretty nice so you are not using up to much gas. The stay itself was very relaxing and calm, it was a peaceful night and the beds were comfortable, pillows very soft and squishy and bathroom was very clean ! One of my favorite things about the bathroom was the lighting, it has two brightness of switches, so it' was very good lighting to apply my makeup and they also have a small mirror with a light !! The fridge and microwave work well & they have a coffee maker as well. Don't really have any complaints !

We recently stayed at the Adelaide Inn and even though I hate to write this review, it has to be said. We are 25+ year guests at the Inn and are truly shocked at what we encountered on our last trip there. Issue # 1 - As with many hotels there are quieter and busier areas. We always ask for a room in the quieter area and did so when this reservation was made months ago. I followed that up with a phone call less than 24 hours before arriving and was told that we were already placed in the requested room. Upon arrival we found out that we had been moved from upstairs in the middle of the property to the first floor in the back of the property. We were also told that the Inn was full and there was nothing that could be done. The front desk person was as confused as we were about why our room was changed. We arranged to switch rooms in the morning. There was a wildfire in the area and there were several firefighters staying at the Inn and unfortunately their trucks were backed up right in front of our room, less than 5' away. At 5 am when they loaded up and started up all the trucks it was so loud our door and window were actually shaking. Oddly enough out requested room was no where near the trucks or had any firefighters staying in the area. The rooms around the trucks that we were put in were mostly occupied by firefighters. So once again, no reasonable explanation why we were moved. We have nothing but respect for firefighters and this issue was 100% with the Adelaide Inn. In the morning when we went in to the office to switch rooms, the new desk person went straight into telling me what the rules were and her attitude was truly ridiculous. Issue # 2 - The property is starting to look quite run down. The photos of the tattered shade by the pool with the tree branch that had grown thru it and the completely worn away artificial turf on the couple of mini golf holes by the pool are just a couple of examples. Issue # 3 - There are some adopted cats living in the pool area as that is where their food bowls are. The entire pool area smells of cat urine. We heard several guests complain about it by the pool. Issue # 4 - Gross! There was new and old cat poop in the pathway next to the koi pond by out room. Sitting in the Paso summer sun made the smell and flies very disgusting. More attached photos. GROSS!!! I have no idea what has happened to the Adelaide Inn. Maybe they were sold?? It used to be owned and managed by a family and there was always a family member in the office. They were very courteous hosts with old school hospitality training and the exact opposite of the rude employee mentioned above. There are many hotels in Paso now and we will be trying them out on our next trips. I came across a review I posted on the site about this Inn a few years back. What a difference. SAD - VERY SAD!!!!

Great stay! I was expecting a typical motel and was very surprised by the quality and the upgrades in the room. All new furniture, thoughtful decorating. Comfortable bed with tons of smaller feather pillows (my favorite!). The best part was the entry way to the bathroom. There were full light up mirrors and even a smaller pull out magnifying light up makeup mirror, a bench to sit and apply your makeup and even thoughtful amenities like makeup remover wipes. The bathroom had extra large towels and they included shampoo AND conditioner (which is so rare), all of it smelling of Mandarin Blood Orange. There was also a larger mini fridge and coffee/tea Keurig area. Highly recommended and will definitely stay here again!

    Broken, for how long now???

I am giving this place 3 stars - 2 for the location and 1 for the accomodations. We were running late on Friday and as we were driving from Orange County, called the desk to assure them we were still coming. Steve answered and took our credit card info to make the check in process easier. We also had some questions which he not only answered but also picked up on what we were asking (wineries, where to eat, etc) and gave us details on everything we wanted to know... and then some. Steve is an asset to this place and will be successful in whatever he does! The cleaning lady for our room (I regret not getting her name) could not have been a sweeter, nicer person. Bless her!!! (Gwen is another story, which I will address later) Check in was a breeze and we had room 500 at the end of the building. The room was clean and roomy as it was promoted as a "suite". And the shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower was great! They have a Keurig and provide you with coffee pods. The grounds were beautiful with a fish pond and lots of quirky things all over, making the ambiance homey. That was the end of what I can say was nice about this place. The phone did not work. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. I ended up sleeping (if you call what I did sleep) on the floor for awhile. The pillows suck (there is not a better word to describe them). As someone mentioned - the pool is NOT heated and the Jacuzzi is STILL not working. (ever sit in piss water?) I would not even use the pool towels on my car as they would scratch the paint. The equipment in the "gym" needs attention, the cables hardly work. The miniture golf course could use a little restoration. The muffins and sconce's were from a local bakery (edna's) and must have been a few days old. There was NO fruit. When we were packing to leave on Sunday, we called the desk to ask for another half hour as we were at a wedding Saturday night and did not get back until late. We wanted to grab a quick shower before we hit the road. Gwen is more suited for working at the DMV then at a front desk providing customer service, where you should at least be cordial. Her attitude was such that putting everything else aside, would keep me away from ever staying there again. She made us feel like if we were not out of the room by 11, that she would call the police and have us arrested for tresspassing. Nice. I get that rooms need to be cleaned and turned over, but there certainly should be some leway to allow a guest to grab a shower and leave at 11:20. They cannot turn over all the rooms at once. She must be related as that would be the only reason to keep her. (Maybe the owner should do an "undercover boss" or send someone in to test things out and see how things REALLY run there to maybe fix things? That's what I would do....But then, I am not the owner.

I don't know why, but I always thought that Paso Robles or "Paso" as it's referred to, was some Podunk town that just wasn't worth stopping for. Yeah, I've passed it so many times while traveling North on "THE 101" or simply "101" as they refer to it in NorCal.... ;) (IYKYK) And all those times I've passed through, I've never once thought about pulling off the freeway to see what Paso was all about. Well, just like Julia Robert's character said in Pretty Woman while shopping on Rodeo Drive.... "Big Mistake. Big. HUGE!" Yeah, just like that sales clerk in Pretty Woman I too made a HUGE mistake! Plot Twist: I am the Good Looking Not Quite the Silver Fox Richard Gere of this story. =) ----So let's break down Paso & The Ava Hotel---- For my wife's Birthday Weekend, we made reservations at... The Ava Hotel Paso Robles. Mind you, we left mid-day from our home and by the time we arrived to Paso and pulled into the Hotel parking lot, it was already dark, but right away I could tell that the Hotel my wife booked us was Top Notch. First Impression: Sheesh, my wife sure knows how to spoil herself for HER Birthday weekend. Haha. Once parked, I had my wife and 3 girls head into the lobby out of the cold while I lugged what felt like 12 suitcases... We were only there for three nights; do you really need a suit case just for your change of shoes?? Gotta love Girls... Plot twist: The suitcase with the extra shoes.... WAS MINE!!!!!! Jk, maybe, not really, I'll never tell... =) Upon checking in, I immediately noticed how Great the staff was; Kind, Welcoming and from the looks of the place, even at night, I just knew we were going to enjoy our weekend stay here. ----The Room---- Everything you'd expect, but More! We had 2 comfy Queens, a large screen TV, a mini fridge, a clean bathroom and a Great standalone shower! Being that this hotel is Brand New, everything was clean and felt nearly unused which really made for an enjoyable stay. The next morning, my wife's actual Birthday, we got dressed, headed downstairs and celebrated with a Birthday Mimosa from their Lobby Bar. It was the perfect start to our day and to my wife's Special Day From there we headed out to explore Downtown Paso Robles which BTW, The Ava Hotel is what I would call the start of the Downtown area so it's literally the PERFECT place to stay if you, yourself come to Paso Robles one day. And to those still with us, Remember earlier when I said I made a "Big Mistake. Big. Huge!" By simply thinking that Paso Robles was some Podunk, no-nothin town that wasn't worth exiting the freeway for?? Well, I'll be the 1st to admit. I was wrong!!! Paso is one of my new favorite Central Coast towns that I can't wait to come back to. The fun little shops, the great eateries, Wine, more Wine, Did I mention there's Wine? Yeah, loads and loads of world-renowned wineries specializing in French Reds, but they've got whites too so don't stress. Not a wine person? More of a beer drinker? Paso's Got You!! Come check out Firestone Walker Brewing Co., home of the "805" beer; the regions Phone Area Code. Yeah, drink local baby!! So after enjoying breakfast at the Cowgirl Cafe (Epic Review coming soon), we went to the downtown park at let our kids play with the locals. We then hit several of the eclectic shops, including a local bookstore where my wife was like a kid in a candy store and The Spice of Life Tea Shop which I fell in love with (reviews of everywhere we went NEXT, so stay tuned) and finally made our way back to The Ava to take a break and rest our pups (our feet). Upon walking back to The Ava Hotel, I couldn't help but be in Awe of this well manicured, architecturally forward, beautifully designed building. To be honest, It looks and it feels more like a Resort and I felt so spoiled to be apart of its beginning days and I'm proud to give it the 5 stars it deserves. So... What have we learned?? Step 1: Book a room at the Ava Hotel. Step 2: Put your wife's name on the luggage tag of your suitcase for the extra shoes you really brought. Step 3: Bring one empty suitcase for all the Romantasy books your wife's gonna buy at Spare Time Books! To Paso.... To The Ava Hotel... I can't wait to come back!

In the evening the fireplaces are burning with hardwood every night and they offer fresh made s'mores to hotel guests. There's actually a s'mores menu. The whole environment is almost like something from a movie. They've also got a wonderful library that is tastefully appointed with many wonderful and interesting different books to read. It definitely invites you to sit down and snuggle by the fire with a good book. Such a cozy feeling! You can also select some candy for a snack. The rooms themselves are also beautiful and the bedding looks nice. Though I will say for me personally the pillows were really uncomfortable, and they had a rough spun duvet which smelled musty on the inside like it hadn't been washed in quite awhile. It looked and smelled like they were washing the sheets and the blanket but not the duvet itself. They also offer breakfast in the morning, but it's a little bit later than some other places so if you have to get an early start, then you probably won't be able to catch it. Overall I really enjoyed the stay and would say this experience is really good for the boutique traveler that is looking for a peaceful, unhurried trip.

The kitchen staff was working hard to get everything topped off as soon as an item started to get low. I also used the gym, which is located next to the indoor pool and it was good for a quick workout: some treadmills, elypticals, free weights. The check-in and check-out were quick and easy and I consider the price point a good value. We had a nice time and if going to Paso next time, I'll defiently keep HIE in mind.

Important Note: 1/9/26 This location is actively under remodel/ construction. I walked into the…read morefront lobby area and was immediately greeted by a lonely front desk to the left and huge pile of caution taped boxes being moved on the right. The walls are completely bare, stripped of paint and most of the decor, but penciled-in instructions of what SHOULD go on the wall is definitely still visible. I thought I had made a huge mistake from the minute I walked in. While I was told all amenities are still open and accessible during this time, I think it's important to set expectations. The outdoor fire pit sits directly to the right of the entrance and borders sidewalk... the neighboring view is of the parking lot. The "free breakfast" is nothing like you see on their website. There is no brightly lit room with cute kitchen themed decor... or places to sit. Rather, it is a set of 3-4 chaffing dishes, arranged on a folding table, next to a "coffee station" atop of a random cabinet haphazardly placed just outside the 2nd floor elevator doors. The highly recognizable pancake machine is legit for display only because of the two days I was here it was not functional... very disappointing. The "newly renovated rooms" looked nice... but that was truly where the buck stopped. Upon arrival, the neighboring room happened to slam the door at just the right time that a plastic covering popped off the wall and left exposed wires at eye level. Uhm what?! It is worth mentioning, that I booked a room with two queen beds. The beds are very tall and while comfortable, were horribly squeaky at the base. Even the slightest shift in the bed led to horrible squeaking from the boxspring. And to make matters worse, the walls in the room are extremely thin... and the front door is hollow core (Google it) so you can hear EVERYTHING. Restful sleep? Think again. And unfortunately, it doesn't end there. The bathroom vent fan in our room didn't work so if you take a hot shower, it immediately turns into an unexpected steam room. (Not just the bathroom, the WHOLE room. No joke. Check the windows and you'll see what I mean!) If you move the mixer valve just a little too far away from the hottest setting? Prepare for an instant ice shower. There was seemingly, no in-between. And the best part, If you are sitting on the toilet, be careful if someone else tries to open the door because your kneecaps are doomed. Long story short... my family has officially barred me from making any hotel reservations in the future as a result of this stay, and honestly... I can't blame them. This was one of the toughest hotel experiences I've had in a long time.

There is also a pizza place right there, which I had marked but didn't get a chance to try. Don't expect any resort feeling here, it's just a clean and convenient place to stay for Paso trips that provides lot of pluses to make the stay pleasant and perfect. - The elder lady at check in was very sweet, calm, and welcoming. Instantly feeling the body and mind relax to enjoy the stay. She was there the next morning at check out too, such a pleasant person to talk to, felt like getting blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. - This is a large Best Western property that's well maintained. Parking was convenient and elevator to 2nd floor made easy transport of luggage. Pool looked nice, but didn't get to use. - Room size was plenty adequate for family and clean, well maintained in it's age. Vanity/sink outside made it convenient to have separation of toilet/shower. The best part of the room was definitely the toilet/shower:) - Shower pressure was excellent, the best I've had anywhere! - And the small window to vent the toilet/shower was awesome to keep air fresh! Just a convenient, friendly, great place to stay.

What an adorable place to stay for a weekend trip to Paso…read more The Farmhouse is a newly renovated motel. While the word motel has certain perceptions attached to it, farmhouse is in actuality a bright, modern, and very aesthetically pleasing hotel with wonderful amenities. Prices can be average to above average depending on the time of the year, but we were able to use some credit card points to save even further. I'd say the stay is worth the baseline price, though. We got the standard king bed room. Each room has its own little patio, and a shared fire pit nearby. The room was spacious, clean, and the color palate is a dream. The bathroom amenities were standard. It's a room you wouldn't mind doing a staycation in. The service is wonderful. There is a front desk for easy check in, and the host was available via text if we needed anything ( at one point we needed more tissues and she brought it within minutes). They also offer free rosé upon arrival and free pastries and fruit/coffee during breakfast. The location is not exactly in downtown but it's a 15 min walk or a 5 min drive to the park/square. Can't wait to come back .

Such a fun and cute place to stay!…read more For reference, I'm usually not a motel girlie. I've done Hampton Inns and similar but prefer the Four Seasons and Ritz Carltons. Having said that, I've had better customer service at some 3 star places than some 5 stars. I had read great things about this place and it looked so fun, I couldn't pass it up! Guest services here are stellar. I called the day before to see if we could store our luggage in the lobby, realizing we had a tasting before checkin. Not only was that fine, but they said we could get into our room a little early to avoid that. And, they left us a sweet note and gift for our anniversary! If we needed anything, they were quick to reply and help throughout the stay. (For example, hubby forgot his toothbrush. I texted you see if they had any - they did in their gift shop and offered to run one to our room!) The room itself was compact but comfortable and well appointed. And, it was so nice to walk into a cool room on such a hot day. (Don't take that for granted - I've had less than great on that front.) Storage is a little limited, but we used our luggage as a dresser drawer. The bed was firm and cozy, and the sheets were lovely. We slept great! The toilet paper and tissues were a little rough - almost office supply quality - which was disappointing. Huge TV with lots of options. They serve croissants and coffee/tea in the lobby/lounge area in the morning. The croissants were big, buttery, and beautiful! Yummy! The coffee was meh at best. The location is great - just a few blocks to the town park and restaurants. We didn't have an opportunity to use the fire pit, but they looked cozy. The property itself is pretty with lots of flowers. The drive/walkway was steep in some places. Parking seemed a little tricky - we saw people taking a few attempts to make it work - but doable. You only get 1 key per room. We were doing things together the entire time, so that wasn't an issue. I would have liked to have seen an extra security lock on the door, but that's me. All in all it was a great stay and I would be happy to return! (Hint, hint in case hubby sees this!) Huge thanks to all there for making our anniversary getaway a romantic, relaxing treat!

While the building is historic it's been recently renovated and the rooms are modern and well equipped. We chose a Garden King Room. It's a good-sized room with a fireplace and a nice balcony overlooking the beautiful courtyard. The bathroom is spacious with a walk-in shower and a large double vanity. There is a Nespresso type coffee maker in the room and a tea kettle. Also, a couple bottles of drinking water per day are provided. Connected to the hotel is the wonderful Cattlemen's Bar which is beautifully renovated and has a nice local wine list and makes creative cocktails. There's also a breakfast restaurant which I went to for take-out coffee (the coffee maker in the room made weak coffee). Also, a steakhouse which we did not visit but is also recently renovated and looks nice. Service at the hotel was professional and friendly. The only downside of the hotel is that we were so busy with activities that we did not get to take full advantage of the hotel offerings.

The instructions posted on the wall do not match the buttons on the remote. We ended up doing a web search for the unit's instruction manual. That's pretty sad. These things should be more intuitive. We liked having a fridge and microwave in the room. The downside to our room was that it was on the 2nd floor and we had to carry our things up the stairs since there was no elevator. Do ask for a ground floor if you want to avoid walking up stairs. I became more mindful of these details in recent years when husband suffered from shortness of breath and had a challenging time doing stairs. The property looks nice with several different buildings surrounding a center common grassy lawn area with curved walkways & mini bridge next to their herb garden and koi pond. There are little fish and some ginormous ones in their koi pond. There is also a pool at the rear of the property. It was easy to find parking near our room. The grounds look lovely from your room or from a distance. But we noticed dog poop on the grass when we wanted to walk over to one of the sofas in the grassy area. BE CAREFUL when walking on the grassy parts. People who bring pets here are not mindful about cleaning up after their pets. This is in stark contrast to our stay at Cambria Shores Inn during the previous days (a pet friendly hotel with lots of little dogs staying and no dog poop messes in the outdoor common areas). I guess the pet owners who stay at Cambria Shores Inn are more respectful than the ones who stay here at Paso Robles Inn. Another thing about the outdoor seating is that they look great from a distance, but their uncleanliness can be seen once you walk closer. They were dirty and there was even one set of sofas that had poop on them. It's as if the hotel staff does not go around and wipe the cushions down each day (which I have seen hotel staff do at other hotels and it truly makes a difference). It looks like a nice place to sit & relax outside, but doesn't really work out that way in practice. Hotel is conveniently located near shops & restaurants. The one challenge is crossing Spring St. which is way busier than I ever imagined it to be before booking a room here. LOL The downtown area is pleasant, and you don't need to drive anywhere unless you're visiting a nearby winery.
