Stayed a couple of nights for my birthday weekend. Staff were friendly. Our fur baby was given a toy and a treat (what a pleasant surprise!). I love pet-friendly places Breakfast is modest...oatmeal, lemon ginger slice, pumpkin walnut slice, and hard boiled eggs. Boardwalk is just across the street. We enjoyed our morning and evening walks. They also had a common area where you can lie down and enjoy your ocean view. I deducted a star because no AC, mini fridge nor microwave (but we knew this coming in). I think there's a portable fan in the room though. I wish they had a microwave in the common area. Walls are thin so bring ear plugs if you're sensitive to noise especially since they're pet friendly (thank goodness our dog only barked a couple of times during the night ). read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay at Cambria Beach Lodge, a cozy and relaxed property located on Moonstone Beach Drive, just across the street from beautiful Moonstone Beach. The rooms were clean and well sized, with large bathrooms and comfortable square layouts. One small note: the shower has a half-glass panel, which doesn't fully prevent water from splashing onto the bathroom floor. Pro tip: bring bedroom slippers, as the stone flooring can get chilly . We booked three rooms (8, 19, and 21). All were decent in size, though lighting varied. Room 8 was the darkest, while Room 19 had the brightest natural light. Most rooms include a fireplace, except Room 21. There is no in-room coffee maker, but complimentary coffee and a light breakfast are provided daily in the lobby. The lobby is small but very inviting, and comfortable with a cozy fireplace and stunning views of Moonstone Beach. There's also a second-floor observation deck with even more panoramic ocean views. An excellent spot to enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine. Plenty of parking is available directly in front of the rooms, making it very convenient. There are complimentary beach bicycles for guests but you have to sign a waiver. We went for an early morning ride along Moonstone Beach Dr. It was fantastic!! At $178 per night including taxes and fees, this is hands down one of the best values if you want to stay right by Moonstone Beach. We would absolutely stay here again. Happy Travels! read more

I recently spent a week in Cambria Ca. at the Cambria Beach Lodge. I really enjoyed my stay. First of all, Moonstone Beach is gorgeous so my daily walks were just fantastic. The boardwalk along the beach is truly something. Watching the crashing waves as you walk along the boardwalk is genuinely soul calming. Second, Cambria Beach Lodge is a stones throw from the boardwalk. The lobby is adorable and perfect if you want to sit and watch the waves, play games, read or enjoy the fireplace. In the morning, there is coffee, boiled eggs, pastries, oatmeal and bananas. They don't vary the breakfast so if you want variety, might need to hit a restaurant in town. Third thing to note, the rooms are relatively small. I stayed in the deluxe king and it was perfect for 1-2. The room was cute and clean but I wouldn't have minded a small fridge and a microwave. Also, a small table would have been nice; I like to sit at a table and eat or read when I am staying at a hotel/inn. Finally, the price was reasonable considering the lodge sits across from the ocean. I stayed in May so it was cheaper, I think. Next time I visit Moonstone, I would probably consider this lodge again. read more

So disappointed! Friendly front desk, cute room. However, our eyes started to burn the moment we walked into our room from the overwhelming bleach fumes. We opened the door and windows to air out the room. Little did we know that the bleach was to hide the stench of sewage smell. I'm not sure if the hotel had plumbing issues or what. Regardless, they knowingly did not disclose the issue. Driving over six hours for a gross night sleep is unacceptable. read more

Consider us lucky the best hotel on the row was the one we happened to walk up to. Adorable beach hotel that feels newly renovated. I loved the location - waking up and crossing the street to the surf was fantastic. I also thought the beds were comfy and the rooms were clean. We had a fireplace in our room and were very warm - gets cold at night even in summer. For $12a night, you get a light continental breakfast, parking, WiFi and beach bikes. I loved the light breakfast because it had high quality breakfast products and nondairy creamers for coffee. The beach bikes were SO fun to scoot around town. I wish that they had a rack to store surf boards or a place to rinse off sand. They're newly (?) associated with Hyatt but they don't recognize or offer the typical status benefits like room upgrades or 2pm last check out (Bummer!). read more

The location is so ideal. You're right across the road from moonstone beach and it is gorgeous!!! I would stay here again in the winter time, as the rooms do not have ac and coming in during summer after hiking and exploring made my stay a bit uncomfortable forsure. There was a small personal fan but omg I was dying and ended up just going back out to cool off. It was quiet and I slept well, rooms are contemporary and nice but there is an odd stale smell. The shower also was odd and water got all over the floor as there is only one glass slide. Our door seemed to be jammed as we would try to enter our room each time. Also beware of the parking, very tight. Overall I would recommend for a quick stay or getaway for 1 or 2 ppl. read more

Our stay at the Cambria Beach Lodge was very enjoyable. We booked four rooms for the weekend, and the staff reservation clerk was very courteous and helpful in making the arrangements. Our arrival was late, and the staff stayed in touch with us to ensure that access to our rooms was effortless. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, with a fun, seaside feel. The office staff was friendly and fun to interact with, and helpful with tips for local restaurants and shops, and the continental breakfast breads were delicious. Housekeeping staff did a terrific job of keeping the rooms clean. and tidy. The easy access to the beach makes for lovely views and quiet walks. While we were mildly disappointed that there was no mini-fridge in the room, everything else made that insignificant. We would definitely return to Cambria Beach Lodge on our next visit to the area! read more

This is by far the best place we've ever stayed at on Moonstone Beach - if you're planning a trip to Cambria, this is where you want to be! Completely remodeled the rooms and bathrooms have a chic beach cottage vibe. There is also a sky deck with ocean views & chill music where we enjoyed our al fresco dinner and watched the sunset. We used the complimentary bikes daily to bike along Moonstone drive- so awesome!! The room comes with a nice complimentary breakfast of fresh breakfast loaves (pumpkin walnut & lemon ginger), bananas, oranges, oatmeal in their gorgeous ocean view lobby. The service is great and I am so hooked on this place- so happy there's a great place to stay now on Moonstone Beach. I will be a regular. read more

My girlfriend and I came for our anniversary and the staff was exceptional and made us feel very welcomed. It was a cozy room and overall a great stay. The walk down to the beach only took about 5-10 minutes from the door of our room. The views were amazing in the evening. I'd recommend coming in the fall or winter since there's no ac in the rooms but other than that it's an excellent choice to stay. We just wished the downtown life stayed open a little later, everything closes around 9pm and doesn't open til about 10am. We will definitely be back though! read more

My husband and I just recently stayed here for one night and had an incredible experience. The receptionist was incredibly helpful, kind, and educated in the different offerings available around the hotel. Our room was on the smaller side, but it truly felt spacious and not at all claustorphobic. The huge bed was my favorite part, it was very nice. In the morning they had a light refreshment bar for breakfast with coffee, tea, OJ, some fruit, pastries, oatmeal, and hard boiled eggs. Usually, when I do stay at hotels which offer breakfast I receive the typical "breakfast spread" but they often fall flat. Although this one was smaller and not as "prepared", it was a great breakfast that I enjoyed. The staff and the manager were very, very helpful. It's beautifully located right across the street from the ocean with a walking boardwalk. We were able to view a lightning storm from the upper lanai seating area above the lobby. The continental breakfast was just what you need in the morning for a day in Cambria. My sister and I slept so well on their comfortable beds.And the pillows were the best that we ever slept on. I would highly recommend this place, and hope to be returning shortly. read more

STOP - READ THIS! Cambria Beach Lodge (CBL) was very charming, quaint, intimate, tidy, organized, clean and beautiful. All the staff were gracious, esp. Brie (more below). We stayed in the Ocean View King (Rm. No.1) which were thoroughly enjoyed. Everything about our stay was peaceful, delightful, cozy and romantic. We loved stretching our legs, riding (complimentary) 2 of the Lodge's LINUS bicycles--super fun--into downtown Cambria. Continental breakfast was warm and yummy with an assortment of fresh fruits. Of notable mention... Brie was AMAZING! She was one of the reasons we stayed @ CBL in the first place. From our initial phone call of inquiry, to our arrival, and throughout our stay, Brie was the consummate professional and gracious host. So very kind, patient, funny and generous. Thoroughly enjoyable stay on Cambria's Moonstone Beach. We loved the straightforward layout of the rooms and amenities. We did have a constant problem with a fire alarm that needed to be reset every few hours both nights we were there, going off for absolutely no reason at all. Very loud and jarring. Front desk representative was informed of this issue about suite 3. We weren't here long enough to complain further. Looking forward to trying sister property White Water Inn down the street sometime. read more

The CBL is a mostly positive experience in relaxing, slow paced Cambria. I watched the dog while wifey went in to grab the keys and she returned grinning with 2 glasses of wine from the front desk! We then headed upstairs to drink and watch the sunset. What an incredible start to our stay! The only knock on this place is the thin walls and loud floors. Some bonehead was getting his steps in at 10:30 pm and it sounded like a unending bass speaker. Thankfully he stopped after an hour or so of making primitive beats. Back to the positive: across the street is a nice walk for humans and dogs to enjoy the view to the coast and beach. You are walking distance to Moonstone which has great seafood. If you want to go downtown it's only about 5 minutes away. In the morning the included breakfast absolutely slaps. Hard boiled eggs, pastries, coffee, OJ, oranges, a real nice touch! Staff was pleasant both in the evening and AM. Then we took out the included cruisers on a beautiful stroll while waving at locals and fellow vacationers. It was hella sweet. We will definitely consider this place in the future! read more

This is a nice spot literally right on the ocean (walk across the street). Simple lodge with nice amenities. I gave them a three because upon arrival with a reservation, we were placed in the incorrect room, the sheets had what appears to be a stain maybe from heat from a dryer (not sure), and an empty 16 oz (attached to the wall) body wash container. They do not provide extra soap, lotion etc. so we were not pleased, especially when you go to take a shower at the end of the day when the office is closed and you can't shower effectively. The person that assisted us upon arrival did not have the most helpful personality which was also a disappointment. Other than the fact that it is right across the street from the ocean, it was an ok place to stay. Rooms are very nice; some rooms have a fireplace. No fridge in our room, no coffee maker but they do have coffee in the front office as well as simple breakfast items like muffins, fruit etc. Nice place if passing through for wine tastings to enjoy their small quaint downtown. Hopefully you will have a better experience. read more

We have been visiting Cambria the last 30 years, as it is one of our most favorite spots ever to visit!! We live in the Santa Ynez Valley, and it's easy to travel to, and a wonderful getaway always. We originally stayed at many of the Pacifica hotels, and then discovered your hotel, and cannot thank you enough for the beautiful lovely updated Decor, the fabulous service and staff-and the wonderful luxurious bedding! We also very much enjoy the breakfast offered in the morning, and the wine in the afternoon on the upper deck! Molly, Bree, Rebecca, Erika -everyone has been fantastic!! Great little hotel right by the beach. Gorgeous views of the ocean from the lobby, and the rooms are clean with comfy bedding and towels. No frills, but solid experience. However, we stayed between Christmas and NYE, and the nightly price of $550+ seems high for what you get. We did think the $12 amenity package for continental breakfast and access to bikes was a good deal. A few small notes 1- the rooms need more than one mirror. Our double queen only had one mirror in the bathroom, which made things a little tricky for 4 people getting ready/dressed. 2 - so happy they were offered hard boiled eggs as a healthy protein option alongside pastries and sugared oatmeals. But they were overcooked, making the yolks dry and the whites rubbery. 3 - while we appreciated clean rooms, the smell of bleach was so overwhelming when we first walked in, we had to air out the room and bathroom for an hour. read more

My boyfriend and I LOVE cambria and wanted to stay somewhere new this visit and we came across Cambria Beach Lodge. We had such a wonderful stay and will definitely stay here next time. Their lobby was beautiful, their rooms were so cute had a fireplace and beds were comfy and clean. They offered complimentary breakfast and tea throughout the day. They also gave their guest beach cruisers to explore and they had a magical rooftop to watch the sunset and lounge watching the stars. I highly recommend this vintage boutique hotel with a chic and modern feel. Located just steps from the beach the hotel offers a very comfortable and classic sleepy beach city appeal. The entire property is very clean from the guest rooms to the grounds to the front lobby. It's very close to lots of great restaurants, bars and sites of interest. The staff was quite friendly and professional. They made us feel we and cared for. I honestly would love to stay here every single time I'm in Cambria because it checks off all of the boxes when it comes to what I want in a hotel. I am so very happy we changed our reservation from another lodge in the area to here. So many pluses. -Friendly & helpful staff who graciously answered all our questions and even printed a color map of a hike they suggested to us (which we loved!) -The lobby is welcoming, clean with a very nice decor/style. A lovely continental breakfast is offered each morning that includes great coffee, tasty breads from a local bakery, hard boiled eggs, juice & fruit. There are a few tables you can enjoy your breakfast as well as a spacious couch with a fireplace & fantastic view of the ocean. -The upstairs patio lounge is perfect to watch the waves, surfers & sunset. There is a plexiglass wall to help block any wind. We met several fun people up there. -The rooms have a cool beach vibe that is a clean look. Beds were comfy and a fireplace is also in the room. Only a few little things could be improved- the towels were thin & rough. It would be nice to add a propane heater on upstairs patio. Last minute booking of a one night stay on a summer weekend w/ a pet in Cambria can be a challenge, so I was glad that Cambria Beach Lodge had a room. The total was $442, including a pet fee. The details: Check in was easy. Parking was tight. King bedroom was basic- no AC, a tiny fan (that we ended up putting in the window), no fridge or microwave. WIFI had a spotty connection. The soaps/lotions provided had such a musky/manly/overpowering scent that it almost made me nauseous. The shower was an odd set up. The shower head was close to 7 feet up the wall. It took forever for the water to hit my body. The basic shower head had a lot of water deposits on it- not something I want to look up and see. There is only 1/2 a glass door so water splashed out all over the walls, floor, and our clothes. Needless to say, no hanky-panky took place in the shower that weekend. I didn't hear any of the neighbors through the walls. I think everyone kind of had an understanding that since we were all in pretty close proximity to one another, that we need to be respectful and quiet. You can't beat the location and views of the lodge. I'd consider staying there again for sure if other locations are booked. read more

We stayed 5 nights at this adorable beach lodge for a work-from-anywhere vacation. We loved it! The room (#25) was great. Cute coastal vibes, bed was comfy, heater worked, parking right outside the door was convenient. There's a handy umbrella in the room for the drizzly mornings and binoculars for spotting the wildlife (I put these to great use!). *Note - for those worried about no mini-fridge in the room, they have one on property that is first come first served & a regular fridge in the lobby if you need to stash some leftovers, etc. Since we were there for several days, I'm glad I knew to ask for the fridge and they brought it right to our room. Just ask and the staff will be happy to help. Speaking of the staff. We spent several hours working in the lobby (great wifi) and had the chance to speak with probably every member of the CBL team. EVERYONE was delightful! They were kind, and thoughtful, answered all my questions about the area, recommendations for food and sights, or just gabbing about hoping to catch some sea otter sightings or where to shop in town. The lobby was so cozy. With the fireplace, chill music and giant windows looking out to the ocean, we didn't mind logging a few work hours there. We got take-away for dinner one evening, grabbed some wine and spent the sunset hour enjoying our meal on the upstairs patio. The breakfast pastries and coffee were so yummy! Don't miss out on breakfast before you hop on the beach cruisers for a ride around town. Overall, I'm glad we chose Cambria Beach Lodge as our home base for the week. read more

Disappointing is an understatement. Our room was not very clean, it smelled bad, and when I brought this up at check out, I was ignored. The multiple times I reached out to management about the state of the room, radio silence. This place is way too expensive for what it is. Should be $200 tops. Your money is better spent at any other hotel in the area. This one is fake nice. I'm attaching a photo of the absurd amount of dust caked into my bedside table. Will never return. We stayed here years ago, when they still cared, and I'm so disappointed to see the state of this place now. Management should be ashamed.
