I gave this place 5 stars because, overall, they truly deserve it, but I'll start with a few negatives. I called multiple times over two days to confirm we were bringing our dog and never got an answer. you do have to leave a voicemail and they will return call. There is no AC unit, which may be an issue for some guests. especially for hotter days and the room does not have cross wind/circulating windows, Also, the booking photos show a sliding glass door to the beach (Hotel.com needs to update photos), but the hotel is actually across the street. Our window faced the water, but it's not a direct walk-out beach property. Now for the positives, the staff (all of them) were amazing. The rooms are bungalow-style and very clean and spacious. The hotel is pet-friendly $100 fee, and check-in/check-out was easy. The check-in area feels cozy and homey, with couches, chairs, books, and games available. They offer beer, wine, adult beverages (Adult options for your coffee), plus a kitchen and outdoor fireplace sitting area. The hotel is directly across the street from the beach, about a 2-min walk to the water. The room was large and well-stocked with a mini fridge (fees may apply), huge comforters, bathrobes, slippers, a fan, fireplace, shower supplies such as body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, and a sitting chair. There are many additional amenities available for a fee in the room and in their lobby area. In the morning, they deliver a basket with pastries croissants, cinnamon rolls, coffee, orange juice, and champagne, a really nice touch. They also have bikes you can use and go bike riding, corn hole games, picnic benches, There's also an ice maker on-site. Parking spaces are small, so be cautious if you have a lifted truck or wide rims. The area itself is very nice. The hotels along the coastline are set up similarly, facing north and south, so most have somewhat obstructed or no ocean views or direct walk-on beach access. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place, Hotel cost wasn't too bad but remember all the hotels in this area do not have walk out beach rooms. Area is very quiet, relaxing, and peaceful, and EVERYONE is pet friendly even with a pitbull breed. Our kids had a blast in the ocean and were able to play board games eat ice cream and enjoy the scenery. there are several benches along the walk path in case you need to sit down and relax. There is small community town about 15min tops. several restaurants and shopping. old town style, very homey. so, if you're looking for a disconnect type of vacation, no party scene, just want peaceful and relaxation, this is the place. I will attach pictures and I do apologize because these were at the end of the trip and not when we first arrived. so, excuse the beds. The hotel was very clean and have hardwood floors. read more

booked a fri + wknd getaway to cambria to honor my furbaby's first heavenly anniversary. i just needed to unplug and wanted to reminisce all the memories we shared in a peaceful place. cambria was perfect. it was overwhelming picking an inn to stay at, but white water just kept calling my name. booked a deluxe king room online with the inn directly vs third party site. love that they are pet friendly ($100/stay) . white water is gorgeous. the lobby is so chic. love the greenery. check in was smooth. i was assigned to room 21. i believe in signs and this, all this was meant to be. the room was clean and had everything in it, minus food, def stayed in majority of the time. the boardwalk was directly across the way, just had to cross the street and you're there. the ocean views were perfect. loved the breakfast picnic baskets each morning. made our breakfast and we got to enjoy it on our bench outside our room. parking is not a covered lot, it's open spaces and kinda smaller spots, so if you have a truck or larger suv, def will be going over the line. a few ev charging spots. there are plenty of spots to park along moonstone drive. they also do have mini fridges in the room and no microwave. LOVE the Aesop products in the room!!! a few downside during my stay were: the few times i went to the front desk, the "out of office" sign was up each time. i wanted to rent a bike to bike around the town, no one was around to assist. i waited about 10-15m each time. they have a fire pit that was on the entire time. i heard they provide s'more kits, but we were not provided with any. there isnt really any pet relief area on site. also, all units do not have AC, only fans. i had no service while i was there. i literally was on SOS. i actually loved it. don't worry, there is wifi avail! i would def book white water again! read more

We arrive at 6 pm it was a little later than plan. The staff at desk was so welcoming and gave us hints where to eat and places to visit. Are room was perfect two large queen beds that were so comfortable and linens that completed the whole scenario . They have a picnic basket with beach towels and blanket. And at 8:00 in morning they delivered fresh pastries , coffee and orange juice. Very nice touch. Perfect room for the amount of time we were in it. I probably would have got a suite and room to have some more space. But other wise everything was perfect. Also we had waited till last minute to book room and had four of us and dog. What a neat place to stay in Cambria. My only regret is booking only one night. The room had a retro vibe but was very well maintained and clean. Loved the little pour over coffee pods. Never seen anything like this. In the mornings they bring you a picnic basket with a thermos full of coffee, some pastries and a do it yourself mimosa. The hotel has easy access to the moonstone boardwalk that runs along the bluffs. Easy walk to the boardwalk and to the beach to enjoy the sunset. Need to come back to stay at this place. read more

A Perfect Babymoon Stay - Unforgettable Experience! My wife and I recently stayed at White Water for a special two-night babymoon getaway, and it exceeded every expectation. As SLO locals, we've admired this boutique hotel on past visits to Moonstone Beach and Sea Chest Oyster Bar, and we're so glad we finally stayed--it was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, the staff's hospitality was above and beyond. They remembered us from a previous visit when we stopped by to check out the lobby before booking. That attention to detail carried throughout our stay. They placed us in Room #1, a stunning space with a dual-sided fireplace that warmed both the bedroom and cozy living area. The bathroom was a dream, featuring an open-concept shower, a luxurious soaking tub with a gorgeous view of Moonstone Beach, and high-end Aesop bath products that we loved. One of the highlights was the morning hospitality baskets that were hand delivered to our room, which were a thoughtfully curated treat--fresh pastries from The French Corner, local HoneyCo Roasters coffee, and bottled fresh orange juice (plus brut champagne for a proper toast!). It was the perfect way to start each morning. The lobby's mini bar was another gem, offering local wines, draft beers, and hand-crafted cocktails (they even made a delicious mocktail for my wife). On Saturday night, we loved cozying up by the outdoor fire pit with drinks in hand, enjoying their DIY s'mores bar, which was such a fun and nostalgic touch after sunset. The hotel also provides complimentary cruiser bikes, which we took for a scenic ride along Moonstone Beach Drive. A short walk brought us to Leffingwell Landing Park, where we enjoyed a sunset picnic using the complimentary travel bag provided in our room. The location is ideal--within walking distance of great spots like Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill and Madeline's Wine Bar, and just a quick drive to downtown Cambria where we had lunch at Brydge and Dinner at Madeline's (both were recommended on White Water's website and lived up the billing). We have stayed here many times. Always perfect. We love it! Rooms are great and we've stayed in many of them. This is an ideal place for a little stay in the room-cation. I do wish the moonstone beach strip had 1-2 more food/wine/cafe/places to eat or this hotel opened something with food service as you have to go 2 miles over to the downtown cambria to get a meal. We normally bring food as the hotel rooms have a fridge to store it. We love White Water -- can't say enough great things about it. Every detail is thought out for you-- great showers, extra items in the room for cold nights, AM coffee and mimosa delivery to your room, a cute lobby bar with games, drinks, and snacks. Stayed here with our two boys for two nights. The room was clean, modern and stocked with luxurious amenities. The room was small for the four of us, but we enjoyed the bench seat by the window to give us that extra bit of space. There are only a few rooms with the outdoor space that we were hoping to get. We do love that each room feels like a cottage. Our favorite part was the morning delivery of the breakfast basket. So fun! We did have to pass on the pastries for our youngest son who has a nut allergy. A little customization there would have been amazing. We were going to take advantage of the onsite cocktails/beer/wine and appetizers, but didn't the chance. This is such a nice offering though! read more

We stayed at White Water about 2 1/2 years ago. We were so incredibly impressed, we came back, this time booking one of the ocean front rooms (at a premium price). I have to say, it was disappointing. Two years ago, for breakfast, you'd get a basket filled with (good) coffee, fresh-squeezed orange juice, pastries from a French bakery in town, and two splits of champagne (for mimosas), and it was included in the price of the room. This time around, the "amenities package" (or whatever it is called), is $17 per night (which includes breakfast basket in the morning, WiFi, Parking). This time around, the breakfast basket had a thermos of coffee that was not good, a bottle of fresh-squeezed orange juice, two pieces of some kind of very sweet bread (before it was pastries or croissants from the French bakery) and NO splits of champagne. (When we checked in, we asked about the amenities and the person at the front desk was pretty vague, saying, we they include the champagne splits on the weekend?) For over $500 per night, the amenities package should be included. The TV interface was horrible. It had 1 app available (Netflix) but it was impossible to sign on and the remote was useless. When we arrived, the fireplace didn't work (needed to call engineering to re-light the pilot) and the phone didn't work. After I unplugged it and re-plugged it in, it worked so I could call the front desk. In our opinion, this place went from a luxury lodge to an over-priced so-so place. Not sure if this was taken over by new owners but if so, they should pay attention. As stated above, VERY disappointing. We come to Cambria every year. We won't be coming back to this place unless they improve. read more

The perk of the morning basket of mimosas and coffee is an absolute delight, and best scones I've ever had. Wish the champagne bottle was larger (wink) but all else was lovely. Wow! Where does one start? I've wanted to stay at White Water for a couple years now, we usually stay in a different area when we are in town but ever since I spotted White Water I knew I needed to stay here. Their nightly rates can be double most other places and sometimes even more than that. When I spotted $333 for a Sunday, I jumped at it because the last dates I'd checked were much more than that. We'd been in Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur and were making our way home but not driving back to LA on Sunday so Cambria was the perfect place to stop. We had a great stay. It will be really tough to book other properties in the area after staying here but there are other charming places to stay if you want to save. White Water felt like a place curated exactly for me. I'm not certain if that makes me your stereotypical basic LA broad but it is what it is. I own and prefer many of the brands (Erewhon, Stanley, Linus, Aesop) used at and around the hotel which made me feel very in my element. We stayed in Room 3 and it was gorgeous. I love a beach town from Cambria to Carp, to Cape Cod. I'm a mermaid at heart. The water pressure in the room was exceptional. If you know me, you know one of the things I find sexiest about a place is their water pressure. The shower is also very spacious, which is perfect for couples who love showering together. I was with my bestie so we obviously didn't share the shower but it's very conducive to saving water and showering together. Love it! Their hooded robes were lovely. I do wish they had a slipper offering. That's probably the single thing I'd improve. The fireplace, fan, bed, closet, steamer (I only steam my clothes, never iron- so this really impressed me), refrigerator, desk space, bathroom, reading nook in the window, sitting chair, teas, coffee, you name it. Everything was perfect! I had forgotten my backgammon board, and conveniently they even have one in the lobby sitting area. The morning delivery of coffee, mimosas and muffins was a delish treat. We did experience a power outage during our stay but it didn't matter much at all. I was pretty tired from running a marathon earlier that day and got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom to realize I couldn't turn any lights on. I thought it was just me, but soon realized everything was out. I called the 24hour phone line and it was immediately answered. I was told we had a lantern in our room, but ours was missing and not there. It wasn't a big deal, I used the flashlight on my phone and went right back to bed. The power was restored later and didn't cause any issues. There was a robe leftover from another stay hanging on the backdoor of the bathroom. I didn't touch it and didn't really even care. I suppose someone may have been a little grossed out by it and call to have it removed. I think I was too exhausted to care. I used one of the 2 fresh clean ones hanging in the closet. I slept with the fireplace on all night, in fact I pretty much kept it on the entire time I was in the room. I really loved everything about this place. The staff were kind and friendly. The lobby area is stunning. I spotted an old fashioned and a marg (my two fav cocktails) on the cocktail menu and really wanted one but didn't get around to it. They offered a bottle of Cab that I'd just had at dinner the evening before and really loved so every single thing about this place is really just spot on to my own taste. The gals at the front desk the evening we checked in were lovely, and made us a dinner reservation which was perfect. If we have similar taste, you'll love it. If we don't I don't know what to tell you. You can find other nearby accommodations that are less per night, and slightly different. I will say where Cambria can be the most calm, peaceful escape the age demographic here is typically older. I can see that White Water is really tailored toward more youthful guests imo, and that's what you'll see around the place which is nice when you're one of the few non AARP members on holiday here. I really can't wait to check back in. I'm already wondering what week I'll escape LA to come back. read more

We just returned from a wonderful stay at White Water Cambria and I'd go back in a heartbeat. From start to finish, this hotel gets it - friendly and accommodating staff, stylish and comfortable rooms, and little touches everywhere that make this a truly wonderful property. Our room had an amazing view of the ocean (I think they all do!) and we sat in the lobby a few times just to take shelter from the wind and enjoy a cocktail. Breakfast delivered in the morning was a wow - the Aesop bath products in the bathroom was another. The oceanfront path is just steps from the hotel and we enjoyed a number of walks along the water just soaking in the beautiful sea air. As a gay couple, we felt very welcomed at Whitewater and in fact we ran into three other same-sex couples at the hotel. A big plus. I could say more ... but it's better for you to go and experience it for yourself. We've been to Cambria a number of times at different hotels along the beach, and by far, this was the shining star. read more

Just got back from a weekend at the White Water Inn. Like many of you, I saw this Inn on TikTok when I was planning my trip to Cambria. My husband and I booked a deluxe king room (Room 9). Upon check-in, I couldn't believe how beautiful and updated the lobby was. It's like you're walking into a Pottery Barn/Restoration Hardware. The location can't be beat. It's across the street from the beach with an entrance right onto the boardwalk. There's bikes located right outside the lobby that are yours to use. Onto the bedrooms - the bedrooms are your average size hotel room. We had a partial ocean view, which I was not expecting! It was a sweet surprise. The beds are draped in white linens and pretty comfortable. Another plus?The room had a fireplace! It definitely added to the coziness. The restroom looks a little dated, which surprised me. However, the shower is equipped with Aesop shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Every morning staff delivers a picnic basket to the front door. It includes pastries, champagne, orange juice, and hot coffee. Such a beautiful and thoughtful touch. I really enjoyed my stay. It's close to the beach and restaurants within walking distance. You've probably already guessed but the White Water Inn is very expensive and we went in the off season! There's so many other inn's right next door so to me this seems like a place you experience once. Don't get me wrong, it's a good location for a birthday weekend or anniversary trip. I wouldn't recommend it for families though as I could see this place being a bit too sterile. Aslo, for as expensive this place is, the room was not super clean when we arrived. I could tell the floors in the bedroom and bathroom needed to be scrubbed and we had ants in the bathroom the one night it rained! read more

It's hard to know where to start with this review because everything about this stay was amazing. I booked a last a minute trip and called the hotel the evening prior to discuss the pet rules and the woman who answered the phone was so kind and nice. When we arrived she recognized my name and introduced us to the general manager who gave our pup lots of love. The hotel is beautiful and we were lucky enough to stay in the ocean view suite which was a true gem and worth every penny. I walked over to the lobby to try some wine and purchased a bottle to relax in my room. The general manager gave us recommendations for coffee and food stops to try on our way home. These people.... Where do I begin. First, i two issues in the room (water, phone) that were problematic. Was told they weren't issues. They were issues. Second, they called me to leave my room to unplug my car from their charging station because another guest wanted to charge. Wtf?! Put a sign out asking people to move when a charge is complete or create some notification system. Don't call me and request I move my car. Third, they refused to lend us two pieces of silverware because, as they said, "we don't do room service." Really? Apparently, they don't do service. Of any form. Won't return. read more

My wife rode horses for ten years and still misses it twenty years after she stopped, so one of my Christmas presents to her was a trip to Cambria to visit and ride Clydesdales at a ranch above town. There were a lot of choices for where to stay and we liked the look of White Water and the wonderful reviews. So now it's our turn to add ours. After a beautiful drive up from Los Angeles we were greeted warmly by Leah at the front desk, and maybe it was the gorgeous day, maybe it was our clear delight at having arrived, or maybe just Leah's sweet nature, but she told us one of the ocean view rooms was not booked so she was upgrading us free of charge. I think the next time we come up we're going to have to grab that room again, even if we have to pay for it. It was beautifully laid out, with a seating alcove featuring a comfy L-shaped banquette, very nice bathroom, king size bed and high ceiling and a perfect view of the Pacific through the large window, Outside was a private seating area with an outdoor bathtub (!) which we didn't use this time but will on the next trip, and a cushioned chaise lounge perfect for viewing the spectacular night sky. We've been lucky enough to experience some lovely hotel rooms, but my wife declared this one of her favorites. Wasn't crazy about how we were greeted by lady. They couldn't nicely explain the relationship with Hyatt and she was very robotic in her response. I explain better below. Phone didn't work in room, gas fireplace didn't work, so had to go in person to get maintenance guy to come over and fix. No plugs next to bed for computer, only phone. Had to unplug light to get computer on. TV is extremely difficult, so we gave up and watched on our laptop. It's a dressed up Motel 6 but does have location. We stayed at the White Water Inn in Cambria in August, and overall, it was a really pleasant experience. This dog-friendly boutique hotel is perfectly situated along a beautiful stretch of small inns and hotels overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We stayed in one of the end suites, which featured a wraparound window offering stunning views of the ocean, just about 100 yards from the cliffs. The room also had a patio that wrapped around the front, providing a private sitting space with enough room for an outdoor soaking tub (though we didn't get a chance to use it). One of the highlights for us was how dog-friendly the hotel was. They provided a thoughtful doggie welcome kit, and the boardwalk along the cliffs across the street was a fantastic place to walk our pup. However, I'm giving the White Water Inn 4 stars instead of 5 due to a few minor details. First, we were a bit disappointed that the patio didn't offer an ocean view as the room description led us to believe. The patio is enclosed by a fence and hedge, so you can only see the ocean if you stand up and are tall enough to see over it. Second, the room felt a bit stuffy. Even though it was cold at night (low 50s), we couldn't open the windows much since only one window opens, and the AC unit wasn't very effective in circulating air. There was a fan in the closet that we didn't set up, which probably would have helped. Finally, and this isn't the hotel's fault, but it's worth mentioning--there's no cell service with AT&T in this area, so you have to rely on the hotel's internet for connectivity, which wasn't great. The internet speed varied between 7 and 10 Mbps most of the time, so streaming a movie was tough. Overall, the White Water Inn is a lovely, dog-friendly place with a great view, but a few details keep it from being a 5-star experience, especially considering the price, which wasn't cheap. read more

This has quickly become my favorite hotel on the Central Coast. I've been twice now and have another upcoming trip next week. The entire staff (Patrick, Laura, Lindsey, Isaha, and honestly every single person I met there) is absolutely lovely and they go above and beyond. They're all so kind and have phenomenal recommendations whether you're looking for a sunset spot, hike, shop, or restaurant to go to. Style: Designer Nina Freudenberger (one of my favorite designers- of the design firm Haus Interior, and author of Surf Shack) designed the hotel. Nina's attention to detail is second to none, from the art to the accents. The lobby is inviting and bright, and the perfect place to WFH, with speedy wifi (a rarity in Cambria). The lobby bar offers a variety of small bites (get the cheese plate), pre-mixed cocktails, and local wines / beers which are perfect to enjoy while catching the sunset from the huge glass windows in the lobby. Plus, the playlist is always 10/10. Location: Unbeatable. You're right across from Moonstone Beach / the boardwalk. Walking distance to plenty of dining options, and a 5 minute drive from town. Rooms: Rooms are spacious and clean. Huge shower, gas fireplace, mini-fridge, comfortable beds, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. And for all of the LA folks visiting, you'll feel right at home with the Erewhon minibar items. The Aesop bath amenities are lovely too. Dining: Fresh scones and a thermos of coffee are delivered to your room in a picnic basket every morning. There's plenty of space in the mini fridge to bring yogurts and other items. There are multiple dining options within walking distance (Sea Chest- cash only, and get there an hour+ early to get a spot, but worth it, Madeline's on Moonstone, Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill, etc.) They also offer complimentary bikes for you to get around on. Overall, this hotel is truly a hidden gem and perfect for a weekend getaway or a change of scenery while working from home. I can't recommend it enough. read more

On our way back to the bay from a LA trip we decided to spend a night in Cambria. The white water hotel was our choice and we definitely didn't regret it. Very welcoming staff, they did everything to accommodate our stay, switching from a double bed to a king without any issues at all. The room was super relaxing and the atmosphere put you at peace right away! We love their lobby it's just beautiful, every detail is on point. The cherry on top was the breakfast waiting for you at the door when you wake up, in a cute basket with coffee in a thermos, pastries and mimosas kit! Full Review: Was lured to the White Water Lodge when they were written about in the Block Shop Textiles newsletter, we were looking for a little midweek get away and this seemed like the perfect place. Good design, beautiful location, liked by artist we love. Plus bikes! That is always good . When we got there the lobby space felt like everything you would want from an upscale boutique hotel. Great colors, warm, chill tunes, a space where you want to sit and drink cocktails and look at the ocean. We were very excited to be there. The front desk person who checked us in was nice and welcoming, answering all the little questions that we had. Cute design everywhere. Off to a great start! We had one of the Deluxe King Rooms (#09) and the view from our window was lovely. The space was so super cute, and having Aesop as your bath amenities is always a win. The bed was giant and arguably the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. (Need to buy for our home). The fridge was great, the morning coffee and pastries were going to be quite a treat. We dropped off our stuff and ran to the beach for a sunset walk. Then the problems started making themselves known upon our return. The bathroom floor was grimy, the shower window looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, the screen was covered in dust. The toilet seat was flimsy and the whole toilet itself rocked a little left and right, not sure it was fully bolted down to the floor. It also clogged often. When we asked for it to be fixed it took over two hours, and a second request, to get it unstuck. The shower pan is huge, but also super slippery and the one shower mat isn't enough to cover the whole shower so either you slip and slide while showering or when you are trying to get out of the shower. A specific call-out for the shower. The water pressure was dodgy at best, but next level on Friday. In the middle of showering, covered in soapy suds, the water pressure just stopped to a tiny trickle. Then after spending like 5 min trying all kinds of yoga poses to get rinsed off, it suddenly kicks back on scalding hot. The place hadn't been dusted in quite some time, as the print on the wall had a thick layer of dust along the top of the frame. The lights on the walls are a cute design, but the bare bulbs were harsh at night, and were unusable as a nighttime reading light. The window was very hard to close, and the paint was peeling from the frame. The bed was great to sleep in, but if you had any other activity or motion beyond corpse pose, it would squeak and creek so loudly that it was comical and felt like a gag. Really quite bad. All of the marketing makes this place seem like a truly luxury roadside hotel, but to us it felt like a rundown space with a coat of hipster paint. At $418.10 a night for midweek pricing, it's hard to not feel like any of the marketing promises and set expectations were met in any way. We were so hopeful to find a new favorite get away, but we will not be returning to this location. read more

What an amazing property! Nestled in the majestic Moonstone Beach area, this boutique hotel gives vintage yet modern vibes. Guest rooms are large and offer a lot of amenities such as a fireplace, comfy beds, huge showers and a big screen tv. I even saw some of the rooms offer a soaking tub on a private patio if you're willing to pay a little more. Located next to a lot of great local restaurants offering sustainable eats from the area. They even deliver a small basket of goodies in the morning for you to enjoy. The staff was super professional, friendly and knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend this property if you're ever in the area. read more

I found White Water featured in a travel magazine and thought it would be perfect place to stay during my trip to Cambria. As was drawn to this place because of the photos and looked like an out of the ordinary place to stay. By out of the ordinary I was right but in a good way. I feel that White Water offers what few even bigger hotels offers and that is an experience. It's the little things that this place offers that stands out, Aesop soap, scone & coffee each morning, bike rental super cool lobby and decor through out. Who ever designed this place did an amazing job. Beyond that White Water is a cool place to stay at very modern while I believe other places in Cambria have more of the traditional bed and breakfast look to them. Having spend some time in the lobby reading it really does look as cool over looking the coast as it does in the pictures. This is the perfect place to relax at. For our room we got a standard king bed room which is a fairly nice size. I liked that the room had a nook that you can read at and fire place. It is a nice romantic place that had me wishing that it was just my wife and I and no kids. The bathroom is very nice and the Aesop soaps were oh so lovely to take advantage of. You can even buy some soap and take it home with you if you like. Cambria is a nice little town not to much their aside from the board walk and some restaurants in the main street. One thing that would have been nice to do had it been my wife and I would have been to bike to the main street to eat, thought most people staying just use the bikes to go up the board walk on the beach. Waking up to the crisp air and going to your car just seeing the coast right outside was a great feeling to wake up to. This is a great hotel weather you are coming to stay just in the area or visit the other areas a ways up like (Big Sur, Monetary ect. Great stay and look forward to coming back. read more

Had an amazing stay at the White Water! I stayed in the Premier King Room and thought it was so beautiful. I loved the details and the aesthetic of the room & lobby. The bed & pillows were so comfortable and soft and the Aesop soaps/lotion were also really nice to have. Baskets were sent each morning with coffee and DELICIOUS croissants. It was a beautiful stay inside and out with Moonstone Beach directly across the street. One thing I did notice was that the room wasn't as clean as I would've liked. I found hair on the shower walls from the previous guests when I first checked in and the floors were dirty. Nonetheless, every other aspect here was really good so I would still return in the future! read more

Checked in after two days of camping, really looking forward to a hot bath. No bathtub - my bad, should have checked. Tried showering; the water in shower was cold, then warm, then cold. Maintenance guy told me, "turn it all the way to the left" - why didn't I think of that? Lol. Eventually after running for 10 min it got "hot" for about 30 seconds before cold then warm again. Room very basic. No cell service. WiFi extremely spotty. Netflix didn't work on TV. Won't be back. Not worth the over $450/night price tag. read more

White Water is a motel that's masquerading as an upscale hotel. The rooms have nice furnishings and the outside of the buildings have been painted a modern black, but it doesn't disguise the fact that the building was built as a motel with very small rooms and little-to-no soundproofing. You can hear everything that goes on outside of the room. Sure, it's across the street from the beach but so are approximately 20+ other very similar motels along Moonstone Beach Drive. And while they deliver a picnic basket of pastries and canned sparkling wine to your door as breakfast, but they also charge a daily rate of $12 for this perk. So, I wouldn't return to this 3-star hotel for the 5-star hotel prices they charge. read more

I am just in love with this place! White Water had been on my bucket list for awhile, and I finally stayed over a long weekend recently. It is located directly across from Moonstone Beach in Cambria. It is a lot pricier than the other hotels in the surrounding area, but I believe the details make it worth it. Staff was so friendly and personable and did everything they could to make our stay a wonderful experience. The rooms are just gorgeous, and very on trend. The king room had a fireplace and a large shower with Aesop bath products that smelled amazing. You can hang out inside the lobby where they serve small bites, wine, beer, and cocktails. Or at the fire pits out front that face the ocean. Directly across the street is the new wooden path that you can walk or bike along and catch some gorgeous ocean views. They place a picnic basket with coffee, pastries, orange juice, and champagne outside of your room each morning. Such a nice touch. Seems to be a 2 night minimum stay if you go on a weekend. Because of the high price point, I probably won't be back too often, but it really is a wonderful treat. It was truly worth every Penny. read more

This is the BEST place to stay on Moonstone Beach!! The minute you drive in you realize you are in for a treat!! Our room had a full ocean view, fireplace and private outdoor hot tub!! What a wonderful birthday getaway! I could go on and on about the wonderful amenities, the comfy beds, the amazing location, and great bathrooms / suite, but I'm writing this review mostly to talk about the incredible food and staff. First, the staff at White Water will go above and beyond for whatever you need. We always felt welcome and cared for. Second, if you're staying here, do not skip on the "light bites"!!! These bites are anything but light (at least to me) and are SO DELICIOUS. Some of the best food we had in Cambria the whole weekend. Lauren is incredible and makes each sandwich, dip, dessert to perfection and it was so worth having 2-3 meals there. The view from the lobby is so great -- we spent most of the rainy weekend in there reading, drinking, and snacking. A perfect weekend in my book! read more

Such a cute and aesthetic place. Great for Instagram! This place is also wonderful if you just want to relax and just get away. There isn't much to do in this small town. Slo isn't too far away and there are some wineries but they aren't that close. Still an amazing experience. There wasn't any ac in the rooms so it was stuffy when I went. I wouldn't stay more than 2 days since honestly there isn't much but if you just want to relax, go to moonstone beach, take some cute photos this is the place! The service was great! Loved the wine and cheese board. Also I love how they give you a breakfast basket in the morning. It's such a nice touch. I loved how at peace I was there. Felt calming.
